I have seen many people mention awakening on this forum thusfar, and I cannot help but get confused by the word. What is your definition of an awakening? Have you experienced it? What exactly happened?
An awakening is when one discover's there vampiric abilities and so on ....
My definition of an awakening is when you realize something that should have benn obvious to you. It is when you find something new in your life that you believe should have already been there.
For me it was when I decided that my entire life needed a make-over. I dropped the load of crap, christianity(sorry if that was offensive), stopped wearing a fake smile on my face and realized that I could make myself happy without the help of other people.
But, sometimes, awekenings aren't always good ones or, we don't realize that we've had one.
Hope that helped...
Yes, sorta like when we discover what we are and then when we decide what are are going to do with them!
Awakening is as they have said before me to wake up to ones vampire or lycan side of yourself.
Me I am a psy-vamp my awakening happened here my acceptace of that which has always been apart of me...
Many here of both psy and sang types as well as lycans and not in a hollywood sense of the terms...
Thank you for your responses...
To bring my question to a more direct point, is an awakening just an idea that pops up in your head or something more of an epiphany or spiritual experience?
Like stated before, and awakening is just you coming to relisation of something profound about yourself or relising that what you are at the moment is not really you.
Its not limited to anything occult or vampiric or lycan related...
There are as many different forms of awakenings as there are people in the world.
I do think that has been discussed in past topics though ..
I think that "awakening" is that time in your life when you can stay out past the street lights coming on. Then you have more time to think of ways to piss your parents off. That is, if you think that your awakening is some other time than the day you were born. IMHO.
Respectfully, and with brutal honesty,
Illuminati
an awakening is when u realize who and what you are and then allow the proccess to occur to become all that is possible for you in this lifetime..It isnt the hollywood get biten by a Vamp. although that's lovely, if I do say so myself
I think Mikhail has a point. We have traits that we do not even know define us, an awakening might be when the tide goes away and we see in the shallowness of our being the deoth of a trait that defined us all along, and to embrace the vampire in us.

"Thank you for your responses...

To answer this further question it was a deep spiritual experience for me. It took me coming to this site and meeting others like myself to even allow the idea of who and what I am. My Epiphany was this there are more out there like me and I need not fear my inner being. Excuse me Lownightus my brother here brought me out of this closet I had imposed onmyself from fear of myself, I had in fact tought people how to misdirect the energies of pasy-vamps before coming here only due to my not understanding my own nature...
Mikhail
i totally agree with lownignitus on that it dosent have to do with any religios or vampiric or lycan ...... it can be about anything whenyou realise who you were trying to be isnt you.......it could be for instance how you were raised and brought up to belive certain things and one day you have an awakening and go oh yeah i understand now thats not who i am at all......or who i want to be......this is me...... its like finding your true self .......
In my opinion, the awakening is more like an epiphany for the fact that all of the clouds that were covering my life just disappeared and were of no more. From there, it is more of coming to grips with what you realized that you are and by accepting that and taking part in it rather than hide from it.
in my opinion awakening... means.. t ohave feelings insdie that are deaD BROUGHT BACK T OLIFE.. WITHIN YOU.. T OREALIZE THAT YOU HAVE THESE FEELINGS INSIDE...
In my opinion, awakening is to discover who you really are, and not what society has molded you to be
I posted a thread that was aimed at finding out how we became to identify ourselves as vampires. For me the transformation was a realization that my gifts have always seemed a bit out there. A specific time, was meant to see if all of sudden one realized they were creatures of the the night. In many cases people described being lead along by relatives or parents. For me it came together this summer when I realized that the gifts I had and the needs I felt had a place.
my awakening was just my realization that there are other " worlds " out there that are not visible to most eyes.
epiphany is a term that should not be loosely thrown about. Epiphany is one of those words that have a whole series of books describing the feeling of. Fortunate Fool it may be the answer you are searching for, epiphanies are awakenings, and I guess from what I know now, an awakening on an epiphany level would be one where the universal n you that made you, coelesces and takes over all of you, and all that was wrong in your formation has been paved over and you are in touch with the universal experience.
Just to make sure I understood what you mean, VAMPARIAH...
there are different ways an awakening can occur? One of which is a simple realization of possibilities and one of which brings you closer to yourself (in the form of an epiphany) which would be almost like... this is so difficult to word... hm... like you could feel it in every fiber of your being?
