Many of us lead Vampiric lifestyles.. wether it is Psy, Blood, or just plain Sun Haters that prefer night time living.
(Im not asking if you are the real thing, a lifestyler, or a poser.. by the way)
What do you do to truly enrich your lifestyle. Arts.. Music.. History.. Lectures.. Archeology.. Perhaps you lecture or teach yourself.
Please be specific. (instead of "i like music"... try "I like victorian music with heavy harpsichords during mediations because..."
What Benefit do you get from it - and how does it relate to your vampiric lifestyle?
(Please provide a link to anything that is relevant).
I like writing songs and singing them, it's always made me feel better. Everything I write and sing has something dark about it, whether it be vampiric in nature or just worldly.
I'm a poseur these days, but hey.
I practice High Magick daily. I suppose you could say the trappings make me look dark and vampiric.
I do frequent clubs, haunts, and other places that fit the lifestyle too.
I'm not a vampire, nor do I live a vampiric lifestyle. My obbession comes from my writings. I am a fiction story writer and vampires just can't stay out of my stories.
So I guess that thing that I like the most about the gothic scene that comes with such an obbesssion is the unnatural beauty of the gothic community.
I find it facinating.
i am not a vampire i came here to learn more about it myself because i have a special person in my life that is one
Well.. Im not a vampire. But I do live a vampiric lifestyle.
I do 2 things simultaneously that enrich my life.. I research travel destinations of the gothic nature.. and the history of that destination.
This has led me to a fascination with the macabre to say the least. Especialy in Art and Architecture (oh i so cant spell that!).
I benefit because it reminds me that the world is vast and huge.. and easy to become lost in. And it helps me keep my feet on the ground. (and makes great dinner conversation!)

I don't live a vampiric lifestyle at all. I'm trying to get a better understanding of it as I move alone in this community and meet more people.
But people with differing view points and outlooks on life interest me - the goth and vampiric side of it being a good deal of that interest.
Me I practice my psionics dailly and increase my empathy by feeling ppls emotions around the world when I chat with them online and try too help others like myself learn control and how to feed and to use your gifts ethically.
I am a vampire and pretty much do just normal things, except I love raw meat.Just wipe its ass and lop the horns off and I'm, ok!!Lmao
I love nice soothing music. Typically with female vocals and a piano in the background.
When I get around to it, I often read Anne Rice novels and other vampire books but l I plan on reading some H.P. Lovecraft in the future ( I have a book of his short stories). I also read the occult through Ebooks and online too, using resources such as sacred-texts.com. From that site, I also read on philosophy too.
I find that dark atmospheric music such as by Midnight Syndicate and E Nomine soothes me, as well as industrial, heavy metal, and goth music (including The Cure).
With my recent gain of a girlfriend, time with her also adds to my romantic side of my dark nature, as I am dark but loving.
Watching vampire movies will excite my otherside very much, getting a sort of a "charge" from them. Same thing to a lesser extent with vampire video games, but I haven't played one in a while and that there arn't very many out there that will work for Windows XP (really, there is only Bloodlines).
I cant say for sure if I am considered to be living a vampiric lifestyle....unless it is sorta like feeding off energy around you because I am definitely not into the whole blood thing....I read horror novels like Stephen king frequently, coming to the rave helps me stay in tough with the darker, goth side of me and that is helping me to get more and more familiar with it as I have felt I had to hide it for years. I also love my rock/metal music...it helps me to feel that side of me.
Painting : Painting the moon when thin souless clouds slowly creep by, straining to see it through dead tree limbs. This enhances my sences and thoughts when outside at times. It calms me, soothes me.
Music : Chorus chanting. . . I love this type of music for my meditations. My soul seperates to wander through the city, searching for people to feast upon.
Hm,...Vampires not like myself, hate alot of things,...but if your like me, the only thing you hate is sunlight,....
So.. you hate everything.. and do nothing to enrich your life?
I think the discussion point of the thread got lost somewhere... I have no beef if a Moderator would like to close it.
Heh. It's one of those that's too subjective. Like "how goth are you?"
First rules have to be established as to what constitutes a 'vampiric lifestyle' :P.
