I know some of us here are psy, sang, or even both. How do you feel about the who claim to be immortal and how they make us look to the general public? And for those of you who claim to be immortal, what makes you claim to be immortal and share your experiences. This is not to demean anyone but I want to know why you feel this way about immortality and how you feel about us who are psy and sang.
Personally I do not think the body of any being can be immortal. The spirit on the other hand will live on long after the body has faded. For some maybe there is the belief that they are immortal but I don't see how that is possible unless they are talking of going from body to body as the years progress. It is a good interesting question that I would like to know more opinions about
I'd like to think that a being that was really immortal wouldn't go about advertising it.
Why wouldn't you brodcast that you were immortal? What i is the point of having something that powerful if no one knows about it? If I couldn't be stopped the world would know.
ok well how do you feel those who claim to be Immortal make us look to the mundane society? and do you feel they give off the wrong image about us who are the living Vampyres, not the Hollywood type Vampires..
Personally I think they are delusional for the most part and have gotten to involved in there role playing games and those who really believe they are immortal make the rest of us look bad cause everyone thinks we all think that way cause the media will only look at the oddballs not the real people
I can agree with you BathoryBabe.....the bodies in which we live in now are only borrowed...it is our souls and spirits that move on that makes us immortal....We always say its like we belong to another time or that we have lived the life of an old soul.....
Being Vampiric weather it be Psi or Sanguinarius does give us the ability to feel immortal in alot of ways ......mainly because of the strenghts we hold in on feeding off energy or blood ......it makes the body and mind stronger....
But it cant keep the bodies we have now alive......as i said they are only borrowed...
As for hollywood they really need to study a little more and stop making us out like we are evil freaks that kill for the sake of it.......Hell thats what murders are for....
I think the immortality claim is really putting too fine a point on it. On most mainstream television shows or documentaries(those not paranormal in nature) their "vampire" episodes tend to paint a picture of anyone claiming to be a vampire as either seriously disturbed or lost in a fantasy world of roleplay. I really don't think that claiming to be mortal or immortal makes that any better or worse. Generally the respect is not there to begin with.
To the media what is the difference between a vampire and a murder...maybe blood drinking but I agree they should look into the real deal.
Those who say they are immortal are well......either insane or deluded in my personal opinion. As said earlier if you were immortal why would you advratise it.
Think of what would happen if people knew you were, capture, torture ( and no the fund torture ) and a forever of pain and tests.
Can the idea of being immortal be a fantasy of the mind? Or a really good drug? The Rave was intended to be a resource, not have people come on here and think they are true Vampires. Thou I do believe in psy and other types of Vampires. And do I think I'm immortal..yes, to my chuildren I am..they think I can never die....so in a sence it makes me immortal.....LOL Until I die ...then the whole idea kinda runs dry...even for my kids....my sleepless rant, take it how you will.
I think it is delusional to think you are actually immortal...
I wouldn't rule out that there might be creatures that are effectively ageless and might live a long time if left alone. Thats why I said they'd not advertise it.
Too many people would come after them, want to be immortal themselves, etc. Plus, if there was one, there would have to be others, and THEY might hold a grudge.
Plus I'd like to think that I had centuries to dink around, I would probably be off travelling and trying to figure out new cultures rather than the internet.
overall though I'd have to agree that people claiming to be immortals prolly need a little help.
Ahh yes , the power of the human imagination!
Does it not make you proud ?!
I am a sang vampire and think not in terms of immortality for these are but dreams to frighten people, they make us appear to be a class above human, when in truth the relationship we have is symbiotic, without one the other would deminish.
In this mages humble opinion, the Hollywood Vampire has cast such romance over us the living vampires that on any street corner there are wanna bes, who no nothing of the loyalty or discretion it takes to live our lives.
Let alone the honour that we have for each other and our differences.
Personally, I don't think you can physically be immortal. Things on the physical plane are meant to expire at some point.
I know that I do not feel that I am immortal. My body will eventually expire and return to the dust from whence it came. But my soul, that is another story. I feel souls continue to live even after the body they in habit has died. And I know the same will happen to me
OK for those that are vampyric and live vampyricly how do you think the ones who say they are Immortal make us look or do you think they put false hope for those seeking out the awakening, making them think they will live forever?
