Whatever form of magic you yourself can find easiest to believe in will be the most effective for you. And no, I am not recommending doing anything harmful to anyone or anything to achieve your goals. Quite the opposite. Use the power of your mind!

Black magic is simple and right to the point, and if you want something to happen as long as you believe in what you want, and you concentrate on what you want you should get it...

I use both black and white magick, they both have their streinght and weakness, depending on what you seek to do using the craft

I agree with xtremehate, the key is to believe in your self and the magic, otherwise you have doubts and you can't put your all into it.

The magic I use merely comes from me. If I need help then I simply call upon other forces.

Witchcraft works with the personality of the elements......seek your path according to you ability.

First of all I have noticed that some people have said that they do black/white magicks......I would like to point out that, in my opinion, there is no such thing as black or white magick. Magick itself is both dark and light because it can be cruel and kind at the same time. However, that said, there are certain people who will use magick for dark or light reasons.

As for what magick, in my opinion, brings more power. I do not think that it matters which type of magick one uses, it's all down to the individual. Also there is the fact that anyone who tries to say that they want to use the most powerful magick they can is either a powerhungry fool (the sure fire way to their own downfall), or just very ignorant to the true meanings of witchcraft.

I think Mener makes a very good point.

If your motive is simply to gain power rather than be interested in the craft and be drawn to it then that way seems to be an unbalanced approach.

What little I know of the subject suggests that balance is very important.

you have to be able to manipulate and control your enrgy, but I think that the most important part is believing in yourself.

Chaos magicks,but then it is all about the individual doing it.

I have found that although more unpredictable, chaos magicks help me to keep a balance within myself much better than any of the other magicks that I have practised in the past. However, I also use astral magicks so that i can learn and grow. With both of these magicks coupled together my potential more than doubles, but that doesn not mean that I am more or less powerful.

Please also remember everyone that Knowledge is the greatest power of them all, but to know too much can cause insanity. So please be careful exactly what it is you are searching for as there are too many insane people on this earth already.

One would think that the stregnth of the magic would cater to the individual, their abilities, their desires, and their ability to comprehend the material at hand.

It's also been my impression that more ancient magics tend to be more powerful. Is that not true?

If a person does magick for bad it is black magick, and if a person does magick for good then it is white magick, the people who think it is mixed or it needs to be balanced are into gray magick...

Belief in yourself and belief in the Universe.
KNOW what it is you are wanting to do and make sure that you are certain that you are willing to accept the consequences of your actions, whether it woks out for better or worse.
I'm not practicing any 'form' of Magick yet. I believe that, for me, the best way to decide what Magick will be of use to me is to read and learn as much as I can about each one so I know what I'm in for.

Chaos magick is indeed one of the strongest, however sorcery, str8 up mentally bending planes and merging energy currents to create what ever you desire, is only limited by the amount of energy you can channel and the imagination you have to apply the energy you can channel.

to each their own not everything works for everyone but belief in what you are doing takes you a long way

As far as type...it would have to be earth magick for me. Meaning that it is drawn from elements of the earth and of nature. Plants, stones, animals, and so forth. All nature energy.

The way that I feel is to Trust in ones self is the only way that magic can truly work..Trusting in what You do and how you do it..If you don't have trust in yourself and in what You do then magic will not work..Beilef and Trusting is the thing in comon..Trust is the basis of everything we do..how can we do magic and not trust in ourselves..we can't..

It is often best if we let things work themselves out naturally. While it is our job to keep ourselves on the right path, it is not our place to force the hand of Fate and Destiny in regards to others' lives, even if they affect our own, be it directly or indirectly.

I believe magic works because it works, not because we believe or because of how strong we believe, therefore it is works all kinds of it work the same

Yes, the most important thing is your belief in your craft. I use white magick & I have had great success in it.

I do believe that when a person chooses to practice witchcraft or magic that they do i because that is their belief system, as for which type i believe that this should be left to the person choosing to practice it. As for myself I am a solitary eclectic witch.

