I was wondering if the paranormal can pick up on our emotions and why? Or if sometimes we cause the activity around us to make the paranormal act as they do? It can be very scary and then again is it good to be scared of these things we do not see?

Really curious on some feed back of others.

It's hard to say what causes Paranormal activity to flare up... Emotions could have something to do with it... people who are emotionally down tend to be easy targets for spirits to talk to, manifest themselves in front of and so on... Being an empath I have to guard myself constantly... It can be an exhausting task when you're in an area that has a lot of activity...

I would watch an American Haunting. I forget if it was based on a true story, but it was about a girls whose emotions caused physical harm to herself as well as other through paranormal means.

I believe that the paranormal reacts to negative energy just like how humans react to negative energy. For example, when you not having the best of days people annoy the shit out of you until you do something about it. Well, I think the paranormal react in the same way. I could be wrong but this is what I think.

i dont think Emotions can be linked with paranormal unless like the ghost or somelike that was murdered but I dont think people can use emotions in paranormal activites

As there are a lot of different things that are classified Paranormal, it is difficult to actually say whether emotions can effect the paranormal or not.

For example, crop circles (although largely explained) have been classified as paranormal, yet it seems that they may not be affected by emotions.

That said, i guess there are a lot of paranormal activities that are affected by emotions.

Just like bored people go to the movies, spiritually distraught people go to a "spirit medium" and there emotions fib on them the moment they walk into the door. it is also likely the emotions are attached, or drawn to paranormal activity, perhaps even depending on emotions to fuel the presentation.

i think the paranormal do go off emotions and it gives them strength so they can pull stuff or infect the mind. so it it easier to get in your body and control you....

With emotion comes energy, with energy comes energy signatures, it seems places of severe tragety attract paranormal creatures; I think that perhaps becouse they themselves are an energy source, they are sensitive to the energy we produce.

i think that spirits can sense the emotions of the people and the place around it.

I actually beleive that we pick up on thier emotions and feelings when they are around. That is why when a person is haunted or a house or building is haunted, the person themselves can feel dispair and or depression given from the spirit inhabiting the place.

The paranormal is all around us...lurking mostly in the 4th dimension...& we can see it. Sometimes just speaking of the paranormal draws its attention to YOU!!! That makes it more obvious...though it was there all along...& always is.

It was asked as well what does a ghost feel like, I think a ghost feels like a memory a memory that surges out into our emotions. laughter, Stress , anger.
All brought on by our search for attachments still resonating from their near presence. The light in others they knew increases this, when we sooth those emotions and have a still assurance that they had a path they followed and they went lightly to it, then if we feel they may linger longer then needed through studying there effects then we can tie up lose ends and cast of weigted attachments. some people I know hold to tight to those that had a path and it makes me said to think that if they had communicated with him better they would know that he had assurance.

I know people with a higher energy level like me, when a strong emotion happens, weird things do, too.
I think things of paranormal nature can definitely sense our emotions, but the energy that our emotions let off, more so. So instead of sensing emotions, being able to sense the energy.
Maybe it attracts them.

I think our emotions give off very strong energy which spirits will be attracted to as in my belief they are energy themselves. Hence if your very negative minded you will draw poltergeists. Or if your positive more helpful spirits.

Most ghost appear when people are static not to excited or not to deeply focus you want them to be casually glancing about. They only appear for a short duration. and the rule is that never twice in the same place only once per night with an exception for indoor apparitions.

For me, I have not experienced any form of paranormal activity, so I am not able to determine if emotions have any impact.

I could postulate that paranormal activity has a level of energy associated with it, and I do know that strong emotions generate lots of energy. I can see no reason why the energies of one would not be able to affect the other.

the ghost I know like overconfident people those that brag about not being afraid of things the ones that like to spook others the old fashion way. They really get scared straight... one even got scared sober.

It is pretty much common knowledge about how the other side feeds off of our energy. I don't believe they do it to harm us, but to connect, to manifest. They also take from the air around us, the warmth. Energy....all about the energy.

People that are emotionally high strung can really feed the other side and that can encourage them to hang out more with the house.

I'm sure that emotions could cause such things. Like an empath can feel emotions of other people I'm sure that certain other things could. Your emotions are probably on wave lengths that could catch some paranormal being. Just like how we have to use high energy tools to sense the paranormal.

I myself Believe that the spirits can pick up on our emotions and when needed can interject... like a calling from above they can help us when we require the assistance and injure us as well
if it's needed i believe they come only when it's needed like karma comes and goes if we've done bad then the hurt us and if we've done good then they help us it's a good or bad situation thing

A lot of people do not realize that there emotions can be more powerful than anything on this earth. It can also draw the paranormal to them.

I think that paranormal activity comes from the place it is in such as houses and buildings and land and I believe that it (they) can sense when someone is more open to the otherside and uses that person as a way to come through or to cause trouble.

