What are your thoughts on Tarot readings? How true are they? Can they really tell the future?
My theory is it depends on what you believe. It works for some, but not for others. Those it does not work for seem to be the ones that do not believe in things like supernatural forces. Connections with the supernatural and the cards themselves are very important in Tarot. If they are not believed, it will not work for most people. There are a few exceptions, but that is for another time.
Please, show your feeling on this, I like the philosophical discussions on these subjects.
The one time i had one done it was extremely veug not to mention incorrect. O don't know if it was just that guy or what but I believe that could be true.
It takes a very professional individual with a very accurate mindset and the know-how to use Tarot the right way. Otherwise you will end up with a fool as a reader.
I've had my cards read several times. I think it depends on the person handling the cards and their personal power. I agree some are inaccurate, and occasionally you get one that is totally uncanny. I also believe it takes many years to accomplish tarot card readings. I dabble with them myself, but do not profess being a card reader. I am able to do white spells with them. Binding is the easiest.
I think if you do them yourself you can read them according to whats going on in your life and it can be helpful. If someone else reads them they need to be skilled in order to be insightful. If the reader dosn't know you it can be just random and attempt at telling you what you might want to hear.
I am going to have to correct a post here, there is no spell casting with the tarot. Even if it were the so-called, "white" vs "dark" magic(k) (even if it is all grey and based on intent). But, I will leave my conjecture to the eye of the beholder and leave it to each their own point(s) of view.
it all goes on the way u understand it and the way a reader explains it in a way for them to understand. i do reading for my family and friends my mum believes that i have a special way of doing it. especially with distance, i can do reading for people that rnt even there and they still say they r accurate... there has not been one reading i have done that didnt make sense.... also i believe that u should never pay for actual reading... it is against the purpose of it.. in many books i have read it always say u should never take money for doing someone's reading. thats where times have changed so much....
I feel that the different meanings for individual cards are very ambiguous, and can be fit into most of our current situations .And that our minds tend to see meanings in things that might or might not really have anything to do with a specific situation..or us.
I think that if you get someone if the energy and ability to read them correctly, you would get a very real reading. Otherwise, it's all just make believe and played-out.
I've done online readings for ppeople before and trying to feel their energy signature as I close my eyes and think of their question, I them choose my cards and speads based on the question being asked, Normally I have been pretty good at doing this, but I haven't mastered what the cards mean, I usually use the book my cards come with to do readings and then interpet the cards based on what the cards choosen mean and the question that has been asked. I use the druid animal oricle.
I incorporate a lot of Jungean archetypal symbolism to a Tarot reading, as well as, what is Esoteric, when I used to read the Tarot. I found that the readings were perceived as “accurate” by the individuals As per their own perceived articulation.
Needless to say, whatever I may write here applies, shall the individual doing the Tarot reading, have an effective to others way to to read the Tarot. This would be very unique to each individual Tarot reader
However, the reason that I stopped reading the Tarot was due to an assumed by others reaction. That is to say, individuals felt that the cards dictated their “fate.” I personally oppose this approach. I believe a Tarot reading is worthwhile at one capacity.
Only if a possible unwanted outcome from the Tarot is understood by the individual as a welcome opportunity to change one's chosen outcomes. From the most trivial to the highest areas of one's life.
I found it worthwhile to discuss the personal issues of individuals. The more the person reveals to the reader, the more chance for a worthwhile positive and negative feedback opportunity.
This dependent of course, on the reader's attained knowledge of personality dispositions. Whether, shall this knowledge be innate in the reader, or academically attained.
I believe that both social science and what is Esoteric and mystical would provide the best approach to advise another on life issue topics that would have surfaced from the Tarot reading.
Great post!
I've been reading Tarot for years now and the way I see it, is that it's true and real. I've given readings that don't make sense to the other person, usually because of one of two reasons.