I apologize for my ignorance on the subject... at least I'm living up to my name... (insert chuckle here)
Please do not just listen to what someone says..research for yourself..listen to the explanations here but remember it is what feels right to you. Just because someone gets really long winded does not make it correct
An awakening is different for each person. It takes many different forms. Mine was in the form of dreams and actions working together to help me realize that I was a little different. Just like no two people feel the exact same type of anger or happiness, there is no one definition of awareness.
in my opinion awakening is the proces in human life when he or she discover the power which is within him. Awakening isn't only regarded in vampiric scheme. It could be in any other form, within human psychic or metaphysical...

My awakening is when my alarm goes off for the 5th time and it finally hits me I'm late for a flight....
...how many awakening threads do we need anyway?
FortunateFool, I think for me the idea of awakening was when I decided to nurtrure, to investigate, and to live the vampire lfie that I feel was calling all along. It was this last summer and despite the sarcastic remarks about awakening on this thread, most of the members have been very insightful with regard to our identifying who we are.
An awakening is when you discover your true self. What you really are, your abilities, and decide how to embrace this discovery.
my awakening was fairly easy on me. being a born psy, my body was doing what it needed to with out my knowledge. once i figured out what was going on i was able to gain control of my abbilities.
An awakening is a beautiful thing, for it means that you have found all that you are. Your safe, but sometimes it can come at the wrong moment in your life, like when you lose someone.
But it makes you stronger, and better for it.
Mine was when i lost someone, my grandfather, who was dear to me. I thought that since he was died, so was i. But when a rush of pure emergy came over me, and i reopened my tear filled eyes, everything seem brighter, my sense seems like they could look beyond almost anything.
well, my awakening was when i realized who i was. it was a powerful experience and finally everything made sense so i'd say that it's when you realize who you really are, whether it's being a vampire or a lycan.
it can mean many this of life death to be who u want to be it is all about u and how u want to be awakening or do u want to be
to me it is a call of higher things to come
My take on awakening is as lownignitus put it, it can be of any kind. An awakening is not limited to those who are vampire, werewolf, or any creature like that. It is open to everyone and can come at any time. The best I can suggest is to be open to it. When it hits, its better to accept it rather than reject it, as Natriel said. Also, and I quote "my awakening was just my realization that there are other "worlds" out there that are not visible to most eyes." (bloodydamiana), is where my *awakening* started. I think ravenna052199 and mechelle007 have got the right idea :)
my definition of an awakening is it happens when you least expect it, all of a sudden things make sence, you feel stronger and that you feel the energy in which flows through your body, so like an epiphany but also a spirtual experiance. hope that helps.
Awakening is when you find yourself and come to discover your abilities.
From what I have gathered it is my understanding that to experience an "awakening" is to accept your status as a vampire. This is not stating that you are drinking blood or that you have been resurrected. This is simply indicating that an individual has taken the existing traits that have shown throughout their lives to discover their true vampyric nature. It is completely psychological.
In the general sense if you include reality and rpg, then all the above definitions are correct.
Personally, awakening occurs when a vampire or otherkin (werewolf, etc) has that part of them that is vampiric come alive. Awakening happens during puberty for some real vampires. Some claim they were born awake and aware. I would argue against this by stating that the ego is still not self-aware to the point of recognizing its nature until puberty awakens the male and / or female side of us and begins the process of discovery through adulthood. This is the case in the person who has been vampiric in a previous life and chose to retain that nature through the next and possibly into the next if that is their desire.
There are those who are awakened later in life, typically viewed as the "midlife crisis" phase where one begins to deliberately probe and search the self. As this process occurs, that which is true and real comes to the surface.
Sometimes, the awakening happens as the result of a damaging event so profound that it manifests energy damage / auric damage that can't be repaired readily by the body in this lifetime or several lifetimes.
This last is my personal case, and now that I have become, I am going to stay. I enjoy the vampiric abilities, even with its presumed weakness of relying upon others for feeding.
I thought I should also add after reading a few more posts above: I don't believe that just realizing more about yourself personally (I like vs I don't like) has much to do with awakening at all. One can understand the basics of themselves without be truly "awake".
Awake, as it were, refers to the state of heightened awareness of not only the Self, but one's unique relationship to all that is around the Self. It is a spiritual understanding of reality that begins with the vastness of space and time and extends into truthful understanding of the nature of the Universe.