I love to learn new things and to see diffrent things personally. I try to understand everything . Art and books would have to be my passion. I have found that the more u study and such the more enriching your experience will be. Like with VanGough, his paintings are so compelling for study, he has a darkness as well as light to his work. Another example Edgar Allen Poe, dark and demented, but there is always some kind of meaning behind his words.
Music is another thing that enriches me. Evenesence, Beethoven, Bach, Linken Park any music, U learn a little something form each person that is in the band or weither they play solo.
Really i think everyone is a vampire one way or another, alot of people dont realize it though because , just because. Every one seeks to enrich there lives, through music, art, reading, or just general life.
Allgenre: I think your thread is fine. If there are particular responses you think de-rail the thread, let me know and I will remove the posts.
Skully: How about quit telling other people how to run their threads. Try opening one of your own. Alot of us are, in fact, smart enough to be able to read subtext into a question.
As to the question: Does lurking in my padded leather library in a crushed velvet smoking robe count? *smiles*
I think what has enriched my understanding of the lifestyle the most is reading, studying perhaps. I think it may be an enhancement of a "gothic" mindset as opposed to a strictly vampiric one. I love to learn about gothic archtecture (can never spell that), I really read alot about history, and it is very interesting to be able to draw parallels between actual history and then what you might see produced by Hollywood. The pursuit of knowledge is the greatest enrichment to my life I can think of.
I cant spell architecture either. But I love studying it.
well, this website basically describes what I am. I'm a raver vampire whooo! nah, i usualy wake up around half an hour before the sun goes down and just party my ass off. i befriend most people because that just gives a better chance of not getting caught with my vampire ways. there's no specific way to describe a vamp, we're all the same, yet we're all different in out own way, just like humans.
My lifestyle is not so vampiric these days...
unless you count the obfuscation...
from the rest of my vampire lifestyle friends.
In fact, I am pretty much working very hard on an antivampiric lifestyle... more sXe-goth-buddist. How many sXe vampires are there out there... LOL.
Forever Knight? Pphhhhah.
Here here Sevenn I also do alot of reading of histories to find parallels and Architecture is a very cool subject to study as well.
Thank you Allegre for having this thread very nice.
I read and do my art work I live during the nights most times. I rarely go out during the day unless I absolutely have no other option.
Although Sevenn I don't have a velvet smoking jacket I am jealous LOL send me one LOL.
I try to surround myself with as much culture vampiric or otherwise to meet my needs.
::has a velvet smoking jacket:: I use it as a robe as it's so big on me... but hey.. it works.
Museums. They inspire me to move outside my own areas of creativity and explore more.
I really do try to expand my boundaries as much as I can.
Now.. if I could just quit smoking..
all aspects of my life revolve around me writing them down.... i love to write poetry mostly bus songs as well... it helps me to expree what I am feeling without having to tell or show any one and without having to keep it locked inside :)
Museums yes I love those as well...Still jealous about these velvet smoking jackets LOL..I don't often get to a city that is very cosmopolition enough to have a real art museum. Where I live right now is well back woods for a city of any size I have known before. I would have to travel over 200 miles for a decent art gallery around here much less a museum that didn't deal with how the Texas Rangers took down so and so back in the 1930's to the 1950's. The one History museum I would go to is never open here they lost there funding which is a shame.
What museum is that?
I used to live in Arlington Texas.. and EVERYTHING was all about the Cowboys. ich.
im a night person 2 hours in the sun and my eyes hurt so bad i want to scream, mostly because of so many surgries, and i love goth style houses there so old and huge, and i love the victorina style in general
allgenre I live in Waco, Texas. Here it isn't much on culture of any kind we got tons of bars or liquer stores one run down Texas Rangers museum. One history museum of the area that is never open...
We have a historical registry. Most town even with a private university such as we have do have art galleries museums and such.
I guess Wacoans have no interest or if they ever had them didn't go to them so they like the Waco history museum they lost there funding cant be opened for lack of staff whatever the reason.
Music. And Blood.
I listen to enlightening music that talks about REAL things not stories and fakes. I listen to things that talk about life and truths.... and darkness....
