Is there life after death? question for all of us cause one dose of primal fear. What next? Is it really the end? What if there is no life after death? Although many experienced clinical death and talking about those glittering tunnels through which they passed at high speed, scientists are just smiling and shaking their heads. Is that entry into a new life? While scientists tend to deny it all, many think that it is truly a new beginning. But alas, the scientists would not be who they are, not to deny everything they can. They have failed to prove that what many call the tunnel, actually the light that had memorized our brains while we still were aware of. It's like when you look into the light and then immediately close your eyes. So you while your eyes are closed and further illuminates the eyes for some time. Do you think this is true? I have a my theory about it, but what is your opinion?
figured i would post here and add my two cents
well the light and tunnel theory is based on the perinial gland in the brain that emits a natural helucigen i believe it is said that both when babies are born and when people die they see such tunnels
does life exist after the physical death well energy must go somewhere and we as humans are energy and matter so i believe our energy goes on existing after we die in some way or another
also alot say they see the dead or spirits so there must be a way for humans to exist and to reach out to the living beyond death
I believe there is something after death but I do not know if I believe that anyone really knows what happens.
Anyone who has experienced communication from those who have passed from this earth by those who help these communications will categorically tell you that yes there is life after death.
Others will tell you that there is no evidence of this so therefore it does not exist, its nothing more than psychological trickery. These same people used to put to death anyone who said the earth was a sphere.
I believe there is life after death, I like to talk about that too but I do not care if anyone else believes it, that is up to them
Well , if one believes there is life after death , it will make death that much easier to handle.
For me the jury is still out, someday we will all know the answer!
Wouldn't that be something if THIS is all there is!

With that said , those that believe in reincarnation ....how would you answer that question? Would this type of recycling BE the life.....after ....death ...or what?
I do believe there is life after death.Yes scientist may have their own ideas as to what individuals are seeing .myself thou i do believe that we live on even after our mortal death.
i believe in reincarnation..maybe not that we come back as an animal or anything like that.but more once we die our spirit goes back into the earth.I believe when we die..the flesh and blood and skin dies..but our spirit lives on forever.
I've written this on a different post similiar to this one, however what I believe is that we live, die and our souls move onto either heaven or hell based on our actions. We stay in either location for a term until our karma has been spent and we are reborn once again to continue the cycle. If we, at some point, find enlightenment, we can separate ourselves from Samsara; or rebirth as its know. In this we can than choose when we want to be reborn, or to remain by 'Gods' side.

DragonReborn Yes, and I believe in reincarnation and believe that our body is just an object,Thinking about how and when we emerged, under what circumstances he started this our life and circumstances in which we can impose our view that we exist here and now that we are the only and unique. Numerous studies show a slightly different picture, although we are in the form in which we now present truly unique, exist in other forms in other bodies in other circumstances. The physical body is that part of us that exists in a given period, but the soul is eternal and goes his way. If the energy is all around us and we are also energy that transforms from one form to another. The ultimate goal is to merge with that of the final energy that is raised to a higher level, be part of a whole which is considered the source of all that exists. Even when talking about it, it's hard to describe with mere words how it really looks like and what the purpose of such an existence. So much is still unknown in this world, that we should not be surprising that much more incomprehensible and inexplicable. The crudest terms, the vast majority of us here to do a karma that is accumulated in previous incarnations. Not only Facilitation, but new behaviors and ways of life create further karma. Karma itself is not a good thing, no bad thing, it's just a collection of our work on which has been developed. Gain some experience through life lessons, all our work provides some new results. We all came for a task to be done, but when a shape in a selected body, senses, at the present time and space, we forget why we came. Everything would be easy if we knew at what we came into this world, right here and now, but what we forget the real reason is actually in favor of free will, that much can change. No charted times as many think that few people fall under the influence of fate. It is usually manifested in an accident, the sudden departure of someone coincidence. Then it appears that all of the tasks of the soul does not make sense, we wonder why someone had to suddenly go and leave behind the pain and sorrow. The answer lies precisely in the matter may appear and cruel, but the soul has come on a mission to punish those who remain behind. The ultimate purpose of such an event is not a punishment, not about life on the penalty, the goal is to souls who have remained in their current forms to overcome this sense of loss, to mature through a period of suffering and to find their own meaning. Perhaps too, we match each other, no matter whether it is a kinship, love and friendship relationships. Many people lose themselves through these relationships and their life relates to key people still deal with its original mission.
