Do you think vampires are fallen angels doom to roam the human realm for eternity and why?
well not realy heard that therory before but bears thinking about
I agree it does have some sound example to back it up though. I believe the first vampire to be the angel of death myself. He fed on deathas an angel so god made him feed on blood the escense of life as a vampire. the ultimate puishment. Also by feeding turning others so where ever he looked he would be reminded of what he was.
Archangel,
so god made him feed on blood the escense of life as a vampire. the ultimate puishment.
that's interesting, I haven't come across that before - where did that one come from please?
I thought that 'Death' (as the person/angel) was a guide to take your soul to the 'other side' not some sort of hitman
There are many, many, many theories about the start of the mythical vampire. To tell the truth, I don't care about any of them.
But then, angels are such a Christian concept and I'm not a Christian so this one wouldn't fly with me.
Of course anything could be a pliable possibility but in my opinion there not fallen angels but rather unique creatures. This is only my opinion maybe I'm wrong.
Angels are not just a Christian concept. They are in other religions like Muslim and Gnostic. Depends on which fall you speak of and depends on definition of fallen angel. Angel means messenger. We don't know if they were celestial messengers. This is a common theory among the Vampyre Community among a long list of others that have not been proven either. I wrote to Andrew Collins as he writes books on religious history I guess you could call it and asked him if in all his research had he ran across anything to do with vampyres. He said Yes...the Watchers are the start of the Vampyre race. This is his view and haven't gotten his books yet. I have to order them as they are not carried in the stores here for some reason but special order since he is from UK (Im in US).
Theories are : Lilith, Caine, Starseeds, Annunaki messenger link, fallen angels, symbionts, V-5 virus, some still think Vlad although he was not a Vampyre. There are a couple of alien ones besides Annunaki and Starseeds...just can't think of them. There is a long list. Much of folklore is based on much older traditions that have been handed down. For instance titles of deities such as Ishtar are now attributed in Catholicism to the Virgin Mary. Lucifer is an urban legend as there is no such being in the Old or New Testament yet it is taught from a misconceived verse in Isaiah which the Jews clearly state does not mean what is being said. Has to do with a translator that changed a word into Latin and that was Lucifer which is ancient name for planet Venus. He comes from Roman folklore. He was the Light bearer created by the Goddess Diana...look it up. Some even think vampyres are some offshoot from this being. Those that are Satanists. Also there are high numbers of vamps who are Christian if you didn't know and then like me...eh...I don't claim anything to do with organized religion.
No for vampire are not imortal. but I do think we are fallen angels.
stories tv and bible...
I agree with Chris420
we r unique..
I wouldnt say that vampires are fallen angels, to me that just doesn't make sense, though i am here to learn and read others opinions.
To me a vampire would be from a normal person who has evolved with time.
who knows?
time and existence is always evolving.
i agreee with fetish25 homans are always evolving. Anyways angels are followers and vampires are free. I would rather be free to roam the earth insted of follow someone in heaven
well i think that in ways we may be a fallen angel of sorts. but not in the ways of any main stream reliegion but in the ways of some thing else. but that is just my option.
There have been theories that vampires stemed from Cain, the slayer of his brother...
But also there has been theories that vampires are created from the children of angels (fallen or otherwise) and mortals. That the extreme will of the angel and the easyly tempted human flesh meld to make a demon.
Yes some have demon theories but theologically as far as Judeo/Christianity demons are the disembodied children of the Watchers that descended and mated with the daughters of man. Later called fallen angels but there was more than one descent and in other non cannonical writings they mention offpring (Titans) that were there after the flood.
Anyway I posted again. What Angel of death is being spoken about here?
In Muslim and Islam theology, Azrael is the angel of death who is “forever writing in a large book and forever erasing what he writes: what he writes is the birth of man, what he erases is the name of the man at death.”
In Judeo-christian lore, Michael, Gabriel, Sammael, and Sariel are all named as the angel of death.
In Zoroastrianism, the angel of death is Mairya.
In Babylon, it is Mot.
In Rabbinical lore, there are 14 Angels of Death: Yetzerhara, Adriel, Yehudiam, Abaddon, Sammael, Azrael, Metatron, Gabriel, Mashhit, Hemah, Malach ha-mavet, Kafziel, Kesef, and Leviathan.
In Falasha lore, it is Suriel.
The Arabic angel is Azrael.
Do which one are you meaning?
I think that vamps are fallen angels but I also believe that we are unique
i believe that vampires are fallen angels, we just don't know it
This intreges me I am going to talk to my professor about this theroy and see what he saids.
