I recieved this email from my husband today, so my apologies for the lack of author.

So please read the following and tell me this... Do you believe this article to be fact or fiction, and what are you thoughts on fairies? Have you experienced fairies and how?

I do. I use a tarot deck that has to do with listening to fearies.

there are so many unexplained things in this world.. that it could be possible...

with everything else thay has been discovered,why not believe,especially the typo fey that seem to love my keyboard

With the pilice evidence piece on the picture too... is that for 'enforcement' of the evidence?

and they're bigge than i ever imagined they would be!

When i was a kid.. I had a really strange experience in that i was 'levitated' thru my ceiling ni to the loft and thru to the roof.. I can recall the detailof the roof in GREAT detail. and I astonshed my mother with my recollection! I was 3 years old!
NOw, i THOUGHT that fairies had lifted me up.. I felt myself going thru the layer of the ceiling and thr the roof.. and then coming back down...

Most likely this is a hoax. Too much of the fairy appears to be of artists matieral.

However do I believe in Fairies? Yes I do. I view them as the spirit within all of us to over play and be joyous. I think they live in nature through other animals. So to me it's more a spirit of being than an actual creature.

i like to think that it could be true, it just shows that anything is possible.

I must agree with Liebe I fear this will turn out to be a hoax but it would be amazing if it did turn out to be real.

There was a movie made from a book about two children that had supposedly taken a picture of a fairy. Supposedly based on a true story...from Europe I think (cant remember the place).
Anyway.....I do believe it is possible. Fairy have been in myth for as long as dragons. So why not?

from the hoax veiw point yes it can look like a bat but from the eyes of a believer they it is real bats do not have fully formed hands and feet with hair on there head like person.

When I was a child I used to see what I thought where fairies. But not anymore. :( But I still believe in them.

playing devils advocate for a second,we all know the wonderful things that effects houses can come up with,remember the footage of the "alien autopsy" from a few years ago,anything is possible and it usually is or something to that effect

I definately believe in fairies. I'm just not sure about underwear gnomes.

The movie is called " A fairytale story" It IS based on a true story and it was HUGE here in UK in the early 1900's..

Even Houdini had a part in the fame of the girls!
He is also in the movie!
It is a lovely film.. little girls would LOVE TI and I love it.

id have to say that to me this article is faked..it just does not seem reality..maybe I am wrong

As a child and up into my young adult years I believed in fae folk but time and the loss of "heart" turned me cold to the thought of anything as mystical as fae folk being real.I truly hope his is no hoax so that perhaps I may believe faithfully again in the things I held dear to my heart.

wish I could find one .... hopefully alive and would care very well for it...never know.

Yes I do believe in fairies.

I believe the Faerie are real. They have been in myths as long as dragons and Atlantis, which are real too.

I have faeries all over the place...The house is overrun with those mischeivous creatures. Oh and I happen to know some people that are definately fae incarnate ;)

I believe the existance of fairies, We have not even discovered all the life on this planet, new things are showing up every year.

Yes, I do believe in faery folk, otherkin. I have yet to experience seeing them, but I believe they have influenced my pagan journey. It's fine with me if they stay behind the scenes.

That is so strange. I dont know if I believe in fairies. I believe in alot of things since there is no way we are the only ones that exsist. But...ya I dunno..the wings almost look like leafs(not saying its fake..just an observation)

Although if anyone has seen the English movie Fairy Tale, its based on a true story but it never really hit off, I just think someone has a nice imagination...

That particular story appears to be a hoax, however i do believe in faries. ^_^ I know that faire cirlces pop up in random places around my house over night and I have experinced mischeif in the garden:)

Fairies are like Aliens, they don't like to be seen ;) So many folklore stories about them in Ireland where they orginated as the "the little people" :)

i do believe in them and alot of other things as well, such as ghosts and demons...etc. I believe that there are alot of things we have no knowledge of out there just waitng for someone to discover them...

I have to agree with Mieta1, I think it's a hoax and people will do anything for some kind of rise out of people.

I dont believes in fairies. even when I think they are adorable, they do not exists. As dragons (and Im not talking about Komodo dragon) As ancient mithology. Thats why they are myths.

May be I do believe in sort kind of "presence"... like a ghost or something, But I think it has to do with our own energy, a visualisation of energy.

Do I believe in fairies? Yes. Do I believe this is real? I hope so.

Special effects are so realistic these days...kudos to whom ever came up with those...having seen skeletal remains of a human WITH hair attachment I can say that the hair here looks too new...it's not as decomposed as the rest of the piece...and no...I don't believe that fairies actually exist...

This model was actually sold on eBay for £280.00 and the auction says that it is not real fairy remands.

i'm thinking it's a hoax - but i'm not entirely closed minded on this. faeries are usually thought of as being spiritual beings - the celts believed faeries to be spirits of the dead. but we are constantly finding new creatures - sometime quite large creatures. it is not entirely impossible that a species could exist that fits the description of faeries. a small creature of some intelligence (even if no more than that of a mouse), with the ability to hide or disguise itself could possibly evade detection, particularly if it is rare.

highly unlikely though, and given the technology of today, a hoax does seem the most likely answer.