Often times we are reminded by a variety of situations we come into this world, we just have to learn to listen to signals and identify the symbols that indicate this.
Let's say you like a free soul decided to spend a lot of hard life in a body, simply because you are then ready to feel it, feel you have enough power to spend as you imagined. You know you'll do a suffering some bad karmic actions of the past. How to develop the body in the download, so forget his decision that was your choice. You begin to sink, you feel lonely, unloved, abandoned, miserable and hopeless. Before you suspect the possibility of a positive turnaround can happen before you completely give up on yourself, why you think this is all befallen. Just why this is happening just to me is not enough, you can really imagine why this is happening to you, because the answer is within you. You are such a life choice, because you can stand it, so that when the evidence had been awarded. So little it takes to get to the rewards and sense of fulfillment, it just takes courage and faith. Anyone who filed a large load means that it is so, it was his experience brought a lot of valuable insights on which to build a better future. If you are currently unhappy, you know that only you can change that feeling. As soon as you penetrate into the depth of feeling and understand that this is just some lessons, you will have new doors, which give you new choices.
On the other hand, if you were born into a life that gives you everything, you feel happy and loved ones, make sure that all this is not a test, which is usually the first fall of the ego. Prosperity in this life can take their traps, their no forethought can create negative karma in the future. Those who have power, she is well known to abuse, and those who think they are helpless to make a lot of good deeds if they had that power. Everyone will feel the power and weakness, not in one life, but through more of them and how to manage in both cases, will determine the approach or departure of the soul of what the main goal. Everyone should be suspicious of their actions and thoughts and to correct what note that is not positive.
Those who feel happy, get the precious gift that needs to know to share. Some people come into this world as an example to others how to behave and what to do to achieve a sense of peace and completeness.
If you can identify in what you read, perhaps it is time to explore the current paths of our souls and enrich their awareness of knowledge that can help you to present more substantial and better.
I really dont know what happens after we die. Do I have theories? Yes, but I have no idea if they are truth to anyone else but me.
I believe in reincarnation - that is to say, I know things that I cant remember reading in a book, and I feel emotions that sometimes dont appear to fit a situation that I can relate them to.
I believe in spirits, and the awareness of the human (and not so human) soul - but once someone starts talking about other worlds and dimansions, I tend to go glassy eyed and get distracted by bunnies.
I figure one day I'll find out the truth. Right now, I'm just some miniscule spec in the whole scheme of things and my consciousness couldn't possibly understand all there is about what comes next.
But if I do continue on in spirit, I sure as hell am severing the cords that tie me to some people in this life so that they don;t appear in my next one!
I would like to believe that there is life after death, however I have almost changed my mind on this subject and now I feel that there isn't.
Theban interested me why you changed your opinion about it, what made you change your opinion?I wonder Do you ever happen to feel the fear of something, and you can not not explain why there is this fear?
Have you found yourself that you are some place seems very familiar, even to the specific details, and you're quite sure that you were never there?
Have you ever felt an uncanny affinity or closeness to another person or maybe dislike, and that that person does not know or you've just met and you can not explain what you feel at that moment?
You have certainly been in a situation to ask yourself why something is happening just to you? Why are you befallen problems, why you are sick, why did you leave a partner, why do you have bad luck in all that take?
so many questions... ?
I'll respond to the first: we were born of One, We return to that one. And, that's what I believe.
So I ever feel like I've been somewhere before... well, thoughts are not linear, maybe... just maybe, how we respond to it isn't either.
yes, I have. I've felt, or understood, many of the events of the last nine years.
I believe there is life after death I have came back from death 2times and I truly believe there is another life once we are done with this one, that many return to live over and over. That we have not finishe everything in one life time that we have several before we are complete and have the final life that is far beyond our own concepts as humans.
Why have I changed my mind, simply because of logic that's the only way I can describe it because there is absolutly NO evidence what so ever that there is some form of life after death, or a reincarnation, or heaven, or hell, as we perceive it. There is just death.
Fear has nothing to do with it, I now fear nothing apart from time because when the time comes, I know that is it, the end. I have childen so I know that my gene will be carried on through them, so perhaps that explains the odd feelings that people state they have..almost like a recorded memory. Then there are manersims which my children have picked up from me, that is what will live on.
