This is something I've been wondering about lately: Is telepathy limited to communication from one person or another? Or do you think it could be transmitted from any energy source to any other energy force?

To have it,you must be boren with the gift.To feel it from another with the gift..it is limited on how they can controll it.If they use telepathic link threw or on your mind..it is limited on how you let them 'in'.If you block them..even if you do it on purpose or not,its nearly impossible for another to drive forces threw another.

i think it helps more if you are a twin. i have a twin sister and i think sometimes we read each others mind. like we finish sentances and stuff

I agree we all are born with the ability that much has been proven it just depends on which part of the brain is the one being accessed they have found that people with some sort of trauma are more likely to display the ability to some degree because there brain will used that part that does not normally get used as much but right down to simple intuition is attributed to that part of the brain. Since we are all plant animal and human made up of energy we can communicate on all levels with all things it is just a matter of learning how the use what you already have.

It can be both, depending on what you are born with, and if you choose to allow it to develop.

I'm pretty sure it's just person to person. What kind of energy source/force (you used both words, I'm not sure which one you meant) are you talking about? Plants, animals, ghosts, the sun? I can't imagine a dog telepathically communicating with a petunia.

I'm not even sure what I think about people communicating with animals. I suspect that's more the sensing of emotions then any kind of conversation, and you don't need telepathy for that. So yes, person to person seems to be more accurate.

I feel it and use it in conjuntion with Empthy..a way to push an emotion to somone else, or to pull the emotion away.
And yes its true, that if the other person is "blocking" Very hard the harder it is to due the action.

I do not see why it could not be between two beings that have intellengence in whatever form. I see no reason for it not to be able to cross boundries of time and space and species

I think it must be person to person but I think that you can be born with it or it can occur in certain situations of urgency.

I believe there is no bounds distance or struction that it is bound too that it can affect or be affect or transfered to anything anyone or multiple things or people not matter when where or how.

Though all energy is indeed going through all living creatures, there is a communication barrier between, say, me and my dog.

As much as I would love to be able to talk to him telepathically, we do not share a common view point or vocabulary of the world. We would not understand a conversation between each other.

It is rumored that all creatures communicate in their own silent way and though we would love attribute the gift of language to other creatures, there are none others that would be able to communicate with the abstract line of thinking that humans do.

So telepathy can occur on many levels, but in reality as far as it is detected (or even cared about) by humankind, it only occurs between the species.

Oh, with the exception being dolphins. Scientists have discovered that their communication occurs on an abstract level ,much like ours does. Not only can they recognize abstract symbols, they also have names by which they call each other. And once introduced to another dolphin, will call that dolphin by its name for as long as they know each other.

In terms of the recognition of symbols, I am referring to their ability to see a shape on a card and be able to detect the three dimensional version of it inside a box by using sonar. I don't remember where I saw that study but it opens a whole different range of possibility.

In regards to dolphins, I often wonder if they aren't as curious about our lifestyle as we are of theirs. I've had the privilege to see them play in the waves with surfers in California before. The surfers couldn't shred the waves as normal that morning, but I'm sure it was equally if not more thrilling to have dolphins ride the wave with you, 5 to the left and 6 to the right or perhaps it was more.

But even with dolphins, their communication is not necessarily telepathic so much as a series of clicks and other sounds and sonar plus nonverbal communication.

I believe it can not only from person to person but to other animals as well. There is such a thing as people who practice who communicate with their famillars. Some Natives feel they have certain connections to there spirit guides. They go on a vision quest where they communicate with the animals. I don't know if that would be considered as telepathy though.

dolphins? someone say the magic word? i had some pin some bait up under my kayak2 sundays ago.. was cool watching em hammer some poor smelt.. but as for telepathy, energy and thought would have to be equated.. and definitional ideologies are difficult to circumvent, i think that we have to stick to our definitions, or change the definitions to suit the need at hand, but when we do so, it harms the ability to comprehend/communicate.. if you need further evidence, just look at what i just wrote for a minute.. Every being IS born with it. And yes It can go elseehere after all it is energy. Energy is never ending, ever flowing. Just because some beings are more free to use the telepathy doesn't mean only they are born with it and can only send it to other singular beings.

after some pondering, I do think it could go from nearly any being intelligent enough to use it to another. I've felt 'impressions' of communication from animals, and clear messages from people.

I believe it can go between two sentient beings, but I don't believe anything that is not sentient would be able to transmit thoughts to another non sentient being or to a sentient being.

I believe for telepathy to work there must be a close link between two beings. I believe we all have mental barriers that only certain people can penetrate. It is no coincidence you are able to predict whatpeople close to you will say, not only because you know them, but because you share a link. If this link is close mental barriers can be penetrated therefore telepathy an occur.

Everyone has the ability you just need to find it within you, and it doesn't have to be only from person to person it could be with animals, nature, and any living thing, or dead.

