in many parts of the world there are storys and spells where you can call forth a creatur, spirt, devil, or what have you,, they will give you your harts desire , and in return you give up your soul,, big drawl back when you wish for something there is always a twist to your wish and in the end you never get what you truley want.
now my question is ,, has one experianced something like this happen? would you trade your soul for a wish?
i would not give my soul for a wish
but i would give it to protect those i luv
I would not give or sell my soul for anything unless it was to save a loved one and even then it would have to be a guarentee and no catches.
i dont think i would,,, there are many spells to do so, but im not willing to lose something like that
Does it count if you already have.
I truly believe you can sell your soul, mainly because I have. I sold my soul to protect someone that in the end left me and moved on. But I wanted him to be happy, and if it wasn't with me then I didn't sell my soul for nothing.
Well I don't really think anyone can actually sell their soul, but if I could I don't think I would.
i would never sell my soul especially not for something i wanted to wish for. and i would never call forth a demon like that either. but that is cause of my beliefs.
sell my soul no way there is always a catch to some crazy hoodo voodoo thing like that .. I would really have to think hard on it to even consider it.
I have heard many claim to have sold their soul to the Devil. During my research, I have found a few spells, incantations, and rituals that can be performed, thus allowing one to actually utilize one's soul to gain certain items. I have never done this, nor do I wish too.
I would probably sell my soul, if i was guarenteed that i would get what i wanted
A pointless act, your soul is "you" with out it you can not function.
The soul trades are fun.
But usually when the person gets what they want, their vice compells them and they die....if you want to know how to enter into pacts and what not, its like a degree in occult law...but it doesn't pay...im in messages if someone wants to know....other then the idiots who have been running around vr saying stupid things about vile acts....anyway...for the seeker, come seek me out if you want help with pacts.
Assuming that I believe that I could sell my soul for a wish, I would likely only reserve it for saving my wife or kid.
And in doing so, I would do everything to ensure that there are no hitches.
In literature and storyline of soul-selling, there is always a catch.
"Sure, you give me your soul, and I'll have the terminal cancer in your wife cured."
Then the wife is killed in a car accident after being discharged from the hospital....
well at least she didnt die of cancer....
but thats what you get.....what do you expect?? nothing in this world comes without a cost.
I would never trade my soul for anything...I just dont see how it would be worth it.
I would give my life for someones, but never my soul as trades of that sort are usually done in a fashion that you do not achieve what you desire but what you ask for. There is always a catch. And collection is at death which can be at any time.
Is signing over your soul the same thing? kinda like giving yourself to a certain belief? If so then i have and hold no regrets what so ever
I haven't ever done it..but I would for those I love..never for something so simple as a wish, but for the life of a loved one I would.
I have never heard of anyone selling their soul except maybe in movies and hollywood land. And I don't know if i would just for a wishor for personal gain.
But if my child was to die and it was my life or his, thats an option I might choose.
Your soul is all that you are the "meat sack" that you wear is not important, you cannot sell your soul you can however devote your existence to another creature and all spells require a bit of putting faith in other's hands. Can you tell me one ritual where you do not give thanks to different gods and goddesses?
A wish may not last forever so I wouldn't sell my soul for anything like that...But if it came down to my soul or there person/people who hold my heart, then I wouldn't question handing it over...
Id much rather live without my soul if it meant pro longing the gift that is those near and dear to me
I would never sell my soul...hehe I've had mean give me their hearts..LOL but I think that is different.
but seriously, anyone who gives up their soul doesn't know what they are asking for. There's always a catch 22 or some fine print we don't read...it's how our gov gets us, so does that mean the gov is the devils advocates? LOL
Selling your soul to the devil or any other entity would be pointless, because the devil is a thousand times smarter than man is, and he would be able to trick man easy, the only people who could possibly get away with selling their soul to the devil would be a person who knew for a fact that they was going to hell, and the only reason i say that is because they have nothing to lose...
selling your soul is a bit of an extreme thing. personally, i see no need to sell it for something as petty as a single wish.
if i cannot manifest what i want on my own, then chances are i'm simply not meant to have it. i wouldn't sell my soul for fame or fortune. i obtain what i can by whatever means are available to me. i don't sell myself to anyone. or anything.
