having three kids of my own and i have babysat since i was nine. i often seen a baby gave in to a corner or at a wall and bable. i now live in my late grandmothers home and my six month old son often talks to a picture of cardnals that she had painted. we joke saying that gram is talking to him. personaily i think that babys havent developed the part of the brain that blocks this sort of thing , that they have a gift that is lost somewhere as we grow.
do you think babys can see and talk to spirits?

yes children can see spirits because they are more open to things than adults because as some of us grow older we try to find an explination for everything and become close minded.Not like a child who is open minded and curious about everything

I do know that certain senses are sharper when people are younger. For example, when I was in college one of my audio recording professors said that a humans hearing range (frequency range) is based on very young children because it hasn't been damaged yet and still has its full potential. Perhaps its comparable.

Oops, lost a bit of that post. Basically, I was going to say if anyone has a chance to... I say the young ones do. But don't get simple child's play confused with anything else.

When I was a little kid, like one and a half my grandpa would allways steal me from my parents, so I spent alot of time with them. If I wanted to be picked up I would look up to him and put up my arms. My parents told me that after he died, about my one and 3/4 year. I was sitting in the middle of the floor by myself in the living room and my mom looked uo from washing dishes and saw me looking up with my arms held out like I was telling my grandpa to pick me up, she said after a minute or so it looked like I got frustrated and started crying. I think that kids can see spirits, I know they can.

Definately, my daughter has on several occasions. It started when she was about 4 and now she is 15. It doesnt happen alot and it used to scare her but she is ok now.

i would say yes i have a 2 year old and he will look off at what i think is nothing and start to have a conversation when he was younger i didnt think anything of it recently he said nana and that is what i called my grandmother i then smelled her perfume and knew she was there she died when i was a teen so he never knew her really but i think she is there for him in her own way

I dont thank that any child has ever talked to themselvs, it is the spirit of a loved one, known to the child or not.

If babies and or children could not see the ethereal, some would think them mental for looking at nothing and laughing.

Without a doubt in my mind I say yes children do see spirits. Their little minds aren't clouded with ego and all the bullshit we got in ours.

My neice was 3 for an entire day she played with a little girl we couldn't see...up until that night she ran to her living room door and cried out ""awww she's leaving and she sobbed with such sorrow. Moment's later we got a phone call one of her cousin's a little girl had passed. That might be a coincidence but I don't think it was.

You cant call an infant mental, they have not devoluped intelegence yet, they laugh because they know how. but maybe you are right, maybe the laughing is their guardian spirit looking over them and making them happy or sompthing.

I believe children and animals, both , are more sensitive to " spirits ". Oftentimes as we are growing up , we are told that they do not exist , so we start believing that. Then as adults, we have so many other responsibilities, we tend to ignore or don't have time for such things.

i do believe they can....they ahvent had the reprograming that many of use have gone through yet...they dont understand the things that are put out by many religions about how certian things done exists so they dont know how to block these things out...i think part of the proof lies int he fact that they have their invisible friends and see the monster inthe closet....children will cry thier eyes out and beg and beg in some of these situations....it has to be more than imagination...they are too little to be schitzophrentic or have any of the other major mental problems that would cause such hallusenations such as that....

I think that it would be the most farfetched assumption ever...my first reason being that in the game "peek a poo" baby is amused because they have not developed their reasoning, so the baby actually believes you are dissapearing..and reappearing..therfore..I do not think a baby would understand that concept of a spirit that may or may not be present..while babys can slowly develope our speech..why would they be able to communicate with spirits when a spirit is simply human gone...if they can not communicate with us why comminicate with spirts be possible..if you mean a 5 year old i believe they would be developed enough by the time they can use our language

If spirits do exist, then I would say that a small child would be able to see things more clearly than an adult would. Due to the fact that their minds have not been manipulated by their environment.
A child is more innocent and viable to thier surroundings.

yes i do believe that children can see and speak to spirits, because when my neice was a baby, she used to speak to her dad, and her dad passed away as she was being born and she didn't know her father...and even to this day she still see's spirits and speaks to them and she also said something about seeing a color glowing around the person or above their heads...and she doesnt lie, so yes i truely think its very possible.

yes, definatley, they have open minds, as an adult we close of log and that could happen things we dont believe..

babies have not yet fully developed their cogniscent senses, so probably cannot tell the difference between a live person and a spirit.

when my niece was a toddler (about 2 or 3 i think) my sister took her to the cometary with her whilst she put flowers on gran's grave. my niece kept chatting away to the gravestones. then said to my sister "i'm talking to all the old people that live hear - you come and talk to them mummy"

it freaked my sister out a bit.