Just like there are many forms of the vampire I think there can be many diffrent was of becoming one. So it is posible.
its seems that some vamps are but i think that angels and vamps are 2 different things
I have never before considered a vampire to be a fallen angel, but now I am made to wonder.....
I don't think vampyres are fallen angels but if one goes by the bible then fallen angels are what we now know as demons those who went against god and were cast out of heaven with satan. Vampyres are a species all their own. If you want to go back to the time of Eden then vampyres are decendent of Lilith the mother of Cain.
i honestly dont know i think we are what we are there are us that are good life forces and there are those who are looking to be bad , i dont think we are fallen angles because the only heaven iv seen is in my marrieage
Fallen angels doesn't seem like a good theory. Angels means to me at least that at one time, you were favored by the lord.
Technically Satan is a fallen angel...
*shrugs*
This is just one of many many theories...
Vamprisim isn't supposed to be a blessing from Hell, but a curse from Heaven...According to this particular theory, Vampirism consists of four parts each from the different branches of Heaven. This is the one I found most interesting our of the four;
"Third, the curse of Uriel, Archangel of Death: Thou and thine children shall live forever and ever, drinking only blood and eating only ashes (knowing only sadness)."
It's supposed to be given when someone falls out of Heavens favour, it's given as a test to some to prove to Heaven their "Heavenly virtues" I dont understand how giving them that kind of curse could possibly prove that...The ones that dont pass the "test" & be rid of the curse are the ones that are supposed to "live forever in a pathetic state of self pity"
Personally I dont believe that, it obviously depends on you're faith
I have read many articles on the subject, and of course nobody will ever really know. Some believe that since Satan was an angel and cast out of heaven. And some associate vampires with the devil and demons, that we must be fallen angels.
Which I think it quite a stretch in believing that.
But I do not consider myself as such.Fallen from grace pehaps, but not angel status*grins*
I've always thought that whatever one believes is what will be, for instance if you believe in heaven and hell then you will end up there in your eternal sleep. It's all in ones perception I tell you, the mind is a funny thing, the mind works in mysterious ways.
Dark Greeting's,
Interesting theory and quite possible as one mode of thought.Me personally I believe Vampires came from the stars, because many of the being's mentioned earlier are said to have come from the stars,I feel Gods walked the earth once, but they were just other creatures from another planet.A bit off topic, but I believe everyones answer bears merit.
Dark Blessing's,
KA
Well theological angels were given free will but most of the stories about the falls are not Judeo/Christian but in Gnostic writings and not considered canon. All anyone can do on this topic is voice opinion. The answer is no one knows. There is no evidence for any origin. Perhaps it is many and that accounts for feeding preferences. Who really knows. I am sixty years old and I don't know and I have studied but what you have to understand is one can say they don't believe this or that because it is religious based but all life, activities and government in ancient times was based in their religious views. There wasn't a separation of things. We really don't know how much information there might have been on this since the Library at Alexandria was burned down. All one can do on this topic is debate because unless someone has an epiphany and can come up with writings or documents or there is some sort of comparative genetic testing. I don't think anyone will know. We also don't know what is being referred to when the word Angel is used. Any messenger was called Angel in the long past. Its a futile attempt to try to sort it all out and why there are so many sects within the vampyre community. The idea of the fallen angel theory is only one of many.
I believe some Vampires can be fallen angels .What is a fallen angel a demon...
I can't recall ever hearing of a fallen angel turning into a vampire. I do seem to recall hearing of one or two that fell out of grace and became something more akin to a demon. I'll have to do some research now that you've sparked my interest...
vampires are not necessarily fallen angels but rather distant cousins of angels, watered down Nephilem if you will.
There is a lot of indirect evidence and some direct that Vampires are fallen angles. Personaly I dont think this is true. I believe that Vampires are a more advanced adaptation of human
I too now think that vampires are a step forward from humans....and evolution per say
I don't know if they would be fallen angels but I don't think we are doomed to walk the earth. The principle behind all that is tat vamps are satan worshipers and that they follow dark beliefs. I don't think this is true but more of a mark given by society.... I don't know if this will help your thoughts but i wanted to give you something else to consider.
My personal belief is that Vampires are not fallen angels but rather a creature all its own, evolved and developed from the beginning of time. How they were created and evolved I have not yet understood even though i have read many theories. But as for fallen angels no for me thats a christian concept and the christian religion is relatively young. Where as many more older and ancient religions mention vampires that have nothing to do with angels.
well i belive that vampires are condemed souls that have been danmed to walk the earth for eternity... i think its a curse to be imortal... people wish they can be immortal cuz they mortals but if they become immortal i think they would find it to be a curse...
for me they are nor a fallen angel or a evlotion in the human kind, they are not even of this world nor are the other darkness creatures on this earth
I wouldn't call them a fallen angel.
