Which is easier to eccept about vampires. Fact or fiction, Myself I always have been a person to lean towards the facts but there is always a fictional note to a story so lets see what we know.
i'm more of a person for facts but some fiction isn't a bad thing stories are always fun to hear just so u can prove them wrong LOL
fiction is nice to some people because the rules can be bent...I won't list all of the ways they are, since some people here would be quite offended.
Fantasy worlds are wonderful and glamorous but really...I prefer to see the world for what it really is, at least to my frail human eyes.
This earth has enough magic and wonder for me, to last a lifetime.
I want the fact. Fiction is fine for entertainment but when I am serious about studying something, I want fact.
Unfortunately we cannot help but be influenced by the fiction.
Fact is always the best way to go, but without the fiction its a tad boring so i say go with fact leave room for a little fiction...
It may but what is a spin off of fact is not in itself, fact...
That would be like picking an apple from a tree and saying the apple is a tree.
I enjoy knowing facts but hearing stories and then telling the person what really happened lol
I myself like to research both fact and fiction and see how they differ.
I do that with a lot of things
FACTS ARE EASIER TO BELIEVE BECAUSE IT IS TRUE AND UNQUESTIONABLE. AND OF COURSE, FICTIONS LIKE THOSE IN BOOKS AND MOVIES ARE ALWAYS ROMANTICIZED AND HARDER TO BELIEVE. LIKE VAMPIRES TURNING INTO BATS. I THNK NO CREATURE CAN HAVE TWO DIFFERENT BODIES IN ONE LIFEYIME.
WE SHOULD KNOW HOW TO SEPERATE FACTS FROM FICTION, = )
I'm leaning towards fiction, with a small facts factor in it.
Just like most legends have a tiny piece of fact to them.
But like most legends things do get to be blown up, as is the case with vampires I think.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but vampires are fiction. Granted these fantastic stories have evolved into a nice little subgenre of literature with some wonderful work, vampires are still found in the fiction section. Folklore, myth, and legend, are just that. Sure there maybe a grain of salt to them, but the living dead preying on the innocent to suck the blood out of them- all fantasy.
it is alright to everyones different views but vlad tepes and elisabeth bathory was real they were both vampyres and so was lillith, the demon from cain but they made them into fiction to make it juicy. they were horrible what they did or do but modern civilization doestn't except that today so rather it be wrong or right we adapt to our enviroment.
I am I would think mix of both, I love th efiction part but I dont wanna live in it, to messed up, and I enjoy the real part since I am in it.
I like facts, but it's always kinda fun to have a little fantasy/fiction in there.
fiction is easiest to believe...simply because of all the movies with all their little ways of killing vampires, and restrictions on what vampires can do...
i too is more of a person for facts but sometimes the truth is so boring and the fiction part of it bring out the fanasty part of what your hope the facts really was.
Life imitates art and art imitates life ….. who knows where the fact stops and fiction kicks in
I feel that the fiction part did draw me in. Believe me I am all about the facts, but when it comes right down to feeling, and knowing without any proof. Who are we to say either, when everyday we walk a thin line inbetween the two.~NFA
Fiction generally comes from more creative minds than those who just seek out the facts. This can drive research towards areas that you might not go to, based purely on empirical research.
I'm too sceptic and too realistic to choose fiction over facts. Of course, while exploring any subject especially history and folklore, you're bound to step over some fiction.
You only need to separate that from the evidence, proof and the actual facts.
I actually don't mind either....
Fact because truth about Vampirism is always fascinating.
Fiction, Because some stories are interesting.
For knowledge, I want facts. But, for entertainment, fiction can be just as good as facts. It's true that fiction is often based off fact, but it has been warped/bent enough that, the way it's portrayed, it can't exist/happen or hasn't yet.
For my part in regards to vampires, my interest is wholly factual and consists of theories and possibilities, but little to no fantasy.
Entertainment is never a bad thing though...
I usually try to look for the fact, however I know that fiction has also part of the fact, but with other views...
Well I would say, there is something always true about fiction, because it is crated from facts... Without facts, you got nothing.
Personally, I like the fiction about vampirism, but what I found totally amazing, are facts. Vlad Dracul as a legendary warrior... Seems to me, a super interesting figure of history, and of course, as a fiction as well.