So, yes, it is possible to be fully self aware and be far from Awakened.
Its hard to explain because it is felt differently by different people. An awakening is the begining of a long process of self discovery and it is something that everyone must go through before getting to a higher level so to speak. Your ideas about certain things change, once again a long process, you will not be fully "awake", until we give up this body. Once began an awakening continues to that point, after that point is awareness of the image of death, we will never truly die.
when it happened to me every kinda of light hurt my eyes and i had a terrible thirst but nothing would quench it
simply.... when you realise what you are or what you have become.
For me it is like Dreaming of a past life, Recalling thing's that you have not actually happend to you in this life and some form of spirit trying to reclaim the soul.
In some cases being awaken and still being asleep in your bed..
We are attatched to this life through an umbilical cord to the spirit.
Recluse
iam just wondering here what your total aspect on the rpg has to do with an awakening???????? for those who role play do you mean they have an awkeining of somesort do to the games they play????? or do you mean they realize fact from fiction??????
Joli put it in the most simple and accurate way in my opinion. I agree with Lown as well that it may have nothing to do with vampire or lycan tendencies..Its just self discovery..and acceptance. (just my opinion lol) For me it was incredibly spiritual.
DamonArchist, that was a very heartfelt post.
Directly relating to vamprism, I think it has a lot of different ideas for different people. Many take the idea of becoming a vampire very literally, from being bitten to what they are now (I personally believe this to be highly ficticious.)
For me, vampirism is a heightened sence of perception with the world around us, and an increased understanding and respect for it. It is seeing life from a different point of view, and concentrating on this energy utilisation to make it more efficient- most importantly- without hurting anybody. An awakening into this way of life, for me, was a slow process which took me into a turn in my life where things seemed different, and I could hold my beliefs in confidence, learning from others but not having my beliefs shaken by them... not feeling obliged to follow the status quo to impress others in terms of what I believe, and not pretendin that I am someone else.
I would have to agree that I don't find it thesible that someone was awakened at birth because the cognative thinking abilities still haven't become complete and the personality hasn't become molded enough to truly grasp what is going on.
Well Kristiana, the point I try to make is that you have to find that out for yourself, through the experimentation that is life. I am awoken in some ways, but not in others.

My definition... Awakening is where you realize what otherkin you are. I dont limit this simply to Vampire. It could be anything. It can also be the point in which if you have any gifts they may begin to start working.... Its almost like being a small baby and realizing that if you put one foot in front of this foot flat on the floor.. you can go from here to there... its a point in ones life where they begin to learn new things about yourself. :)
Someone seeking knowledge awesome!
Well I, like many others here, believe that you are not turned into a vampire but you are born that way and once you do a blood ritual by drinking or taken in the essence of someone you awake that part of yourself fully. Of course you always feel it there, I know I did even as a child, but once I got my first taste it fully came to the surface. I hope I explained my experience good enough because it is hard for me to explain something that mere words can't describe...
An awakening to me is when you find the abilities that you have and figure out how to use them to the best of your knowledge... i believe that you are born with those abilities..
I have to go with everyone who has said that an awakening is simply when you realize something about yourself. When you can finally put a word or reason to why you act or feel a certain way.
Awekening to me is like a slap in the face. Bam, here it is and you had it in front of you the whole time...Awekening to me equals enlightenment.
awekening is when you finally realise your full powers and understand urself at last
For me it was when i started to realize the abilities that i had and started remembering my old lives before this one. It is a very confuiong time because if you are not aware of having these abilities then you can get frightened by it. Some people have dreams or visions of thing that are to come. It really depends on the particular indivigual
To me an awakening is something you can sense inside yourself. Not everyone will feel the same way or react the same way. but you can feel something different going on inside and notice changes on the outside to. But hey thats just my thoughts.
An Awakening to me is when a person finds their true self and purpose in this life. My Awakening is not something that happened in a second it is a progressing thing. I don't feel like I have fully awakened in this life, but I believe it is possible after a series of lifetimes.
awakening: is a person from founder of being vampire drinking blood nd craving for more he shall be in dear pain untill he drinks blood if not he will die, and he blood will not flow through the body, and make him die.
You've got a good point, Akashaspawn. Awakening is an ongoing process. I feel like I am always learning something new about me and yet, I know that there is more that I don't know.