It is possible to do it to animal too, usually its person to person cause its the same language, when its with an animal its totaly dieferent and it is really hard.

I'm not sure but in theory.... I mean you know we only use 10% of our brain mass and the same goes with the rest of our muscles so I wonder what capabilities we have hidden in our subconscious

the human mind is a very powerful thing. it all depends on if we are lucky enough to know how to use it. I think we all are capable of this, but just don't know how. Ya know?

I dony think it is just person to person. It would depend on how strong your mind is. It has been know of animals coming to the rescue of their owners. Howdo these animals know that there owners are in danger. It has to do with the mind. I dont feel we have enough understanding of the brain and what it is capable of.

i think animals can share a kind emotional knowledge of their respective others, ive once had a dog bark and growl at someone i didnt like (making fun of rob zombie and static-x is a no no and my grandmas dog felt the same lol) and my cat is always there when im pissed or upset

Talking telepathy, I know I can recieve well.
Though that from a person who can send well.
As for other forms of energy.
Not personally.
Can just speak of my own experience, on this one.

Personal experiences are the only way to go.Thus we learn and can better understand it.

Telepathy can be used between any two or more things with a higher brain function. Anything without so cannot possibly be able to do so.

But, then again, it's not known if its even possible to for telepathy to be real since humans only use about 10 percent of their brains in their lifetime.

To receive a broad cast of energy.. there needs to be a tune d receiver, that then needs to process that broadcast entery into usable info.. if I 'think" at a cat "move" the cat may be picking up my intent.. more instinct then phenomena , yet humans have the same instinct.. that hunch.. when someone is just not right.. read through their inactivity.. in contrast to their projected intent.

I believe that any of the above can be done. Whether it is human to human or human to animal.

welll humans don't use much of their brain. maybe those who know how to tap into parts that probley shouldn't be touched know how to use it

Then it would make sense that others could just read your thoughts as well. We as a society already have communication issues with actual vocal, and technology based communication. Any telepathy would become novel in the first 3 years. Not before some criminal figured out how to hack your mind though. Not to mention the boost to the ad industry. I for one think in metaphor.. there are many ways to exploit an open wireless port as it is.

Telepathy can be done by anyone. yes it's true that those with the gift have a natural talent but like anything else you can train yourself to do something if you put the work in. ( you just may not be as powerful as someone with a natural inclination)

how would you learn how to control it?

Telepathy is something we are all able to do in varied and degrees of ability. Usually we find that telepathy is strong in families and close friends. Knowing that a friend is about to ring before the phone rings, or your thinking about doing something and your spouse suggests it.

Telepathy is not just between humans it is with any living creature. You can commune with all of nature if you work towards it. I once had a friend that could commune with animals and was a wonderful vet because of it. She didn't see things with words but with feelings and images.

It is something you can work on to develop if your patience and willing.

Would there be human instinct involved in that process? We are very expressive mammals humans. we can express many things with motion instead of words. Could the tendency to anticipate a call be our inner clock, being attentive to a routine?

There is a point in there for sure Dabbler. But I have been able to pick up on someone calling who rarely calls lol. My parents ring me on very, very rare occasions and when the phone rings I instantly know its them and I let the answering machine get it.

Reading book, mind exercises, problem solving, meditation, concentration can all help with telepathy developement

Everyone has the abillity to read minds, its not that hard, i think it would be limited to the human mind.

In my study the receiving of energy pattern interpreted by the brain into words or pictures is the transference of energy patterns in a specific channel so to say with a specific wave length. So I have come to understand the receiving of emotions or feelings from another is a similar energy transference on a different wave length to be interpreted by the brain.So in essence I believe it is not only possible but very probable. With animals and other natural elements if you can tune your mind to listen to and interpret the different wave length nd such into a cohesive manner.

So we would be smothered in back ground noise from insects.. bleed static from microbial broadcast.

Depends on if you learn to filter it out and or shield it to a degree for only specific purposes and uses. It allows one to be hyper aware of thier environment around them to a degree most may deem unnatural and can have it practical applications of the higher awareness. Then again after you can get used to the sensory overload of the brain and separate it into specific categories you can learn to project as well as receive. Though the mimicking and creation of specific energy patterns to be projected may indeed be interesting. If one can create that bridge in their minds awareness and filter or put it towards a specific use I can see a whole new field of application blossoming.

I don't know if its telepathy or not, but I can read my sister even though we live over 250 miles apart. I often know what is going on with her even when we haven't spoken for days. She has taught me new knitting stitches that I've never heard of before over the phone. I can see clearly what she is saying to me. Does that qualify?

Yes,it can be done between different species,I do it all the time in my line of work with horses and dogs.

Body l;anguage is a big part of it yes,but that isnt all there is to it.

I've never been able to communicate that way nor had anyone communicate to me that way. It's always been body language. I'm extrememly good at judging it and knowing exactly what people are thinking. *shrugs*