I think the various posts here have proved beyond all doubt that the fairy featured in the eMail was a hoax started by UK artist and magician, Dan Baines.

On the general question of belief in fairies, personally, all I can think of is ... why not? I believe in ghosts, why not fairies ?

btw - the place where the two girls allegedly photographed faeries is a town in North England called Cottingley. the story was investigated by Arthur Conan Doyle - the creator of Sherlock Holmes and the Lost world. until then he had a reputation for a sharp analytical mind, but this incident was instrumental in destroying his credibility. his motivation for trying to convince the world that faeries are real was to defend and vindicate his father. Altimont conan Doyle was an artist, but Arthur's mother had her husband commited because he was convinced he saw faeries.

I believe that this is probably a hoax. But that does not mean I do not believe. There are so many things that are left unexplained, but it doesn't necessarily mean they don't exist. So, yes, I believe fairies may or did exist.

I do believe in fairies. I have a vegetable garden and a magical garden. I place shiny objects and water and sometimes food in the gardens for the fairies. I have seen small twinkles, in the daylight, in my former garden and believed them to be the fairies.

I have to say that this piece of information does not seem like a hoax to me.

I myself have met a faerie and this resembles what i saw in an almost spooky way.

I have read the other posts and have to say that it may well look like craft materials, but remember we do not know how long this beautiful creature has been in it's grave.

I for one would like to find out if there is any more evidence available to support this, maybe the actual xrays (which would show the ever so small bones that would adorn the wings) aswell as maybe some other supprting evidence. I also would be interested in viewing the site where this was found.

Yup menerfecious, the first link posted had the magician admitting to faking it, then it was sold on eBay and featured on the BBC

Maybe it looked so much like what you have seen, because that magician had the same experience as you to model it on

An elaborate hoax. Someone mentioned the alien autopsy which is funny. That's the first thing I thought of when I looked at that article. Too bad though. I'd love to believe.

After reading this article, and seeing the remains, I clearly need to rethink this whole idea. I never thought Fairies were any thing but mythological creatures. This is definitely making me think twice. They keep discovering new species, why not Fairies?

I dont know what I think....Like I said about other species...If no remains of them have been found, they stay on my "inbetween" list until a later date when hopefully something is found...

I believe if something was real, they'd always leave evidence of themselves behind, no matter how small....

I don't really know if I do or not. I would like to but there is so little evidence to support their existance.

I do believe in fairies and I didn't need this to try to prove it to myself.

LOL well I had my suspicions that it was a hoax, but it is great to see so many people that believe in fairies regardless of this apparent hoax.

I have had personal experiences with fairies myself and I do believe in them whole heartedly, like we can't see the gods daily so why not the existance of fairies.

However like someone said, wouldn't it be nice if it was real just for once!

first those pictures are amazing. second this universe is so old and so big, how can one say there is or isn't not. look at the world we live in. we are such a diverse world.

yes I have always belived in fairies and I have alwaysed wished that I could met one and have a very awsome conversation and learn about their wold but now they might be going extinct I wish that we could all except them and the old ways once more so this creatures will come out of hideing and share their world with us once more like they used to but now all we find of them is the remants of dead fairies and we can only imagein what their world was like to me it would have been a world worth shareing and learning about but now we my never know what it was like to be a fairy

I'm very skeptical of this. For all we know, it could be an artifact hoax, similar to the "1rst century" ossary found a couple of years ago that allegedly was the box of Jesus's bones. I'd actually have to see it, and tangibly feel it for myself...it just seems a little too good to be true...representing almost the exact depiction in what we see in movies and fairy tales. Until then, I still believe that fairies reside in imagination and inspiration.

i believe in pixies as they have fought the fairies in the corn war where I come from Plymouth Devon next to saltash Cornwall.

I do believe in Fairies! When I was younger my parents told me they didn't exsist and it sort of crushed me. But I learned to ignore them. This article is amazing.

Sounds and looks like the perfect April 1st type of news article. They did an excellent job on the body, maybe a small mummified monkey with leaves attached as wings. The leaves do look a bit fiber like, very nice job to who ever made it.

There have been many many supposed aliens, faieries, mermaids that have ultimately turned out to be hoaxes. Just because there is a picture of a dead one, does equate to it being real.

IDK... I have to say.. ive always beleived in fairys.. Ive had many experiences with them in which theyve "barrowed" so of my stuff.. like my sewing needles and hairclips... only to be found in the exact same spot it was last seen like week later (after i had checked that spot manytimes...) but this.. this seems very fake.. I mean like some else said before me.. the "wings" look like leaves... body its self looks like a well made piece of art.. way to good to be true.. and if u hover over the photos.. there all from a photobucket account.. now, if this was an article from a newspaper, wouldnt it have a link or a name or something from the news paper site?? I would really love this to be true.. But i really dont think soo..

yea i would have to say hoax also, anything is truely possible but i think if this was real it would have made international headlines in the news and would have been studied by a major museum. i mean even when they find a new mummy in egypt it makes national headlines

i've believed in fairies for a great majority of my life but now theres actually some form of proof of their exisitance. how awesome.

kinda like how aliens that we thing are from different worlds or outer space. But they probably live here with us but in a different dimensions, they broke through though... You all should read up on it