I share the decidous life force with my Love. Thats as much as I'll say.
i listen to music, mostly female voices with no background music, except maybe a harp..
i also research places of historical interest, or perhaps just places that spark my interest...
my vampiric lifestyle is quite simple
I've always loved the old lifestyles (1600-1800) and how people were back in those times. Everything about them is how I veiw many vampires to be "now" if htere are any at all. I also like to listen to classical music with violins, harps, and pianos in them.
I read alot on history, and archeology, also on mytholigy, I love most tho the books relating the beleif across the time, all sorte of ritual, legend, and religion, I love when I get scientific facts those really pleases me, and also helps me have sens of intelectual challenge. I like to beleive it is a good thing ot enhance the knowledge one has, it gives a good view of the past ad the futur to be able to know what to do and not to do to protect oursleves as vampires.
would not vampric lifestyle be any lifestyle a vampire picked... yes I wear alot of black.. it shows less wrinkles and dirt and stuff.. and goes with everyhting.. not to mention the myth of the thinning thing. I like candles. they smell good. I stay out of the sun.. I burn easy. Yes I listen to some goth music.
But my house is normal.. if you saw it you would say to yuppie semi slobs live there.. the bigest impact on style is the over abundance of computer gear lol. I do not fit the "typical" vampire profile. But then who really does?
I live the life that makes me happy and doe snot harm others around me. I am a great deal like the people next door.. down the street... across town. I just drink blood on occasion and absorb energy when I need to.
I always had aproblem with the sun from and early age.but my awakening happened when iwas nineteen.i dont fit the typical vampire profile,i,m not gothic although i do like the gothic look.hence the name suavevamp(suave and sophisticated)i like suits etc.the thirst is controlled by drinking bloodshakes(i blitz two fat juicy stakes and drink it.and i go through that twice a day.although maybe one day i,ll find someone who will doner for me.
Not to be mean.. but the subject was how you ENRICH yourself.. your lifestyle.. not how you feed?
Ooh! Enriching I can do!
Mikhail, I lived in Amarillo for 2 years. No culture (painted cows are not culture).
I enrich myself by viewing what I don't understand. For instance, other cultures (museums), art galleries (I have no natural artistic talent), and study some anthropology on a more or less superficial level.
I've also undertaken many more than one lifetime pursuits, such as martial arts and the study of Magick.
I'm fascinated by graveyards too, and the trends they reflect.
To enrich my life I came here to VR. I felt like a reject in the regular world because of this obession, is what I will call it. I urge to be a Vampire and to be with one. I read everything I can on here and that I find in books about Vampires and Blood Drinking. I want to learn how to do it right so that it's a good experience for me and my partner.
I love to read histories and go to museums. It's just hard for me to find others that want to do the same:)
isn't it great staying up all night and and doing anything and nothing at the same time w/o a care in the world at all about what anyone else will think.
for me I do a lot of writing poetry and stories and I paint it is a good way to get how I feel out in a productive manner as well as letting others see that there is beauty even in the things that are dark
well i dont really live a vampire life style the only thing relating is im a night person i just find it facinating on vr n my friend is a vampire so i learned alot more about his life through here
I'm not a vampire, but i'm just a sun hater but i go out in it but as most people i prefer night over day
I enjoy any type of music but i prefer heavy with a loud beat. i like shakespear and enjoy reading anything that has to do with vampires, or anything in the unknown .. i write a little bit but i only write when im in the mood too which usally is a bad mood haha .
I consider myself a vampire in the sense that I suck energy from people and things. And I have proof of this... well no other proof than word of mouth. I don't consider my lifestyle a reflection of that. I like to dress the part when I go out to clubs and such... and some might my music reflects my life choices ( Evanescence, Tool, Dresden Dolls... and so on ) but I choose my music based solely on the emotions they produce in me.
Hmm..
Definately music. I mostly play Dargaard because the ambience of their music, and their songs inspire my life, and my soul with perfect darkness.
I am a collector of all things Goth, not necessary chokers, and such, but also books from the Goth Era. As Cancer said, "There is nothing more beautiful then Goth".
