How many believe in reincarnation?
Also, do you also believe in the concept of Heaven? Does this cycle ever end? How does one come out, or liberate from this cycle?
If you believe in reincarnation I am very interested in how you feel about it? Also, if you believe in reincarnation, the concept of past lives comes up, does anyone feel connected to this cycle and feel they know anything about their "past lives"
If you don't believe in reincarnation, why not?
:) this post is open for everyone, and not for the use of debate or conflict, but instead to learn from one another and communicate! Thank you..
ok reincarnation does happen..i am proof. there is a heaven but only if you have finished what you were ment to do in your lifetimes.. many live multiple lifetimes. i am about 10,000 years old and still considered a baby. when this lifetime is over we go to a place called SUMMERLAND. it is a wonderful place where we can relax and think about what we have learned in the most recent life.
past lives? yes.
reincarnation? ....if u want to call it that.
Only so-called 'mythical' creatures are reincarnated; humans never are. There are still unicorns, but only in human form. Dragons, however, exist in human and dragon form. My husband taught me a lot, particularly about our past lives together. I believe that when we die, we all (humans and non-humans alike) go to the astral plane. I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has.
I've seen this come up quite a bit in threads in the past and to answer the question is that for me personally, I tend to seek out the most ancient or most basic form of belief system and try to understand, why they believe in an afterlife. Seems that every culture has some form of story to share or goes through great extremes to display that there is a hereafter. I myself tend to believe that our lives (body and spirit) are as butterflies coming out of our shells (cocoons), and freeing ourselves and going whereever we are meant to go. Nature really can teach one a lot if people took the opportunity to find some meaning to each thing that exists in the world. The weather, the seasons, animals...all of it serves as a tool to guide. It is the same for reincarnation.
Now whether or not beings created the idea of reincarnation to serve as a purpose of making death easier to handle, that i do not know.
However it would be ackward considering the amount of people whom have had spirit or ghostly encounters of some kind to believe otherwise, and those that have experienced some sort of out-of-body experiences personally. Then reincarnation would make sense in a way.
Not many are going to remember ever having lived a past life, but from what i see, most that have or do, make really bold claims of which is hard for me to grasp, such as "i was the queen of whatever", or i was the "add your high title here" etc etc you get my drift...
I think that sometimes people are picking up things that may not have anything at all to do with them, but rather being mentally shown something and taking it as something personal about themselves.
The reason i say this is because I do not believe we are meant to focus on what we used to be, so much as having respect for what we are now. Doesn't matter if we had a bold past life or not, it's how we carry our names in the now. I would imagine that someone who claims to be so bold a title and compared it to whatever they are not, would make them feel a little less important when in fact, we all have an importance or serve some kind of purpose.
lol sorry for rambling through my thoughts but yes i would have to say reincarnation is a possibility but I am always open to reconsider anything with a voice of wisdom.
SophiaStormRose--i would question that statement completely. Where does your husband get his information exactly that humans are never reincarnated? I think if humans are aware of it, then they are just as qualified as anyone else to be reincarnated. Such as those who believe their relatives can be their livestock. Why would they believe that in the first place? It may seem pretty far fetched but i guess you can say i am more curious where people come up with this stuff and why they believe it without questioning where the idea orginates.
It is a bit hard to ignore the illusion of reincarnation or the killer grip, vertigo of dejavu. When one experiences these feelings, they can only assume that they have "been there" and "done that" without even thinking twice about it, or pondering on it for hours.
Familiar scents, sites, etc. You could swear that you have been at that certain location before but you just cannot grasp when. Though you have never been "there" in your life, and yet you could describe even the most minute details of that location.
Those thoughts that run through your head when you sleep, that endless dream that persists, over and over in your head. When you finally get to the location within the dream, it almost makes you shutter and or have a very emotional experience.
Do I have dejavu? All the time. Do I believe in reincarnation? Absolutely. Even to the vaguest of details that I could tell in which centuries I had lived and or what I did for a career, as well as how I lived.
Some people have that ability, some don't. More power to the ones that do... As the experiences that you remember could mean something to you in this day and age.
~Stormrose~ regarding your philosophy, I would rather question your hubby in the matter at hand, as he may have more experience then you in this area as your teacher. Though your thoughts are always welcome, no matter who judges you based on your convictions and or practices.
It's a little hard to explain. Basically, as dragons evolve, we acquire knowledge. I'm sorry if that sounds confusing, but I don't know how to make it any clearer.
I dont believe reincarnation is real. I dont really have a reason why or why not i just cant see it happening. I had to learn all that i know and wasnt born with anything besides primal instincts and a carnal nature
I believe in reincarnation as I know a couple people who have looked familiar and played important parts in my life, and, even though we'd never met before, that they'd know me and we'd find out the reason was they remembered me but didn't know from where.