1. They're really skeptical in the first place. It disrupts the energies that they put into the cards and the reading as a whole
2. They're just not ready for a reading.
I've always said that the cards will tell you exactly what you need to hear. I've had readings where they didn't have a clue what i was talking about and come in a week later saying, "OMG you were so right!" So it's different for everyone.
I've even had people tell me that Tarot cards are evil, to which i just say that they are just pieces of card-stock with pictures on it. Most Tarot decks are made by U.S. Games (See, games). It's all about the energies that are being worked with and the ability to channel those energies into the cards. Just my experience.
Here is another source to view. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViUUMjewayk
I have in my experience with tarot (and I must say that experience is VERY limited) found that unless each individual being read has their own deck it is very hard to get a clear reading. To get a really clear reading the one being read has to put so much of themselves and their aura into it (in my opinion) it is almost impossible to cleanse the deck for the next person. This would explain the confused readings. I feel palm reading is much more accurate and definitely more personal.
Since most people believe that are real and it is accurate for the most part.
What makes it more accurate, a self reading or having someone else read it for you?
Does the reading come from the cards or the energy instilled in the cards?
In my opinion it depends on the reading to be done and who is involved. Say for instance you are familiar with reading tarot cards reading your own cards may be better for you. If you have little to no experience dealing with tarot cards, you may want someone to read yours for you.
The reading comes from the energies instilled in the cards. Thats why its important to keep your mind focused on the reading at hand. If you let your brain bounce around all over the place, then it increases the chance of an off-the-wall reading that makes little to no sense at all.
I agree that the energy is from the cards. I usually sleep with mine under my pillow, and don't let others touch them unless absolutely necessary. Some readers like to hold an item you have like a ring, something that is close to you.
A message to the person telling me that spells can't be done with tarot cards...I told my best friend what you said and she laughed. She and I have been using cards for many years. She is extremely adept with them. A little research will prove my point. She asked me if the person who said that was nuts, I found that quite funny.
Shalina, good topic!!!!
they said tarot reading works 70%... but most people believe that Tarot Reading is a tool. The power of the Tarot really comes from one’s internal self. They are mirrors to the self.
I've done several experiments with the tarot, and what I found interesting is that each card has several meanings.Furthermore, each one of those meanings could fit into anyone's life at any given time.I think that if someone could read them and talk about or describe specific times, happenings or people in the "client's" life, then I would have a lot more confidence in them. What I found in the end was, when people get good at learning the meanings of tarot cards, due to the ambiguous nature of their meanings, just as with any "cold reader" they can make it fit into any person's life ,giving us the illusion that the cards are somehow revealing events that have taken place,or will take place in our lives.
I've been reading tarot for several years now. I'm not even close to being an expert but I've come to put a lot of confidence in the practice even though I started out as a skeptic.
First off, in my opinion, Tarot readings do not "tell the future" exactly but can be really helpful showing you aspects of a situation you hadn't really seen yet, laying out steps or changes that should be made to get where you want to go, helping to point out the obstacles in your way and yes sometimes showing what is ahead.
It's a very personal thing. Sometimes it's easier to read them when you are close to the situation and the question, for instance doing a reading on someone very close to you or on yourself. It can also be harder that way sometimes because you can look too far into things and really have to train yourself to see what the cards are really saying and not just what you want them to be saying.
As far as accuracy, sometimes it's just not the right time or the reader or the questioner isn't focused enough and nothing comes up right. More often, I've found, the cards to be eerily accurate and in tuned to the situation. Neither person can see it as a joke too, but I've turned a couple skeptics (just as I once was) into believers as well. I've even based a couple pretty serious life decisions off of what the cards where telling me and things worked out to the same means as they said they would.
And no the cards themselves aren't "magical", as someone already said they are card stock with pictures on them. It's the forces and energies that you invite into them and the skill of the reader, the cards are tools.
I that if you believe in tarot then anything is possible. I know I believe. I am also currently learning how to read tarot.
I have made my own cards and have a couple of packs bought in shops and have been 'doing it' for many years. Sadly for me I now understand that it isn't real, though I really really really wish it was.*sighs* Still it is good for some party fun.
