I would like to see an IM system

I would like to see the "unrated" option work and maybe a separate section designated for members who are not affiliated with a house or a coven.

but i think Cancer has got Vr pretty damm good

things have changed a lot on Vr through Cancer and his team & its great

I think VR is good the way it is. One thing I would love to see is a way to send a message to just my coven admin staff instead of sending it out to each of them individually

I think they're should be a page where you can check back on your status, letting you know what you need to do instead of having to wait another hour to look at it. It would be nice knowing how many forum's you posted, how many profiles you've rated without having to update your status. Thats just me.

And being able to use more complex html would be nice too. But other than those too, vampirerave is THEE most amazing site out thier.

Anyway yes I would also like to be able to view all of my "stats" if you like without having to update. It would just be quite helpful to me :)

I like VR as it is, but one thing I would like was that the poker popup was removed.

When you go to www.vampirerave.com I have experinced to be taken to a poker site instead so you have to update before you can log in.

VR keeps getting better and that combined with the people who donate their time to help out, makes VR a very good website.

i think thats a good idea,i dont like waiting an hour to update,but i cant say anything about it,im at 83% of level 21 right now,im hoping to make sire within a year though :D its hard to get there though,especially where im at right now

for your current number of posts just look in any thread you've posted in or check "The Top" in the members menu. For the number of profiles you've rated when you update your status either write down your stats or copy and paste it somewhere like in your journal then stalk your self it will show how many profiles you've rated in the last 24hrs make a note of that number then go rate some profiles when you're done go to your stats on the stalking page again note the difference and add it to what you saved in your journal

I say instant messenger Hands down big time.. I mean the whole unlimited messages is great but for those new users they only get a few and might need help they need a few more then just 10 i think it is.

I was also thinking for all of us that are not premium members we should be able to put in music somehow.. If there is something that does that already let me know i have tried tons of time to do that..

One last comment .. Do not get me wrong Cancer is great and i love VR lots... At first i hated being abducted into a coven i did not like and had to get myself out and i found a great one.. I think that maybe instead of someone stealing you into a coven with out asking you, we all should choose a coven and then ask the sire to join and if he or she says no then you can not be in that coven.. I am just thinking of the new people here is all.. I myself am happy with VR.. I found my coven, love the unlimited messaging and am happy.

The will have changes whether people like it or not. It will not remain as is. Like Radu said, Cancer has plans.

The sending coven staff a group message would be good.

IM - no... we have shoutbox and chat features, that no one uses.

To see your own status without updating would be nice.

Also, for when you sign up, you should be able to select:

Vampire, Lycan, Neither, Not Sure

or something like that, so we all know when we view a profile....not all have a profile named Vamp2987 or WolfGuy666 or whatever

I would like for vampire rave to make me an espresso each morning and iron my dress shirts. I know, I know...Cancer is working on it...

I would like to be able to post comments on individual pictures in the portfolios besides the rating. I also would like to see like they have in myspace to post what you are doing and feeling at the time.

I think it sucks that Cancer disabled the scrollboxes for non-PM members, that screwed a lot of people up. But i'm not gonna hate him for it, it's his website, he's the boss ;-P

I think that VR is great just the way it is.
But what would be nice is for the unrated button to be working and uh... oh to sort the profiles by how active the members are.

Don't bother asking for a reform in relation to the induction of members. That subject has been beaten to death in previous threads.

Also, scroll boxes were not disabled for premium members. Take a look at the Guardians of Darkness Profile Help Page, there is a link to it in one of the very first threads in the forum.

o.O a bona-fide VR Espresso Machine sounds inviting. Maybe babysitting service too?

gotta love VR - I like the idea about the status updates though... would be nice to be able to see where you are.

I think it would be a good idea that a new member couldn't rate others until they reached caitiff level 5. This way they would PERHAPS know how to rate better and would help to eliminate all the accounts opened just to down rate.

Seriously though -- IM sounds good, as would private rooms for chats, but I am wondering if that is going to clique up VR and defeat the purpose of all this interaction. To compartmentalize things too much is just so, so, so... stuffy.