Yeah...you pretty much said it..I agree.
False hope..But,I think it's all for controll. If one think that they are going to live forever.wouldn't YOU do anything for that?
we all live we all die,its how we go oout is the question, wheither we are sang, psy, elemental, pranic,or what have you we all die at the end
I believe we are all immortal in that we die and are born again. The body may be mortal, but our souls are not.
to the last part of Dragoness's post... no, I personally would not do anything to live forever. who would want that? hollywood has made it all glamorous and romantic. its not. think about all of the people you will meet and come to love who will die and leave you alone. think of all the heart break you'll go through. think about all the crap you'll have to go through just to keep your identity a secret. i dont think anyone can live forever. not physically. i think thats very highly improbable, not impossible (nothing's imposible).
i think that the false hope thing the Lord of Noctem Aeternus was talking about nailed it on the head. i think its just a false promise. most people are in love with the idea of immortality. its a dream that can be fed upon and later used to lure the 'willing' into something they dont trully understand.
I beleive in eternal life not immortality, the difference one can be killed, the other not, its easy, not die but killed.
So therefore the body is eternal but the soul is immortal. The body is etrenal in a way that once killed it transform inot another substance, but the soul do not change substance.
*yawn* Oh look another RPG'er...
this is what crosses my mind.
Now however the real question is what a person defines Immtalitl to be. Be it for somone to life forever, unchanged by age, or a person who posseses an eternal spirit..
OMFG you mean I am going to die someday AHHHHHHHHHH but really would you really want to be immortal?
I don't think there are any true immortal's
Well I ask this because I have met some on here who say they are Immortal and can not die...Look I am not a kid and I have my views on what we are but Immortal is not one of them, In this life I have seen things that are not the norm..But one who is ageless to me is bullshit..Tell those who seek out the Awakening that they can make them live forever Bull shit look I feel that is wrong, and we as a People should let it be known what the real deal is....and to pull the cards of those claiming that they can make this happen...Why do I feel this way?
one because they can take some weak minded person and cause them harm by making them think they can not die. two they are fucking with some ones head IE. dreams giving them false hope. three it is dicks like that, that do stupid shit and bring down lots of bullshit on us...
In My opinion,.....
I believe that it IS possible to have past lives.
There is NO evidence against this.
However... in this world, it is NOT known for a single person to outlive generations, upon generations...... of non-immortals.
When someone 'claims' to BE immortal, they seem to put down the mortals, yet we too have our own morals and beliefs.
To me, vampirism is a personal belief, just like a religion.
SOME may see it escapism and role play to excess.. some use it as a release as do, I.
I cannot tolerate blood in my stomach... I love the Sun.. AND I love the Moon.
I LOVE all things Gothic and vampy!!
I WILL die one day.. LIKE Humans DO.
If I come across a REAL immortal. I'll then, believe I am Wrong.
IF I could tolerate blood.. I am sure I would physically delve deeper....
I take my energy from people by taking their energy. And by baskin in the moonlight.. Especially at Full Moon.
'To the media what is the difference between a vampire and a murder...maybe blood drinking but I agree they should look into the real deal.
Those who say they are immortal are well......either insane or deluded in my personal opinion. As said earlier if you were immortal why would you advratise it.
Think of what would happen if people knew you were, capture, torture ( and no the fund torture ) and a forever of pain and tests.'-lathswei- i feel that he has got it right if there was (not saying there are not immortal vampires) then if they was captured they could actually be tortured until someone rescue's them wich if they are immortal it could be awhile not many vampire's are immortal and to get past weird scientists who tamper with death and life.... well many nonimortal live's of us vampire's will be taken in an attempt to retreive him/her. surely the scientist would have protector's (gaurds ect.)
only an immortal would be able save him/her and evan then the one recuing takes the risk of being captured him/herself..... ya c.... oddballs really can make our sociaty to crumble
I think that being immortal is just some peoples fantasy.
i think the worst thing about being immortal is that every century you go through and the people you meet and love.all die while you are still living.deaths hard enough to cope with.but thats gonna put a downer on ever wanting to live forever.
Perhaps the beleif of living forever is why people said being a vampire entailed a cursed life.