I do believe in reincarnation. Everything cycles many times in many different forms.
I do and do not believe in the concept of Heaven. The reason being that there is another plane of life. Some pieces are reincarnated in different forms while other pieces go to another plane.
I think in some aspects some bits and pieces are liberated while others are not for whatever reason or are reincarnated.
I do believe in reincarnation.
As far as the concept of Heaven goes, I have theories but I have never died so I will not pretend I have the answers. To refer to a very wonderful film "What dreams may come" they pose the idea that everyone creates their own personal Heaven or Hell. However, does this include those that have committed horrible atrocities? Can they not "imagine" whether they want a pleasant afterlife or not?
I believe that there is a cycle between that ends when we choose to come back and learn whatever it is we did not learn previously.
I feel very connected to my past lives and less connected to this corporeal plane myself. I have many vivid memories of lives before the current. I have also felt that I know things intuitively, that at my age-I have not readily experienced.
I believe that the state I exist in now is directly related to either something that occurred in a previous life or perhaps my soul had a greater purpose in bringing me back in these particular circumstances.
I feel everyone is entitles to believe in reincarnation whether it seems radical or not..but that saying can be applied to many things.
Whether or not someone else believes me-is really not my problem.
It does almost feel that this lifetime is on the waining end of the universal poll, as if there may be nothing after it. All lives come to a head at one point or another. But when that end hits, where does said soul go? Could be the next question.
I wonder if it is possible for all past lives to come to a head at the finish line and reveal themselves one by one, thereby causing a mass dejavu.
Has this ever happened to anyone?
I think there can be reincarnation and a heaven.
I have dreams that I suspect are connect with past lives.
As for heaven, it might exist too, what if we go to another dimension (call it heaven, summerland, however you wat to) to rest and then back to reincarnation.
I just ask what if, I don't really believe in anything.
my answer to your qustions are easy- nothing drawn out-anything is possible. i am sure everyone has had a past life in one way or another.it is also possible to be reborn.
I believe reincarnation is possible. Unlike some I won't say it as a matter of fact. It is a belief, it can not be proven either way.
To those who say I'm proof it's true, perhaps you are delusional. To say I'm really a dragon reincarnated as a human would cause many to be skeptical. Dragons are mythological creatures. No fossil evidence has ever been found.
Not that im a fan of really any organized religion, but some af the asian tibetan(sp?) etc...believe strongly in reincarnation....also i have listed to the audio books Conversations with God by: Neale Donald Walsch, in which it talks that all of us are here many, many times. He says we are all here as kings, queens, rich, poor, black, white etc. .until our soul learns what it need to to become one with god again...as i said im not a fan of organized religion and am certainly not a christian but the way his book describes things made alot more sense to me the the preachers do. its a least worth a look and has also ben made into a movie a couple years ago
Actually danzig, a dragon skeleton was found not so long ago.
I will have to look into that. I had not heard, I stand corrected.
Well if you think about dino bones, the makeup and construction of them aren't too far from what a Dragon may look like. If we found those big boys, why is it so hard to believe Dragons weren't in the mix? lol
I certainly believe in reincarnation and have as long as I can remember. We come back as many times as we need to reach Karma. I've always had bits and pieces of other lives in my memory. They are simple things like my innate knowledge of herbs and not visions of crowns and high status.
I take my understanding from nature. A tree grows, drops seeds that do not see the light but need it to live, something else just like it springs up into 'life' and grows to drop other seeds. The cycle is never ending.
So too is the soul the seed and the body the seed husk that is shed in death.
When in the realm of death, our soul contemplates what it learned and determines to go back or to stay there in the summerlands.
Because there are an infinite number of souls there that choose to make another go at life to learn something they need to learn, they come back.
I do not think we often remember anything from past lives because it is not the purpose of the life we live to remember, but to experience what is in the 'now' to take back as a lesson to our soul on the other side of deaths door.
But that is my take on it all.
I really like the idea of it and appreciate people living their lives based on the idea that their actions in this life will decide what their next life will be like. Sure its a little selfish to do nice things for people since you think it will make you royalty in your next life but the main thing is your doing nice things for people for one reason or another. Also its a pleasent thought that this isnt the only shot at life. Unlikely, but a nice thought anyway.
No I do not subscribe to past lives personally, I do see how reincarnation helps people while they die.
Past lives to me, is just a mystical interpretation of nostalgia.
I also have followed the individuals that led the past life practice, and they are shady.
I think incarnation not only involves being reborn but Karma, true love, and the power of habbit changes you each time.
