We All Know How Many things in life are created.
Babies, Food, ect.
But I Was wondering what people thought about How the soul is created.
Is It A Random act that draws two equally charged partials together until it reaches concousness?
Or Energy that collides with energy to create intelligence?
I Don't know........
What Do You Think?
Off the top of my head......I can't recall but you should try reading.....
"How to uncover your past lives"
By Ted Andrews......
that book goes in depth and even has a diagram....so It should answer some of your questions.
I believe that the soul is not a seperate entity, but a metaphor for our "essence." i believe this essence grows through life experiene and personality, and is something we can evolve, change, and reflect upon.
I am not talking about past lives, Or spirits.
At Some point there was nothing as everything came into existence Souls came into being.
I want to know what people think on how that happened.
Ummm........Well.... think of life as a giant recycling bin.....All life spirits...Recycle themselves. Which is why Past Lives exist....
The only time.....New souls are created is when the world is getting overpopulated.....
So Past lives cannot exist without a soul.
And that is why I mentioned the book.
Past Lives Implies that there is already a soul.....Where did it come from?
How was It Made?
What Random events created it so it could exist?
Well.....The book actually talks about that...I think. The truth is....I'm not an expert....I'm hoping an expert shows up...to answer your question. I mean what you want to know is how a soul is made......and I don't think anyone can give you more then a belief or a theory.
this is a good question, how ever i have to pass with the question and wait to see what others say for i dont know myself
Well i f you believe in god.. then god did... I would think is depends on your beliefs
But does reality as we know it create belief, or does belief fit ones view of reality?
Great forum discussion.
I don't think I'll know the "answer" at least not in this lifetime, but I believe my soul is much older than this flesh and blood.
oh boy, is that the eternal question or what?
what is a soul? i see it as your self awareness, your sense of identity. but is it something that can be made, or just grows? how does it happen? this is a very important question, because one day we may build a computer or artificial being that has an awareness of self. can a machine have a soul? maybe they already do. can a fictional character in a book or film have a soul or identity of their own? these are very important questions.
sorry - dont have the answer - if i did, i wouldn't be a mortal, i'd probably be a god.
hm, never thought of that before! i think that when one creature or being dies, their essence creates another and the new 'soul' goes where it needs.
Souls were created by thought. At sometime every thought becomes a creation. The universe is constantly growing as we speak. Some kind of energy thought us up.
It is such a open discussion, we can answer it either religously or pragmatically...personally I do not even know how to begin to understand that..
The question asked was: How are souls made?
Multi choice?
a) Vampires dont have souls
b) a soul is our first breath of life
c) they come with the storks
I believe souls are the pure essence of energy. They are made inside of a living creature.
Each soul is a splinter of the one universal being which we define as 'G*d' in many forms.
As we seek to interperate the world around us, so it is that we are seeking to enable the universe to understand itself.
there is a story in the bible ((actually true)) called the guff that is where you soul supposely goes when you die and when someone is born its where it comes from.
The belief in the soul is the number one unifier for all cultures. The belief is possibly hard wired into our brain. Scientists did a study of brain patterns of nuns and priests who prayed. A completely different portion of the brain activated during this activity. This has led scientists to believe our soul belief would be in the same place.
But, I understand that the question is where the soul came from…
It is very possible that the area of our brain is hardwired to believe in souls. It is also possible we are one consciousness that we share.
We have no idea of finding out where the soul came from. Maybe at death we will find out.
This is yet another question that no one is going to be able to fully answer with the best of their ability until they die, and well, too little too late by then.
The answer to this reminds me of a story that I have recalled from my mind, but I can't remember the reference. It is galling me, but anyway here is the paradox:
There was a great leader and he was about to put to death one of his followers unless he told him how many stars there was in the sky..
He thought for a while, and then replied, "Why there are just as many stars in the sky, as there are grains of salt in the salt lake"
The Leader was pleased he answered so well and turned it into a true paradox and so he was spared the sword...
I believe that yes, there is a soul, but how or when it is created or happened to be, we may never know.. whether it was created by a deity or some grand scheme of life, we may never find out.. but to believe that there is no soul.. that is a little hard to agree with...
The "Soul" is defined as the spiritual nature of humans, regarded as immortal, separable from the body at death, and susceptible to happiness or misery in a future state.
