Why are most of us here?
On this site i mean.
What do we hope to take away with us when it is all said and done?
Or is it just an addiction chosen to pass the time l ike so many other things we get wrapped up in.
What choices, or circumstance brought you here?

What is a good question. I joined at first because I love profile sites (Darkstarlings, MySpace...). Now I am still on here because this wonderful site is incredibly addictive and there are lovely, kind hearted and delicious creatures on here.

I am here because my friends thought I might enjoy it. Still here because of the great people that I talk to.

Yeah , there are lots of nice people here and I like talking to them :) That's pretty much what I do all day ... :) Anyone got a spare life ?

Myself, i have been plagued with sleeping disorders since the age of twelve.
So the night life and the darker side of things has always been a bit appealing and an addiction to say the least.
Some of these disorders include:
Twilight narcolepsy, central sleep apnea, cataplexy, hypnopomic, and hypnogogic hallucinations, temporal lobe seizures,
and a list of other psychotic associations the fine medical establishment wants to tag me with, ranging from depression to bi-polar, to amphetamine psychosis, to just about every nut bag theory they can pull out of their hat or latest medical journal. But they all disagree and can't seem to nail it on the head.
Even with blood tests, and electro encephalagraphs, you know those sleep studies where they hook up copious amounts of uncomforterable wires to your head where you feel like a christmas tree, and then say go to sleep...
And this is at night...
It's not at night that i have a problem...
And the day time study was done in a dark room as well...
Hello, sunlight triggers melotonin production, but the body stores it for a period of time till it's lights out...
Except in my case it's hello sunshine light out for me, or i'll get cataplexy and start drooling on myself or some kinda crazy shit like that....
Sometimes i go to sleep in the daytime, heaven forbid in the passenger seat on a hot day, and people think im dead.
No breathing, ect.
So i tend to be a night person.
And no it's not that my cercadian rhythms are off simple as you please.
The tests proved that.
And yes at times it happens at night as well.
Allergic to the sun, just a bit, but not like i break out in hives or any kinda shit like that...
Just a screwed up chemical reaction.
Then there is the +'s to the night life.
Better people lurking around for sure.
And you can't see the beautiful moon through the autumn trees at noon time...
So it's the night life for me and the people that draw me to sights like this one.
They say it's all fantasy, but i've found more people here that have a reality all their own, and arn't trapped in the fast pace day time culture where they take away all independant thought and free will.
So in short you guys are a breath of fresh air.....

i dunno, I guess because I was looking for other people who are into what I am into. I like it so far and plan to stay for a while.

I ended up here by accident. I stayed because I can relate to most of the people here.

Xander I'm with you. I was searching google for clubs in the area I happened to be in, ended up here and have met some incredible people in the process.

Random surfing, typing gibberish into the search engine to see what would come up.

I've found the site from irc.Have been chatting on-line for years and once I typed #vampires and it existed.There was the site on topic.But after some months I decided to join.Reason?
Well, I already had friends who joined and met new people too.The site was nice so I remained till now.

I am on this site because some one wanted me to check it out, so I did and..that's why I'm here now.

well I have known most of the mods and original members for almost ten years....so when I was given an invite by the delectible queen of molests moreish I said sounds fun.....and well....most of the time it still is...better way to waste time than televallium too....

cant remember why i joined, think it was cause the people appealed to me thought i wud make some new friends here, also i have an interest in vampires

and i have made alot of friends, its a really great site.

A lot of my friends were joining this, so I thought I'd check it out.

This is a link to a world outside of my own. I am glad to say it has made a few friendships possible. Now I don't talk to myself as much anymore and I feel less alone.

I'm here like Ghawk. I live in conservative Iowa, and in desperate search for a club, or something that is more in my style...
(Am sick of "dance" r&b clubs with a passion.)

Meanwhile, I ran into VR.

This site isn't oversaturated with immaturity like most.

I've been more loyal and have recommended VR to a few of my fellow "gothies" over any other goth site on the net.

the people...the feel...information...the profile that can be commented on and see peoples veiws from around the world..its overall very interesting..

Found VR searching for vampire sites...have been here since.

I'm here for a few reasons..

1. It's illegal to put babies on spikes

2. The voices in my head direct me here

3. Here there are people that are wierder then me

4. Somtimes peoples incessive babbling can be highly entertaining

5. I come here to see grammar at its finest!

The kind people. ^_^ The darkness. ^_^ I dunno.... Why not?

I like the ppl I have met and the topics are very interesting.

Mainly boredom. I didn't join to make friends or anything like that, I just had nothing better to do at the time. But after a while, this site kinda grows on you...

I like this site because the people are nice and the topics are cool.

I came accross the site and I liked what I saw. it's alot better then mos of them out there

i dont even remember how i found this site i think i saw a link or something and i proabaly clicked on it b/c it had to do w/ vampires and i of course love vampires...and next think i knew i was hooked, there are so many wonderful and nice people who i can really realte on here too cuz theres not to many people like me in southern california :D

honestly i was looking for ppl of like minds as myself and make new friends find a loved one and stating my views with others that would not find me weird and make me feel welcome, feeling like an orphan and looking for that lost family I 've been searching for.

I found this place by accident... I was just skipping around from site to site and then, I finally ended up here... I started my account, set myself up, and within the first hour, I had met people... People on this site are some of the nicest people I have ever met... We were all brought here to make eachothers lives better...

i was really looking for a goth chat room when i saw this i fell in love with it the moment i clicked on and the ppl here r so nice that i felt at home

i found this site when i was ordering a new sword from another site(dragonscavern.com) and saw the vr banner at the bottom of the page and i wanted to check it out. i stayed because there r alot of people here i can relate too and i like it here.

why this site? well i think that's because it's the coolest vampire site i've seen

I couldn't get on Vampirefreaks @ school so my friend and I just found another site to get on that had to deal with some of the same shit and its been awsome.

this site because all the informations about vampires are here: movies,games,music...and not just that...this game is kool :)

To be honest just saying your here outta boredom is kinda insulting. This place is more than a "place to create profiles". Its a community and a hive of info, a place to voice your opinions and much more.

I, too, was looking for goth clubs in the general area and stumbled on this site.

I have stayed because of some of the discussion and many of the people.

Also, I have fun playing grammar and spelling Nazi - in spite of my own typodemon affliction (thank you Daermon for siccing that rat bastard on me).

blood lust brought me here but the reason i saty is because of the fact that here i can talk to ppl who under stand my views on life death and under stand the way i think

I think it's a little bit of everything. But mostly I think it's because you can talk openly on here and no one thinks you need to be institutionalised. Now that's always a bonus. But other than that, the people are friendly and interesting ... I suppose the site has also conditioned us to be so .... I mean on what other site would you actually be interested in my journal entries? Really?

But seriously, I like it here. Every one does get around to reading everything and that means that I have a voice that is heard, maybe not always understood, cause in case you hadn't noticed, I tend to loose the point on a regular basis .... But you all put up with it, and most of you have said that you don't mind it, but that's ok.

In short, I can be me here, no masks, no fakes, just me, plain, uncensored ME, and I LOVE that.

Yeah my original answer was because my Girlfriend asked me to have a look at her world for once and i did and i loved it so i stayed..but yeah it's much more than that...I've not been to a site like this before ever.This site rocks in so many ways,and the members are very friendly.

i found this site through a friend and i love it so much, no other could substitute, i've been here so quite awhile as you can see. and the reason i love it soo much is the people, you are all so lovely, no where else have i found so many people who are caring and ready to help and listen.
