I was reading a member article that was talking about energy feedings. Now my question is, is it possible for someone to absorb energy from someone but not be a vampyre?

Oh, i have no doubts. everyone has their own Aura, and my guess is that it wouldn't matter if they were a vampire or not

I'm not entirely sure, but I think a vampire would do it more deliberately, whereas some people just do it naturally without realising it. I'm probably wrong about this though, I don't know too much about psi-vamps

what your talkin about CarnalxViolence is pysvamps that havent Awakened... or there is the chance that some one is not a psyvamp but still 'feeds' in a sense. usally it is is that person recieve sever trama to there aura or energy body in a past life and is tryin to fix it in this life by feedin. once they get the balance they need they will stop needin to 'feed'.

anyone can learn how to feed from somone its just that it is not nessasary for everyone to feed. if there is a need it will come naturally if there is not then it wont.

I believe that if someones absorbing energy, and "not" a vampire, I believe that they just havent awakened yet.
I mean, when I was little I used be a hyper little kid, and most of the people around me where always drained, sure, alot of kids are hyper, but most of the time, the parents can at least keep up with it.
And in my earlier teen years, I always had more energy, while my friends would become easily drained, especially during wrestling and swim practices.

yes u can take someones energy and not be vampyre. i did it when i was human. i just do it more often now that i am vampyre. see vampyres feed from energy, becuz there is a constant supply of it everywhere. it helps to sustain us when we cant feed from blood. when u are human, u can feed from others energy for say a energy boost. or whatever u need it for.

Well I believe your born a vampire, so you can take it when your 'human' but dont know it because your not awakened yet.
And the only way you can tell is if your feeling drained, but of course, if your feeling drained, a vampire isnt always the problem behind it. Vampires are usually a bit more secretive then stareing at someone..

O.o btw, I`m a hybrid, so I dont need energy to sustain me from blood, I can take one or the other and be just fine.

Of course. Energy transfers are not exclusive to vampires. I experience them. I am not a vampire and have no desire to be one. I follow no vampire doctrine and am in no need of an awakening. I am into Metaphysics and the science of it all. If the vampire lifestyle never existed- we would still have human elecricity and magnetism- and I am not even speaking metaphorically. Not only that - but energy charges from human emotion, attraction, and stress.

Stress is a term for a wide range of strong external stimuli, both physiological and psychological- it is an energy that can be brought on from negative energies from people, outcomes, and anticipations. This energy can lead to health problems (heart attacks, even death).

No living thing that is not affected by some serious mental/neurological disorder is immune to energy absorption. If anything energy absorption first belongs ALL beings. In my opinion- Vampires only put a focus on it- for everyone else, it is merely an involuntary action of life.

That is what I think.

for one to Awaken they must first have the Potential. some with the Potenal Awaken on there own. but it can also happen by bein around others of the Awakened or by the Awakened helpin you to Awaken. i was helped to Awaken.. you can see what i posted about it in my pro

I'll have to agree with some of the posters here, such as Carnal, or ellie. I think that energy exchange is a natural part of human relations, and happens with most, if not all, people naturally.

I simply think some people tend to do it to a greater degree, and some will try to absorb or give energy intentionally.

Also, certain relationships and acts are more conducive to an energy exchange. Such as anything involving physical contact or affection--from a friendly hug or a handshake, to sex.

Anyone can learn to draw energy from others. Its not just a specific thing to those of the Condition. Yet we tend to be more natural at it and a bit more sensitive to it then most.

Aye it is possible. I am an empath, I feel other's emotions, I in a sense feed off them as well. It isn't so hard to believe now is it.. humans need other humans because we feed off their energy, we mostly feel at ease with others around, or at least satisfied. You see? We all in a sense feed off other's energies.

Since I consider vampirism to be a practice and not a condition, yes a 'normal' person could. Anyone can become a vampire, provided they understand how to feed and process energy. After a while of doing this they may become compulsive about it. This for me, marks the change up into a developed vampire..instead of just practicing.