If you believe in the religious aspect of the soul selling to said deity, then the function would be to try and out wit the diety. If that is what you desire to do.
Other than that, I would say your soul is not yours alone, but a part of the universe as a whole, your perverbial umbilical cord, your silver string to the heavens/ astral cord is what keeps your soul with you, if you were to "sell" your soul, would you not die from the severing of the cord? Why not just loan it out, lol.
Point in case, only erratic behavior of human emotions causes such thoughts of selling ones soul. Personally I do not presume to think in a religious fashion. Too much drama.
But if We Satanists doesnt worship the Devil, why would we believe that? but i have signed my soul away..Matters not if anyone believes that ot not..tis what i wanted
Jenova, I did not say I sold it to Satan..I sold it to my Church and life has no guarantees anyways..I will stand proud in my choice so it doesnt matter what anyone thinks
I know True Power also and I am a willing Student also..My Loylaties lie with my Apeiron Family as well as my Real life Ones
I do hope that the newer satanists, are knowing the fact that they are not worshiping a deity, but going by certain standards as any other cult setting. Now if you are a luciferian, this is an entirely differant matter. Just my opinion, but satan had his final death in 1984.
Believe what you will, speculation continues.
I wouldn't sell my soul, if a person you love is meant to move on or leave this world there's not much you can do about it. I would rather live my life knowing that I worked hard and through determination and will power achieved what I have, not through some magical cliff note.
I do not believe its possible to do so.. but if it were no there is nothing I would sell it for. Since I believe this is not the only life I would be giving up the option for any lives to come.
I don't believe it is possible..but I would do it to save one of my kids.
Honestly I fail to see what value my soul would have to anyone but me. Adding to that, there is nothing in this life that I can't accomplish myself, without the need to "sell" something that precious. There are NO guarantees anyway..
I don't think I would sell my soul, not for love nor money or even to bring my brother back may he rest in peace.
would you trade your soul for a wish?
..
the only thing I truly have?
"good grief," emphatically not!
i think that is a hard question to answer...i am not sure what i would do.....but i know if it would save my daughter's life i would not hesitate *smile*
But if a bear craps in the woods, and one can see it, does it still smell?
I wouldn't sell my soul for anything, thats if it were possible
there is no guarentee that any such deal would even be honoured so why do it
well i actionly considered it before but was to scared to do so but if it came down to saving my child i wouldnt think twice i have recently concered doing it because of losing my father but i didnt wanna take the risk of something bad happening even though to have my dad alive and healthy again would of been wonderful.
Well i have seen here that there is a few who thinks as they did ..Just because We are Satanists doesnt mean We worship the Devil..In fact We do not..We worship Our-selves..Read up on Satanism, Church of Satan or even The Satanic Bible..It clearly states Just Because We Are Satanists, we do not worship the devil..Geez..Stereotype as always
i wouldn't sell my soul for a wish or anything of the such unless there was absouletly NO stipulation but there is always a stipulation so there I will never sell my soul
I would sell my soul for a few things. Saving a loved one would be one of them, but there's another that would give me the power to saved a loved one and still be present on the earth.
Another thread in a long line of soul considering questions. How would you define a soul? Would you lose your personality if you sold it? Would you lose your life? How personal does it become? It would only really mean something if you believed in the after-life, right?
I will say no. My memory will hopefully live on, even if my body and/or spirit does not. There are just somethings too important to sell, my integrity being one of them. I may not be a rich man, and so the one thing I have and own is my word which I do not lightly give. If my soul is my memory or word - no.
for a loved one i will do anything... but anything short of that i wont
I would never traid my soul for a wish. because then the wish wouldnt mean anything. and i would be the one who messes up or whatever. so no i wouldnt.
if it were three wishes i would do it because on the first i would ask for my soul back...
Lol. Wow. That's a good plan. And on the 3rd, you'd wish for more wishes?
I would, well I have but not to the Devil but to my Magister...
I think to give up ones Soul is to be truly damned and without any hope who would want that.
no way. Nothing material on this plane is worth even chancing who you are. Call it soul or whatever.
most lives are damned anyways..so why not be happy and do what makes You that way
Damned? by who? Your only as damned as you accept you are.