I believe that our souls are the energy manifestation of our physical being. I believe that each person's soul starts out as unique because each person's DNA composure is unique and thus the energy exuded is singular to each person. I believe that from there, outside influences contribute to the way a person's soul develops. I don't believe that you die with the same soul you were born with, but rather with an evolution of it. Chemicals in your brain dictate how your emotional being will respond to stimuli. Pain, pleasure, contentment, anger, fear, feelings of loyalty...all of these are considered a product of the soul. I believe that the basic feelings are chemical..and the way you process them and react to them are due to the outside influences by which you've been subjected. When you are diagnosed as clinically depressed, a doctor will prescribe you a medication to alter the chemicals released into your body, thereby altering your emotional state and in effect, altering the energy force thought of as your "soul". I believe that when your body perishes and your brain and heart are stilled..that this energy "soul" is released..without the activity of your body's functions..there is no purpose for the body to maintain the soul.
There are many ways to look at this from a religious standpoint. You could say that the soul is then simply released as energy..and that the energy from it is then used by other beings and earthen objects as their own energy. You could also say that your "god" decides where your energy will go once it is expelled by how it has evolved..whether to heaven or hell. There are many different views and possibilities but I believe that the fundamental basics of the soul originate where I have stated.
Again, this is MY belief. I do not argue with those who wish to think of things on a more supernatural realm...it's a matter of where erach individual places their faith.
I have never really thought much about how a soul is created, but I think that they are created from positive and negative energys coming together to form an intellegent being, sorry if that doesn't help.
Wow.. thank you for your thoughs on the subject Sapphire... an interesting perspective, hadn't thought of that...
if that God guy made souls. how does he do it? lol. he must be some kind of magician.
Its an enitity created by peoples essence...it grows & learns...when we die its then pasted on to another enitities, sometimes we remember our past lives, sometimes we dont...just depends on how strong our soul is!
I think souls are created when you are born. Everyone is born with a purified soul i believe. But its how you live your life that determinds how your sould will turn out when you die.
now with this god thing no one knows how everything was made... right so how do they /we know that we even have a soul.. i hope that makes sence
a soul is created by the magnetic energy between the female and male counter parts. two energies combining creating a third energy. whether God is involved depends upon your beliefs. energy exists beyond death with every living soul that the person who died had touched during their lifetime. its as natural as the sun or moon rising.
Since a 'soul' isn't something tangible, the speculation of its creation is plausible at best.
I would thusly conclude that if a 'soul' existed, it has existed either forever or a perpetual amount of time. A method of creation could also possibly have taken millennia.
However the idea is quite interesting. I would also like to know how a 'soul' hypothetically could be created. This is a great question for our more philosophically gifted members. :)
I, as a Christian, believe that God creates our souls for a partiular time and purpose. Just my belief, please don't be mean:)
i don't believe in God so that theory is out
I don't beleive in past lives- so that's out as well
I do however believe conscience. Our soul lies in our conscience, we feed it, nurture it with our thoughts and fantasies. So a soul is created-
when we start being conscious of things.
That's why I was being hypothetical, because since the existence of a god is hypothetical, that souls too would be considered the same.
Personally...that is the greatest mystery of life...and I would like to keep it that way...*smiles*
RAVENdelajour you wou, ldn't want to know the meaning of life?
god gives you the soul as soon as you are in the womb and as you leave this world god takes it and returns it to another womb........... this is my opnion........
electroplasma energy...emotions and memories all bound in one. Making ectoplasma.
honestly i think that souls are created by wind, light, and water...kind of like a plant.... the reason i think is is because they are all hard to see... but you can feel all three...
Even God(if you believe in any form of) is soul. Soul is energy in motion. We are all connected and yes we are a part of God and God is a part of us.But ... what is God. I believe not in a physical being but in that of energy. the birth of souls. I challenge you to study on the "hall of wisdom" and study the origins of enrgy/Quantum physics.Soul is energy!