I have to agree with echo on this topic. It has taken me a lot of my life to accept who and what I am, i am one of those who was a experimental lab rats for dr.s when i was a child, it was til this year the very first day of it i realized what i am and i was boen this way i didnt change in anyway just was enlighted by a dramatic change of events.
Awakening was hard for me and i'm not fully sure if i'm just imaging half of it or if its real but i mean i'm changing and this vampiric defination is the only thing that explains whats happening to me. Lights are getting worse and worse for me to withstand. Food up sets my belly more and more...i'm ALWAYS thiry no matter what i drink i want to sleep all and be awake all night and i try to be normal i really do but....it AIN'T working soo i dunno but thats what is happening to me
love dara
The Awakening is the realization of the vampiric self. It is the state where one goes from being unconsciously vampiric to being consciously vampiric. This includes several things and has many benefits.
You realize what you are doing and can learn to control it. Along with this, you are able to control your needs over time and choose who you are going to feed from. You can learn to work with your personal energy to where the need no longer drives you completely, even though it never truly goes away.
There are many, sometimes painful, symptoms that go along with this realization from unconscious to conscious. One who feeds unconsciously slowly awakens the real need over time, and as it grows, it becomes increasingly crippling til the point where one realizes that something must be amiss.
I went through phases of both discovery and denial of my nature and the need for energy I live with. I went through subtle needs and went into deeper need for energy. The Awakening, as such, can be a painful experience for it is a period of great discovery and sometimes radical experimentation (for the individual that can mean different things) that hopefully bring about understanding and balance.
Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences... And a special thanks to Jenova for being so indepth and elaborating the subject to the point of pure clarity.
To me, an awakening is when I discovered my true calling
I think everyone gave a good description on awakening...
There is a lot of examples of people who have awaken: those who became priests, those who joined an activist political group, those who became vegan, real artist who discovered they potential, becoming a good mother or a father, those who discovers their sexual orientation: straight gay sm pedo...
I think there is another form of awakening, it is when you are persuaded to already have awakened, thinking that you're something specific only to discover later that everything was false and that you are nothing more than the regular man...
it's when your consious mind become aware and to some point accepts things that were dormant or there just not noticed
Well, it can mean alots of things. Im not a Vampire so that part of me is not awakening. Ive always been special compaired to the other kids. Ive always been able to see Spirits and such and I happen to have some living with me at the moment. Ive also had alot of visions and now Ive decided Im going to persue how to use the power I possess though Im not sure how... And lucky me two forces one on the side of good and the other of evil want me.... What a colundrum XD
my awakening was when i remembered most of my past lives and was able to diffrientiate between dreams, premonitions and memories of lives spent.
Many of us here have different views on what an awakening is.
I am neither a lycan or vampire. I am something else completly different... To me an awakening is when the human host (your body) adapts to the intity within. Your body begins to adapt and change to accomadate. You change physically and spiritually but you remain who you are. Certian atributes can be notices by those who know you well and are aware that you are host to what ever intity reguardless of how many.
For me, an awakening is when you find out what you were put on earth to do... its when you realize who you were meant to be and what you were meant to be, now me still being in high school hasn't figured that part out yet^^. Anyways, it's when you stop putting on a show for other people and act like your true self, even if you don't think that other people will accept you for who you really are.
Awakenings
We are neither wholly born nor wholly made what we are. The choice for us to become was made long ago. From that time onward, we have been reborn again and again, carrying within us in every lifetime the seed of what we are.
Sometimes we forget ourselves, and wander our lives like sleepwalkers, only half-aware of our true natures. Yet sleeping or awakened, we are born with the potential for transformation.
Awakening is a process of expanded awareness. Anyone with gifts and talents of a subtle nature undergoes an awakening in their life. This is when they come into their own, finally accepting what has been latent within them since birth. For us, the process can be traumatic, as the existence we awaken to opens us up to a host of strange thoughts, sensations, and experiences which lie outside the limits accepted even by other Awakened.
Awakening is the alchemical forge in which we are transformed from dross to spiritual gold. It is the recalling of a part of our Selves that has become clouded over time. It is becoming more than the little self of this lifetime, grasping the totality of who we were and who we are to be -- our Essential Self.
Some of us have greater potential than others. Some are born with an instinctive understanding of their potential and they may gradually come to realize that potential on their own. They recall without prompting and their power is great.