Earning favor -- maybe something to up the averages, whatever doesn't drive the Admins batty, that would nice. That, and maybe allowing the newbies the opportunity to message a little more to get acclimated in the VR community before their daily allotment cuts off their socializing.

A few members are taking it upon themselves nowadays to create multiple accounts and down-rate others. I am sure that is not news to anyone on VR.

Restricting the rating rights of a new member could even prove to be beneficial. I understand that this may hamper that individual's ability to ascend through the status system until they reach the aforementioned level. However, if the members were still permitted to rate Member Articles and The Vampire Database, it would certainly "prevent childish activity"(VR Manual, Forum Limitations). It would also serve to more quickly help new members identify with those Member Articles and the entries found in The Vampire Database, which may help them throughout their endeavors here on Vampire Rave. With the myriad of entries already in the Database and Articles to rate, the member could easily regain the status potential lost due to the restriction of rating profiles and portfolios.

Reaching the said level would effectively bring the new member into the society through his or her newfound ability to post, create threads, and rate/comment profiles and portfolios. Certainly giving the member enough time to learn a bit more about this wonderful online community and work through it in a more mature manner.

This will probably never happen but...how about having some sort of screen come up before new members post in the main forum: "HAVE YOU READ THE VR MANUAL?" or "HAVE YOU USED THE FORUM SEARCH FUNCTION ON THIS TOPIC?"
Might cut down on some of the repeat threads and nonsense posts.

I have been a member here through a couple of different profiles over several years..one thing I miss most is the earning favor for playing the games as it created some fun with other covens...competing for fun and favor and how it would help with the bonding of different covens and help to earn the favor...other than that I do love VR as it is my home away from home and I cannot thank Cancer enough for giving us such a wonderful site!

I would like to see some coven challenge activities.

Essays, or other research based challenges. Photo challenges, computer craft match-ups.

If you were to check your status without updating it would be the same as the last time you checked it, so why not just copy and paste it as a journal entry? or into a favor thread in the sand box? there's usually one going. There are ways to keep track of your status without updating it just might require a little basic math on your part. Between "the Top" and the stalking page you can track just about everything except how many portfolios you've rated. If you start with the oldest portfolios and work your way to the newest and either bookmark where you left off or write it down you can easily track those. If you want to IM someone and not use the chat provided there's always msnm yim aim myspaceim icq............ I personally don't want to have to add yet another IM to download and keep updated. Just my opinion.

As far as copying and pasting status I just simply added myself to my friends list. Then when I update my status I copy it, send a message to myself with the update pasted in to it. Then I save that message and there it is. Oh, and in order for yourself to show up as a friend you must have lurking off.

Also it does get frustrating to see whelps with one line of a profile rating you, (me), a 6 or sometimes even lower. I don't have the best profile on here but I've done my best to make it creative. I surely don't deserve a 6 from someone who has no intention of contributing to this site or being a serious member.

Maybe a dropdown "Send to" of your friend's list so you can send the same message to several friends. Without typing each in and sending separate messages. Just a thought.

I think we should be able to decide what covens we accept to be in instead of them being forced or someone just grabbing you and slamming you in them once you hit 5. I like how the site is the for most part, of course anything new is welcomed. :D

I think the site's cool, all except for that we need to get the "unrated" thing working when looking up members, cuz that's just teasing people by being there. It hasn't been working for years.

I just also had the epiphany that it would be cool to mark the top of a profile with a special stamp to show if have already rated that profile.

Personally I don't mind whatever is added to the website.

Whatever Cancer decides to add or remove is in the best interest of the site, therefore that's what I like seeing.

DjMMp-There is already an identifier in place that lets one know whether or not they have already rated the profile. Stop being so lazy and just scroll down :P

Also it is perfectly alright to rate a profile more than once as many of us do re-rates as we level up, it holds more weight.

I like the idea of not allowing new members rating privileges until they have reached caitiff as the ones making profiles now just to hurt others with down rating makes many look bad.

VR is ever evolving. Since the time I originally registered here, there have been significant changes. Even now there are always great new things on the horizon.

I would like to be able to see the rating system eliminated because everyone is an equal part of vr .Why do we have to be rated anyways .Competition is silly .