I think that souls are created threw a process of two energys coming together
most likey to be anti-mater and maybe alpha or beta particles. If you think of it does a soul have any mass? I do not think so. So if it is energy you have to have anti-matter that would blance it out. And yes anti-matter is rare. So there is where a High spirtual being or God comes into play. S/He would create anti-matter and then create a alpha or beta particle and then put high pressure around the two to create a high energy molecule that has no weight. But could this energy be living? Could it think? Not yet I think. I think there is another factor that you have to add in. Maybe a plasma or maybe its just a human body. You know what I bet know one knows not even the creator himself because how did the creator of all come into being?
To Selfcreator
Think about what you said.
Wind...
Light...
Water...
Wind is the movement of air due to pressure...
Light is a form of radiant energy
Water is one particle Hydrogen and two particles Oxygen
So are you saying that pressure or movement combines with a radiant energy with hydrogen and oxygen?
If that was the case wouldnt millions of souls be created on accident becuase wind comes in contact with light and water every day...
I really don't beleave a soul could be made of these...sorry I dont see threw your eyes
It is my personal belief that a certain number (billions) of souls were formed at the start of creation. These souls live in a body for the life of that physical body then return to a kind of holding area until a new body that fits that soul is born. At that time the soul enters and lives again. On and On.
DruidnessSteph, I am also a christian. I believe that beings were made by God. But, are new souls born when a being is born? Or is it an old soul born into a new body?
If the later were the case, then it would help to make many other things make sense such as people remembering their past lives etc. How would one know about their past life if their soul was born when THEY were born?
in my opinion, im not sure i believe in souls, we have a consciousness but no actual proof of a soul at all, and i also think its based on your beliefs, but i believe in basically nothing
For me it's all in the mind.
In our mind there are our thoughts, our memories, our emotions, our desires, fears, ability to reason etc...
So for me the soul is just the mind.
mamadog, i think that's a great belief and it's one that i hold too. it fits nicely into the idea of reincarnation, well for me anyway.
What an insightful question! If you go by the modern day bible souls are a part of God, Gia or whatever celestial being you worship. But in creation it does state man was created in God's own image, so maybe we are a part of a larger entity.
Piers Anthony has a series called the "Incarnations of Immortality", give it a read.
It is taught that there is no such thing as a soul. We are all filled with living energy, thus our life. Our spirit or "soul" is nothing but a connected peice of the complete living energy that is the universe, that only from our limited and blinded viewpoint do we mistake as seperate and unconnected. And since energy can not be created, nor destroyed, the answer is obvious.
Well I believe a soul is created by a divine universal energy that is sent on a journey to learn and grow and bring back its wisdom to the universal flow or universal consciousness.
i think it evolves and matures. that it starts from something else and matures.
I just did a little "soul searching" and for the most part, the answers are interesting. The one I read through thoroughly says that God gave us souls, so that when we die, the Holy Spirit fill the soul. It's a cool theory if you are religious. I am not!
The soul is not part of the physical world; it is the part of us made in God's image. This world is a filter that tests and instills in us qualities for the next phase of existance. The body is not a part of us any more than a coffee filter is a part of the coffee... it is left behind before it reaches fulfilment.
hmm that is a very good question..... i guess it's basically created when you are born, but then it grows from your thoughts and actions and other expiriences.
A great question.
As I am not a religious person i would not say something like "GOD", as a chaos warlock i would have to investigate the problem in more depth before coming to a solid conclusion. However, that said, without investigating this subject in more detail, i would say that the soul is created when the child is growing in the mothers womb. This could be done by the fact that as the brain grows and electrical charges course through it, giving the child a sense of conciousness, and as the brain begins to assimilate the voices and sounds that the growing foetus hears, it incorporates that information into the memory and the child (once born) starts to develop a behaviour which would possibly identify with the actions and.or sounds that it heard while inside the mother.
I would add, however, that as a firm believer in reincarnation and the whole life after deeath theories.....I do feel that some souls are already developed when the child is conceived. However, this could indeed very well be due to the fact that (if the family tree were researched into hard enough and in enough detail) the fact that there is somehow a blood link between the child who is born as a reincarnation and the person they believe themselves to have been in a past life.
What do you think.
I have a pet theory on this.
Souls come from the same place as the rest of the universe. Where that is is impossible to say, because any source where would, in turn, have to have come from somewhere else. But this is where my theory comes in.