In quantum physics there are theories that little eddys
of time get caught in time loops and cycles that repeat themselves sometime on amplified scales in nature like how radios work. These are theories though.
Yet if there is some veracity to it then one might use tarot, tea leaves, or the bloody entrails of your ex to foretell the future.
I think its equally important for the reader to be psychic to determine the context of a reading. And you can use magick with any symbolism thats built up with power like the traditional tarot being cabalistic. And of course occultists like CthulhusConcubine using them for personal transfomation.
I encourage people to study and develop their own tarot skills, for one thing. Another problem I see is people who come to you for a reading, that's all "hearts and flowers" or nothing but good news readings. They're more looking for comfirmation, than truth, in my opinion.
That's a great point Mel! I think its best if people read their own cards. Too many times, others are reliant on other people when you can take some time to study this art for themselves. What's wrong with developing your own intuition and guiding your own destiny?
something inside me just wants to belive that tarots is not real just pure guessing thats my opinion anyways
I think sometimes it works and other times it doesn't so just enjoy it for entertainment
Only a true medium as in my experiences, made me a believer, others, are just for the money
I think that the Tarot can give one insight into some things overall, more than outright predict anything...although on occasion, I've read the cards for myself, only to find out that many of the predictions came true.
All the times ive had my cards read it has all been true....but it does just come to the individual.
...is just a trade, where someone learn and then, apply the knowledge to make some money. A true gipsy will not charge you and will read the card to you for free. now, That is Taro reading!!
I am Tarot card practitioner, I believe in many of those who poses the ability to receive and give accurate readings I live by them with everything i do their like my crystal ball. I believe that the cards choose the reader and that they will never steer them wrong. I also read tea leaves.
-TheWhiteRabbit
i believe in them so far they have been accurate for me..but thats my opinion..
Many years ago now, I had a very bad experience with someone practicing some rather violent magic, and part of it involved a Tarot deck. Until quite recently (only a few years ago), just touching a box or bag that held tarot cards was enough to make me feel physically ill. Even if I didn't know they were there at the time.
I still get nervous when they're being used sometimes, but I'm mostly ok now.
As for reliability, I'm yet to have a tarot reading from someone I know that turned out false. But I still prefer runes.
On the subject of Tarot, I happen to find it works ONLY if you are willing to look at the results with an open mind. It helps to have some sort of connection with the person doing the reading for you. The emotional/spiritual bond the two of you share will flow through the deck as well. DON'T forget to shuffle the deck yourself, that's the most important part. Put some heart into it and you might just find a bit more truth in what the cards have to say.
I personally believe in Tarot readings, but I have come to realize that the person doing the reading has to be very good at it or it will not be accurate.
Therecomes a certain point when the cards leave off and the reader takes over. They must be able to see past the cards to get at what is really going on, otherwise the reading will be vague and/or inaccurate.
i think mostly its a card game...sometimes you get a very astute reader that can make the cards seem meaningful.
that said, i think very occasionally its possible that something more is going on. i wont rule it out.
~W~
For all those who do nto believe, I feel most have it correct when saying that it depends on the readers true ability to communicate with the deck and the medium of the other world things we do not see.
For those who do not believe, I feel you are missing something or do nt understand the ways of belief. If you do nto believe in it, it will nt work for you. A true tarot reading is based on the connection of the reader and the readee to the cards, it is not just a card game.
For the sake of argument, what is you opinion on belief and non-belief?
One also has to feel something and/or have a connection with the actual deck of cards. (That includes not letting anyone who gives you a bad feeling touch them).
I have the Waite deck, but find that I'm more attracted to the Mythic deck, which is based on Greek mythology...the archetypes are easier to understand, and as a result, the readings are easier for me.
As I love cats, I'm also thinking of buying the Tarot of the White Cat, which features white cats on all of the cards. I know that I'll get good vibes from that particular deck as well.
I like to play cards..