Unfortunatly people see and hear, what they want to, that's there choice and also my choice. I could be very romantic and agree with some of the people here and believe me when I write that I would love to believe in life after death..I would love to believe in ghosts, I would love to believe in monsters and I don't mean the human kind, there are many things I want to believe in.
However I am still searching for answers I hope I will find before my time comes.
I would not agree that there is no evidence, maybe there are no strong scientific evidence, but evidence has definitely
Well the evidence you could have mentioned is Ancient History : P
"No idea is so outlandish that it should not be considered with a searching, but at the same time with a steady eye.”
~Winston Churchill~
I've always been doubtful, but I might be wrong, and as a pagan there many thoughts on life after death.
Interesting subject. ^_^
I believe there is life after death. What kind...I'm not really certain. I, myself, believe that life as we know it is like a learning experience. You come back in a different form to learn a different lesson. Like say, for example, you go through life racist. In your next life you'll come back as the object of your prior racism to experience life from that perspective.
That's just my idea though, and my idea is constantly changing, or I end up expanding on my idea. Yesterday I was introduced to the Buddhist Wheel of Life which gave me a new angle to perceive life from.
As for the whole "light at the end of the tunnel" thing, many people experience this in near death situations. From a scientific perspective that could more or less be your brain returning to consciousness. However, many people also say the light made them feel at peace, or it was warm...there was some extra phenomenon attached to it, so while there may be a rational, scientific explanation for everything I believe there's something more to it. Not having experienced it myself (at least to my memory) I couldn't tell you for certain.
Nice topic to get one thinking too hard at 9 in the morning. ^_^
My opinion on the matter is there may be or there may not be, I could not tell you either way since I've never physically died yet. However I no longer care and will live my life according to my own code of conduct and does not allow the idea to influence my decision making.
Science has been breaking ground in the field of what are now called NDEs, as Cosmic Serpent mentions the perinial gland produces DMT, which is a natural hallicinagen. I have personally had my own experience with this and found the whole affair rather like an Acid trip (of which I experienced as well) only far more indepth, and involved. So science is not wringing their hands as the author of the thread would want people to believe.
I am on the fence , leaning towards , no.
All there can be is speculation, and until it happens we will never know for sure.....and if I am wrong , you can all say , "I told you so", as I get escorted south.
The Perianal: Located around the anus, the opening of the rectum to the outside of the body. I think you mean Pineal. There are only two glands in the brain and one is the pineal and the other is the pituitary. Many believe the soul is located in the pineal gland. It is an endocrine gland that only makes the hormone Melatonin. It affects one's sleep and sexual maturity. In an adult it slows down since they don't require as much sleep as a child. Perhaps when a person dies, the brain being the last outpost of death, it might fire off large amounts of melatonin which normally has diminished and puts one into an hallucinogenic state or a higher state of awareness.
I use to belong to IANDS (International Association for Near Death Studies) in San Diego and I have read and listened to stories of those who have had NDEs. I believe to a degree there is life after death but not necessarily anything like we are now experiencing exactly. I think our consciousness goes on and we become energy/thought until such time we return, past, present or future from a physical perspective. I don't believe we are subjected to places like heaven or hell. I think those ideas come from man but depending on our own guilt and what we are trying to accomplish decides if we view things from a darker stance. I know when Dannion Brinkley died he spoke of a life review where he experienced the negative things he had done while watching a life review. I have heard so many stories that I believe there is something but I also believe it is an individual experience rather than the same thing for all. Beyond my beliefs, I have no idea. I honestly think it is meant to be that way for use to function right in the physical plane.
Then again none that I know can say with 100% certainty what happens after death. It's more honest in my opinion to admit all is theory in itself
Life after death...what is there to say. I have a large variety of different theories on this. For starters, I believe that we are all scheduled to die on certain hours of certain days. But when this is interrupted, our souls live on as ghosts. Another one of my theories/ believes on this life after death, is that when we die the energy from our bodies lives on in other forms. We bring our energy to a growing tree, a blooming flower, a baby in a womb. There is life after death but the future of our death all depends on the life we live now.