I completely believe that children can see spirits much better than most adults. Many invisible friends are usually guardian angels or spirit guides. I think its because children are untainted by other peoples beliefs and ideals. They haven't been forced to believe what their parents and family members believe and so there for their hearts, minds and third eye chakra's are wide open.

So I definitely believe children can see spirits.

i think small children can see them my best friends kids tell her of their great grandparent being in their apartment strange men even (get this cause i didnt know this could really happen) monkeys ...we are all born with this and we lose it along the way 9 times out of 10 your childhood imaginary friend was actually a dead person(so i hear)

for sure all adult precieve it as a make beleive friend ,, but i do believe 99.5 percent of time it is some spirit they see

as we grow older, were taught to belive that nothing is out there.

but, when were kids, we know sumthings out there. we know...cause we can feel it.

Yes because as we get older, we are told by others that ghosts are not real and so we stop seeing them. Children seem to be more open to these things because of this, without the 'knowledge' that 'no one can see ghosts'.... hard to explain because I'm so tired.

Of course ghosts are real, people just don't like them because they are afraid of things that they don't understand!

Yes Children Can Definetly See Spirits , I Witnessed It First Hand , My Cousin When He Was about 5 or so His Great Grand Mother Had Died We Were Standing In The Hospital Waiting Room And He Was Standing There Talking to someone but there was nothing there !

The way I see it, children still have their innocence. The world in which we live tries to force that innocence out of us, whether it be by the mundane grind of working, the trials and tribulations of life, and so on, our natural instincts get worn away as we are forced on this urban path of self-destruction.

Children, and those of us who are either able to seperate their minds this way, haven't experienced this or are able to ignore this mental corrosion, and thus are able to tap into the parts of our brain which are so far unexplored (90% of our brain is still unknown, which leads to the possibility of extra-sensory perception, psychic phenomena and just mundane instincts that we have forgotten or abandoned in our pursuit of a more urban life).

yes, i do beleive that a child can see a spirit. they are more open to the world around them always wanting to see and learn everything they can about thier surroundings. and if a spirit inhabits the surroundings then i am sure that they see them :)

Proly they can, children are more relaxed, than the grown ups runnin around for their buisness, so maybe children can notice those things easier than grown ups can, but proly what ever they notice has no diference than from anything else they notice.

Children have always been better recievers for such things because they have not been taught..or had bred into them..the disbelief that plagues so many of todays adult. They don't know that what they are seeing is not "real" according to the powers that be wrong. My youngest is a strong receptor so I am careful with him in how he is taught.

Children when they are young can seee many things adults can not see anymore. Their third eye (Spiritual eye) is open and they can become easily swayed by entities....however children are also under a protection that these entities can not take their lives or harm them directly....but they can influence them to do something . How many of you can remember having "Imaginary" friends that you actually interacted with but your parents found impossible to believe....forgetting that they once also had interaction with certain entities when they were young.
But when that spiritual eye is closed "we" no longer are influenced by them, and they can not influence "us".

Spirits of the dead...of course but they have to allow the child to see them, but the child may also feel their presence and not understand it, only shadow images at times and at others the manifestation of the spiritual form itself.

I believe they can...the week before my daughter passed, she just learned to smile and would look above her and smile and squeal...I thought she was seeing spirits...

As you mentioned there is an undeveloped function that allows for babies and children to be receptive to spirits..... I fully believe that children are able to see the gateway to talk to spirits and those few adults who can either never built up the defense or they have knocked it down...

i belive that everyone is born with gifts like that and that we lose them due to lack of use or just because we simply choose to not belive anymore

My children were in bed for the night, and one of them called for me. I went into their room and my oldest who was 5 at the time told me that they couldn't sleep because of the man watching them. They both saw a man with long dark hair. I asked them where and they both pointed to the same spot. My mom thinks based on the description that it was her brother who died a while back.

When i was younger (around the age of 9) I used to see them but my parrents kept telling me its not possible so maybe kids can see them

Oh yeah, I have no doubt that they can. I think part of it is that they're pure and innocent, and still have that naivety that they lose as they get older. Most of the time, they haven't had people telling them "No, that's not right" and "No, that's not possible."

I believe that children and animals have the ability to see spirits. I believe it is because they are innocent. They have no outside opinions that cloud their view. Children see freely, because their minds are open to anything.

Makes sence why my family can't see them then there all die Hard Catholics there so close minded to every thing thats not in the bible. my grandparents yelled at me just because i mentioned i may be going to England to go ghost hunting at HighGate cemetery

i believe thats where make believe friends come from when little kids say they have friends that really arent there..or really are but we cant see them

being catholic does not always make someone blind to ghosts. my gran was catholic, but our family has always been gifted (or cursed - depending on your point of view) by "the sight". most of that side of the family are still catholic, and it is quite an amusing conundrum - they see and here ghosts, but are trying desperately not to believe in them, coz the man in the black frock says they dont exist.