I really like the site now, but just random ideas that have popped in my head that I thought were nifty are
1) disabling right click for everyone's portfolios, to avoid anyone grabbing another persons artwork or whatever immoral act they can do. I think some user of this site don't create portfolios because they think if they share their pictures, that means they can be taken.
2) for some people who are serious in moving up in level, maybe have like a extra credit list of favors/deeds. Or just one day for double experience.

I had heard that when you blocked someone that would disable them to be able to either rate you or message,etc. under a new fake id.
Meaning i was told that VR had it set up in the system that once a person was blocked on one id they would not be able to hit a person with another id they had made just to get at that person who had blocked them well apparently that is not working as there are still fake id's being made and used against some people here would like to see that fixed where it actually works if i was even told the truth about this.

I realize that Sacred I just believe theres no need for rating portfolios .I like some of the ideas mentioned above .

IM would be great. would like to see the unrated option work too so dont have to scroll through pages to find where i am. But over all I think Cancer has done a tremendous job here.

My only change I can think of at the moment would be to have the unrated option work. It would help eliminate alot of profiles being missed.

I like the forums and would like to see a link to updates to ones post and new post since last on.
I have that on another site and it keep every thing active, no burying post under silly post that make you wonder off from the forum to other sites

I think this site is great , I have no complaints. I would just like to be able to at least play hangman for favor once again. I knid of miss that .

I think VR is cool the way it is...though having the sort by unrated work again would be helpful, but not necessary...and playing games for favor was a lot of fun, though obviously that had it's flaws, with people cheating and whatnot.

Yes...VR is nice the way it is...but I think you should be able to remove people that added you as a friend....since alot of them either never come on again or they are suspended forever...and/or be able to accept or deny friend requests.

I'm glad that the stamping option was removed from the Database. It's annoying see stamps there when it can't rate back.

I thuink that the idea about letting us know what we need to update our status would be great as well as the screen poppping up in the forum other then that Im very happy here with it as it is.

I'm all for what the frst poster said, an "unrated" option and a page for noobs that arent in house's/covens.

i loved the games that we played for favor of the prince. it's sad that stupid people had to cheat and ruin it for all of us. i was just getting extremely good at 5x5x5 and boggled before they banned games as favor :(

I think Cancer's done a bloody brilliant job on this site, it's got everything and more, and I struggle to think of a single thing that it lacks.

Better security for accounts.

There is really only 1 thing I can think of that I would like to see back here. And that is for the unrated section to work like it used to.

I don't know how much better a free site can get. this is one of the best free sites I have ever seen.

I would like an option where VR will sing me to sleep and fluff my pillow.

I would also enjoy if VR would just auto delete people who speak in text speak.

Along with that.. I think a feature where VR can slap people in the face when they need it.. myself included.

I think if we're premium members we should have more freedom to decide what coven we wish to be in , if one at all. Also to remove the rating from our profiles if we wish to.

Covens and rating are some of the biggest thing VR has to do with, I don't think we should do that hun. Besides, I love covens, vr would be pretty boring and completely different without them.

i dont rating system on profiles but i rekon we shouldnt rate portfolios cause for some people thats there life and soul and when they do get a low mark it does kind of make you feel down. i think that there should not be a rating system for portfolios.

Your profile is your personality as your portfolio is proof of you and your personality. There is nothing wrong with rating a portfolio. Some people's portfolios are great, others suck. Just like profile can and do.

RSS feeds would be nice. Every site has RSS feeds now and it is not hard to implement in PHP. I think video is essential for social networking but it would be expensive to store videos and supply the necessary bandwidth.

Leopard - Then that wouldn't be much like the society system is supposed to be. Only Sires and those under level five have the right not to be in Covens. The Sires because they've earned it.

Some great suggestions here so far! My VR wishlist is:

- Ability to preview your profile before uploading it
- A spell-check option on both profiles and messages
- 'Sort by Unrated' back again - I miss that so much!
- Portfolio comments for individual pictures
- A 'Search by Location' section on the profiles
- Approving or denyling friends requests
- Under 5's not being able to rate profiles (great suggestion whoever came up with that one!)
- Ability to send plaintext html code through the message system
- Showing how many posts instead of how many views in the forums

I like VR the way it is, but there is one change I would love to see. I has to do with rating. There are so many profiles, and I usually keep track of where I left off. But it gets a bit tiresome to have to go through all the profiles just to get back to where I left off. I think it would be great if there was a feature that allowed you to just jump to a certain page.