Vampires are completely different.
Sort of like a whole other species.
no. Fallen angels are a different secies and reside in hell. now their children, however, are here, but still, not vampires.
No I don't agree with that theory. I believe that fallen angels are sent to either hell or pergatory to spend eternity for something extreme in God's eyes, that he banishes them.
The fallen angels are the Watchers or Gregori..there is no specific reference in the New Testament...only references in the Old Testatment which is Judaism really. The rest is in the Book of Enoch and associated books. (Gnostic)
A fallen angel is the original fallen to earth...descended and doomed to the cycle of rebirth...their offspring are the Nephilim which were supposedly drowned in the flood and their spirits became what we now call Demon. This is the folklore. This is all speculative and much of what each group will say is based on biases of that culture. Shrugs.
You will not be able to speak on this topic without bringing in some sort of religious writings because everything came out of that...its the folklore of old. If you don't know this you probably don't know the Annunaki theories and fallen angels.
There are some who do occult/metaphysical/religious research. I have written to one that has nothing to do with the Vampyre Community and asked him in his research if he ever ran across any reference to the Vampire and he said yes...his answer was the Watchers and went on to describe them.
The Merovingian Gnostic Church which is connected to the American Rite and Knights Templar have a whole folkloric history on the beginnings of what they term the Vampyre Race. I am into studying all these things and yes there may be evolvement but I won't say my belief here because I consider it private but some of what is being espoused is from a certain viewpoint and would make it hard to explain anything when some is urban legend and simply that. We are not allowed to go into all that here.
This isn't exactly a site for that but more social.
I've heard that theory, but I don't believe it. vampires are a completely different entity than an angel. I don't really believe in angels for that matter.
I've heard of the two main theories here: That vampires are fallen angles, and that they are more advanced humans. Personally, I believe the the latter theory. I think that vampires are the counterparts of humans. Both sides secretly want to be the other. Humans want the immortality, but don't lke the fact of living in eternal night. Vampires want to live in the light of the sun, but would not want to be mortal.
Welll..there are alot of theories that prove that statement, but there are alot of things we need to consider. 1. Evolution.2. where the theories came from 3. stories (or what not) and history.
I found a VERY old, perhaps ancient book at this store in downtown Buffalo, NY. There was a chapter which told about the true origin of Vampires. It said that Vampires were originally a race of demonic abstracts from Hell which were banished by the Devil after they attempted to take over. The only way they could exist in our realm was to merge with newly dead human bodies and they did so till they became something new - the Vampires we know today. The picture I saw in the book depicted them as charred skeletons with bony wings rather than arms. There was a part which theorized that Vlad Tepes/Dracula may have been one of the first humans to have been… vamped after his death in 1476.
im not sure on this one, it is an interesting theori but then of late vampires have sort of turned into this gothinc consept, maybe in the early years? in bram stoker thats what happens...
i wouldnt think so most vamps i know dont really care one way or the other so i really couldnt tall you from them i have only meet one vamp that i thought could be a true vampire and we really dont talk much
I do know that demons are definitly fallen angels from heaven. It may be possible that demons and vampire alike are related. Since they are both concidered as the Angels of Darkness. And both species do detest both light and God's powers. You got to admit that the facts do bring a good arguement.
Yes i do think Vampiers are Fallen angels im not sure about the roaming thing but...
My reason for this belief is:
Its More then likely U turn Evil after ENDURING suffering and BULLSHIT right
so if u were Catholics u would turn Satanic
so if u were a fallen angel you would turn to vampirism its a evolve u know...
I was taught that a vampire was a being whose soul was born by the dark runes, not meaning to argue just saying what I was taught. I personally believe there are many origins for vampires and many types of vampires.
I think yes, but then again you have the adam and eve theory that would go against it all in the end. So, I think yes, but scholars think no... Hope that helped...
Blessed Be
Lady Titan
I'm not a religious kind of guy, so I don't believe we are fallen angels.
I believe ladynightdancer summed it up in her response for those who have read the book of nod and the lost scrolls of the bible do indeed believe that the vampyres were a mortals cursed by god for actions against his code of life.
I'm confused, was there a Book of Nod that came out before White Wolf's version? Has there since been a Book of Nod that was intended as truth and not RPG in historical record?
that thought does have some merit to it... but if you look into history Vlad was never and angel and if you believe vamps came from Kain neither was he
STABB666: And from those Judaic teachings we then must look beyond to the Sumarians, Egyptians and the several other societies that existed before Moses was even a thought. If there is a single point of origin one must look beyond the current era of humanity i.g more than 5,000BC/CE
im sorry to say but vampires are not fallen angels they are creatures of the night know one realy knows were we came from there are storys and tales and lies. but to be honest we dont know how we became about. but we know one thing we are not fallen angels!