I believe that the body will die and deteriorate, but the soul is a powerful thing. I think it could live on either by reincarnation or other forms of energy. In a way it feels like that could be somewhat immortal. Although it's hard to believe an immortal can exists as Hollywood depicts. I'm not saying they don't exist, but that they may live differently.
I personally believe there is not a True Immoratally......Just look at it this way that this world will end one day and everything on this forsaken planet will be detroied
I've seen a lot of them in my community and most of the time they're only troublemakers or children, who have never even realized that they are causing damage towards those of us who are truly what we say we are, whenever they pretend to be what they are not.
At risk of repeating a previous post, I would say this;
Physically, no, I can't see the human body being able to sustain itself forever.
Energetically, definitely, I believe that patterns can be 'recycled' back through the reincarnation process.
Longevity is a much more plausible idea though. If a sufficiently skilled energy worker were to regulate the energy passed through their system, optimising the cellular cycle, then it isn't beyond the capability to extend the usability of the structure.
This may also lead to the impression of an immortal being, if they lived for a long time in a region where others are short-lived, with perhaps three, or even four generations of families being outlived.
But, the structure of the mind would have to be extremely adaptable and resistent to dementia, otherwise, what is the point?
lol could you see somone going to get there drivers licence and claim to be a thousand years old..
HAH!
then turn around and have to go to high school and deal with the ridicule..who would want that?
A great book (even though a Romance/ Fantasy) talked about Vampires being very sensative and immortal but still having the ability of death and to my knowledge very easily... Since they are sensative and get sensative over the years just a simple wound if not prevented from bleeding is very painfull and deadly. Even though they are extremly stronge they are not immortal and still can pass away easily as any human... Just they have experience in dealing with their flaws.
I always believed people can live long lives just not forever. I did have a thread talking about immortality and I do believe it is possible but not the exact immortality that people think. I do think a person that is immortal can die. Immortality to me does not directly mean forever though by definition it does.
Anyway I find those that claim immortality online and claim to be a lycan and vampire and so on have no knowledge in what they are talking about and in the end only look foolish.
The body can't be immortal. The soul lives on, taking a new form in a new body when the old body wears out.
Well for the record
"I'm Immortal Until I Die"
with that being said
I'm christian so I believe that god created me from dust (mostly cuz I don't want to believe I was a monkey) anyways in the bible we were created in gods image and god is immortal and if you look at Adam the original man He almost lived to be 1000 but in this day in age it's really hard to believe in immortality although I have a really strong immune system and have never been sick that doesn't mean I can't die
No one is immortal, people who say they are have nothing better to do and besides if they were they wouldn't go telling people there immortal.
First of all we are all Immortal. For Energy is eternal. So, science has found energy can not be created or destroyed. It just changes form. As in Old souls..
I don't think that anyone is actually immortal. The body is designed to keep renewing it's cells and what not, but at some time, something is triggered, and our cells start to deteriorate. There is a lot of studies that are trying to figure this out. So, physically, it is impossible. As far as psy or sang, to each their own. If I have to choose which category I would fit in, it would have to be psy.

Regarding immortality of the body.. it just is not something that is possible. I do believe in immortality of the soul, or that energy, but I do not find that to be a thing solely related to the fact that I am a vampire. As far as the people who claim to be immortal, I just have to say.. stop role playing. Being both sang and psy, as well as other things, I am perfectly aware of how mortal I am. And the people who claim that they can live forever.. either they are nuts, or have read one too many Ann Rice books. As I said, the body just can not withstand that kind of life period. And these people.. these make believe immortals, they make those of us who understand and live the lifestyle look like utter loons. Running around stating that you are an immortal being is just stupid on your part, makes us "normal" ones look bad, and makes you look like an utter idiot.
I agree, Immortality soul and spirit, but I believe the body dies and thats the end of it... As for the soul and spirit, well I believe they shall live forever.
I think those who claim to be immortal need to stop playing VTM and do some intense reading on Sangs and Kheferu (yeah, i misspelled that, exhausted at the moment), and at least make some other educated 'lies', try not to be so obvious.
We may be vampire, but we will die.
Well said my brother, I see that many here missed the point of the thread. The point was: How does the true vampyric community feel about those who claim immortality? Do they demean, help, or make the community look stupid? Do you feel they need a reality check? I want to know your thoughts and feelings on this topic! That was the main point of this thread.