1. "sort by unrated" working again

3. can't rate profiles or portfolios until you're Level 5

The question was for New Ideas, basically what each of us would like to see. Whether others agree to it or not, doesn't matter. When those of you are raining down on what "I" would like to see, doesn't matter. Doesn't mean it's going to happen. Also shows that some "new ideas" aren't acceptable by all and that's fine too.

For all that would like to see force induction eliminated. It is a part of VR , and every coven makes the choice on if they do it or not. I choose that my coven will not force induct. That does not mean later I will not change my mind.

If force inducted try the coven if u dont like it then try to talk to your coven master about being traded. I know for myself anyone in my coven can approach me and if they are not happy, I will try to place them where they want to be.

The point is...you should have a CHOICE in the matter. What's so hard to understand about that? Maybe some people don't want to be in one. I'm not speaking for myself btw, but more or less about what others might prefer as well.

LeopardGoddess I understand your point. Where u have a valid suggestion we all no that force inductions will always be a part of VR. My suggestion to anyone is that when they are level 3 or 4 start looking arond for covens. If they find one contact the CM, ACM, or trade master to see if it would be possible to join when they level up.

I was force inducted once and then traded from there to another coven. And it turned out the coven that i was traded to I loved. It was the last coven I was in until I started my coven.

Life is not always full of choices, but even if its not by choice its what u make of it. Force inducted will always be negative as long as u make it that way. Instead turn it around and make it a positive situation. Make yourself the best member that coven has.

We have wonderful covens and Coven admin. I really dont believe any Coven Master will want to keep members that are unhappy.

I was in 7 covens 5 by choice, and 2 not by choice but the 2 not by choice worked out well. My experience with all the covens I was in taught me alot about VR and coven life and made me the Coven Master I am today

LeopardGoddess, when people phrase "I would like to see" I think they know its not just going to happen. Its only a way to express an opinion on new or fixed features.

I think the way VR is set up is great. I don't mind having to rate people and do my other tasks as I enjoy reading about the other members.

Since I am NOT much of a social person, the only two things I would like is:

1) With Premium Membership: The ability to approve/disapprove someone to add you to their friend list--or to be able to remove yourself from another member's list who has added you.

2) With Premium Membership: While lurking is on, become visible to those you choose to. Somewhat like Yahoo's and MSN's invisibility modes.

Distortion: I meant show how many replies for each thread on the actual main thread board, where it tells you the times viewed. I hate posting to threads that have hundreds of replies, and without clicking each and every thread to see how many replies there are it's sometimes hard to find the shorter ones. Just my own personal preference :-)

And I know most browsers have a spell checker but it's plain in some cases they aren't being used...or maybe the member just doesn't have the particular browser or add-on enabled. If VR had one, maybe more people would use it.

I agree with Horrorrock about rating portfolios , what if I don't agree with your life and your interests?? or you mine??
I try( hard sometimes) to see the beauty in what others see and be accepting weather or not I like it....or agree with it. BUT if it makes others feel as though they have a wand to wave , so be it.

I like VR just the way that it is and I agree with most I wouldnt want An IM system on here because we chatroom and shout boxes for that type of thing already.

There is a way to not be inducted. If you don't update your status, then you can't be inducted. But you will have to buy a PM in order to have the full features.

You choose to update, then you choose to participate within the forced inductions.


Also.. THIS is VAMPIRErave.

This is NOT fluffybunnyFooFooRave.. Which means If vampires did exist, then you would not have a say if you wanted to be turned into one or not. If you don't have a choice to be turned, then you wouldn't have a choice to be snatched up into their lil abodes.

So, in keeping with the spirit of the vampire world, I doubt forced inductions will ever change.

I would like a wee box beside my "online" sign on my profile page that says

"Gone to the kitchen for a beer, BRB"

This would inform those who had messaged (while I wasn't sitting at the computer) that I wasn't being rude and just getting my priorities in order and that I wouldn't be long ;P