I feel It has nothing to do with people believing in it, lot's of people believed the earth was flat, that didn’t make it flat...*yawns* yeah I know that's used alot, it's cause it's a good example : )
Having long ago researched the origin of the cards and what the intended purpose was for, I found it quite interesting?
As for the word belief..the very definition is flawed because it's a part of our social engineering/conditioning
I used to do the Mythic Tarot.
It was vague for the most part, but I believe it is isn't there to give exact numbers but signs to understand.
I haven't done them for a while now, I trust more my dreams as a form of ''signs'' of the present and future.
I'm kind of divided on it. Sometimes I get a readinf so far off the reality I think its a scam, but other times the reading is so dead on its spooky! o.O
That's so true!
About 3 months ago, I did a reading for myself - mainly to get an idea on how to deal with some problems I was going thorugh...a major part of it had to do with money - or the lack therof.
I admit that I use a book to guide me along, and I'm slowly begining to recall what the cards mean/can mean. Anyway, I kept getting references to me 'getting money from an old source that was forgotten', blah blah blah. About a month and a half later, I find out that my mom had insurance policies that she set up for me and my sisters ages ago, and they were paid up. We could either keep them for our kids - I don't have any kids - or cash them in. I netted a lil' over $1,600.00, which I needed to help me move!
(And there may be more policies floating about, as my mom forgot all about them).
I was a believer before -but that reading made me a BIG believer - lol!
they take what the user knows and give then the best choice for the matter.
I may be new here, but I have been reading Tarot cards since the 1970s. Here is the bottom line (in my opinion). There is nothing magical about a deck of cards. For that matter, the same can be said for a scrying mirror, a bag of Rune stones, or whatever it is that a psychic uses. The ability is in the operator.
I could probably write pages here, but I will keep it brief. The ability to foretell the future, or look into a person, lies in the operator. Some people are quite gifted psychically and others are not. The cards provide symbols that connect the operator to the astral through their own subconscious. From there, they can gain knowledge from deep within the individual they are reading for, or even the Akashic or other sources.
That being said, I know that I can’t turn it on or off. I find it easiest to read for people I know. When I don’t know a person, sometimes I can easily read for them, others I can’t. My own abilities also vary from day to day. Some days I’m on my game, others I’m terribly unable to read and I know it. Also, I find that after one or two readings, I become quite fatigued.
These things have always made me suspect of the professional reader. I’m sure a major number of them are scam artists in some sense or another.
Ok so last Halloween I had a little party with some close friends. We were hanging out drinking etc, having fun. I pulled out my new tarot cards and thought it would be fun to go around and read. I'm sure it's because I knew everyone personally, but I have to say the readings was so spot on! We all were amazed with how accurate they read for each every person. So i'm still a bit skeptical but love to play around with it.
I read the Tarot for myself and occasionally for others and generally find it to be very accurate. I don't believe it tells the future completely, but rather points out behaviors/patterns in the present to provide a possible future based on those implications. If these factors are altered upon the person becoming aware of them, I feel the future would most certainly turn out different than what the cards had told originally.
No such thing as fate, they dont work. In my opinion everything that happens to you you made happen with the choices youve made
Igrat,
Hi. You made mention of feeling drained after you would give couple of Tarot readings. I have to say that the same thing of feeling fatigued, happened to me. The level felt was in accordance to the uniqueness of the reading, etc.
Victorya,
I agree. I'm usually good for only about two readings in an evening, three tops.
Others,
I also want to make a clarification. I also don't believe there is fate and readings show an absolute future either. I use the reading to counsel people on how to direct the course of their future. Let me use an analogy that might help to understand the concept.
A doctor tells his patient that he needs to stop smoking, drinking and get some exercise, else he will wind up in an early grave. That is not an iron clad prediction. Hopefully, the patient will take the advice and probably live a longer life, but that's not guaranteed either.
With the Tarot, a good reader can see where currents are taking someone. By pointing things out, hopefully the seeker can change the current to make a more favorable outcome probable.
