O- is a righteous type and an awesome band.

I do not believe they taste differently. Some types may be valued by some people simply because of their rarity. But, there is no real difference.

I do not know of any difference as far as vampirism is concerned.

I'm o+. I've been told my blood tastes good, but I don't think its any reflection on type, rather than diet. One of my donors eats a high-salt diet and I can taste it in his blood. And apparently vegetarians taste best of all.

As was stated, just blood types in general carry no taste, but one's diet will reflect in the blood.

Yeah, I'm also A+ and like clockwork, the Blood Bank calls me to donate - goodness, I must be part of the 10 gallon club by now!

I believe there was a very similar thread recently...Everyone has their preferance, for many different reasons...

I have no idea what type i am.....but to be honest it doesn't really matter what type you are or which type tastes better, you could be O- and taste like iron or you could be A+ and taste like iron etc (i hope your still with me on this) The taste of blood is due to the foods we eat and drinks that we..well..drink! Someone with a really high sugar level has a sickening bitter taste to it but someone who doesnt have chocolate or sweet's that often but eats looks of veggie's have a rather sweet but bitterly taste....so blood type doesnt really matter!! (Hope this makes sense!?)

I don't know what mine is, but apparently, my blood is pretty sweet...all the sugar I eat and drink stay in my blood stream and those who have tried it mention that it's sweet...I myself haven't noticed; I guess it's pretty good, but I haven't been able to taste the sugar yet...

The type of blood doesn't determine taste. It's what is in your diet or if your on meds that determines taste and even consistency. I'm O+ myself. :)

I'm with Batty on this one. It's what you take in that determines the taste, not the existance of typs a or b or the lack there of (type o) or the rh factor.

I happen to be O+, the universal blood type. A couple of friends have made reference to some blood tasting sweeter than others. I don't necessarily believe them to think so depending on blood type, merely on there donors eating habits. I personaly don't know, I can only imagine.

yeah i have noticed that the type of blood has nothing to do on the taste i actually base my preferance in color the darker the better but thats just me

There really isn't much a difference in the taste so i'm assuming that it doesn't matter.

I never realized that diet affects blood taste. I am a vegan (well I eat chicken and eggs sparingly). So I assume that changes the way my blood tastes compared to say a "Super Size Me" freak who eats at Mickey D's all the time.

I find the whole mystery of blood typing fascinating for some werid reason - but then I am just weird anyway.

Don't think there is a difference, blood is blood, and its to feed on for streinght and energy

O- here, and I have to agree with the majority that type doesn't affect taste. Diet and meds do most definately, and people who take a lot of multivitamins have very nasty tasting blood.

It really doesn't taste too much different... The difference between blood types is the proteins that surround the blood molecule itself.

There are proteins attatched to the blood molecule... On type A there are only type A proteins. Both proteins are homozygous A (IA IA), heterozygous A (IA ia), or recessive A (iA iA)... On B, only type B proteins: Homozygous, heterozygous and recessive only with B. On type AB there is a mix of both the A proteins and the B proteins. Type O has no proteins on the outer coat, so therefore it is the universal doner cause anyone can have it. Since AB has all the proteins it is known as the universal reciever, and cannot donate to anyone other that that type.

i really dont even know my own blood type...it doesnt bother me..and blood type is of no real importance to my energy intake from the blood. as long as its fresh from the wound and clean im happy :)

when my aunt had bone marow cancer they tested everyone in the family. me and my uncle both had O+ and a high platlet count plus my blood clots very fast so i had to go in once a week and give my aunt some platlets.

the first time i went in and they tested my blood the nurse had to prick my fingers 4 times before she got enough blood test because it clots so fast

but blood dose tast good.

For 24 years I believed I had "A" blood type, with Rh-.
Last week I`ve done the test again and it came out as AB with Rh+!!!!
So, before you use the blood, yours or others, test it for the blood type and Rhesus factor!!! You might be in for a big surprise!
The good part about being an AB, Rh+...I can accept blood from everyone!

I'm a vegitarian, and mine tastes great, but I don't think blood type has anything to do with it, I wouldn't think so.

How about ab- ? I was told during a blood drive that my blood should be given as it was very rare. I dont get into the studying bloodtypes to me blood is blood and has always tasted a bit salty to me. Maybe its the salt from ones skin that makes it taste that way to me.

Ya if you medically had it put in you, but I don't think drinking a little bit of a certain blood type can result in death. Unless they have some desease.

I agree - ddrinking blood - ingesting it rather, should not affect you. Only a transfusion. And Rh factor can harm mother both mother and baby if they are opposite. That is why it used to be required to have a blood test before a marriage license. Now there are medical ways of intervening should a mother/baby have incompatible blood types.

I still think blood typing is a good idea. And there is a *diet* based on blood type too. I wonder if it works - lol

I don;t think that it really has any effect, and when it comes to a matter of taste, that depends on your health and your lifestyle rather than your type.

the blood type doesnt matter what matters is how pure the blood . i can smell the blood of a donnor and tell if they take any meds or even smoke.