As far as an end of the cycle? When you die what you believe is what you get. Once there if you make the concious decision to go back into the Living world then you do.
If your true love, your soul mate, decides to go back into Living without you that is how you get multiple soul mates through out your life. In this my meaning of soul mate is someone you have to be with during your life to teach you a lesson about yourself or others.
It is a complex cycle that makes us who we are. Be the Earth is completely destroyed and life reborn. There you are. Always.
Oh wow...hold onto your seats people...I actually do believe in Reincarnation and therefor past lives. Why? I honestly have no logical idea or explanation as to why I believe this way, but I have since I was a very little girl. It drove my strict Catholic parents crazy, but i stood firm in my beliefs. I am not sure what I think about Heaven but I believe that we live over and over again until we finally "get it right" and until we meet our one ultimate soul mate, the Twin Soul.
Yep...this is my one big belief. No matter how illogical.
I do like the idea of reincarnation, it allows me to think that I will have more chances in my other lives to....
Well one life just seems so bloody boring! lol
Watch out, oh ye neo-satanists out there, we have a group of individual that DOES believe in the incarnate and re-incarnate philosophy... Take that, Benbridge scholars!
The scholars at Bembridge, hmmm wasn't their studies in Egyptology?
I know very little about them.
Thoughts: How come a cat can have nine lives but not a human? Cats were worshipped in Egypt, they believe in reincarnation as does most ancient cultures...
Kinda makes sense in a way?
reincarnation, Yes I do believe in it. I believe that we take lessons into this life that we just did'nt quite learn in our last life.
I believe it is as the cycle of the year...Fall things begin to die as the leaves on the trees etc...Spring is a time of rebirth.
Just my 2 cents.
I had 13 past lives, I remember several of them, some only little things, others events and other stuff, dates, time, names places.
I did an intro spection on myself, I only used crystals and tarot along with spells to found out, I alos use automated writing, I had flash back which I did research on and found out it was actual events of the past I had never heard off. And especially since I knew details and names not mention anywhere.
My husband has a lot of memories from his past life, and he helped me remember some of mine. Happy days.
Well I do believe in past life...
Why?
By religion I am hindu...
How it does?
Justification: We have vital living force prana in our self along with the conscious... prana is the sphere of energy which gives power to conscious to command the mind viz intelact to operate the nerve tree.
Well whole life we living by thoughts and acts doing over the period and its impact on our resolve... what is resolve: resolve is the turning of our nature and impacts of which changes our conscious on levels and impact on prana too...
after the death these two things goes first... and this prana and conscious take another birth to run different life. this different life is chosen by our prana and conscious is depand on the impact of our past life which turned the nature of conscious and prana and it choses the life as per that nature... if you in past life craved in your subtle most for stinging, you will become snake, or ant or scorpian the life is chosen by your own conscious and prana...
if i die today, in my next life it is not necessary that I will be human only, the birth will be what in our inner we crave for and this changing is depand on our life time actchanged our nature....
I personally do believe in reincarnation. I have a very hard time believing that everyone is experiencing things for the very first time...
I have found that most of the time when I have deja vu, its because something is just too familiar...
Like when I had my son via c-section... I KNOW that I have never done that before and I KNOW that at the time I didn't really know anything about it... yet it was all so familiar that I felt deja vu right at that moment...
Now I am not sure if people will ever be able to truly remember everything about a past life or past lives but I think we get glimpses of it from time to time to help us deal with something we might find unsettling or scary... just a feeling to let us know that things are going to be okay or to get out of the way of danger...
I do believe in reincarnation there are to many things that cannot be explained in my present life that I have never done or seen before.
I believe in reincarnation but human to human. There is more proof through past life regression and genetic memories. There's a New Orleans Cop that wrote a book about his past life.
First of all, I don't believe in heaven, hell, Satan, or that Jesus is god but I also do not judge or criticize people who do.
With that out of the way, I will say that I believe in reincarnation. I believe that our souls are reicarnated many times over. That is why some people are said to be an "old soul." I believe that our souls are not gender or race specific and that we can come back as male/female, white, black, hispanic, etc. I further believe that we 'write' our own destiny for each of the lives we live. If a person commits suicide, that person is automatically brought back and is not given the privilege of 'writing' out that life and will eventually end up in the same circumstances as before when they took their life.
I think it is a posibility that a soul could come back to Earth, but not in a traditional reincarnation belief structure. I believe that we can come back to an Earthly existance physically (as a human or beast) or in spirit form. To me, it would not be a repititive thing, though.
I do believe in reincarnation, however I don't believe in heaven and hell. I believe that like all life forms we move through cycles which help us to evolve into higher beings. We gain knowledge and pass it on or assimilate it. Each life time we choose to live is a choice we make to learn and understand life.
