i know everyone says to be a vampire u have to be bitten but i dont think that is true what do u guys think it takes to be a vampire i think ur jus born to be one u might know when ur born u r one but sociaty makes u think ur not ten u just realise it so what everyone elses oppinion bout how one gets to be a vampire

for some it is a bite.....for others the partaking of vamp blood, for yet others it is ritual.....and some are born...there are as many variations as there are ppl to come up with them in my mind....

i would have to agree there are some born and bitten i know born vampires and i know bitten because i myself am one that has been bitten

Real Vampyrism your born into, there is no bitting involved. Yet, whether its like a Gene or just some random spiritual flux, I have yet to decern.

How does one become a Vampire? lol....Your killing me here. First, if you become one go to your local shrink and see if he/she will prescribe you with some heavy meds.

I feel Vampirism is a state of mind and not something that you are born to be. It is a way of life that you become part of. I am not one but from what I have seen here that would be my opinion of it.

Its a state of mind. I have been bitten by people before, but that doesn't mean that I was 'turned' or any of this cinematic nonsence.

I believe that all humanity has the potential to be a vampire, just as we have the potential to be angelic.

It depends on the events of our lives and our understanding of the universe around us whether we walk down a dark path or a light path and some may reach the stage of becoming through an event which changes thier conciousness so that they are capable of undertaking vampyric intent.

Some people will ever break the conditionaing of their lives and as such, their auraus will never develop to a level capable of comprehending and manipulating the energy around them and so, will never become vampires or angels...in this life, at least.

My current understanding of vampyrism is of a deficency or 'hole' in the energy feild which surrounds and imbues our bodies and this hole does not get filled up naturally...it is similar to a blockage in one of the chakra or meridian points in your body and this blockage is not able to be removed through traditional yogic techniques, etc...so we take to feeding in order to simply maintain our balance and not feel like we are about to die every time we wake up...

as to being bitten...I guess that it is possible that a psychic feeding through a bite could take so much of your energy from you that it breaks a critical point from which your body will never recover, but this is pure supposition on my part.

As you say a "hole" but most of the time a hole in someone’s persona is based on the fact that in thre own mind something is missing. Hence a metal issue and nothing more.

I don't no believe that if people stopped drinking blood that there body would curl up and die but the mind may be affected by this.

And as far as you soul people that feel your energy needs substances and you get if from people? Again, metal issue for the body will continue. There is no medical evidence stating that the body can not live from the absence of spiritual energy.

True, the physical needs of the body are supplied with food and water and air, but what of mental development...can we truly achieve all that we can be without being able to open the spiritual gates between us?

And if some of us have problems opening those gates, can we not supplement this loss through some other method, such as drawing energy from others?

I have learned that all epople do it on a very basic level of resonance...we all get 'feelings' about people...we judges whether we like them enough to take a further step in knowing them based on our immediate impressions, which we receive visually through body language, through the tone and inflection of their voice and also through those energies that are more subtle and hence, more difficult to discern and comprehend.

It seems that psy vampures have the capability of understanding, perhaps naturally, but certainly, training can hone a talent and so that can draw additional flows from people in order to replenish their own.

I personally think that there is a possibility that it could be both. Some maybe born to be what they are, and others can be turned. Will we ever know? More than likely not.

For some people, yes, you are bitten, for others, their body awakens, and then they know what they are. I am many things, all awakening in me. You just have to unlock what lies inside of you, that is all, because each person has something locked inside of them.

I think it can be both born and bitten to be a vamp but everyone has there different opinion on this but for me its both!

Ok... well maybe it's because I'm psy, but I've been this way my whole life... born this way... I also do not believe that being bitten can change you into a vampire... otherwise I know a lot of donors that would also be vamps... but they are not, well not really... they do sometimes drink aswell, but it is mostly a fascination with blood taking rather than a need... I do believe in temporary Psy vamps, as I have created a few, you overdrain someone enough they start reaching out to get the energy they need...

It's supersticious to say that you have to be bitten to be a vampire. Everyone has the chance to become a vampire if they wish as everyone is born into 'darkness,' or so it seems. It's your choice really. It all depends on what you know of a vampire and how confident you are about who and what you may be. There's always more then one view on vampirism, which always leads to conflict. You are what you convince yourself. With the help of society, of coarse..

I believe a few things about Vampires.

1) I believe there are many different types of Vampires, other than your typical Sanguine and Psi. "Races" for lack of a better term, unless you want to say "Species".