I guess all this goes to prove that you really ARE what you ingest and smoke and whatever.

I'm AB -, but besides the difference in taste and feel I don't think that the blood type matters, it's all about the energy involved and not the personal taste though this might make large a difference for the one in choice.

Hehe, I can't tell if smoking pot really influences the blood taste itself cause I'm not a Sang but I do know that it doesn't thin the blood down and it doesn't influence the blood production process.Therefor it shouldn't make any critical difference.

My blood type (AB -) is the most rare of all.

A part of me likes this fact while the other 99% are thinking 'Crap, if I ever get into an accident I'm f*cked'

I've never donated any blood so far, I know I should for exactly this reason but the thing is I just can't stand friggin needles!

there is a very small but distinct difference in blood types which is abit obvious when you tast them

Donors with AB blood types have universal donor plasma, so it can be transfused safely into a patient of any blood grouping.

I dont honestly believe that there is much of a diffrence in the types, more of the people themselves. Everyone tastes diffrent.

In regards to your second query, I have never noticed a difference between blood affected or unaffected by cannabis.

Scientifically, yes it would matter about blood type unless you were type O negative. This is because, the factors that make up your blood type are different. the positive and negative represent the rhesus factor. and the A,B,AB,and O grouping represents your antibody typing. If an A+ person were to have B- blood enter their body it can cause rejection and all sorts of complications. This is why blood typing and matching is so important with transfusion. It is, however, less of an importance when the amount of blood is that of a teaspoon. Blood mixing also affects clotting ability and can cause severe convulsions, but then drinking any type of blood can cause convulsions eventually. People have different levels of tolerance!

Im a o-,but i think the taste of a persons blood depends on there health and age,smoker or non-smoker etc.

Actually you got me - I was thinking of rhesus factor, but got it mixed up with the RhoGAM.
Actually that does present an interesting sidebar about RhoGAM works. Hasn't this made the pre-marriage blood test obsolete for the most part? Personally I think it is a wise decision to do it anyway.

There's been some debate as to whether taking the RhoGAM injections are a good idea or not. Some people are wary because it is made of human blood products.
Also prior to 2001 RhoGAM carried mercury in the form of a preservative. This is no longer the case though.
A pre-natal blood test may still be wise to avoid taking it if it's not necessary.

I had to get the RhoGAM injection for all three of my pregnancies, before and after birth.
Like you though I don't have any plans for more children or marriages in the future. :)

As for the chemistry of rhesus factor.
Being Rh+ means that the surface of your red blood cells carry the Rhesus antigen.
Being Rh- means that those antigens are not present on the surface of the red blood cells. When Rh+ blood is introduced to Rh- blood the Rh- reacts by producing antiboies in response to the presence of foreign or invading substances (antigens).

You talking about type in terms of lettering and signs (A+, etc.) There is no difference. What DOES matter, and what does have a difference is the sexes. Male and female taste nothing alike. I prefer male; I can't stand female. What the others say of diet is probalby true, but what about basic ingestion? What drugs you do, or the things you breath in. One who does pot or alcohol has a certain taste you can even get a buzz from. Every drinkers has a different taste b/c they all have different lives, not whether you're an O- or whatever. I'll tell you one thing that does affect the taste: quite simply, how bad you are. If you're young and a true Christian yuck, but if you're say one who adheres to the darker side of life and jacks off a lot, or is a player, or who hates their parents, or some shit like that, they are great.

I don't know what blood type I am. Haha, I think I'm an A + too. Vampires probably think certain types are better. The more rare blood types are probably better because there's less of it around the world compared to the majority.

I dont for say know that a blood type matters. But I only have 2 donners and I cant tell much of a difference other then one has a more salty diet.

Blood type definetely doesn't matter, like others have said, the diet changes the taste. 100% positive on that, blood is blood, "Normal" sustenance is processed through it, which changes its taste. The taste differs depending on what you eat.

Blood is blood, the essence of life, that which we can't live without. Maybe some are more favourable, wouder what christs blood type was?

This is only my opinion but type to me does not matter. It is more so the emotion state that matters to me. I like the taste of lust as odd as that may sound.

Ciming from a Nurses point of view O+ is the most common blood, and robin3 had a thread about Vampires when they feed about blood types also. if Vampires feed on one another they should be the same blood type, if not the stomach lining will rot away. Thats the bad thing. So its best to be safe. Good thread mina sis again *smiles*

O+ can give to anyone but can only receive O+ blood. A+, B+, AB-, etc. can all take their own bloodtype, and O+. The taste is determined by food and drink of the donor - drugs and alcohol can be passed through the blood as well!

The only thing that affects the taste is what you eat, be careful of Italians, too much garlic.

i am type 0-negative,and no they do not matter,just depends on the person and what there eating habits are,they don't taste any different,some are bitter,some are sweet,some are both