I've found myself that those who do absorb energy from others are the less aware of it.

well energy is constant...fuck the energy coming out of the computer screen is passing though your body right now..not to mention about a million other radio, cell phone calls, TV signals etc.. and people give off energy and it passes just the same... and I'm sure everyones body has to absorb some portion of it...be it however small

someone "can" in my opinion do it and sometimes the physical mind not even really know it. Some people are so energy lacking that if you pay mind you can observe how they go from one person to the other person needing to bring some kind of energy to themselves for sheer necessity to stay up and floating.

They aren't energy purpose vamps they are just very depleted souls who are close to the end of the rope in prana and simple soul energy and are what a voodoo priest I knew ..used to call shadows.
He said you had three types of people you came across...!. those who had something for you 2. those you had something for and 3. the shadows ..the ones that had nothing to give or get the ones that just parasitically were here...not even purposefully doing anything but their souls barely remembering to get energy.

the energy they take I believe is not substantial but if you hang around someone like that after abit it will impact over long haul.

In time though if they entangle themselves with only being here for the sheer energy of it and have nothing in their lives to keep them afloat then they can wake up and the physical mind can become addicted to the only thing they are getting out of life...."energy" from others and then they become not harmless but more of a threat to the simple unaware...feed. Depending on the level and nature of what they evolve into. Or they can just fall into a very bottomless pit due to getting the energy and then the soul not even knowing how to use it.

Of course anyone can "feed" off of other's energy. Have you ever been in a crowd and just been carried away by the mood of the crowd? You are feeding off of it's energy.

Non-vamps can feed either intentionally or unintentionally. I am not a vamp. I often feed off of people I am close to when I am in sever pain. They know it and allow it. Mostly is it just my children. I have a condition that does cause me to be in pain all the time, most of the time it is manageable, but there are times it gets bad and that is when feed off of others to give me the energy I need to get things done.

it is very possible. as i am not a vampire i know about it. i can absorb energy from friends and family if i'm not careful and lose control of myself.

It's entirely possible. I'm not a vampire and I 'feed' off of others for ritual work or just for the rush. It also gives one heightened sensitivity. A number of pcionics schools suggest taking in energy before any practice.

For those who asked, it is possible to tell when you are being fed from. If you are sensitive enough, you will feel a very subtle pulling at the point where the energy is leaving you. After a while, you might start to feel lethargic and 'drained'.

I've heard of this but also I'd like to look to a masterpiece called Legacy of Kain...Also Soul Reaver...One main character, Raziel in name, feeds of of soul while Kain, himself, feeds off of blood...

it is possible. many people feed off of one another, whether it be vampires, wolves, or just an ordinary person looking for vindication.

Look at it like this.

You go into a store of some kind and the clerk is having a really good day. Smiling, cheerfullness, all that good stuff. You feed off of their energy. You smile inturn, even if you are having a rather crappy day. You often times feel a little bit better.

Same situation, turned around. You feel pissy that the clerk didn't smile or whatever, you feed off the negative energy.

You watch a movie where someone close to the charactor dies. If you've experienced the same thing, you'll cry, you're feeding off the energy of the charactor even if it's just a movie.

I call it emotions rather than "feeding energy"

People feed off of things all the time... Music, Art, Sex, Food (Obviously), love, compassion, attention. This dosn't always make them a Psychic Vampire, what does make a "Psychic Vampire" is someone who does feed off of other's "energies" and seeks out (consciously or unconsciously) victims who are easily fed off of, or large sources of the energy that they need. Psyvamps are predators, whether they are aware of their habits or not. Somtimes they are beneficial to someone, and create a co-dependant relationship between them that benefits both parties, sometimes, they're frenzy feeders.

well this is not in any way my place of expertise...but...i think it is possible..but only when you exchange are you in the process of making a new person..a new life...but if it is a transfer...there is no way the two will mix...now whether this is true for psy i don't know..someone please tell me...-mieta-

In many cases, people can exchange energies... when two people get hyper while talking, that is an amplification of energies, and exchange, without any real "consumption".