Yes, I think paranormal entities would be able to sence and even feed off of our emotions. Fear itself can attract them. We have the potential to sence them and/or see them. I see this as a 2-way street.

I think that the more negative and more depression you hold in that the more you will draw the darker side, and the more evil souls to you. And the more light and happy you are the more happy and lighter souls you will draw

I believe there are some spirits that feed off negative emotions in particular. Many poltergist activities are formed around tempermental and emotional teens.

I also think emotions give off very strong energies that the spirits can feed off or are attracted to.

I think the energy emitted by our emotions can be so strong that it is impossible for it not to be picked up. Maybe the energies of our emotions are the cause of paranormal activities.

Good question. It's true that our emotions can effect paranormal activity. In fact, bad emotions has been known to be the key cause of Poltergeists.

I believe that your emotions can effect the paranormal. Negative emotions can bring bad entities into your life. and vice versa for positive energy

I agree with greusometendancy. However I do also believe that we can attract them with our own emotions or possibly they are already there and decide to make themselves known to us when our emotions are similar to their own.

what do you mean by the paranormal? do you mean spirits and such? and yes, i think that they can pick up on your emotions and select the best time to show themselves.

I think there is a direct link between our souls and our emotions at that our mood can directly affect the energy our bodies produce, and certain types of energy are more likely to attract paranormal beings. I think they having no physical body can sense the energy given off by the spirit within us.

In some was, the paranormal is based on our emotions and feeds with them; our fear, mostly, is the one who is being sent out the most and creates the unseen, the unbelievable...
As there are people who can sense other people's emotions, I don't see why the spirits, the unseen cannot pick up our feelings...

People get very emotional when you don't believe everything as they do.
Some people disassociate feeling from assurances, others claim to be enlightened beyond others, i could image they are very emotional and happy when they share testimony with each other. I find that imagining the possibilty of super natural things on the other die and that makes me content.. I don't see how I need to call that a belief.. I get depressed by people that insist I am not enlightened like they are.. because I have not been astonished by something that they can imagine to be a craft.. an alien craft. So as emotional as they get I hope there is more to their belief then emotional dependancy.

Everything has an energy to it. Whether it's dead or not. I feel it's the one thing that keeps us connected. Helps with communication... EVP for example!! communication through electronics!!!

We can attract them with our emotions, but they also will show themselves to people that can be of use to them and also when there is a need for people to see them

There have been a decent number of folks who claim poltergeists as fake overall. Claiming that the occurances were nothing more than an emotional state that caused things to happen.

I think it's possible that some entities can attach themselves to a person for whatever reason for their emotions and other muliple reasons.

I definitely think they can pick up on emotions. They;re like ripples in water and effect everything. That's maybe why souls tend to be bound to places where something tragic has happened.

a poltergeist ripped my friends TV off his shelf and impaled it on the Stairs Railing.. that could have something to do with the build up of a very upset boyfriend that was robbed by his fiances brother. Her denial

I believe that paranormal can use our emotions as a feeding process for them. Like if you have ever noticed you, and the person that might live in the house you are in start to fight for no real reason. You normally don't fight, but for some reason it only happens in that place your are living in.

I have had that my whole life. Until we figured it out, and cleansed the house, and made it go away.

with everything else, we set off the things in our environment it only takes one time to set off a person or the paranormal wen we feel one way the things around us feel the same or pick up on the vibrations our body is setting off so y would the paranormal be any different

I think it's possible that emotions could affect paranormal activity, however, I don't think that is the case in every paranormal occurrence. I feel that when regarding the paranormal, considering it's something that we have yet to truly and fully understand, anything is possible due to the complexity of such phenomena.

I think you have to take it on a case by case basis. For instance, after my grandmother passed away, I was extremely distraught. One night, shortly after her passing, she came to me in a dream and told me she was happy now, no longer in pain. Since that night, whenever I am extremely upset over something, I can feel her presence. On the other side of the argument, when I was in my teens I lived in a house that had a ghost that came whenever it wanted. It was never related to anything emotional.

Maybe it was related to something in your conscience... or something that other people who lived there left behind...
Emotions can be residual and affect one place or human beings long after their source is gone...

generally speaking, in my experience, the last emotion that a person felt before passing is imprinted in the room or area that he/she passed in/on.

If that emotion is strong enough, it imprints itself. Emotion is one of the most powerful things in the nine worlds. Which is why if someone is murdered, the fear, shock and hatred is bloody well impossible to dispell without a wholesale cleansing. And even then they put up a fight because you're trying to take away the only thing they have left.