Everything that is here now was here for the beginning. It's recycled and reclaimed in an endless circle. The life-energy that goes into making a soul can be miniscule and go to a gnat or something, and be a very simple creature. A great deal more energy is required for something with a greater soul, like a human. When a thing dies, the energy is released back into the universe to give life to something else. If it is a gnat soul, it may go to make another gnat or be pulled into a composition with more life-energy to make the soul of a greater being. Conversely, when a person dies, the energy may go to make a new person, or it may break apart and become the life-energy for many different entities. The quantities are, of course, immeasurable, but I'd theorize that one human soul would be the equivalent of many millions of gnat souls. there is a finite amount of life-energy around, so the more humans there are, the fewer other entities there can be. Also, I think there can be varying degrees of life-energy in beings of the same species, dictating some aspects of their nature. I think this because of the laws of conservation. Energy and matter are always concerved. They can be changed into other forms, but the quantity must always remain the same. Nothing is ever created or destroyed.
I grew up with the belief that souls have existed from the dawn of time. It's energy that has formed but need to "host"itself in a living form. Here, it can carry on its purpose. But the whole theory of where souls come from really would depend on each persons beliefs. I don't think there has really been a scientific approach to it.
no one will ever know how a soul is made it is impossible and will be a mystery for all time. But it is a question that only beings more questions like how do souls affect a persons actions and behavoirs
No one will ever know for sure about this one but we all have our theories....LOL.... Mine is made up on a religious base because of my up bringing.... But it is something God gave to all of us.... there is nothing else behind it but a gift from Him..... However I don't always think God is there so my theory really doesn't hold to much ground with me....
creation of a soul..i would think would be made by..
-energy matter
-will of a mind
-higher source of power
I believe that it depends on ones own belief on the subject. I mean we could all give our opinion yet does anyone actually know for a fact how it came about or if there are Souls indeed. I believe we all have one and many different views on how it came about yet, no true facts LOL!! Good luck on this one... :)
I see souls as similar to energy. They can neither be created nor destroyed, merely transferred. Souls have always been around in some form or another.
I believe that a soul is like a fingerprint a unique entity that passes from one body to the next, after the flesh becomes to old and dies. I too am looking for the answer to the question that you have asked.
Souls are the lifes energy of each human or animal. growing with knowledge and experience from the years on mother earth, the electronic impulse in every living thing. What I beleive
i guess this depends on how u look at it and what ur religious beliefs are. catholics believe of course that god puts the soul. in heaven there are all ready enough guardian angels for every soul. each time a sperm and egg unite, the second the fertilization happens, is the second the soul is placed into the fetus and the appropriate guardian angel is assigned. but thats for catholics. im sure other religions are similar in some way shape or form.
i think we all have our own opinions on how a soul is made but i think this is of a personal belief system on what each individual choses to believe.
I am still on my journey of understand like many of you are... NOW, I came across an article about The Assemblage point, it is a point in our body, that moves up from the umbilicus at birth to one year of age.. (I have thread about this, open, with links for further info) This is still beign researched.. could THIS be where our soul forms?
it is possible

that is a good question......i think it just comes with being alive though
Before responding to this question I thought I’d do a little research......
“the soul is thought to incorporate the inner essence of each living being, and to be the true basis for sapience”
and the results were disappointing no matter how I put it in my search it all comes back to man and his soul being created by god, and in essence saying that our souls are infect part of god......
I had hoped maybe to bring something a little more interesting to this forum instead; I can only say I don't really know.
I would venture to say that the soul since it is a thing comprised of energy that carrys with it the energetic signature of how a body will respond given the situations it faces....like electricity....that it is a project of the basic elements that form the makeup of existance, as a semiconsious emenation from the hermetic concept of the universal mind.
If you want to get into forging souls, then alchemy, Taoism, and Necromancy and the Cabala, the Sefer Raziel, and Sefer Yetzirah.....
the sefer Raziel= the book written by the angel raziel, which contains the break down of everything into its four seasons, and the four breakdowns of each of the 22 letters,
the sefer yetzirah states the proper intonation of the 22 letters and all of their vowels in proper sequene (which is listed in the back of the blue copy) will manifest each of the parts of the body needed to create a soul......if the soul is in our system here, electricity, then the energy of the organs divided into the 22 letter system, and then based on the water, fire and earth for male and females, would be the generator to create such......
ventureing to say that animating a vessel, is like giving it a place to stay....however you have to pull in aspects of every energy current to get a proper response...
