Ok to cut a long story short my husband and I are on another round of court dates relating to my mother-in-law's psychotic tendencies and delusional beliefs.

She recently spewed at me (I can never bring myself to say spoke or talked as she only releases venom not words) that even when she was dead she would not leave me alone and she would see her revenge wreaked on me. (Love you too Mommy Dearest... NOT)

This has me thinking ... although I would have her ghostly ass exorcised in a heartbeat...Who would I come back and haunt to have revenge/vengeance against some perceived wrongdoing?

Bottom line is I believe in Karma and everyone eventually gets whats coming to them...

Any ideas on this (or spill the beans about who you would haunt!!)

I think I would have more important things to do than haunt an individual after my passing. Such as traveling the planes as the Universe deems my journey fit.

If it were so, their are a couple of individuals if the Universe does deem my haunting a nessessity.

Negative emotions such a revenge or vengeance woul jus creat an uncomfortable place for that spirit to inhabit, and any harm done to you would be paid, not worth it

There is a lot of truth in karma in the sense that "what goes around, comes around"; people either believe in karma or dismiss it as a supernatural and/or superstitious concept.

In the case of the phrase, "coming back to haunt you", I think it is a way for one person to psychologically get back at another. If no wrong has been done to the person making the threat, then there should be no reason to be afraid. However, if the person being threatened has done some wrong--it is most likely to be his or her "guilty conscience" that is coming back to haunt them.

I much rather forget those who have wronged me, and watch over those whom I love that have not passed over.

I waited for Karma on my ex-husband when years later it came...honestly it brought no satisfaction for I had move on, and left the ugly thoughts heal over.

To be honest I think there is a lot more to do after death than hang around this old world.
If I had too then I would possess a house and all inside would be mine forever … lol
Or walk around a graveyard moving stones n stuff…… as for individuals ….. I don’t care enough as any wrong done to me is dealt with by me as I see fit. Just running out of places to hide the body’s lol

Given the way I am, I'd probably haunt someone random, and just tease them or move things around when they're not home. Pure mischief. Nothing really bad. It would fit in with how I spend my time in real life. lol.

If someone would treat me poorly or did such badness to me , yeah i would haunt them until they became loony. At this moment i have no one i would haunt.. I do have a few people that i want to bring down a few pegs though.

I would think that after she has passed, she would be able to find better things to do. I read somewhere that once a person passes, the things that really bothered them just don't seem to be important anymore. She sounds like a nasty old lady, and I'm sure she will get what she deserves, especially after what she has said to you.

The only thing that could make me haunt another is if someone had harmed one of my children, I would go to the ends of the earth to avenge them.

Wow.... You know what? I think death would be too nice a thing for her to even wish for... Let's turn her into a vampire.. lol... I'm pretty sure that living forever would be pure hell for the old bat.

i dont think i would come back to haunt any one for the simple reason i dont think that after one dies that we just enter a limbo for a time being until our souls are called forth again to once again keep the cycle of life flowing until the end of time.

I don't really think that I would want vengeance after death but I am a bit of a smart ass so I would want to haunt and freak out a few of my foes during life...it would be fun and just desserts.

I doubt i would hunt anyone. If so i would have been visible for that person so the person really know im after revenge. But i dont think i will bother after leave this world. I dont think i care then.

I realize eternity is a long time, but this life is too short as is. I'm not wasting a moment of the possible afterlife to screw with someone that really wasn't worth my time while I was alive.

I have actually the same exact story, techically she is not my mother in alw yet but she will be soon. She has told me many times that after she is dead, I will never be free from her. I think that after I die, I will haunt whichever one of my kids, need it. lol

This can only happen if someone was truly wronged and how strong willed they are, how much will power they had to stay from the light.

Revenge and Vengeance if for only those that truly were wronged in life, but if your mother in law believe she was truly wrong then she might be able to stay and torment you.