And i must agree.
This perfect darkness suits my soul, and it's morbid beauty comforts me.
I stay awake all night. I can't sleep, insomnia, a sheer blessing. I love to take walks through polyandriums, blending in with the surroundings, and casting my senses to seek out a wandering spirit for company.
All in all, Cancer was right. Goth is beautiful, Vampirism is awesome.
writing mostly.
I play Vampire: The Masquerade with a bunch of friends and it's freakin awesome.
I have been a vampire ever since i can remember. I wear dark clothes and drink blood.
i love the vampires.. I'm not some sort of a true but, mostly I write songs.. Sometimes, My songs expressess dark emotions.. Ii really don't know why, but I'm fascinated with it..
Hmm..what do I do to enrich my life? That's kind of a tricky question because right now my life revolves (literally, like a revolving door) around school and work.
When I get a chance, I try to listen to music. Mostly heavy, moody melodies that allow me to feel more like myself than the annoying bubblegum pop and screaming metal music that I normally listen to on the radio. I've found that the best bands for this are HIM, Lacuna Coil and Evanescence...though I'd like to find more specifically melodic bands than them.
I also read alot. Mostly fiction, and usually stories involving vampires. I am currently reading Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer over and over. Reading helps me destress.
I am interested in travelling, though I don't know to where. I'd like to see Ireland, and Finland. But that won't be happening until I am out of school.
Right now, those few things are all I have to keep myself sane right now. I am hoping that once I finish with school I will be able to start doing more.
To enrich my lifestye, Well i like to draw i am an artist of the strange an ureal. i use surreal shading and themes that have no place in the phsical realm.
I also like music of several varieties including trance, industrial, most any type of rock or metal, and a lil bit of country namely johnny cash
I do not concider myself an atcual vamp but i love the taste of blood and will drink at any given oppertunity
bathory, i do the sames kinds of things... poetry, writing short stories, i cant draw... but i can paint.... abstractions lol.
there is an awesome night club in tampa called the castle. they play great music and all types of people from all different lifestyles and walks of life come out and celebrate darkness.
I don't know I don't consider myself a Vampire, I just enjoy drinking blood, and I'm fascinated by Vampires, but as for things I do other than drink I don't really I wear all black but thats a me thing, I listen to the music I like which includes everything except rap and I'm Christian so as I said I don't know
i am a fiction writer and vampire. I write about death and dismay, misary and tortue. i dont know why i just have a knack for it. I like to drik blood off of friends. Just yesturday my friend cut her leg with a razor trying to cut a ribbon rack for someone and i drank some of her blood. i dont know why i like the taste or why it arouses me it just does so this is basicly my lyfestyle.
Allengre: to enrich my life I both study and lecture, but an interesting fact that someone told me yesterday, that the brain can only absorb so much before it degenerates.
The person who we know that this happened to, was intelligent had two Masters, lectured etc and is now washing cars and unable to converse. He fried his brain power.
I forgot to add that, that is all pretty stuff but I also carry out research and development work to relax. Although this research is not vampire related it is calming for me, and I enjoy writing a little poetry on the darkside when I get time :)
I spend 90% of my life on this site. Um, I look to meet others that have the same vampiric conditions to discuss ways of living with it. Also I play dark music, such as HIM.
vampires other than being awake other than night should be stero type to one lifestyle.... i think/ believe that there are many normal things they do .... i dont think its just about drinking blood to them
I'm going to have to agree with Sacred's statement. Most of my enrichment comes from asking questions and searching for answers
Good afternoon,
I have not posted for about a year in anything. So here goes. I am myself, the same me I have been for my cognitive thought has not changed since I have become self Aware.
I enjoy watching movies with a dark twist, music that stimulates the energy currents depending on the moods I wish to enjoy for the day.
The sunlight burns the flesh, but provides a recharge of the energies, so Its a love hate from that view. However its time for me to accept that I am a member of both worlds in my own way, as my work takes me into the harsh light of day, and my path has been that in the dark shadows of night, and what she has to offer.