The bulk of our number are born ignorant to what they are. As they grow and mature, there are subtle hints of the latent power, but fear and self-doubt generally keep these from being acknowledged and accepted. Such as these must be awakened to their true selves by another of our number already familiar to our ways.
There are two rituals of initiation. The Lesser Initiation is an exchange of feeding which occurs between the teacher and the initiate. The initiate is drained deeply, often for the first time. This heightens his awareness of his energy body and will often catalyze him into realizing his potential in the next few days. The sensations that this process inspires are usually too intense to ignore or explain away. If fed from deeply enough, his instincts will overcome him and he will feed from others in order to replenish his depleted system.
The Greater Initiation involves a ritual death and rebirth which occurs on both the physical and spiritual levels for the initiate. It is visionary and shamanic in nature and forces the initiate to face himself and all that he has been within the boundaries of his own soul. Like all deaths and rebirths, this ritual strips away old identities and assumptions. The little self of this lifetime is subsumed into the greater Self, and the initiate is irrevocably changed. This rite is reserved for only the strongest minds, for any who are weak or filled with fear may not survive the initiation. Their minds can be blown away like dry autumn leaves in the face of the totality of who they are.
Other Awakened
There are many beyond ourselves who have the potential for power. They also undergo a process like our Becoming which consists primarily of a expanded awareness and an awakening to their greater Self. This commonly occurs with the onset of puberty, although it may happen later or earlier, depending on nature and circumstance. These are commonly referred to as the Awakened. Their ways and their powers are diverse.
Like us, many of the Awakened follow a particular archetype. They use this archetype as a symbol to define themselves and their powers. They have a fundamental connection to the energy of this archetype, and although human in body, they are something more in spirit. Angels, witches, the Fey, Otherkin, Shifters, these are but a few of the archetypes that may be followed. Like ourselves, it may be that such individuals are responsible for inspiring much of the folklore that gave rise to the archetype in the first place and now, in a less spiritually open time, they have only the buried grains of truth lingering in the folklore to fall back upon to define themselves. Like us, they are human and Other. They are spiritual travelers who take up bodies as garments. We should always treat them with respect, for ultimately, we serve common goals.
You will be attracted to the Awakened in much the same manner that you are drawn to Potentials of our kind. Much is unspoken and unconscious. Trust that your greater Self is guiding you, for it knows and understands what may not always be accessible to your conscious mind.
Like ourselves, the Awakened can perceive and manipulate the many layers of reality. They call themselves by many names and they follow many diverse paths. Most of the Awakened draw their power from the positive, generative forces of reality. Thus, they may fear us when they first encounter us. This fear arises from ignorance. Though we are darkness and they are light, we all work toward the same goal. We each in our way bring awareness to the world, catalyzing those with potential toward Awakening.
When we come upon one who is verging upon Awakening, it is our duty to guide and instruct them. Do not mistake every Awakened being for a Potential of our kind. Nor should you attempt to push those not of our kind into accepting our ways and our arts. This way is not for everyone, and no one should ever be forced into following it. Be aware that some may resonate with more than one archetype, and these are the most difficult of all to identify and to educate. They may have much in common with us, but there will be limits to what we can explain and help them understand. In all cases, serve your function as a catalyst, helping them toward their path but not seeking to define that path for them. Ultimately, each person must walk their path alone.
some of The Vampire Codex by Michelle Belanger
To Awaken is to understand and to hear things that many others in the world do not hear or see.
To Awaken is to find something within, something that cannot be classified as a single entity of being or a multitude of different selves.
All in all, Awakening is something that brings you close to the heavens, just for a split second, in order to achieve some understand and another state of spiritual being, and then you are force to decend back to the world in order to carry out whatever heavenly task that has been presented before you.
This message will come to people in many forms, in many different ideas and aspects. Only you are the only to understand the true meaning of each one, and in this, you are the only one who can travel the road alone.
As I have used aspects of heaven do not mistaken this as a simple thought of a christian mind, use it to understand that you have been taken, in a sense, to hear the words of something older, deeper, stronger, and wise, then you, and you are to carry out in a manner, a goal that only you will know deep inside what it is.
This is what awakening is, it is very personal, no matter in what form it comes, it will leave you with a sense that there is something more out there.

AA mentions the concept of a spiritual awakening in their steps
Its described as a lifting of burden and guilt from a person
I think awakening can mean many things. Such has when one awakens to realize their lycan or vampiric form, traits and the likes. It can also mean, in my opinion that one would have an epiphany of some sorts. Perhaps a relazation of something important in their life they have never noticed before or known.