As for remember past lives, we only remember what we need to remember to help us in this life time. Otherwise our minds will be overloaded with unnecessary information.
Err so yes I do believe in reincarnation.
An interesting question one that has been spoken of a lot in the forum threads. I do not have anything that I can say why I believe in them just something that I feel deep inside.
But I do believe in reincarnation and in past lives. Reincarntion, I see as a way for us to be able to finish something here on this plain that we were not able to finish before we died. Being able to see our past lives, well I believe that we are given glimpses of what once was as in past and I also believe that its way for us to find answers that we had not found before.
Soulshroude, I think is right when it comes to speaking of dejavu (sp). I have found this happening to me before, just the scent of something from the past or feeling as though I have been there at one point and time but not really knowing for sure until one day it just hits you. We are all apart of a never ending cycle in my thought process.
I can't say I have a belief either way. I concern myself with living a good life this time around and will discover what happens next when I'm no longer here.
yes there is reincarnation it end only when the need for what u are capable of doing are no longer needed or the leason that u neede to be taught are learned then it will end
I don't know much about reincarnation and past lives, but I do know some. And I'm not 100% of my beliefs, but I do think reincarnation is definitely possible. I'm not so sure about heaven though, maybe there is life after death, maybe not. I wasn't raised with a specific doctrine to stick to, so I've played around with my religioius and spiritual beliefs some, and I gotta say - I'm not sure whether I believe when you're dead, you're dead, or if you get reincarnated or go to heaven or what. But this subject does fascinate me to no end.
I am wondering about how one knows with certainty what their past lives consisted of and how many?
Oceanne, I have not tried this yet but there are forms of scrying and other incantations that can be done to help one find out their past lives. There was a post in the member articles..... I can't remember the name but will find it again and link it in here.
Yes I do believe in reincarnation and -
I always have, drove my family mad... good point about the. Egyptians and past lives... a strong belief in re incarnation there.
I have attended a few seminars on past liife regression over the years.. the last life I always got bits and peices of I was always by water, always a natural healer and I had pure white hair ironically I havea streak of white in my hair. That has always been there for as long as I can remember....
My son from the age of 3 always drew a picture of a family, one day he brought me te picture and asked when he was going to see his other family again because he missed his brother and sisters ... his father was never a believer in past llives until that day.
My thanks to you Spiritwalker. But Im still not sure how one would know for certain that it is a past life they are seeing .I lean towards believeing in it,but my idea of it seems to differ from most who have posted so far.I think that we would always reincarnate as humans, and that with each life,we proceed through the astrological signs...ie: first time being an Aries, last, Pisces.
I believe in reincarnation. I have been through five lives. I remember bits and pieces of them, but even then only though long meditations. I agree in what someone said earlier in that we remember things from past lives to help us through the trials of the one that we are currently experiencing.
Past lives regression , relates to a desire that is natural, the desire for nostalgia, personalized nostalgia. It is the same reason why Theme parks are popular.
I do. There are too many things that I have a sixth sense about that I have no knowledge of. I believe that being reincarneted would explain some of that knowledge.
First and for the record: Thank you for adding the post script to your forum post! Avoid conflict, obtain knowledge and find a middle ground of common acceptence....outstanding!
Secondly;
As there are so many ways to explore this set of questions, it would be nearly impossible to address every angle or possible ideal it actually presents.
In my view, reincarnation is a truth and does happen. It is also my view that there are past lives.
Whether these two views go hand in hand, like gears meshing together for a purpose is not for me to say.
I do not subscribe to the 'same body' theory that many do, but I am one who will say the Being, Soul or Spirit can and does come back for some while others continue on a journey elsewhere. That being said, I'm young-ish in 'this' body but very old in Being.
Again, good forum post!

Ithink it to be very real as far as demanding proof you might as well demand the godds to show up at your door in there true form not happening!
I believe in reincarnation, for our spirit can be past on to something else .
Reincarnation, I am not 100% sold on that idea. That would mean then only so many souls were ever made and in exsistance , forever recycling as if in a constant and never ending "Pez" dispencer.
Here is something you might have some fun with. It tells you kind of where you are as far as reincarnation and your astrology sign.
well, if you reincarnate, then you must have a past life. I don't believe in reincarnation, but, by me don't believing in it, doesn't mean is not possible. But, do you mean, reincarnation, into something else, beside, human?
Yes I believe in it
I believe that we have certain things we set out to do and if we do not reach these goals, our spirit passes on to another physical manifest until we do.
Memories from past lives can be found in each of us if we learn how to access them.