2) I belive that you can be either born, turned or awakened. Awakened maybe more-so towards Psi-vamps, because they would also be awakening into their psychic abillities.

3) I believe depending on what race of Vampire you are, depends on whether you're "immortal" (in other words, as long as you aren't killed you don't die), or whether you just live a little longer than normal. Longevity in certain races, near-immortality in the others. I'd say maybe some are more like humans, but that's probably just human with a blood fetish (no offense to any one who DOES have a blood fetish, BTW).

4) I believe Vampires are either not allergic to garlic and silver. Can't be killed by holy water or crosses or sunlight. If they CAN, its probably race-specific.

5) If the different races get along, imagine all the different, (POWERFUL) hybrids. Made either by birth, or one species of Vampire trying to turn the other.

6) I also believe in Master Vampires. There has to be some sort of authority keeping the Vampires in check, or else they would probably already be known to main-stream society.

7) I also believe Vampires can make humans half-vamp if they wanted too.

8) I believe that they can make other Vampires their...pets, for lack of a better term. Sort of mentally bind them to you through a blood/energy exchange, depending what species you so-happen to be.

I'm having trouble understanding how you have to be bitten to turn into a vampire. Do you see zombies on a regular basis walking down the streets? Or do you ever see people trying to find zombies to be bitten by one? No. Same goes for vampires. You shouldn't have to be bitten. I agree with EmandraJade, as I said in an earlier post. We're all born into it, but the select few choose to embrace it.

Well, in myth, vampires were created whenever they weren't buried correctly, cursed by a witch, was a witch to begin with who was murdered by townspeople thus coming back for revenge, etc, etc. My personal favorite would actually have to be the self-creation in which going through a particular ritual would craft a vampire.

i believe it depends upon the strength of the soul. for some abite is too strong and death comes quickly, for other tis not strong enough. they must also drink from the Vampires blood. and mayhap, for some that is not strong enough, what then? i do not know. but i do believe some are born to be a creature of the night, a vampire. they are some of the strongest souls on this earth.

I was born as a psivamp, and I knew I was, but hadn't given myself any sort of "category." But the latent snguine vampire inside of me, had come out unpleasently, when I was 13. I was playing with friends, and one had cut himself pretty bad, and I blacked out, and woke up to be on top of him, consuming his blood.

these are all based of different religions and different cultures:
1. inadequat/improper funeral rites
2. the usual, "if a vampyre bites you and gives you his blood, then youll be a vamp also
3. illegitimate sons born out of wedlock and church-sanctioned marriages.
4. sexual relations between witches and/or werewolves
5. born on christmas will be future vampyres

there are different ways to be a vampire, bore or bitten, but its not as easy as just being bitter, there must be a blood exchange, just because you get bitten, doesnt mean the vampric blood is there, there must be an exchange. i myself am a bore, not full blooded though, but just being bitten alone wont do it there must be a blood exchange

Just to inject some harsh reality here...

In 2003, A young man named Alan Menzies, a Scotsman, claimed to have been visited by the [fictional] character Akasha, of Queen of The Damned.

He was apparently promised by this vampire that if he carried out a murder and drank some of the blood of his victim, he would become a vampire in his next life.

He subsequently murdered another man, a freind of his, who had ridiculed his heroine, Akasha.

He then proceeded to drink the blood and even tasted the flesh.

He was sentenced to life inprisonment and was found dead a year later, suicide.

He had watched the movie over 100 times and tried to claim diminished responsibility, but this was rejected.

So...the moral of this tale of woe?

Do not allow the lines between fiction and reality to blur.

From my own experience and from being an actuall part of the vampire community there is only one way to which you are a vampire, but there are many ways to live with in the vampire life style, that one way is to be born into it.

i think it is just how dark your soul is like some may be bitten others born but there are also those out there that went through emence pain and couldnt handle it so they became vampires

Aroura in my personal opinion you are very wrong. If you go through immense pain your mind will feel psychological trauma bu tthis in no way leads to a condition or state where you must consume blood to survive.

Every human experiences immense pain at some point. If your idea were true, we would ALL be vampires. Or atleast the majority of us.

And how dark your soul is has nothing to do with it. I have met the might light and kind hearted people who are vampires. If they had a dark soul they would outwardly show it. You cannot restrain your spirit like you can with your emotions.

Then again, those are just my thoughts. Do not be offended. :)