Damned if I know to be honest. I would like to think there is life after deathl and to live on after our earthly demise, but its just a nice thought to hang onto. It would however give meaning to our lives
depends on the karma and depends also how much we need to redeem ourselves to correct or finish task
I sort of disagree with myself on the fact of life after death as I have been clinicly dead in th epast and saw nothing...
no tunel, no light nothing
then again I am visited and can speak and see dead spirits and poeple... so its kind of conflicting for me to deal with this kind of thing.
that means you came back with a purpose. if you can see and speak to the death and spirits, means they are there to guide you. dead people and spirits have the power to see the past and future altogether. They might as well mislead you but of course its up to you how you will use your brain and instincts, power and will. its all in your hands. when you die does not mean you MUST see what is going to happen to you or not. if you didnt see means that cause it wasnt decided your fate yet.
now its up to you how to make the use of this opportunity, and your power, strength and the rest. mess up and you are screwed, they say. who knows. I messed the hell up myself and here i am to do something supposed to be useful. so bad for those higher ups to think i am going to follow any rules in this life. whatever is going to happen in the future or how i will die, I will never have any regrets. cause in one way or another we all die, and we all suffer for some stupid reason. so if you die and come back, then see and think fast then act. you came here for a reason. if you come back again its again the same answer.
Ok first of all scientists believe themselves to be more realists and most of them doubt of anything existing beyond the material world. They are the free-thinkers and usually have no faith in anything that's not scientific in general. Everything has to have a reason to exist in material terms. Not saying that it doesn't, but it explains a lot of their mentality.
The human mind is capable of doing things that goes above and beyond anything that scientists can prove, at least in this point in time. There are many things that humans cannot comprehend as far as what others are capable of. They are trying at least.
There are many occurances that are yet left unexplained by man. Things that happen that seem unreal or 'not possible', yet they happen anyway.
Our ancient ancestry mixes both science and the spiritual. They do not deny each other but rather embrace both concepts. Why has this been lost over time, I do not know nor understand this.
cause scientist today became more skeptics and believe only on what they see and touch?
I refuse to believe that there is nothing, what is more frightning that just fading into the great unknown but then i spose it depends how you percieve this i mean some people might argue that nothingness is a type of hell whereas others may see it as a reward, for example someone who has lead a full life with many heartbreaks and hurts may not want to be aware of there life before and so complete darkness may be a kind of peace to them, personally i feel that it would be a trully sad thing indeed for there to be nothing i would hate to think our life ends completly after we are gone from earth, what a perfetic purpose, to be born to die there has to be more doesn't there?
yes, there is.
there is a large body of evidence for it.
while i have a skeptical nature, i am content with this.
~W~
maybe not as we know it but i do think we join a collective and contiue to learn to me that is what life is about constant learnig
As a Pagan/Witch...I believe when we die we go back to the Mother Earth till it is our time for rebirth..
There is no tunnel of light or fancy welcoming sign...as some people seem to think..
i believe after death, in time we will be reserrected as Jesus was an go where it is that he went when he went up into the clouds an disappeared, to a perfect place where there be no more sickness, sadness, judgement of others or hate
I feel that there may be but Im not sure cause I haven't experienced or seen anything to prove it or disprove it.
I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THERE IS LIFE AFTER DEATH AS I HAVE HAD 3 NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES. I BELIEVE WE MEET OUR LOVED ONE'S FAMILY ANIMALS ETC SO LONG AS THEY WANT TO SEE US AGAIN AND THERE IS A REAL STRONG BOND OF LOVE BETWEEN AND THEY HAVENT REINCARNTED . I BELIEVE ALSO IN A GUARDIAN SPIRIT THAT WATCHES OVER EACH ONE OF US FROM THE DAY WE INCARNATE INTO THIS LIFE UNTIL THE TIME WE RETURN TO SPIRIT.
Yes, I believe there life after death.
I would hope so.
Something else...100%
Life after death 90%
The dark side 98%
Dark after death 50/50....your choice. and always fluctuating.
I think that there is life after death. Things happen all the time that prove there is life after death.
For example, a disembodied voice when your all alone in your house or wherever you may be at the time you hear it. Or catching voices, footsteps etc on a voice recorder when you know you were the only person there or knew the whereabouts of everyone else in the vicinity.
It is things like that which prove that there is life after death. What goes on after death is unknown but there is life after death.
If there is a Heaven, I know I'm going there because I'm a good person. If there is nothing, I have nothing to fear for with nothing, there is no pain and no memory of what you have lost.