Awakening for me has been where I have stopped fighting the societial stigma of being a witch and relinquished to the natural essence of me. It has been so freeing. For the first time in my life I am happy with who I am.
for I it was the scariest and most full on thing I have ever been through. I could not stop the things that happened around me and as much as I wished to disbelive it was to late. was it to some vampiric state no. it was to the things I had been looking into it was like a catch in a door and then all of a sudden the doors of reality blew wide open. I could not hold my mind in this reality any long it had to travel and my god did it go far and deep. when it started was the third full moon that just passed not long ago. I wish it never happened and I dont wish it on anyone. scared the living shit out of me and to be honest if it was not for some here I would have gone totaly insane with what I saw and the things that happened around me. I still dont understand what I was awoken too but I do know that it has changed me. I find it hard to look into peoples eyes for the fear of what I will see now. I wonder do you awaken with each gate you open. it would make sence. I also wonder is a gate actualy a dimension or something else all together. so much lost and so many playing with toys I think.
after it all happened and the alarms around me died down and the traffic lights stoped doing wierd shit I cryed for a day and a night uncontrolably then slept for a whole 20 hours to wake to birds all around singing even though it was night. I wish I never tried to find the first gate and that I stuck to my old teachings of buddha. truly what is out there comes to mind. to put it in plain english terms no amount of LSD would be close the the shit I went through. now I sleep with out hassle at all my dreams are as I tell them no more funky dreams no more anything in my head but what I say. I guess
it is mastery of your self.
here is to the next gate may my soul make it back.
Do you just all of a sudden realize or how does that work?
awakening- being reborn. Its used for vampires when they have been reborn. im really unsure on what else to say upon this. you already knew about what i posted but i just had to join in.
just keep in mind awakening doesnt hold itself to just vampires!
funny thing is I think that if I put some people on the same path to open the doors of perception with parctices that predate christ that many would find them selves going through exactly the same thing. there is no astral travel now. there is only touch on multiple levels. true focus needs no mediation it needs to be awoken
I believe that an awakening is when you understand yourself. When you come to terms with the fact that you may never know yourself fully and discover new parts of yourself you never knew were there. It's when you become at peace with yourself :)
i beleive that too. i'm still going through that phase of my awakening, though
My opinion is that you realize something about your self and the life you live, wether you were totaly blind sited or you suspected it. But to me when you awaken it changes your life and your insite on the world, other people, and the life you live. To awaken I belive you change things just not realizes things in your life.
it doesnt just have to go along with vampires. you can awakeen and feel as if your life just started up. that happened to myself. i dont remember a lot of my past life when was a child growing up. when i fully awakened i was going into ninth grade or so. that is where it all started out. But you can also be in a mess and be awakened, renewed so to say.
an awakening is not just an idea that pops into your mind and you are like Ok that sounds good . It is an overall feeling like an explination of all past feelings and makes things make sense for you ...At least it did for me ...
Awakening is when you realize that you are special and allow the progression in perception to take hold.
awakening is realizing you are different and accepting it, remembering past lives, and/or getting new "powers". for me, all three
when you realize what and who you are...that is in your soul
From a very young age I always had the affinity with the supernatural, vampires, lycans etc.As i have mentioned before suppressed by my years in the church.go to my journal and look up the awakening. The true story of how mine occured. And how icame to be.
Awakening is realizing, opening, freeing your mind to closed knowledge, feelings, pictures, powers, needs that were locked away in your DNA. This is carried from our ancestors in the DNA until the right time which is called the awakening(fully) or in times of urgent need it may apear for seconds but without you realizing it. Therefore it gets locked up again. You can find clues in your dreams that may lead to your awakening..............Memories which are from ancestors are recorded in DNA. Therefore repetition of somthing done in the past may give you a flashback that could lead to an Awakening.
It to me, means that you become aware of things around you that you weren't before. You feel more complete, more fulfilled without reason.
I can tell because its when I feel myself becoming more 'spiritual' if that makes any sense.
awakening is not so much the final step on a path as the realization that there are many paths...you just couldn't see them before.
Everyones said it. To me an awakening is when you realize what your purpose in life is . And it's been right in front of you , and didn't realize it.
yes everyone seems to have the same answer...when you realize what you are ...
i think there can not be anything more added to this *smile*