I believe it works for those who believe in it, but for those who don't believe nothing happens.
I had a few readings done by my former Coven Mother. The acuracy that she read into my life and views were almost frightening.
Most of the people in my circle feel drained after doing any type of reading, be it tarot or palm. Sometimes if your not properly grounded you can leave a reading feeling very drained.
I am far from being an expert at doing readings, but I've had some practice. I had a simple deck of cards, it only required a four card spread to do a reading. And surprisingly each and every time I read my 'fortune' it was surprisingly accurate. I don't remember it telling me my 'future', or allowing me future knowledge or anything like that. The readings I've done have helped me to navigate through the 'present' rather than the future. The cards offering insight on current worries or problems.
I recently bought a new deck of tarot cards, but I haven't used them because the layout is expansive...and I haven't figured it out yet, ha. I'm wondering if, because the layout is more intricate, they would be able to offer more detail.
I have not read my tarot cards in a long time but I think it is what the reader thinks and takes in from them. I do love to read them but they are a tool for the ones who have the gift of sight but have not quite mastered things. The card I read I do for free or ask for a candle if they make them or barter in exchange for a reading i never take money it is just wrong to me.
Unicorn -
You don't have to use the layout that came with the cards; you can use one that you are more comfortable with, or even create your own, when you feel up to it.
:)
It's kind of iffy if you ask me. On one hand, the people that are really good at it can "predict" what's going to happen but once you're told it's like you wait for it and look for it so hard that it HAS to happen. It's like the whole destructive thinking thing. If you think badly then it'll happen... setting yourself up for failure type bit. On the other hand you've got people who suck at reading cards to begin with and can't make a lick of sense out of it. Who's at fault then? Are the cards wrong or are they just being read wrong? How do you know if someone's bad at it if they make it look like they know exactly what they're doing?
I believe its the person reading the cards not the cards themselves. I had a reading done and the women asked me my faith. I told her I believed in the goddess. when she cleared the air evey candle went out. I started looking for fans or some form of trickery. All the while she had her eyes closed, she grabbed my hand and said stop this is real she is with us. This women nailed (at the time) my wifes name and birthdate, my girlfriends name and birthdate and on and on. I cant believe how accurate she was. when the reading was over I went to shake her hand and asked her what I owed her. She pulled away and said its free you have drained me of everything please leave my home. And that was that....
It depends on both the reader and the other person, and believe it or not the cards themselves have personality. At least the good cards do, mine can be extremely brutal with people but it takes two readings. The first one will be either very vague or nonsensical, where the second I've had people leave my table crying.
I don't do readings for others very often, just not my thing, but my mother does it best; she'll does gypsy readings too. And there's not set future, oddly enough small things can change the whole outcome.
If done with Skill and Knowledge a reading c an be wonderful. However, many people when they get readings only want to hear good news, never the honest stuff, as if the cards will make everything come true.
I had my cards read multiple times and I would say about half of those readings were accurate. Also I noticed I got a better reading if the person didn't know me or was familiar with me in any way. Readings can be very vague or incredibly precise all depending on the skill of the reader.
I do think in my opinion that tarot readings can be very acurate in some cases. But i would not base a reading on absolute fact either. Because I feel that it depends on how much the reader can pick up on the energys of the person, as well as the fact that it can only say that it is how things are leading at that time. Things change day to day and we also have free chioce that can also change outcomes as well!
I personally feel tarot readings are beneficial regardless of whether or not the cards tell you the "future". For all we know, that IS or future in another dimension. However, for me, tarot helps me remove personal bias from my life and allows me to look at something a different way. Often times I am trapped by my own expectations and need tarot to unblock me.
After tarot readings (and like many on here I do not claim to be a reader) I feel calmer and more confident in my ability to solve a problem. I personally don't do tarot for anyone else beyond myself and one of my siblings. I brought my cards to a friends house once and they felt weird for days after she had touched them so I haven't let anyone handle them since.
