it's a biiiig universe out there, and astrological signs are also known as 'sun signs', and all the moon really does anyway is reflect the sun.
i dont think the moon is any more controlling than circumstance, and every song, ballad, and deity bio ever written was written by a person motivated by their own personal beliefs.
i think the coffee someone drinks in the morning controls them more.

The only influence that has been proved, is that the moon can change the way the oceans are due to gravity. During a full moon the ocean is like a wild beast.

I think it's worth saying that the moon could affect our magnetic fields as well as give off frequencies that inspire specific emotions (via infrasound, real thing, look it up)

I agree with the word influence. And I believe that the phases of the moon does influence human behavior as well as the tides.

I have worked in customer care for many years, and monitored (after the first year) when customers call in with crazier requests, and are less reasonable with negotiated offers.

This behavior increases for two days before the full moon, and tapers off for the two days after as a whole.

I have spoken to a friend who worked for over 10 years in a hospital at the front desk and she stated that there were more gunshot victims and suicides on the full moon, and a lot of people coming in to head up to the plastic surgeons office around the new moon (for a fresh start/new beginning).

There are other studies as well, I am sure, that shows that the moon does influence us. The way I see it, it has the ability to pull the tides, who is to say that it doesn't have ANY effect on us. I think these noted effects is probably a big part of what started the lycan myth regarding the change during a full moon.

If I told someone outright that they are pushy, and socially unapproachable, they would be offending, especially if I was a stranger to them.

Yet if I imply that the solar system determined that they are pushy, and unapproachable.. it is astrology, and they can take a drug that it is not their

I suspect people that dictate, and interpret to others what effect planets have on them have more power, then any actual celestial force.

But people want to have something third party to defualt their character.

When you see Chris Angel set up with random clippings from astrology to do tarot reading.. and all the marks felt personally touched, it becomes apparent what "forces" are at work.

For me personally, the full moon holds a special meaning which may include "moon magick" or holds power for certain individuals, on a more spiritual level.

But do i think it controls me? No.

I just find it interesting that the phases of the moon, and a woman's bodily functions, are pretty identical. It's even in a song called Wolf Moon by Type O Negative.
It's about a woman's menstration and every 28 days we have that, and every 28 days it's a full moon again.

inspiring, yes, i agree! there is a magic that comes with the full moon, an emotional response within me. i also do believe that it is useful in the workings of magick, but i suspect strongly that its more of a focus than an actual magical object itself.

I think the moon controls the gravity and pressur on the atmosphere when getting closer or further away, so it does affect us, as we are made of 70% of water, but other then that, I would not know.

Still physicaly it is affecting humans, animals and also the nature itself, along with the earth's elements.

As for an influence I do believe that we are as much of the universe as it is to us. Everything is connected through energy like us to the moon and the sun. This is on a molecular level ppl. The moon does have an effect on the earth as well as us as beings. Emotionally the moon is very calming and soothing for me.

i totally think the moon does have an influence on us. i don't know if it is because of its pull, because of our subconscious, or just because of how it is.... but i definitely believe that it does to some extent

I definitely agree the moon does have influence. The phases of the moon can't control because we have free will. But the moon does affect the vibrational frequency of the earth and things that live on the earth. In my astrology chart, I have moon in scorpio conjunct mars and during the full moon OMG. My emotions are so edgy and fried, it's scary and people who are sensitive get scared. Even more so. But, with self mastery and discipline, you can keep things like that under control.

i'm a cancer too, people tell me that the moon totally controls my emotions, and that at a full moon i'm supposed to be really happy.
I've felt really horrible on the full moon. I've felt really happy on the new moon. If it controlled my feelings, i'd probably always be happy when it tells me i have to.
Really the only influence it has on my mood is whether or not i'm happy to see it, based on how much light i need to navigate.

I know that it controls the plant but as to humans I am not sure. I know that some creatures tend to act differently with different moon phases so I would hazard to guess that it may affect some of us.

I feel that it's important to not only see what phase that the moon is in while doing magikal workings but where other planetary allignments are as well. I am someone who likes to meditate on the full moon and do ritual on a full moon while working with the elements.