We hope there is not life after death, but we also have a fear that you have to get redemtion for your past deeds sometime or another. Wether in this life or another. We think you have to pay death with your soul times over. If only redemption was for sale. Other than that heaven and hell no we don't beleive in that. Living a hellish life over and over again until we get it right. Yes we do beleive that. Our opinion is our own.
No one can say for certain that there is life after death because of all those souls who do know the truth, they have taken the answers with them.
I believe that there is life after death. In my opinion, one has to look at all the different religious aspects like hinduism that believe in reincarnation, not to count the idea of the paranormal. Scientists have regarded this specific area of science risky and non factual so science fights the idea of making this an actual science, but there is alot of evidence proving that there are ghosts, but there is also alot of evidence proving otherwise as well. Plus the idea of dejavu. This is the reasoning i have to beleive that there is a life after our own.
I'd like to believe there is some sort of life after death. I don't know if it'll be Heaven and Hell like we are all suppose to believe. I have spent many years of my life trying to understand these two things... I always have questions that no one can seem to answer.
If there is something, I hope I find my peace before I go. I would hate to be old and worry about what is going to happen next. I do ponder about it a lot now. I knew nothing before I came to this world. Yet, you take me to a cemetery, and my paranormal senses kick in high gear.
I guess, for me, it will just be a waiting game.
Houdini believed there might be.. and spent years bebunking charlatans.. he even went as far as to say, I'll let you know, to someone... an never did.
I'd like to believe there is more than what is.
But, if I were to, would I stop living for today and, only live for tomorrow... as some religious people do??
YES DUE TI MY OWN PERSONAL NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES - I (KNOW THAT THERE IS LIFE AFTER DEATH)I AM AS SURE AS I AM SITTING HERE A TYPING THIS THAT THERE IS LIFE AFTER DEATH.
Don't believe in either. Only a very thin veil that separates us from our true selves. As for the light/tunnel, I can teach anyone to do it at anytime. It's an advance yogi technique which leads to other advanced techniques in visualization. You don't need to be close to "death" to "see" it. It's no be deal and no secret. And it's not what many believe it to be anyway.
There are some in the metaphysical field that believe this is the actual death experience, because you are not fully awakened at all vibrational levels and frequencies. We are distracted by the physical. If this is true then in theory, when the body dies the spirit of the person is free and is fully awakened.
Those things that are above the physical are at higher frequencies and cannot be seen by our eyes. I would suspect it is a learned thing in the other place, wherever that might be, that is subject to belief. I really don't think just anyone can connect back to the physical plane just because they promised. They would have to find someone sensitive to higher frequencies and then try to get that person together with whomever they are trying to contact in my personal opinion. Not everyone who has this capacity, and that has been documented that some do have the ability, is open to it and then too, there are a lot of fraudulent people making claims as well. Makes it tough. Some would rather not be involved in such things because their personal philosophies would make them believe it was something evil or demons were trying to possess them. Can you go to other dimensions because you want to? No you cannot, but they (scientists) have acknowledged they do indeed exist.
I believe there is something but I am not sure even now what that something is really. I can spout theories and beliefs and even documentations of others who have experienced NDE's but still that is not proof of anything.
I believe in reincarnation and when we die our soul goes to another baby to be reborn. after a while our souls get tired and we take a rest from life. Life doesn't really end I think. But some people who may not believe in reincarnation will perhaps roam the earth or go to an afterlife that they created for themselves. This is just a theory that I have come up with.
I am not sure of the light tunnel theory. When i was pregnant almost 21 years ago. I had 18 seizures my heart stopped for 3 minutes and 58 seconds. I did not see the tunnel people talk about. However I did see my Grandpa. Who told me my time has not come, I have lots to do to raise my son yet. He told me to go back when all i wanted to do is go with him. I don't know if it a dream or it happen but i looked down while i was out and i looked at my brother bobby and mom. I saw the look on there face and knew i had to choose life. My soul or i return to my body and i woke up with 2 seconds to spare. When the doctors ask me if i am alright. I said yes how is my son for my grandpa told me it a boy. They looked at me as if i was strange. They asked my mom if he was dead she said yes. Died in 1977. I do believe there a place we wait to be reborn. So if your soul jumps from life to life then yes we live forever. But as far as the light tunnel i did not see. I cant say yes or no to something i have never felt before. When i saw my grandpa he was near a blue light when he came into focus he was the man who joined the navy. Not old any more young and full of life. There was no pain there. Just happiness. If there is a forever then maybe one day i shall see it.