For me personally, it is just being me. When in a rut and there is no other solution I do turn to my Satanic Bible and Rituals. Every so often I turn to my Necronomicon, but more for one certain spell. They do work for me.

When I was into other crafts such as Wicca, Green Witchcraft, Egytian Magic, Norse, Etc. they worked for me too. (Unless I did a spell or ritual with others and they doubted it or didn't have the experience, which is why personal spells should always be done alone.)

everyone has their own way of doing magic.. their own style, what ever works for them really.

It depends on the user of said magick. I think everyone has a strong and weak suit when it comes to magick therefore making one being more powerful than the other unlikely.

magic for me is a energy i possess and I use candles and spells to do what i wish.

In order for magic to work you have to believe or it won't work. If you don't believe then you have a doubt about it and you need to focus all your mind on magic for it to work.

I'd have to disagree with that. Some people would go 'evil' so to speak after using black magic. Maybe from it's power. It's the magick that makes the person either good or evil. It's what they use it for which seals that in.

I agree Infernal.Also,I have found it really doesnt matter ,if you hit the right frequency with your thought,its gonna work regardless of what you believe.

everyone else has said it there is no strongest type it is the belief in that type that will make it more powerful then the others for you

I practice only benevolent magic...I only cast protection spells and occasionally a binding to help someone else. I rarely cast for myself as it has been my experience that selfish casting tends to lead to nothing but bad karma.

Evil is a perception, a belief that something you do is evil and most often it is a breaking of societal moraes. Most magickal groups believe at least that I have been part of believe that saying black or white is erroneous and a concept here in the physical. Even in alchemy they have it broken down to a variety of colors as so do some of those who practice less modern forms of chaosmagic (they don't generally use the Crowley "k"). I have known formally trained Hermetic magickians that do magick much like the chaos mage. It is perceptual as well. Sorcery is a very self oriented type of practice. All of them are just different ways to arrive at something. A means to an end. Even those with the best of intent can have it backfire, its called the Monkey's Paw effect. Some magickians will say everyone practices gray magick actually. Some rationalize this by saying it is the intent...oh really. Your conscious mind must be in harmony with the unconsious and it is your unconscious that puts things into action. Therefore you just forget it lest you put in a monkey wrench with your thoughts. As for witchcraft well that depends on what you are meaning by that. If you mean Wicca well...won't say anything further but it you are meaning practices of European witches well then it would be like any other form of magick. What the practitioner is trying to accomplish and one can moralize it but in the big picture the average person thinks its all bad no matter the intent. Some people actually have the ability to put things into action although everyone should be able too but they block it, and are not aware of it...its that I was just thinking about that. You needed or wanted something and your husband, roommate, friend brought it when they came to where you were. Wow, lol...what a surprise. Was that a coincidence...read Jung, lol.

This is a complex topic. I create sigils and do many at one time so I forget what they are and then charge them and forget about it. I have made a record and after a set period of time I go look to see. I have fibro so I forget things easily so its not that hard for me but there are so many types of magick, each with their own particular belief systems involved in them to create a positive outcome, by that I mean get what they set out for. I rarely do this anymore because I don't need to...I believe that there are some things no matter what we do that are not in the plan for ourselves and you just won't be able to make that ripple in reality work.

Well, I guess you there are multiple answers for you question. The belief and trust you have in yourself and what you are asking of or for is the most powerful.

Some say that it is the universe. When you cast a spell you are casting it into the universe. Like opening a flood gate. Thus the reason most spells won't work unless it's a full moon. I think it is belief that powers magic to work.

different magiks invove different energies. They can draw on the cosmos, the earth, the water, or the energy of people. Each different type of magfic has a different way to access this power. It's like a fountain that has many exit points.