I thank you, my brother..
I think it shames us all.
Sure, we may be.. more then human, but we still bleed. bullets will not bounce off our skin. we will live. We will age, and yes, we, like humanity, will die.
The unknown and Supernature does exist, but so does common sense.
I would say that I believe in immortality in the sense that I will leave most of myself behind in someone else and in that way I will live forever. But do I believe that in this form I will live forever... no frikin way!
We will die, but our souls shall live on. So in that extent, we are immortal.
I think that if there were true imortals that they would not discuss it out in the open and betray who they are.
And i think someone's been feeding you bull.
No offense meant, but i won't sugar-coat it.
immortality is not physicaly possable. all thing have there weakness. Superman who is seemingly immortal can be stoppe or even killed by enough kryptonite. Even the "immortal" Highlanders are not truely immortal because they are killed by beheading. there is no true physical immortality
no. i dont agree.... i mean, i dont believe that immortality is possible. however immortality doesnt mean that you live forever. take, for instance, the sterio-typical vamp. they are immortal but they can die if exposed to sunlight or if they are drained of blood. immortality has nothing (or at least very little) to do with weaknesses. it has to do with wheather or not a body has the capability to live forever.
I personally think that anyone walking around claiming to be an immortal or undead vampire is out of thier minds. If there are immortal/undead vampires out there, well, I doubt very highly that they would be walking around shouting it to anyone who'll listen. Privacy would be a key factor in that life I would believe.
Well said..
Finally, more are starting to achieve common sense..
immortality-
n.
1. The quality or condition of being immortal.
2. Endless life or existence.
3. Enduring fame.
as stated by the immortality is ENDLESS life that is the natural definition. which is precieved by most.
Endlessly, we die and are reborn, changed yet unchanging throughout the ages. We move from lifetime to lifetime, taking up bodies as garments.
We are watchers and we are wanderers.
We seek knowledge and understanding above all.
I think this portrays us alot better then the hype of hollywood..........yes anyone can claim imortality but it only lies within our souls and minds.............those who say other wise.......are only making the hypes of hollywood stand out more.....
Thus making it harder for real vampiric people to accept who they are and what they are.......
LNA: your pen never dries - it can be so enlightening at times..
i've faced my own mortality on more than one occasion, sure that this was the end, only to return, to sit in a dark, quiet place until the shaking stops.
i have no illusions that i am not immortal, and i no longer live and act as though i was bulletproof (unless i've had too much tequilla)
i personally despise those among the ranks of psy and sang who claim to be immortal or claim to have special "powers" because their liars. i've seen one of the most talented psy vamps ive known die of old age and another with a bullet so i know they are neither immortal or invulnerable. along with no "powers" they give us normal vamps a very bad rep
I am sorry for your loss B.R, that is what this thread is about the feelings of others on how those who claim to be Immortal.
I agree. Anyone who claims to be immortal is fairly untolerable in my opinion. The human body simply isn't capable of lasting that long. It's called decay, it happens to everything. Not even the mountains will last forever.
To be immortal what a dream, lol, well for the first thing to be immortal you are dead to living things. but walk with the living and its very boring and ugly to watch everything die around you. there are some things I believe to be not understood. and this is one of them.
Now we are getting on topic lets see what others feel about those who claim this
I really wish there were true immortals among us, if there were, they would walk in the shadows. Being very picking with whom they revealved themselves too. I would like to think there would be a chance to encounter all i adore and respect one day. As far as the crazy posers going out on a limb. they make life hard for us, living a vampiric lifestyle today. We are trapped in human flaws, but are old souls, unique in our own way.
Well I never really care because It slightly doesn't make any sense. I strongly think that there aren't any 200 year old vampires walking around. However there is the belief of reincarnation. BUT when you look at it. Reincarnation is not JUST for vampires so nothing special here and no need for the whole 'immortal' title
I believe that the comcept of being imortal is diffrent the actuall being imortal. true vampires have human vessels but there souls are immortal. and they move on from one body to another when there human vessel dies.