Sorry i could not tell more of your topic. And sorry if my words are mispelled.
I'd oh-so like to believe that lovelyfreak17 is right.
But, all I've experienced thus far intimates she is not...
I have seen that look pf death in someone's eyes and, I truly don't think that in their last moments that person saw more than I have.. no lights showed for me, or them, I think.
We're intelligent, upright walking meat. What makes us so special as to be more than these meatsacks that age and break so easily?
Maybe though, I have more to learn?
well i was raised as a roman catholic..but when i turned to paganism i was taught the when we die we go to the summerland or elisiuem fields and either spend our remian time there or we are reborn back into this world to live out another life till we reach our destiny and then instead of being reborn...we just wait till everyone comes home to summerland. this mindset is what kept me fighting without fear as a soldier..if i died i knew id come back to this world to have another chance......
i belive everthing is a possiblity....but if u watch supernatural season 5....what if whatever u belive....it there? thats what i belive. if u need to stay, u stay. if u "move on" well then theres that too
I myself believe in reincarnation, to some extent. The body may die but the soul lives on and is reborn in a new body.
Can we prove there's Life After Death?
Simple answer... No.
Till it is proved, it's "all a matter of faith".
I don't think we all just dissapear...There has to be a bigger purpose..something more I'm not sure if its heaven or hell but when we die its not over
I'm a HUGE believer in reincarnation-- that the physical body is meant to go through the cycle of life, and the Soul lives on.
There ARE bigger and better things out there, but realistically, its not here on Earth.
I was thinkin this over [[again]] as I gardened.
tho I believe that when it's done it's done... I do also believe in The One... and hope... that come that day I might become part of that One....
I certainly hope there is, but to be honest, if ghost truly exist, I would probably end up being one. I love life and everything in it so much I think I won't be able to let go very easily.
For me, I full heartedly believe, hands down, there is an afterlife. A great part of my religious practice, nordic paganism, revolves around death and the afterlife.
Aside from that, I have seen and communicated with spirits. I've photographed a few even. I've been involved in seances and such.
So for me there is no doubt. But I do think it is a topic that for some, evidence is needed.
no more 'evidence' than some Need, for their Faith.
'coz surely, it is about Faith?
I think there is something out there though I dont claim to know exactly what it is. Or rather I dont think it has a name.
I dont know some days, it feels like we are already in hell
i dont see why there wouldnt be? i absolutly believe there is life after death. what it is exactly i canna say but there must be. if spirits exist i feell why not anything else?
ive seen just loads of ghosts so of course there is lfe after death.my neibour came back to say goodbye two months after she died.ive evan seen a ghost cat
I believe that after death you have the possibility of being reincarnated but then once you get to your lifes end then there is no more life after death
I've seen too many spirits and such. I'm certain there is some sort of afterlife. Even in science, they say energy cannot be destroyed, its simply changes form.
Why are living creatures any different?
Each living thing has it own unique energy so when our physical bodies die, that energy must convert into something? Why not a spirit or ghost so to speak?
I personally believe in reincarnation like my ancestors once did, and once -throughout the course of your lives- you live truly honorably and bravely then you enter a state of afterlife where the brave live on.
And from a pagan sense, at the Hallow's the recently dead have a choice: stay spirit bound or choose to be born again.
My personal beliefs are a combination of both.
don't get me wrong: I have belief, faith if you will. But, the idea of an afterlife.. for say, just man?
thats so ... wrong.
but a union of our 'self' with the one, you see, that makes sense, to me.
what I was saying, without intrinisic proof, it's just a matter of faith.
I would like to believe there is reincarnation. Not sure if its based on my religion though. I've always thought that way long before I became a pagan, even when I was a child in a strict christian household.
I'm the same way. Raised in an atheist household with no religious influence whatsoever.
Yet even as a kid I had my own ideas of things. Starting around the age of eight or nine I started thinking that I had been alive once before. Even thought some of my reoccurring dreams were memories.
(Definitely not a normal kid lol)
That's what led my interests in world religions. I never believed in one sole god or anything like that.
I'm sure that a vast majority of theories of life after death are based and shaped by religious beliefs.
But there are instances where atheists and the like have near death experiences and return with a NDE belief and seek religion.