I believe in it, but others are different. I own a set of Tarot Cards but I haven't used them in a few years.
I did get a Tarot reading about 2 years ago saying I would get a "surprise soon." I ended up pregnant with my daughter a month or two later. (:
i believe tarot to be a source of both spiritual and physical insight. every thing has a link and for some that link is tarot, but at the same time if you go by it every day like a game type thing then you are missusing it. When you have an accurate reading (which may take many times before this happens) it shouldnt be taken lightly. even if it isnt accurate there may be some truth in it.
A couple in Seattle Washington noticed how many card reader, and Palm readers there where, decided to research the readers, and they each went separately to a few, they found that a large percentage used a script that lead to a pitch that encouraged the sitter to pay for a more readings. I think where most readers cross the line is when they bill themselves as clinical practices, no one should place that much stock in a reading, as a matter of fact most states require advertisers to say "Entertainment purposes only. This was done to thwart gypsy readers that would perpetuate "curse scams" a curse scam is when a person leads another to believe that they have a curse on them, and that the reader can negate the curse , the catch is that the client (sucker) needs to pay for the materials to perform the ritual.
I can and do read cards. Never have I charged anyone for it either. I disagree with people charging for it. It is all kinda a vague reading anyways. There are quite a few things that one particular reading could say. People that read for money and say that it is one particular way just focus on part of it. Hard to explain really id suggest doing some research before paying anyone money for readings
The hotlines that used to be popular (Psychic Friends, and Miss Cleo) were scams, all the operator would do is read from a script, first they would ask if the person called before, if not they would read the same script they read for most callers, the agenda was to get the person past the "free reading" and entice them into the 3.99 per minute reading. I have even seen this tactic used by Psychic Fair readers, they advertise for a free reading, then slickly ask the mark if they want an analysis of the reading, after which they spring the 20.00 obligation on the person, and some people actually pay feeling guilty. as entertainment only the cards, and palm reading have a place, but just like Mediums, there are nefarious
people that perpetrate fraud.
I have had my cards read. Most was some what accurate. When I read them I was very accurate. I no longer have any tarot cards.
I find that with reading Tarot if you ask a Yes or No type question you will get an acurate reading. If you ask a more complex question you will get an answer which can be very accurate but it might not be the answer you want
I've done readings and had actually some good one, however I firmly believe you should learn Tarot on your own, and perform readings for yourself. There are tons of resources out there and on the Internet for anyone to catch on and understand.
I know it works from experience. I can say though, if you are not open to things then it's less likely that you will be able to read them correctly as each card not only has their own meaning but also the reader needs to be able to see the image on the card relating to the person that they are giving the reading to.
I believe most things are correct with tarot depending on the situation, but anything concerning future happenings should always be taken with a grain of salt because nothing is set in stone and the future is in constantly flux and can change.
I have had mine read multiple times, sometimes fascinatingly accurate results, other times very obvious phonies. Reading your own is simply the best. I've been working on making my own deck and I think the most accurate form of divination is always the most personal.
got shown a path to take; Tarot was part of it.
when I laid off the cards, I did so for years. I'd lost, my pack.
a year or so ago, I was at friends and picked up a set of playing cards, then read them.
the first Tarot I read after all these years, had been my own... and yes, I believe.
One thing I would advise is do a separate reading to confirm and reiforve the first reading.
myself i have read cards for more then 8 years. i am 90 percent correct. i dont cold read , i dont make wild guesses. it does happen that when i look at the card it i blank of any information for i tell them the truth i never bs a person.
Depends on experience. Person getting read. I believe? Only when there is wisdom behind the person. Giving reading. And knowledge. Not random person just trying Hand at it.