I know what I am..And what makes me...me..and i accept i am damned
Dont have a soul to give.. Army took mine and if they wanted me to have one then they'd have re-issued me one
lol br. Hmm can someone be happy without a soul? thats a question. Might not be a good one, but ill leave it at that.
you do not own your soul, you only inhabit it. if we owned are soul we wouldn't have to worry about heaven or hell...
Thats true Doru, but why not live your life as you wish? if that means selling your soul, so be it
who's worried? i suppose it again falls into your beleif system.
True but just because i am a Satanist doesnt mean i worship the Devil..Or that i sold my soul to him..I signed my soul over to my Church
I think that those types of stories are set forth by a purpose of morality. In other words, "Be careful what you wish for, you might get it". Many people would wish for things thinking wholeheartily about themselves not worrying about the consequences their wish would have apon the rest of the world. Anything that changes sets forth a ripple in everything else. If you wonder what I mean by this, please reference the movie "Butterfly Affect" it shows a lot of what I am talking about, and also the movie "Bedazzled".
i agree... awesome movie and comments...
butteryfly effect... crazy...
Never seen it, but i know about the butterfly effect. Butterfly flaps its wings and you get rain instead of sunshine in times square. This probably has nothing to do with anything though. Bet it would if i saw the movie, huh?
I know all that about be careful what you wish for, the 3 fold karma law..I didnt wish for this so isnt worried none
Anyone who would sell their soul for a wish is a straight fool. What possible wish could equal their soul?
Unless, of course.. person's selling their soul to save another's. Then it's justified, perhaps.
Well, finally Wolfsbohne mentions the other Soul theads, all of which pointed to "it" as being your essential self. But Jenova and winterdarkmoon and several others who would "sacrifice" their souls for loved ones or for beliefs arrive at another aspect of the selling, which I think is another word for "submitting."
Does one have to sell thier own soul. I have several others I am willing to part with for a reasonable price. >;]
on an average day, no I wouldnt sell my soul. If I was deserate and it was an emergency with no other option then yeah, I guess I would.
If it meant my daughter's safety and health and happiness were secured I would in a heartbeat but not for any other would I sell my soul.
when one chooses to sell their soul for a single wish, i would undoubtedly spit in their faces. when you call forth a demon, nothing good will ever come from it. anyone who sells their soul to a demon, or anyone for that matter, is a complete fool. demons are just drooling at the thought of a idiotic mortal wishing to be so vain that they would sell their soul for a silly wish. demons will only twist and turn your wish so much, that it will become the demons wish, not yours. i know this because my friend, may she rest in peace, made the tragic mistake of summoning a demon. but she had no idea what she was doing. never the less, mortals, and immortals should refrain from contacting any demons.
I don't believe that a soul can be bought or sold. If it is truly our essence, our inner being, the basis of who we are then without it we cease to be.
Maybe a "Devil and Daniel Webster" type thing where you offer it up in advance but even that I find suspect.
now why would you even want to seel your soul for anything.....wait i would to save the life of my child.... but nothing else
I agree with Hollow. I wouldn't sell my soul unless to save someone that really ment something to me. Even then...
that's a good word BloodMother...submitting....I guess You could say that I submitted my soul to Another..Not a demon nor deity..Not the Devil..But to the Magister of my Church..When i signed the parchment i did so with an open mind..Of my own free will..I havent nor will i regret my decision...
I would not sell my soul for anything not even the ones I love. I know it sounds mean but if you think about it sooner or later you will lose that person any way And if you do save them how do you know that something worse will happen to them later that makes them suffer more.
i believe that if a person is willing to do what ever under handed thing it takes to achieve a goal, knowing it will hurt others, that they in essance have sold thier soul to the devil. also working for some one that is really shadey but you need the money,so in essance you sell your soul to the devil. but from what i understand the devil is all in my head. this is the worst place the devil could be...
I asked a question like this of my mother when I was younger. Her answer was 'Your soul isn't yours to sell. It belongs to God.'
So I suppose it depends on faith.
My answer is no, I wouldn't sell my soul because what good is my heart's desire without my soul?