Emotions have a great deal to do with the paranormal, and it's perfectly natural to fear what you don't understand. that's part of being human. Or whatever you happen to be, or claim to be. (no offense intended, just generally speaking)

Part of dealing with overpowering things like this is to remain nuetral. Emotional balance is the key to a great many things...and now I sound like yoda. Oh well, I like Yoda.

emotions can unlfuence our temper and the streinght of our actions and reactions.
plus I noticed when some ppl are agressive or upset I can sense them even if they are not showing signs.
therefore I am assuming if a simple human can sense it I am sure the paranormal is influence by our emotions.

Yes our emotions can effect the paranormal. Say for example, an "evil" entity where lurking around your home. In most cases this entity will try to cause fights between people because they feed off it.

An other example:

When a person is very upset some times the spirits of their loved one that have passed on will show them selfs to try and comfort the person that is upset.

Empathy...and I will tell you right now that it sucks royally...Can you even start to imagine feeling others pain and anguish along with yours? yes I admit that its not always pain and anguish there is happiness and joy as well..... but it is not a power that is good to have

I think they feed off a lot. Paranormal psychologist use those machines to detect paranormal activity, how those work i dont know.

in a sense some of them can sense our emotions while those of us with paranormal powers have some instances that occur because of emotion

I think that things such as ghosts are drawn to a persons emotions.

However, I don't think it applies to all people, just those of children -- insofar as they're more likely ghost magnets.

Some believe that Poltergeists happen because of stress, well anything paranormal can happen with any mood, if it happens it's because it had to happen.

However usually bad emotions tend to attract negativity even in the Paranormal.

They say that people close to death see the dead waiting for them. My mate who died approx. 3 years ago after a 5 year illness. Told me once he saw a female ghost in our previous home. An elderly couple had both died in the home. I do believe in this. I also work in healthcare and am around dying people, well almost daily. I have seen firsthand that dying people will be talking to loved ones who have gone before them. Excellent question!

most paranormal things to happen in areas of high emotional activity. i am not sure why that is. perhaps the human psyche is powerful enough to distort reality when it is disturbed.

Apparently, there had been recent problems at home over the fact that Tina, against the wishes of John and Joan, had recently been searching for her natural parents. Also, Tina’s best friend of two years had ended their friendship just two days before the events began. All of this apparently combined to create an outward transference of energy. How exactly? We may never know.

For those who question whether or not, emotional problems can cause poltergeist-like activity to take place should look at what happened to Tina after the TV cameras and reporters went away. According to a 1993 report, Tina, then 23-years old, was awaiting trial in Georgia for the murder of her three-year old daughter. The child had been badly beaten and had died from injuries to the head. What the outcome of the trial was, and whatever became of Tina is unknown.

The paranormal will react to negative energy... Who is to say what kind of effect it can have on an individual... I watched one movie where the medium stated that the woman was creating poltergeist through her negativity. Now that one was hard for me to believe.

I do believe that paranormal beings can pick up on our emotions, I think our emotions can make is more vulnerable to supernatural attack or posession. If we're in a vulnerable state of mad, such as being angry or sad then maybe it would be easier for them to take control of someone. Maybe they're attracted to us because of the energy we give off when experiencing certain emotions. I do think it's good for us to be afraid of the things we can't see, it makes us more cautions when dealing with such things.

Disturbed children that act out in sneaky out burst, throwing things and causing things to fall and break,


a person haunted by a poltergeist because he is a drug addict that irrates and scares the neighbors that live in the house that owns the garage. I would say that the paranormal activity in that case (me) was directly related to the emotions of the family.

I do believe that the locale's net paranormal activity is related to the emotions of those around.

Ghosts for example are mostly seen after something traumatic happens, ie Death(duh). That could mean the actual spirit or just the brain projecting something into the world around it.

i honestly think they pick up on our most energetic emotions such as sadness anger rage and excitement because they can consume the most energy that way and try to contact us through energy

For some I believe emotions stir the para. to notice us. And some may not notice anything till scared/worry & then it is noticed. Emotions open up the scenses, puts them on a "higher alert".

I believe our emotions can stir the paranormal like if someone were trying to get them out of the house the would get more violent and stuff like that.

I think it depends on the entity and their purpose. Emotions are energy and I think they are attracted to that, are pulled to it.

From what I have read and seen about poltergeists and such is that it commonly found in a home where there is an emotional teenager...why that is I am not sure..maybe it is due to all the turmoil that they are going through with peer pressure and hormone changes in their bodies and then those mixed emotions causes or attracts a disturbance to release those feelings or feed off of them...almost a manifestation of the highly charged emotions.

Emotions can play a huge part in the paranormal. When you develop a strong connection with someone or something it is hard to let go and the energy of what remains can leave echos or part of the person behind. The stronger your emotions the more powerful the connection which results in stronger manifestations. The more positive the emotion usually the more positive manifestation, the more negative...sometimes you don't like what you get from it

My grandmother lived with us and passed away in our house. There are days when you can feel her there with you or hear her voice asking you a question and you turn to answer her and she's not there.