I totally believe in reincarnation. There is no question in my mind. I have knowledge that in this lifetime, I could not possibly know. I also believe that our "soul" has stages it has to go through and acomplishments it has to concour before it can progress. What we are doing here is basically acheiving goodness. Without that goodness, we cannot progress to total serenity.
I forgot to mention that I never had any faith in my Parent's religion. I thought it was truely bunk. There is no one who can be three person's (if you will) at once. Crock!!
I used to believe there was, but not so sure anymore. I have mixed thoughts on this.
seeing as how neither matter nor energy can be destroyed, only converted to something else, yes there is life after death. The only argument is what does that look like?
i can speak with all honesty my heart stopped for 2 mins and i saw nothing but darkness
My opinion...I will be a party "pooper". Life after death, if you stop and think, was planted in your brain since the time that you started to think. If you was "created" as a Christian, then, I assumed they started you with a religious education. mean following the tradition of the Catholic Church. If your creators were from a different ramification of believe, beside the Jews/Hebrew tradition, then you was influences into something different. For me, after you are dead, what will happen, is a mystery that absolutely, no human being can predict. Some will always try to make you believe that there way is the best way to the other life, but, How do they know that is another life, if no one came back with a solid proof. Life after death, is just a wait and see for all humans.
I believe that there is life after death. I know some people say that they don't belive there is, which brings religion into question.
Truly, I believe that nowadays anything is possible. When you think about it vampires, werewolves, and fairies are real. These things people say that aren't suppossed to be real... These "magical beings" are real. So why can't there be an afterlife?
People are often too quick to rule out other options even if it is often staring them in their face. So if these beings are not suppossed to be real, but they are. Then, why is it so hard for others to believe in an afterlife?
It must have at least some truth to it. If it didn't we would't be discussing it at this moment. Come to think of it, the same applies to our forefathers.
Just as we perceive the physical world with our physical senses (sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell), so the spirit world can only be perceived by a set of spiritual senses; which are not limited by the physical laws of nature. So...the 'afterlife' would probably not conform to our human expectations or perceptions of what it could be.
I hope there is something out there for us after this life is over. I would like to believe that our spirits do carry over to some other place. Like another dimension of some sorts.
I often think about what things were like before I got here on Earth. I can never imagine anything. Yet, as I live life, I feel like I have "been" in a situation before. I have no idea how to explain it. I guess it happens to everyone.
Hm....I believe in reincarnation. However I do believe there is "another plane" where our energy/soul goes after we have finished what there is to do. I actually believe it happens multiple times. Think of it like a vacation after you die. You get to go see all the people that have already died...your vacation spot. And then reincarnation. And the cycle repeats.
Coming from my mom who actually died (heart stopped) for a total of 10 minutes....she swears that she saw a tunnel and a very bright light at the end.
I'd say theres life after death and not all stay dead. Medical technology has advanced. Even when I was 1 they were able to bring me back.
Plus theres reincarnation.
Well the "life after death" phenomena derived primarily from religious texts and teachings. Although this topic is most likely impossible to prove (as we are not dead), but religious fallices come in a large supply, which says nothing as far as the "life after death" claim, but says a lot about the source of such a claim.
Religion isn't meant to be taken scientifically, and a lot of times it is. Time and time again, religion has been given the benefit of the doubt, but never releasing any evidence or support for people not to rationally doubt their claims.
So due to the bullshit of religious dogma, and the scientific evidence giving explanations for experiences people have had during death, I would have to say that I do not think their is life after death. I don't claim absolute certainity, as I think nobody should. Absoltuion is a burden for people's intellectual growth.
I subscribe to the theory that the energy body contains (in all people) a basic system that does not have a reflection in the physical body.
Therefore, it isn't bound to the physical body, and may continue on after physical death.
This system would be an unborn soul and it needs special nourishment so that it grows strong enough to be able to survive physical death and go on to do whatever these souls do.
If the soul system is malnourished, or has been damaged in some way, it might drift apart upon physical death or hang around like a ghost for a while.
To take care of and feed the soul is what you do if you want structural immortality and a shot at a real afterlife.