If I believed in souls (I don't, in the literal sence you are referring to, as I find religion to be non-sence and anti-thought, etc etc.) I would give it up just to have people actually capable of spelling, and with a 3rd-grade knowledge of the English language. Fucking Hell!
i willingly gave my soul to nyc a long long long time ago. nyc is me and i am nyc. its my point of origin and i arose from the ashes there.
You cannot sell your soul. You only give into your weaknesses.
Hypothetically speaking, though, if I COULD sell my soul, what would I sell it for? Immortality? That'd be a big risk though, seeing as how the sun will explode eventually and the human race might not find a way to space travel en masse to another universe and find another planet to live on. Because, really, if you're selling your soul, that would imply that when you die, you're fucked....perhaps literally, who knows what your own personal hell is like. Anyway, asking for immortality would be like sticking it to the man, right? Because you'd never pay up on your end.
No, I wouldn't sell my soul. I tried when I was teenager, but I guess my soul wasn't shiny enough.
Wow of all the rehashed, impractical responses.
To sell a soul, one must, the seller being one, give themselves over to an idea.
Beethoven sold his soul when he became a legendary musician. Bill Gates sold his soul to something to make microsoft what it is. The greatest minds who have ever walked on this miserable rock, sold themselves on an idea. They gave themselves over completly They were remembered for their acts, and their deeds, because of their dedication.
That is what made them great, because they found a way to live their passion. I would gladly sell my soul, and inspire others to do the same in the quest for seeking out and living ones greatest passion. Rising above the death of mediocrity.
To sell your soul, is show your mastery. Give yourself over and be so given the potential of your giving. If you get what you give, then if you give your life to be great, then by gods be great, and sell yourself for your passions.
Thanks, I pride myself on my rehashed potatoes.
It sounds like it really just depends on a person's definition of selling your soul. Generally, selling your soul has negative connotations, but you sure sell me on wanting to sell my soul to something. Does that mean I just sold my soul to you?
In a fashion if you choose to look at it. You devoting time and energy to such discussions.
Putting passion and thought into your statements. You sold your soul in that moment to your own ego, attempting to bring about a point which walks a dual edge.
Yes you did to me for your passion in your answer, for your conviction of self.
You sold it to you for your own ego, to please yourself and what you desire by either trying to prove me wrong, or agreeing with me.
Your passion is the ticket, your devotion to your words the aim.
In a world where people are taught to be cattle, in a religious order which strives itself on being the best in mediocrity. Then you of course would be right. Where doing something that is devoted, and full of life and passion is evil. When it is sacrifice and dull growthless heaven that awaits, all for a spiritual stagnation.
Be a master of yourself, Command your passions and sell them as you would have them. Guiding you along your own path. Which is far more difficult then merely talking about it. Or slaving your life, your only life to a herd which neither cares, nor has any interest in you other then what you can do for it.
I take the passion, the life, the path untrod by all but me. My pain mine, my suffering, my hell. These things are mine because i give myself to my desires to be the best me that I can be. I give my soul to me. So thus having sold myself to myself, I remain unaffiliated and mine. But what of you?
That's a good question, guy. I have to admit that halfway through, with the paragraph that began with "In a world where..." I had the voice of the movie preview guy talk for you in my head. But nevermind that, because that has nothing to do with what you asked.
I am affiliated by choice and unaffiliated by my actions. (I wonder if that cancels eachother out. It probably doesn't matter.) I am Catholic due to a series of events that led me there, and yet I struggle with the whole...
You know what? This is going off topic. Message me if you'd like to continue this conversation.
To be on the topic, I wouldn't sell my soul to the Devil, to be specific. I hear he's kind of the bad guy. And that the rent in Hell is outrageous. Truly, truly outrageous. Unless you're a theistic Satanist, and then he's your guy to sell yourself to, I suppose. It's all in the perspective.
First part of your question: No I have never experienced a whatever proposing an exchanged. Second part of your question: I would in the end refuse.... I would be tempted perhaps in the beginning but would walk way in the end. Everythng has a price...... just how much you are willing to pay is the question.
I agree with LadyKristalynDarkstar. I don't think "selling your soul" involves bargaining with an entity of some sort. I think people who allow their weaknesses to take over (drug or alcohol addiction) sell their souls in a manner of speaking. But even they can be redeemed if they overcome those weaknesses.
*Blackreaper* loved your comment - ROFLMAO