Well considering the way that the media depicts the vampyric race...the facts are much easier to understand and believe. LIke everyhting you hear that is false about vampires...they are afraid of sunlight, they cannot come into your house unless invited, they are immortal...etc....the truth...they are normal people, is easier to believe.
oh, i prefer to believe fiction. fiction has to be believable - but fact doesnt - fact is often too far fetched.
I think for some people, the fiction part is easier to accept because most times, the fiction is what a person wants to hear.
There is a lot to be said for the cliche "truth hurts"
I am a history nut and believe fiction was created to dwell off the facts, but as one of my responses said in here they get to creative at times and draw out the fiction . I do believe people have trouble dealing with the facts as another comment said it does hurt but it is true. and that is a fact well said.
leaning towards the facts, but all fiction has some rooting in fact.
Fiction is very entertaining, some of my most favorite authors write fiction novels. However, I think I prefer fact over fiction if it is obviously something I want to learn more about. Facts can sometimes be just as entertaining sometimes if not more so than fiction.
I enjoy fiction. Fiction is fun. But facts are the solid ground upon which I stand. Unfortunately some people can't tell the difference between the two, and don't want to try. When it comes down to it, I'll choose facts every time.
I like fiction.I find it enjoyable b/c its really hard to get straight facts. Its like playing the game where someone whispers something into someones ear and they pass it on until the end and it comes out twisted and distorted(and sometimes even funny).
i enjoy the fiction i love the storys and myths. And also its fun to go and find out the facts behind the myths. I think Fiction is fine as long as you remember it is fiction.
Fiction is fun and it has a lot of interesting flaws however fact is always there. The facts are what makes everything fall into place, however the fiction gives you space to think about and enjoy what couldn't happen.
fact mean more to me the other is just something to read and occupy our thoughts
When I was younger I had a hard time finding the facts about vampires. So I became fascinated by the fiction. But know that I am able to find the facts I prefer them.
fact,,, how else can you explain the findings of vampires that go back to the stone ages... of the blood sucking man.????
I find both easy to accept. Although.. sometimes on is easier than the other.
I search for that facts .. they seem to be more interesting to me.. Yet the fictionous aspect to make for good movies and television
I have a major problem in bringing fiction into fact because I myself am a creator and writer. I just have to learn to separate them both.
Fact is really hard to determine especially considering faith and religion. I always find it hard to discuss religion with someone who doesn't directly believe in the same faith as you. I always ends up in a battle between opinion over fact.
I think if anything I do prefer fact and the agnostic in me has always thought fact over came fiction.
I like facts, logic and reasoning... however there is the romantic in me that hopes that something fictional could be real.
I also prefer the facts on any topic. I would consider fiction a false knowledge of things. To perceive it as reality woud be foolish.
I like to know the cold hard facts..........but sometimes it's nice to let the fiction swallow you
I agree... I write a lot of fanfiction and vampire related stories... I try to mix fact with fiction, but I deeply hope that my fiction could be real...
vampire life is mixed with both fact and fiction. lets face it, no one really knows where or how vampires started. i love both fact and fiction. what you can live with and what you can't.
Facts are always best. Some fiction though has some of its content based on facts.
We all read, and many of us know that wht we have read or are reading, some fiction has some.. not all, but some fact inserted into the books and stories we read.
fact is always better. it hard to believe wat they portray in movies and books and that tends to drive ppl away from believing or in some cases believe wat they see on tv or in books without knowing the truth.
Bright Blessings! There will always be conflict over this debate, there are just to many difrent veiws on it, but if we look at the first magicians in the Middel East during the Assyrian reign from 883-612 B.C.E. the Sumerian, or Akkadian Faith, the" Akhkharu" or Vampire was very REAL! The Necronomicon gives many detailed descriptions on how to call forth and/or bannish such creatures. There description is very diffrent from what many people today would call a vampire, however the FACT is they did, and still do exsist. Sometimes if not all the time, the truth is far more terrifying than fiction could ever be. Movies, and books have made them more romantic, and who wouldnt like that?
I have to warn you, if decide to go and buy a Necronomicon for this purpose and dont intend on physicaly, and mentaly preparing (such as at least a seven day fast, and knowing the Timing) for such a ritual dont attempt it! Dealing with such primal energy without fully understanding it is dangerous!
some time ill lean towards fiction but not always i mostly lean towards fact its more accurate in my opinion
what is a fact? a Known and proven thing. what does known and proven mean? a hypothesis which has been consensually agreed to have been satisfied by the results. what is consensually agreed? the opinion of a large number of people.
so if most people imagine something to be true, it is accepted as a fact.
every day scientists and historians discover that a "well known fact" is actually a fallacy.