It's all about the skill of the reader, alright. No, not their skill at reading cards but at reading their "marks" (errr...clients). ;)
I believe they hold power of foresight but only in the hands of a skilled reader. I believe many mysterious art's are true and possible but only accessible through those with a tuned perception and understanding mind
I agree with you partially
it also depends who you get the tarot reading from, there are a lot of people out there who just do it as a joke and if you have some one who is legit who doesn't believe they are usually moved at least a little and believe some of it
Tarot or fortune teeling to me is the person knowing keys in individuals and also blank answer that would fit all people who have their reading. to put ones faith in cards or horescopes to me is not plasible for it is just the person wishing for the right answer to help guide them in the direction they may have already choose.
but this is my stand on it much like vodoo if you dont believe in it its just a word, nothing more nothing less/
I encourage you to learn tarot on your own. There's loads of resources out there that will assist you very much
Its mostly about reading a script as the cards develop it. The general points are evident points made in a mystical pretense.
Probably like anything else in the so-called paranormal, supernatural, other worldly, etc. some are real some are not real.
Several years ago I had a reading. The one that did it was young and she said her mother had the "gift" as well as her. During the session she attempted to talk to me about myself. I was very vague in responding to her, and of course the reading was vague.
I will say this she did make a comment about my right hand bothering me. At the time it was bothering me. She might have picked up on some "cue" I was giving off, on the other hand :) ...............
This was the only tarot "reading" I have ever had.
I think if you have a true physic reading your cards you will get a true reading and it can be a good experience. you can also read your own and i think you get a true reading!
I suggest starting with a simple deck, such as Ryder Waite. That's a great Tarot starter
I do not practice with Tarot, but with Runes.
But to my understanding, Tarot is not used to predict the future but to show you through actions and whatnot where your path is leading you and could lead you, should you continue on the path you've chosen for yourself?
And like much of anything else, with a change in actions and choices, your path could change and vary based on the actions you chose from there on out.
Please feel free to correct that assumption, but that is something that was explained to me when I inquired about them in the past.
Honestly I feel for the most part that its about what the redee wants to or needs to hear. The cards can be interpreted in whatever way the reader needs them to be by reading the body language of the one they are drawing the cards for.
I have had reading and given them. My opinion is that its all about reading the person versus just memorizing the meaning of the deck and spewing general knowledge.
I have used tarot cards and they really work. They are accurate to a point. They only tell you what will happen if you continue what your doing. Your future can always be changed depending on the changes you make in your own life. Tarot cards only help you understand what will come from current actions.
My Opinion is unpopular. First and for most one should NEVER read there own any thing tarot, runes, greek stones, Alchemy stones, Ogam, bones or any thing else. if you do and you believe what its saying it because you want to believe, its Biased.
Two as for the cards them self's, They leave way to much for interpretation so many( not all so don't get you nickers in a twist) people who use them tend to just do what is known as dry readings and that's why you get the skeptics.
I go to the same person on regular basis and her readings gave always turned out to be correct

True enough in my opinion. When one has the ability to read and or influence their "client" then they become one who has power over them. And what a price one will pay for such. On both ends I am sure. Try reading your own cards an see the various ways you can do this to yourself. However with all do respect.. I have sought the advice an wisdom from those methods both from myself as well as outside influences of trusted friends and it did help to gain a clearer vision of progression for me. What one would pay for to go to counseling or psychotherapy to help unravel a mind one can also seek out other avenues to gain a better perspective of the world both within and without. I suppose buyer beware suites both arenas no?
one major red flag is if during or after a reading the reader mentions a curse on you, and also that for a fee the curse can be lifed, it is a scam.
i have done many readings and will tell that we can only tell what the cards say where or not you take the jounry is up to you to walk down the path for every choice you make changes the reading and your fate.. yes sometimes the cards can give a false reading.. but in the end it is you who decides to take the adivce and reap the rewards or fail to move out of yourselfs way to move forward...
When it comes to tarot I have only this to say: to each their own. I, personally, don't like tarot readings because they are not static enough for me. There are other factors that play into a reading: environment, emotional state of both the reader and receiver.
Even if the Tarot readings are not accurate, the cards are a good subject for meditation and the symbols are fascinating. Just think that they contain the essential things of the human world.
It`s a different way of making sociology.