From what I understand, things change a bit on the other side, in the fact that you don't care as much about early issues as you once did in the physical form. There are those that are stuck in that revenge rut, but it does them no good, or anybody else. I would suggest getting it resolved here before anyone passes over, as in making your peace and walking away from the negative energy person. =) Cut it from you.....as best you can. We have done that and rarely have anyone over anymore. Drama cut out of life. =)

Who would I come back to haunt? After sitting and thinking about this for quite some time, I found that there is no one I would waste my afterlife time haunting. The reason is simple. Even as a ghost the laws of Karma come back. If you believe in reincarnation, I have been told that whatever you did in your last life comes back to you in your next, and so on.

I have enough drama with my ex, and trust me, if ever there was a man who needed killing or tortured, it is him. But I wouldn't waste my time, my energy or my soul to risk anything coming back to bite me in the ass whether I was alive or dead. Karma will get him in her own time.

people get what they deserve. Some people are just nuts and are plain mean because they dont like another person but...


for example if someone was murdered id damn well expect them to haunt the shit out of thier killer

I know for a fact that I will come back and not haunt but just come around my family, friends and my husband. Just to let them know I am still here and still love them.

I really cant think of anyone that I would want to so called haunt. But you are right karma does come back around and everyone ends up getting what they deserve, I know karma has kicked me a few times.

i would not waste my time on haunting anyone after i die,i think theres a far greater plan in death and the things that we get mad at or are important to us now become meaningless once we die and our urgencies change direction when we cross over or depart from our body

I think it would be interesting if that could really happen. I know there are some that have really wronged me in recent times i would have on my list and others that i would let slide guess it depends on the harm they did to one.

I really don't think that I would haunt anyone after I was gone. I mean so what if they did something to make you seriously dislike them. What goes around come around.

I don't think that I would "haunt" anyone. But, I would keep a special eye out for my loved ones. To try my best to keep them from harm.

Thing is,we dont know what happens after this..and personally,Im not taking any chances to wreck any future life here again by doing something pretaining to revenge.I dont think that ghosts have anything to do with staying to exact it either.

most likely i would stay attached to my house and i would probley wreck havoc on the new occupence to keep it clean and no children and no noise other then good music i think i would be a bitch haunt ever

Well if there is a better place to go after this one I don't think I would waste my time on earth haunting someone even if I hated them as they would win in the end if I were to supercede my happiness for them. I believe in karma....

I agree with HHW, but for fantasy's sake, I'd haunt my bro, leave some clues, mess with him. He'd get a chuckle out of it. One last dose of the family sense-of-humor would do it for me.

I'm not sure what kind of revenge a ghost could actually invoke. I don't think a ghost can really harm you...physically. Not enough to enact revenge. Also, at the moment, there's no one I would need to seek vengeance upon...yet. Now, if someone comes along and kills me? Um...yeah, I'd try my damndest to make their life miserable. :D

Let's say for a moment I do beleive I can come bakc to haunt someone....well I would not.

If I could come back I would not waiste my time on going after empty revenge I would instead have fun, play tricks and laugh at people while they freka out and wonder what the ±±± is going on.

I would probably go around the world making people loose their mind.

Plus revenge is futil and childish and in the end the ones who had been "revenged on" would die and come to you.

I actually like the idea of haunting someone, but mostly it'd be a waste of tieml ike it is a waste of time caring about enemies while we are still alive.

So yes like Saharia I'd prefer to sleep and never wake up, really if I had to choose I'd choose to cease to exist forever, not even having a soul.

I myself would like to come back, but not for revenge reasons. Instead of revenge I'd like to continue learning even after I pass away.

I personally would not want to come back to haunt anyone no matter how much they wronged me in this life. I feel that I am the better person for rising above them in being able to move on and not let it bother me. The only exception to this would be if one of my children were seriously harmed or killed by a malicious act of sorts and that person was not caught or punished.

If you mean haunting random locker rooms of NFL teams, then yes, I will be a haunting ho' from hell! And I am okay with that. As for wreaking havoc on the living because Im demented on the way out -- nyah. If I'd been the victim of some fairly shitty act, I may be interested in the vengeance game *shrugs* who knows! I too, am a firm believer in karma, but I also lack patience in the worst way and wouldn't put it past me to give said karma a nudge...