Simples - lol.
i have seen ghost and have heard things i believe in ghosts but i really dont have a strong opinion on a after life. i have a hard time believing that in most religions if you dont donate to the church and do all kinds of stuff for them. that when the rapture happens or what ever, even if your a good person you will only end up with a shack in heaven and if you do all theses things for the church you get a large house. shit like that makes no seance and you would be surprised how many people believe that crap my view is heaven is supposed to be like equal to everyone who are "good" but i will say this and religion going person i have know is more corrupted then i guess the normal person. but my theory is its still a control thing that churches still have a hold of. as for me iam more a less border line Satanism. most of there guidelines are alot easier to swallow and understand. but my final thoughts are undecided
Yes, it's called "reincarnation". Anyone who denies this fact essentially denies that the universe is one gigantic, decaying compost heap.
I agree alot with Stars777 , I know there is life after death . When my father passed .. he sent so many signs you would had to be crazy not to believe .
If you have ever mingled your spirit with another , then you know our spirits live on even after our bodies die . Our bodies are just shells . Our spirits live on.
I don't believe in life after death, as told by the main stream religions or philosophies. Can find myself in the theory of Carl Gustav Jung about the Archetypes and the collective unconciousness. But outside that, I think that death is the end.
For me I believe that this life we are just a shell and our inner soul moves on somewhere after death to another plane or body. For I have seen threw dreams and meditation that I was different people in the past.
While I could and previously have commented on this question at length in the positive, citing documented accounts from medical personnel who revived those officially brain dead yet who, upon their return, recounted verifiable events and conversations that had occurred while entirely dead and often while such events and converations took place at quite some distance from the patient, yet in this instance I shall offer a far simpler explanation for my view that life continues after death.
Given that we know that matter and energy can neither be created or destroyed, only altered from one form to another... and given that everything in the known Universe consists of matter and energy (which are, themselves, simply different forms of each other, anyway), then it cannot but seem quite illogical to think that Life should be any different.
If everything in the known Universe is, essentially, eternal... only changing forms with time yet still remaining... why should Life be the only exception to this Universal Constant?

It has been known that a great many are looking for something to believe in. I myself have seen it. So without a shadow of doubt in my mind I know there is something else after death...
What that something is.. in a scientific way.. I can't explain it..
But its like religion, either you believe or you don't..
I believe that after a short spell on a different astral plain we are reborn into a new life. I believe that each life time we learn from new experiences. There is an old saying. I have been told by several people in my life that I have an old soul . Which I believe to be true as I seem to get glimpses of past lives from time to time. My dreams always seem to be from a different era than this one. Usually they are back long before cars and electricity. So yes I most definitely believe in life after death.
To be honest I'm not certain anymore what I belive. I guess I hope that there is someting else out there but I dont ponder on it much anymore. Whatever happens will happen, its not in anyones control.
I grew up in a christian background so it was normal to believe that people who lives a good life would go to heaven or be resurected on earth again once it was renewed and made into a paradise.
I don't really believe in hell, if you read the bible, that part makes no sense. why would god make people suffer in a place of torment forever? thats stupid and forever is a long time.
So I honestly dont know what happens after life and I dont care to think about it much anymore.
Maybe will cease to exist, maybe will go to heaven, or go to another plane of existnece or maybe our life energy will become something different or simply return to its source
In my opinion there is life after death. we dreams astral lucid many time, this means after death we enjoy life too elsewhere...
I believe in ghosts and spirits, I have seen them quite clearly.
so yes i believe in life after death
well its in the math to prove it . i dont know how it was done i just know it was they proved that there is a God and a Devil by math. like you can go forward in time but not back they have proven that too say you send something and have it hold there for days it goes into time becasue you cant see it but when you see it time has passed so that is time passing and in a way is time travel . you cant go back because time does not work that way it goes one way if you try and make it go back you cant . but you can slow it down so it seems as tho you are going back in time. its only when it comes to powers and magic they dont obay math or science becasue of the power that it takes to control them and that is all done by the powers that be. and they can be proven by math and that God controls it all. becasue if not the math would not have laws it would meen that 1 + 1 is 3 and that can not be not even if you multiply divid or subtract it . but with powers that be you do get 3 that = 1 like your soul your body and your mind they are all you so even tho they are 3 totaly different things they =1
I would believe in reincarnation but not by choice. After ending up on the floor from reading my friends mind to see what he was hiding from me I found out that he knew me from a past life and after that I got a blast of memories from my past life that made it hard to forget that such a thing dose excise. Crushed my mind as I was raised christen and did not believe in just things. But it’s there and I got a friend I can reminisce with all day to prove it.