People can use multiple forms of magic I do and they all feel right to me. I use what I have to get done what has to be done. I use energy when I need it and I do believe is a balance. The world takes back what it needs just as we take what we need. Everything is a cycle.

i feel that if u dont believe in magick than you cant proform it if you are doing a ritual for something such as a purifacation and dont beleive it will work than guess what it wont

there are so many different forms of magick and so many different uses, as well as opinions on the subject, that you will continue to get multiple varieties of answers. Each one will correct in its own form.

i have to agree with what some of the others have said beliveing is the most important thing however i think intent plays a role as well and focus the less distractions the better

I think the basis to the art of spellcasting or performing any magic is:

To have complete understanding and knowledge of the principles of your particular Practice;

To have belief of and faith in what you are doing;


Have understanding of the properties of each of the Elements and Correspondences as well as your relationship to each of them;

Focus, practice and preparation; making sure you have the proper tools and conditions and are performing the spell at the appropriate time.

magic is the ability to make something happen .I have been a witch for almost 40 years and magic is not like on Charmed or practical magic it is a thought process that you concentrate on and meditate to cause something to happen. it,s called cause and effect.

With that said and all that has been said does it not come down to ones will, faith, belief and knowledge of the craft to which one partakes in that builds the strength to carry out the spells used. I believe so.

any strength i get is what i use personally i dont get picky with the power i recieve to use

i would have to agree with most of the people who posted on here but i find it easy to use earth magic using the earths powers and spirts to help me and guide me in many ways. i feel that everything has a life force and that you can draw on it when needed.

Well for any form of Magic to work y ou have to be a true believer in what you practice.

i am not a witch or practice but in my opinion id think it would have to be belief you have to believe in what you preach/practice once u truely believe youll have all the power you need

The easiest to me, and all is different, is the magic that comes from a strong emotion. Love, hate, sad, happy, ect. When you have an emotion added to it the magic tends to flow easier.

Thus...opening a flood gate. if you cast a spell to make someone sick and then they get terminal cancer, can you reverse what you have done? Nope. I don't believe so. And yes....if there isn't any faith, there isn't a religion. Without faith, nothing will work. Not anyone who just wants to dabble is going to be able to perform magic successfully. yeah I know what you mean. but what I'm getting at is that...if you are sick and dying, unless you have faith and try to get better, you wont. Some say magic is a placebo, and won't work without a strong belief that it will work. I don't think that any practice or faith will work without the belief that it will.

Common knowledge. What has been done, can not be undone. What has been seen, can not be unseen. I don't think magic is an exception. When a spell is cast, it must run it's course. There is no stopping what you have done once it has been done.

Well yeah, if you don't cast the spell to begin with sure. But that's completely different. After you have casted it it has been casted. If you start a car, you started the car. Nothing will erase the fact that you started the car. Silly example but I am sure you get what I mean. Once you do something, you can't erase the fact you did it. you can't turn back time

Whichever the user is more able to use. Everyone has things they're good at or better than most.

I do my craft at night, and use scrying and work with the nocturnal energy and the ether. I use only what i have at hand to do my work and it works out. I would have to say scrying gives me the most power, because i am divining the darkness for knowledge. -vv-

I would like to ask a question..does anyone here even know of reasons as to why their brand of magic would even work in th first place? What makes their choice stronger than another for them?

Maybe a little..I just think that ones personal resonance makes some techniques easier than others to perform .Some are already resonating at the hz I feel are responsible for success in magic,thus no need for outside aide to obtain the required frequencies it takes to be sucessful...others are not,thus the need of symbols or other things that would aide the person in setting the mind to that frequency...but I will be posting alot more on that in the near future.

I also feel that most do not really have any kindof understanding or idea of reasons that make given spells or symbols work.Out of the numerous times I have posed this very question,I have yet to see only two attempt an answer.Frankly,I feel that most have lost a fundemental understanding of magic.Buuut anyway..

my personal magick is the strongest and because of that where i direct my magick i know that it will work because its a part of me.