I enjoy many things from opera, theatre, comedy, and dancing at the clubs. Be the enviroment pleasing to my desires at the time. Reflecting back on my persepectives, I am myself and enjoy what is to be enjoyed when the oppertunites allow for it.
No longer has my life been made into hell, as my Ahrimanic journey excelled past base initations to a level of profeciency so things are finally as I desire in almost every aspect of my life. 24 hrs from now, it should be exactly as I desire at this point. So tata all, time to live the path, not reflect upon it.
i listen to many kinds of music, but mainly new age music. I also go to the library and do research on dreams, and mythical things. part of my lifestyle is the old medieval to the renaissance architecture, arts, and the art work.
I am entralled by the vampiric lifestyle.
Its a truly immense sub-culture that is bound by a small group of creative and intelligent people.
The night is my favorite part of the lifestyle, the darkness evelopes everything and your inner being is one with the world. The peacefulness of the night just gets my heart pumping. Not many people awake or around, you are free to do as you please. Walk or drive endlessly with no one to stop you (Other then Cops :( ).
~Sir Jäger
I use art.. Music..and History. Like with the art I love the dark look of some and when I draw I open my slef more and with music I do like victorian music. Like with my art I find myslef into a more thinking mood some people would say. And as far and History I just love it leruning is something that I am good at I think that is what has let me see me and learn more things about vampires and many other things.
Writing and music is my passion and I try to read whenever I have the time.Be it information on vampires, magicks to Shakepeare or Keats.
Masaya: You say you drink blood? Were do you get it from and is it tested for contamination prior to testing? Just curious and wondering how much you drink of the stuff too...
good question emerald. i would like to know that too, as im curious. (I kinda wanna experience it but have no trust in anyone that is strong enough for me to taste anyone other than my own.)
I write poetry. Depending on my mood it can be romantic, dark, silly, and I don’t sit down and set out to write. I write when it hits me. So sometimes I can go months without writing, and other times I’ll write several poems in a day.
I also RP with some friends of mine in an online vampire game. We make our turn based moves and then RP on our clan website on our activities.
i have been said to hold your love in one hand and your blood in the other and the fact i need energy from others im a night freak and i like bitting
i write songs to egyption beats and mix them up with emo and him hop.
i also make clothing
i write vampiric novels of sex and power along with werewolf tales and such
I paint, draw and sculpt. Sometimes my art can be dark, but I do what's mostly comes natural.
I LIVE by my art. Art is my one escape into my own mind, and spirit. I am best at sculpting, where I can take the images in my mind and set them free. My art helps me think clearly and refine my thoughts, it helps me truly understand myself. I have pictures of my latest sculpture in progress. My life size bust.
I think this thread is really super, some nifty information here! thanks allengre :)
Well, I try to read and write as much as possible to further my knowledge of the vampire lifestyle. I love to read and am fairly good at writing as well so it helps me to express myself (even if sometimes expressing yourself seems to backfire) I listen to alot of different music and study some different cultures as well.
I meditate for at least an hour a day, but i find that a human contact is necessary to keep a certain level of sanity
i truly love the taste of blood, and have since i was a little boy and licked my first cut. I have always felt different from other people and vampires have always attracted me. My wish in life is to be Bitten.
well I'm an insomniac, I probably sleep 1-2 hours a day - - - don't get me wrong, atleast once a week I sleep over 12 hours - - - I enjoy poetry (more morbid than not), I'm a cutter so I love the sight of blood. I have always preferred staying in the shadows than not. I sleep with the blanket over my head with my arms crossed over my chest. Just a habit I've always had. Oh and I love seducing, men and women alike.
I like to inquire, mostly to people here on the different life styles, vampire or not and I find there's a definite kind of culture everyone is experiencing in different ways.
I like a number of things ranging from music to video games but the main thing is that it all makes me feel contempt with myself.
I love literature, i have read many of the old gothic novels and many novels about vampries. I love the vivid imagery. I love the exuberant clothing and lanugage. i like to research the myths and peoples beliefes.
I cannot say I lead a vampiric life. I love the Victorian lifestyle, music, barocc architecture and their fashion. I love history and I love Wiccan culture. I do love the day light but not directly under the sun.