Yes, children can see spirits that adults cannot. A visiting three year old girl discovered a spirit, a little boy, in a wardrobe I had bought days earlier and on the same visit saw the other spirit I knew was here, a teenage girl. Her mother and other adults did not see anything. Visiting friends who are open to the spirit world confirmed both without prompting. From my experiences most adults are closed off from seeing spirits.

i don't think its that our spiritual eye closes because we are brought in to the physical world so much as that we neglect the spiritual world as we go into adult life with all its pyhsical worries

I believe they can....like the above posts that state imaginary friends.....however when adults tell children that what they say they are seeing or hearing is only their imagination and not real it can cause a child to doubt themselves. When doubt sets in they no longer believe in what they saw or heard.

I'm not sure about that, but I think if something wishes to be seen then they are more than likely going to go to someone younger and more open minded to the idea of them.

I've seen a few, My old house was haunted by a little girl.

I am the only one of my parents' children who never could see spirits. My closest sister and youngest brother being the most prone to it. My sister actually had a lot of problems with it up until only a year or so ago: she was frequently attacked by them. My brother, who is only four years old, often will not sleep until I go into his room and send the ghosts away. He's horrified of them and somehow, apparently, I get rid of them. It's no good when anyone else does it for him; my dad is apparently incapable. Connor always asks me to do it. I don't know how I do it or why Desirae (my sister) and Connor are bothered by evil spirits... I think they are just more open to it. I'm terrified of spirits, myself... because I can't see them. I feel powerless to them, even though according to both Connor and Desirae, I am able to send them away. Des would wake me up screaming when she was being attacked and I would send them away. I wish I could explain this better....

a child is more open to those kinds of things....there body is still so young, as is there brain.....so it is very possible that they do...as there senses are more sensitive then someone who is older

I believe kids minds are way more open to things than adults are, once people grow up they usually start questioning things to much and i think they start getting closed minded...

I don't think that they can. I don't think children as a whole are any different than adults. There might be some children that are more intuned with the energy around them than others but not all children.

Yes children can see spirits cause they are most exceptional to their surroundings . When I was young i could see spirirts I just got use to it thats how come I can still see them .

I believe that children can see spirits because that is the stage in life when they are far more curious then adults and more open minded.

My mother used to tell me the story of how I would scare her to death with something like this. She would be sitting in the rocking chair with me when I was very small, maybe 2 or so, and I would be looking over her shoulder when she said I would suddenly look past her and behind her and say Hey there! Only when my mom turned around there wouldn't be anyone there...and there wasn't supposed to be anoyone else in the house....
Years later when I had my son, I would be sitting in the rocking chair with HIM, he would look past me or in front of me to empty (to me) space, and wave and say hi to someone who wasn't there...

Everyone can see spirits...Really...

Children and the Elders can see them better, they're the ones less bound be societal norms, they're either closer to the spirit because they just left them or they're fixing to join them again.

Plus a lot of the time they spend more time alone, which spirits like.

yes I believe they do..... I believe the reason for them seeing them and adults usally don't is because life has screwed up our minds so much that we don't believe in anything there for we won't see anything. a baby hasn't had it's mind warped by this messed up world so they believe in alot of things we don't

I believe that younger children are able to see ghosts, only because they have an imagination and are more perceptible to these kind of things. Maybe because they are more open and vulnerable to their environment and the things going on around them.

Oh this is a good one. Ya know I happen to believe from perspective, have a daughter of my own, probably sees something in her room, only because there is something in her room that terrifies her and she comes running into our room screaming her head off and clinging onto us for dear life like something scared her.

Babies have yet to believe you are crazy if you see or experience things that mainstream sociey deems adnormal, so I think they are more aware and use senses that we have supressed or have had supressed for the most part.

I myself had an experience on watching my middle daugther sitting in her grandmothers living room and staring at her uncles picture she has never meet and was talking to him plain as day this went on for about an hour

I believe they can because they have a more vivid imagination. Not saying it's imaginary spirits they see. We just tend to blind ourselves to the spirits unlike the children they tend to have their eyes open to everything.

Children can see all sorts of things. Its parents who tell them those things :don't exist" that kill the ability.

i believe that since children are so innocent and their minds are open to everything that they can see spirits. I've seen children look absolutely no where and babble and laugh. I have also seen my friends dogs looking at something that nobody could see.

I think they can. My son used to "play" with my wife's deceased father. He described him perfectly without ever even seeing a picture of my wife's dad. i was 100% comfortable with that knowledge, knowing my father in law was watching over my son

I believe so, my daughter use to sit there and babble away to something or some one all the time, stare off into the roof and the walls at times it freaked me out, i had to look twice.. so I believe their young minds can see spirits..