I agree with most of the posts previous to mine that it is possible for everyone to take energy you juat have to do it and some people have to learn how while others do it naturally. I do it without realizing it but when i take someone elses energy I tend to be wide open so to speak for days or weeks at a time with an overflowing energy and then when I realize that this has happened I try to release some of this energy to people around me in order to bring them up... I hope that made sense..... I have yet again left you with my point of view. ;)

Thats wierd I have never felted anything any of you speak of. Like I said before all that I have felted in life if any are emotions, diferent type of them, most coming from when I hear music. ^_^ I love music, other times are when I am watching television.

Yes, I believe the potential of non-vampyric energy feeding is possible. Some of us might have it and may or may not be aware of it.

I believe so...Why do you have to be a vamp just to feed on energy? It is like a non vamp being around someone with a lot of energy and they might just be sick, but they will all of a sudden get a jolt because not only may they be feeding off of you, but maybe (if the person is close and does not like to see you down) they may be trying to give you the energy..I have seen it done...Although after giving up energy, they tend to feel weak themselves..

yea i think you can take energy from other people. in some tribes where shamans (a kind of wizzards) are common it is known that they can use the energy from other ppl. and in lots of cultures exist believes about losing your energy in diferent ways.

To the person who asked the difference between feeding off of emotions and feeding off of life energy, the difference lies in that when feeding off emotions, you absorb the excess emotion being emitted by the 'victim' for lack of a better word. When feeding off of pure life energy, mood has little effect. It is simply taking the raw energy that is sustaining the person being fed from. From what I've read.

yo udont have to be a pis vamp to be able to feed off the energies of others...look at the people that thrive on drama or fear from people...it doesnt make them a vampyre ..it just shows that they have learned to tap into our privet self and steal our engery to make themselevs feel more powerful

Yes, there are many energy feeders who aren't vampires. they don't even know about the concept of energy feeding but being around them is like a major chore. I noticed that in some cases people who talk alot often tend to be energy feeders. My step sister is one and she talks non-stop, you can never get a word in and once you leave her you are tired. She doesn't know what she is doing eespecially she won't even talk about this kind of subject due to her choice of religion.

something i have not seen mentioned here that i feel merits pointiong out is that it is also possible to do the opposite, and tansfer energy from yourself into another person at will.

it is also important to note that ideally when absorbing energy from another person into yourself it is a good idea to cleanse the personality traits of that person from the energy first. psi vamps usually do this on an instinctual level however some people need to use a focus or filter in order to do this. not purging energy before incorporating it can, in the log run lead to a schizophrenic like state where a personality becomes fractured by the other bits of personality absorbed from others. usually this effect is temporary and goes away after a short time but for high feeders or those who feed consistantly off one person it can cause permanant damage.

I believe that energetic exchanges happen everyday, between people, people-environment.
The difference, if you will, is that the vampire doesen't enter a symbiotic relation with the donor, because it gives nothing in return. The vampire just takes, to fill the energetic gap that the energy of others, the elements, now we would enter the vast realm of feading techniques, that he requires to have a balance in his own energetic field.

as phoenix has stated, you can transfer engery from yourself to others...it what healers do but its much more harful then any transfer of energy..if one isnt praticed and careful, the one giving the energy can bring themselves to a dangerous low, even to the point of death

I believe it is more of an emotional 'feeding' if anything. Empathetic without being vampiric.
Personal opinion, though.

The difference between a feeder and a vampire is a feeder usually "sips" off of excess emotion/energy, sometimes to up their energy when they're down, or to get a reading off of someone. the typical symptoms could be a calmer state, a more centered and /or grounded sense of self, a loss of a frazzled feeling, and less frantic in the presence of someone.

A Vampire feeds off of someone's energies or emotions with no concern to how the person iwill be feeling after. The people usually leave feeling tired, drained, one common side effect is a slight headache at the base of the neck/head conjunctior. (Also known as the energetical back door). There are some intelligent "Psy Vampires" who only sip off of the excess energy that people emit, but those are usually the people who are in beneficial relationships with their donors. *winks*

I believe all people feed off each other's energies, especially with those that are close to you. I guess the only difference is that vampires do it intentionally, and that it indeed does come more natural to them.
But I think everyone can and does absorbe energy from others around us.