I agree Wildsorkid, it is not our physical bodies that renew themselves, that it Hollywood. Not that I'm not a fan of course, but I believe our "bloodline" is much more metaphysical. Pasted down to us from others that came before.
I agree as well.
I do not feel I am immortal physically, but i too feel as though my soul is and has traveled through the past times in different physical forms. I do believe I have been as I am in past lives, u know never changing no matter what the times or ppl. I say that I have been here along time in the sense of witnessing my past lives in visions and dreams. I never spoke of being physically immortal because it doens't make sense to me to claim to be. But to each its own lol.
very well said about our souls...for they live on through time so they presume to be immortal where as our bodies pass on.
Our souls are immortal, but I don't believe our bodies are. So hopefully my next life I'll continue to be a vampire.
ok but How do you as being part of the true vampyric community feel about those who claim immortality? Do they demean, help, or make the community look stupid? Do you feel they need a reality check? I want to know your thoughts and feelings on this topic! That was the main point of this thread.
I feel they could be helped by a good round of therapy if they really believe it.
I dunno if it makes the overall community look bad, but I can't see it in a positive light myself.
scientists who are researching the aging process claim that immortality - or at least extreme longevity - is scientifically possible. or at least in theory - they haven't quite cracked it yet. all things die and decay - true, but in that respect, none of us are more than 12 years old. our cells die, and we replace them with new ones. there is a self destruct system built into our DNA - but if that could be switched off, we would just keep renewing our cells and never age.
it is theoretically possible that some natural mutation in some genes could occasionally create humans who suddenly stop aging once they hit puberty. it is theoretically possible - i'm not saying it definitely has happened.
as for whether one would want this to happen or not, well i think it's rather like being very wealthy, or famous. we all convince ourselves it must be hell, because it's out of our reach.
If I could live in a healthy state, I wouldn't mind living a very long time.
However, I'd want to eventually die simply because of my belief system, which encompasses the more spiritual aspects of ourselves need to shed the ego in order to do their job.
When I do hear of someone claiming to be immortal and the Bram Stoker vampire; it really saddens me.As the general public still think us silly and ridculous and this only adds fuel to the fire, so to speak.
I believe our souls to be immortal however.
I am immortal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok well not really but it was a fleeting imortality and now i've transformed back into a human vampire :)
LOL well I for one do not believe in immortality. I feel all things are born they live and yes they die. Now I do believe in the spirit world and can even wrap my mind around reincarnation.
it would b kool but not true i no a kid whos a dicrase to all us think hes immortal conseved from vladimire himself when he comes from asia..lol
Personaly - I dont believe in "immortal" beings whose bodies never die. (Im not talking about the spirit).
I also think.. and Im not being sarcastic.. individuals who claim to be a few hundreds year old (in the same body).. are either full of shit or screaming for attention - or both. Maybe their being "funny"?
How do I think they make us look? I think they make us look like crackpots, loonies.. etc. Would that I could crawl through my monitor sometimes.
Thats my view.
I think that no one can be immortal. I do believe that some may have longer lives, but not immortal. People who say that make our type look bad.
immortality is mostly a myth. I have been reading however, on ancient poisions and antiodotes that grants one life forever.
Well to me immortality means you just don't die. Not by anything. Anything else would mean to me you have sustained life but can die by the usual means other than disease or old age.
Scientists say that they are a few steps away from this. They only have to figure out everything to do with rejuvating and stopping the process of cell degeneration. Read an article about it some time ago. Also the Russians are doing a lot of experiementation.
We, the folks I hang with run across people saying this but most are talking about life to life immortality of the soul. The few that arent...quite frankly we call role players.
well me being a person that does not believe in souls or anything like that, i believe that immortality is impossible in any way.i do have an idea on how to make the human body immortal but i dont want to post that on a forum that it does not relate to entirely if anyone would like to hear it they should message me. but anyways, i believe that the mear "turning of a vampire" cannot turn a person immortal. living forever is just illogical if not approached scientifically.
Put it like this...if there was immortal person, vampire or whatever in the world are they seriiously going to let us know?
I'm very fond of the responses by STABB666, he has very great replys here...I encourage everyone to read them; I'm not trying to be rude at all here...but, he seems to have summed it all up for me at least.
That is why he is in Eternal ;) (bit of friendly competition here lol)