I find it an interesting coincidence that astrology doesnt have an affect on your life, yet you are still so affected by the moon.

my thoughts are

the moon emits energy and energy has effects on matter such as bodies of water,pllants and animals

so i would have to say yes,that in some aspect we as humans are effected by the moons energy and durring the different phases of the moon we react different ways

i believe the moon can also have psychological effects on living creatures

can you imagine the possibilities of tapping into that moon energy and using it for your own benefit

By the way, CosmicSerpentGuru, You are onto something with your comment about using the moon's energy for our own benefit. There is a branch of Wiccan study that focuses on the moon. Wiccans actually perform spells that involve using the power of the moon for a spell or ritual. The Wiccan Goddess is also meant to represent the moon for the most part. So people already do that. That was a very intelligent observation.

I would say yes the moon can affect us. Think about the way the moons gravity affects the waves of the ocean. It can create tidal waves or small ripples. It is the moons pull on the water of the earth that creates these acts of nature. The human body is made of namely water; thus the moons cycle would have some effect on the human body. Not to mention in my job things always seem to heat up during the full or approaching moon. Is it a phycological change or a physical drive that causes it? Who really knows, but the moon does seem to have some effect on humans.

We all know it influences water.... I think it might influence our behavioural patterns and maybe some emotion but that's about it.

Considering the decades of scientific experimentation and study that I have done on this particular subject....NOT lol, I agree that the moon does have influence over a certain percentage of our physical body - owing to the fact that that percentage is fluid and the moon affects the tides etc.

Does it control? No, we all have free will, a giant orb in the sky doesnt sit there and say 'Right you, Joe Magma off you go to work and then in your spare time you will worship me in all my luminous gloriousness'. So i don't feel 'control' is the right word.

Personally I think the moon does influence us at least somewhat, being we are comprised of mostly water; Just as it influences the tides.

I would have to agree with Goddesscirce, as we are over 70% water and the fact that we evolved from apes, whose mating cycles are closely related to the full moon I would have to say personally that the moon does hold some sway over our reptillian brian.

Every action has a reaction. I know that I tend to be more energetic during the full moon. This may be purely psychological, though. In working with the public, I have definitely experienced an increase in bizarre calls during the full moon. People just don't seem to cope as well at this time!

The moon's gravitational pull is what controls much of life on this earth. I don't personally believe that we can really say that our personalities are based on what the moon does. I believe it's more along the lines of: We don't see huge climate changes from freezing cold to very hot and we aren't covered by water, because of the way the moon is in relation to this planet.

As a witch, I rely on phases of the moon to time rituals and spells. As a people watcher I have seen the full moon affect people ALOT over the years.

It does stem to reason that perhaps we are affected to some extent because of the water in our bodies, however, the moons gravitational pull affects the planet more then us, I believe.

i read an intesting book which claims the moon is a spaceship.its meterial dose not conform to any on the solar system and it has one face to earth.

I don't know about the moon controlling us, but it does seem to have an effect on us. I work in a halfway house, and the residents always get restless and edgy when there is a full moon.

In my case the moon uplifts my spirit when I gaze and its beauty.Also sometimes makes me act agressive or cant sleep if the energy from it is to strong.

I think it effects our bodys somewhat.

It definitely makes a emotional connection with many. I believe there are factors during the full moon that are not fully understood not just the moon, leading to physical connections with some both positive and negative.

since most lifeforms are water base then it is natural that the moon 'affect' us since the moon is mainly affecting the gravity and the pressur on water, so it will cause to control some of us and most lifeforms and influence it.

The moon effects the tides, it has some play on injuries seen in medical wards, but I don't think it controls us in the least bit. I think that if anything, we play ourselves to think that the moon is controlling us.

There are some, myself included, that actually have more energy,both sexual and physical, during the full moon and can point to its location without knowing the time or seeing it at all. As to control no I don't believe it does control us but it does effect us more than even we know.

I think we nee to realise that astrological profiles are meant to be advisory in nature, and we have the free will to act upon or not the precepts as determined by your bith, moon and ascendancy signs.

it has been scientificly proven that the moon does affect both human and animal forms. surveys where done on mental institutions and reports stated that during the full moon paitents were more mentaly unstable.

Artemis the goddess of the moon is my mother (spiritual mother) lol, so the moon affects me most of all it leaves me in awe but usually when its a full moon i feel awake through the night, like i can sleep but i long to bask in the moons light, i feel like somethings out there that i need to go outside when the moons full