I think angels are in the same boat as angels when it comes to if they really exist is a widely debated topic.
Lol Felix you caught me drinking!!!
What I meant was that angels and vampires both lack hard scientific proof that either exist.
OK. Somebody help me out here. I vaguely remember reading once that Lillith was banished from the garden of Eden she was cursed to eternity & prayed upon the blood of Eve's children since she basically took her place since Lillith refused to be subservient to Adam...
And in Babylonian times aren't there ancient medallians used to ward off the succubi Sansubi and (S--- something else - I am sure I am NOT spelling this right) who were basically the night demon spawn of Lillith and human mates that came and sucked the life of babes?
On that premise... we couldn't be fallen angels since Lillith was never an angel.
well it is a thought i have mulled around for a short while but i do not think that vampires are fallen angels for they/we are but damned forgotten souls punished by the "god/gods" to stay upon the earth for all eternity
I used to think Vampires were Fallen Angels. And I still believe so. If not, what are they?
That would require too much speculation. We have heard tons of stories that will counter the other to come up with a conclusive idea on this. But to make things better we would just need to accept the other ideals.
intresting theroy but with no concrete evidence. i am a vampire but no angel fallen or otherwise. and although i have been a vampire my whole life life meaning past lifes as well.
no i think taht a fallen angel and a vamp are to different things
never thought about it that way, but it does make u think about
It does make you think; and it is an interesting theory. But I agree with NCBandit.. There is nothing I know of either that backs up that statement whatsoever.
hmm I also haven't heard that theory yet but seems like something to look into
vamps are Lost Souls we are the dammned and i'm fine with it. so yeah fallen angel most likely.
Perhaps this thought was affiliated by the Nefilim race of Giants mentioned in Greek and Jewish lore...who came down and had relations with human women? I highly doubt that. Vampires are merely a lored race of undead immortals, who were former mortals, that feed from mortals to survive. In reality context, you have alleged psychic energy vampires, or just humans who take on that persona and have blood fettishes. lol
FlawlessForce: Thanks for bringing a reality check in.
As for the Nefilim, there is no and I mean no proof that Vampires came from them. To often Vampire believers or those who claim to be a Vampire use these stories as a means of explination, however, if you want to know the true origins you must look further back than the Jewish tradition.
The history of vampires varies in different parts of the world. Some cultures believe that vampires are fallen angels, some believe that vampires were first created by improper burial methods, some say that vampires originated with Lilith. I have a book in my car that goes into detail about the origins of vampires in about 20 different countries.
I believe they are not. I think they are just misunderstood
I don't directly believe that but I did create a story were they were half demon/ half human. The idea of a vampire being a fallen angel to me is wrong. Fallen Angels are demons and vice versa. They are still directly angels just darker or choice to fall. But my opinions mesh heavily with my story which I try to keep separate cause my story doesn't reflect everything I believe in.
If they are, then they were probably lesser angels. Type of foot soldiers. Some will have gotten more powerful over time. But who knows exactly?
I don't think vampires are vallen angels, but unique beings themselves. Given my views, I feel that the only fallen angels are Lucifer and his followers. Vampires were created as they are, in their glorious state, not a former glory of something else. They are not mutations or evolutions, but a separate entity altogether.
In the world of the Occult, the Fallen Ones are the counterparts to the heavenly stars that watch the Earth. 72 Angels appointed guardians and 72 Fallen which are listed in the Goetia as Solomon's Greater and Lesser Key.
I don't think they are vampires.
Don't believe this in any way what so ever. Angels don't fall from Grace. That's BS.
It is my personal opinion that Vampires are a race unto themselves, not affiliated with angels.
So vampires could be seen as a subspecies of the human race? Or demons already in existence during the fall of Lucifer and his followers?
I think angels whether fallen or not are celestial beings where vampires are another species of creature here on earth they are two different things
They are being punished for being superior and different. The ones who banished vampires here were afraid that they would become the dominant species, so they sentenced them to an eternal life of misery.
Where did you get your info from I have never heard of vampires being punished like that I know that fallen angels were cast out and in the bible it says that they are unable to take human form again so they would not be able to mate with women again.
well Vampyres do not have an eternal life and if we are so superior and would become the dominant race then sending vamps here would not make sense cause it would be to easy to become the master race here with just humans to stand in the way I think Vampyres are just as interested in being excepted and fit in as any other creature