.....methods for creating a servitor i would liken to creating a soul for easy explination.....biding by the law of correspondence, as above so below,
if the universal mind does it, why cant we?
It is my belief that each time that human conception takes place, God creates another human soul and infuses it into the minute fertilized element that is capable of developing to full maturity. So the soul does not exist before the body as do the angels, one of whom is assigned as guardian of the new human person; but comes into being at the very instant of conception.
I don't think anyone is able to answer the actual question.
I would have to question, though - where is the proof that we have a soul at all? Is it just because religious writings reference the soul? That isn't proof; that's hearsay, isn't it? (oh, someone told me I have a soul, so I MUST have a soul! Guess what, when we were little, these same someone's told us Santa Claus brought our toys, but he didn't.)
I believe MasterThoth stated it best. We are filled with living energy. I don't believe in the "soul".
if there is reincarnation what if there were only ever so many souls ever created, just being recycled and some people have them and some people dont. o0oooh. i dunno im making it up as i go.
I doubt the idea of a limited number of souls. I mean, back in ancient times, there were no where near the number of humans infesting this planet as there are now. There were probably just under one billion people alive on the planet then. Today's count is just over 6 billion.
My point is, if there are finite numbers of 'souls', how many could there be, because our global population keeps growing.
This is why I doubt souls exist at all and that it is merely an explain of ourselves, how we can be so unique amongst so many billions of humans.
We have thus no souls and out purpose on this planet is to simply exist and procreate. As far as I am concerned, I would like to make other people's lives more enjoyable on their journey through existence and I wish the same in return.
thats my point .. look at how many soul-less people there are today!!!!
i think people are not soulless, you can loss that part of you.
This is my thought since I do not believe in God nor the bible.I know we are not alone in the universe. And Souls are aliens and our body are organic suits to help them cope with living here we are bio enginerd We were a dieing race of some kind could not live on this planet so someone constructed a living breathing bio suit that can self replacate thus housing the soul or alien being.
I do not think there is one singular, and concrete answer to how souls are made. I think it comes down to what explanation does it for you, wether it be God makes them, they just are there, or any other theory.
first you get a hand full of clay then you add some salt and water and stir it for about 20 minutes then there you have a living spirit lmao j/k haha....but seriously this question id of a broad nature that all the answers i find interesting as well as some to be quite comical as well.
no no the handfull of clay and salt water is how you make the body.we are after all part earh and 90%water
"first you get a hand full of clay then you add some salt and water and stir it for about 20 minutes then there you have a living spirit lmao j/k haha....but seriously this question id of a broad nature that all the answers i find interesting as well as some to be quite comical as well."
lol, I agree with that.
I am glad this thread has stayed alive for so long.
But in regards to this topic, if we say that a soul is energy, and then we say that it is essence...
By essence, that which when taken away causes the object not to be the original object....
That from this we can derive the elemental parts that are observed in the outer cosmos....energy currents of justice, love, magic, war, femine, masculine, yin, and yang.....in some of my readings of Taoist texts ive come across something interesting, which might help..
It is all chi, you take the yin current and yang currents (passive and active energies) and you have a tree, you combine them again adding more of one then the other, you have a rabbit, and a human, so would this then not be the same as the soul? being comprised of a certain balance of the yin and yang currents or chi, based off of the energetic dispositions generated by the living biomagnet that is the human body? Simply breaking down to, we have a soul, because we are aware of it.
If we are self aware, does not this mean that we have in ourselves something different then the tree because we separate from ourselves that the tree is not of myself, it is not of my flesh, my bones, it is of nature, and I am of human....but the tree in its own way is self aware, so If you want to continue reading this...then would not the soul, that essence, be the manner in which we ascribe attributes to ourselves to make ourselves different from all of nature...
I am a xtian, Pagan, God, Vampire, Demon, Cheerleader, etc.....down the line. It is the work of the human Ego to set itself apart from the scheme of things, because it wants to have some importance, an individuality, when it is still comprised of the same chi that flows through everything else in existance, but its how it percieves itself that calls it a soul. If it names it, then it must be.
i don't think a soul is created but is just there it may be vreated but who knows
Well said HisdarkestDream, that is a lovely one to mill over.