I live in the real world......and the fiction world is my stress relief...my escape.
Fact or fiction.....hmmm
why not have both?
Fiction is a great way to release stress for me....and fact......is a great way to increase my knowledge.
hmm fiction is indeed an escape for us all even my own
but fact is where we are stuck to live in
Fiction is based in fact, doesn't mean much to a drop being in an ocean. Though there are some pretty potant theories about our fiction being another existance's fact and vice versa.
Personally I prefer fiction to feed my fantasy and fact for when I wish to learn.
i agree with arayne fiction is based on fact just exaggerated to make it more interesting
sometimes fiction can become fact through the beliefs and actions of many
Who decides what the facts are? Even scientific thought changes over time. They use to think the Earth was flat...facts at that time period but totally untrue.
As far as vampires by the definition here under what is a vampire is from superstition and folklore. It has nothing to do with the modern idea of what a vampire is. Even they don't believe in that definition. I personally would rather use any other word than vampire to describe the subculture but lingo seems to be their forte so making any needed changes on that is remote.
a lot of the wonders of the modern world exist because once a fantasist imagined them. if it were not for war of the worlds, you wouldn't have a DVD drive in your computer. people with imagination create fiction, which inspires inventors to make it fact.
Fact or fiction? The only real things are those you believe.
Fact or fiction, with out ficiton the world would have no imagination no reason to explor wonders, nothing to wonder at all I invite all fiction, I love facts but I love the fiction that came about from the facts!!!!!

We need to draw a line between Vampire and Vampirism. One is a noun and one is an adjective. To be a Vampire and to live as one is different. Is there really Vampires, of course not. Is there the lifestyle? Yes, as you can see here.
Fact or Fiction, To me it's a equal balance of both that keeps it interesting.
It's natural to want to believe the bad in things.. thats why people eat up all the scary movies out there.
However, I lean towards the fact aspect, if I'm really into something, then I want to learn all about it
I go for fact as there are plenty of cases of sanguinary vampires, plenty of cases of psychic vampires, and of course porphyria (sp?) a disease once mistaken with vampirism.
i'm one of those people who doesn't believe it until they see it.
I believe in both and study both... then make my own fact out of it... I'm also one of those ones that unless someone gives me undeniable proof that something does not exist then I will believe in it
To me everything that cant be explained is normally written off as fiction, no facts no go. But with the electronic age upon us there is so much stuff about that was fiction and due to being flogged around electronically it goes from being fiction to fact. Only you can decide what is real and what is not.
im more of a fact person myself...but i do like abit of fiction too!
I want the fact. Fiction is fine for entertainment but when I am serious about studying something, I want fact.
Unfortunately we cannot help but be influenced by the fiction.
WTH? It didn't post the rest of my post!!! Grrrr.!
What I SAID was: I SO agree with Trivia! (see above post)
When I'm curious, I'm all about the fact. When I'm bored, it's the fiction that I seek.
I look at it like this, when I am dealing with my energy deficiency, I want only facts...when I am reading for entertainment, I prefer fiction.
Occasionally I enjoy a good non-fiction book, but it usually isn't about something as boring as an energy deficiency.
Fact is great... Fiction is better though.. LMAO!! XD o.o;;
I think in a community like this some believe fiction as fact, as there is a very wide spectrum of beliefs here. So other than answering for myself (the answer of that would be a mixture that has formed my personal beliefs) I cannot really answer for anyone else.
Personally I think for me it is easier to believe in the truth about vampire than the fact. Because if you believe in the fiction all the time and don't see what's really real than sooner or later you won't be able to tell. Take for example if you know the truth and other people just go by what the books and movies produce then you can tell them your thoughts and or opinions and maybe it will show them what's real and what's not about them. Beacause I personally have a few friends who live the vampric lifestyle and they aren't immortal or rise from the dead every night so yeah I think it's easier to believe in the truth about them.
im gonna say both because its seems that where you find facts about something there is always fiction there also
fiction is overrated and over with now that people know the truth there isno mystery lol
The only thing i know about vampires is from T.V, the history channel and books. So i dont really know whats what. But its all based on true story so ....
i'm a fact person so i find fact more believable but i can see why fiction draws the mind of so many people.
I have always wanted the facts. Never ever want something fictional(fake).
Most people want to belive the fictional vampire because its more romatic, but i like the facts of vampires...