Barocc architecture, now there is a subject. There is so many beautiful structures in this design, is there a lot of it in Malta MissDeviLove?
I love the victorian time frame, I go to ever gothic ball I can. Its a level of sophistication that I like. I live culture, think of me as the hannibal of the vamipric world. I am well mannered, I am intellegent, and cultured. I work at night, I sleep in the day for the most part.
oh yes emerald here in malta we have alot of barocc sturctures!! esp in our silent city - Mdina 0_o check it out online
cool.. I will get to see it all first hand :) I have a thing about architecture and in particular Gothic Architecture. We have so much of that in dear old Ireland
I am a vampire but I'm don't live a vampiric lifestyle , and i dont dress like a goth.
When u see me it seems that im like everyone else.
But goths are not always in black and do not live like outsiders
When I first moved to Tennessee I felt so alone. It's was very hard for me to meet other vampires or just people who understood me and my lifestyle. VR has been absolutely wonderful in enriching my life. I have met many wonderful people on here, that I now consider to be great friends and confidants. VR has enriched my life by showing me that I am not alone in this state. I have met people in my area and many out of my area. I have learned more about myself. Such as, I am not the only person who feels heightened awareness. I have spoken in the forums about my dreams and learned that many others in the site experience the same things. The forums have also showed me some great sites for researching safe blood practices, runes, energy exchange, myths, history on vampires, and just so many more things that I can't list them all. So, I must say, VR has enriched my lifestyle by giving me the means to learn so much about myself.
why to people consider art vampiric anybody can be an artist without being a vampire or like one
I am not a Vampire... I am something else altogether. But that I will leave for another time...
I write fictional stories... though these have matured and developed much in the last few years... instead of writing stories where supernatural heroes would face devastating foes... I switched my focus to the first person view point... and a little more realism.
My main story at the moment stars my namesake Nikolai Valentino... He is an Arcadian/Vampire cross-breed... Arcadians in my world being a race of Dark Elvish types... you know natural, primal and whatnot.
The story is told as I see it... it is development and discovery... it is as I would see a written account of that character's life... and that's what brought me here, research.
Since then I have another two stories in development alongside the first...
One of a Vampire/Lycan cross-breed in a Legacy of Kain type of world and experimenting for the first time with multiple lovers ;)
And the other is a little sketchy but tells of an Ancient Primal Lycanthrope resurrected in a post-apocalyptic future... and his story...
I live my lifestyle through my ability to craft something extraordinary and of course my dark seduction
Nikolai
My vampiric tendencies and needs are just part of who I am... They're are not who I am.
Lately my life has not been all that enriching *awakening*
Spending time alone has enriched my life quite a bit because when I spend to much of my time with others I tend to lose myself.
Everyday I listen to Ronan Harris and Peter Hapner their music runs through my veins. I feel it in the deepest part of my core. I become alive...
I design clothing, I am not vain but I have an obsession with my appearance.
If I was unable to express myself creatively I would have nothing and my will to live would deminish.
I do not really understand what constitutes a vampiric lifestyle.
I would love to live back in the 15 century and am engulfed by history.
1) I find that living the style- ie sleeping during the day and living at night- far more interesting because you have more interesting people and attitudes and activities to see and participate in. Normal takes on a whole new color then...
2) I think the idea of living through centuries to be fascinating, if for no other reason than it would give me a chance to see the world as it advances, and as has happened so much lately, to see what periods repeat themselves
3) I like the idea of being able to feed off evil, if for no other reason than to remove it form the face of the eart- think of us as our own little vigilante group...lol
I Like Listening To The Dark Metal And The Such Becuase Alot Of Them Have Good Vampyric Lyrics And Feelings In Them, I Also Write Songs And Poetry To Better Express My Vampyric Side Along With The Occasional Psy And Blood Taking From Willing (Blood And Psy) And Unwilling (Psy)
I like Blood and psy but i enjoy listenening to metal and drawing
I've learned a lot from the discussions here on VR. Most helpful have been focusing excersizes and many links to investigate our history. One of my favorite though is either magick or just losing myself in a goa/psy trance mix.
