Can 2 souls live in one body ?? i really want to know , please tell me you veiws.

two souls? well i honestly dont think they can. i know more than one personality can but i dont know about souls.

ok i know they say you can be possessed by a spirit why not another soul?

I personality don't believe this is possible, but I do believe that an alternate* you can become you and you them through yours and there's dreaming.

To me, the soul is completely different from the spirit.
Two spirits could be able to inhabit a single physical body, through possession like you said... but I really don't think two souls would be able to.
I don't have any proof or examples but I really don't believe it's possible for two souls to be in a single body...
Why would another soul want to share a body with another soul anyway?

I would think that two souls would battle over a body until one of them won out and the other had to leave. There is not in my mind a way for them to inhabit the same body without warring with each other for control.

I doubt theres barely enough room in a human body for one soul to inhabit, let alone two; So no, I don't believe that two souls can live inside one body.

I am staring at a catalog of Books and reference papers printed about 20 years ago. Before the days of the internet. Do your own research, seek out your own understandings, and your own sources. What is provided by my statement is more then enough to get you moving in the right direction as there are about 10 or so books that list in detail the causes, effects and how to determine if it is a twin soul.

Hmm I think souls can be linked, but I can't really see two inhabiting one body without the person going mad. I could be wrong but I am disinclined to believe it.

I truly believe two things cannot habit the one thing. two souls i feel would be at constant battle between each other for power over the body. no i believe they cannot.

In my opinion it is physically and categorically impossible for 2 souls to inhabit one body. Hard enough for one to inhabit in all honesty. Thats my opinion and i'm sticking to it =]

I think that might fall under the category of split personality. I don't think souls are alive. I think it's a mind thing.

well. like others have said. two souls can not inhabbit the same body. for the simple reason. when another soul trys to enter the body which ever soul is stronger will win out and the weaker one will lose and then the body will decay from the turmoil that the stronger soul can cause when it takes over. for example how a demon possion can cause damage to the body over time.

its all interesting, and reading through these posts ive discovered things which i didnt previously know (after trapesing round the web and doing a bit of reading of course) however my personal opinion goes something like this:
1) only one soul may inhabit a body
2) possession is possibly the only acception, however, the possessive 'soul' or entity becomes dominant, acting as the only soul in the body and in control
3) i believe souls are linked i.e 'soul mates'
there is more but thats the bare bones of my beliefs

As part of a universal balance, a twin soul in some alternate dimension sounds great. If it were possible to have two, it might be interesting, but then it opens the door for even more souls, and is just too time consuming except for an occasioanl menage.

See, I say if you can have multiple twin souls all sharing the same body, but only can inhabit it at a time. I'd feel kind of weird inhabiting an alternate universes soul with them still there, and vice versa.

I don't think so even when people say that something is controling them they are not able to do anything to prevent it so they can not coexist.

I think that more than one soul can try to live in one body but in most cases poeple that feel that they live with more than one soul are most likely just feeling the memories of past life's. You can be any gender or any creature in theses lives. So maybe it's just two many memories overwhelming you or whom ever.

Wolfsbohne, I read your link and to me it really seemed so simplistic and yet not very detailed, maybe I just don't take to the idea because I am not pagan.

I don't see it being possible to have two souls, a soul seems like such a complete part of an individual that I have a hard time believing we need another.

pandorasbx65 - Didn't mean to dissappoint you. As I'm sure you know, I love to complicate things, so here goes.

If the twin souls inhabit a body in their own respective universes, the first step is to determine if there is such a thing as an alternate universe. According to other threads, users, and modern physics, the idea of an "alternate" or "parallel" universe is just silly. But lets say that it does exist, for the sake of argument alone. This would fall into the category of matter/anti-matter which cannot occupy the same space at the same time or both would disappear in a great flash of light.

So what does that tell us? Even if there were two souls that had been separated at their "birth", (each having qualities of the other but retaining the idea of polar opposites) they would not then be able to be incarnated into the same body because they would mathematically cancel each other out. This would pose the problem or question, can a body survive without a soul (because we have many, many people who will argue that obviously a soul can survive without a body, see the above explanation of what a twin soul is - so that question is irrelevant).

After all that bull.....my opinion is no, only one "soul" may inhabit one body at a time.

First is you, then comes the super-soul which is God and third is tramp spirits or ghosts which may invade you.

well... I honestly couldn't give you a real answer to this... but what I can give you is a few thoughts that come to mind when I think about this!

Split personalities is one of them
and a "demon who is half Human" is another.

these still don't technically count as two souls living in the same body

b/c well with the Demon half human a demon has no soul! the human does unless he or she sold it of courrse!

and as far as the split personalities well a part of me says yes that is the only way I can see that happeing b/c well when a change has accured from one character to another it is usually a dramatic change with many differences an entirely different person will stand before u.

but then the other part says well no this just isn't logical! (two sould one body?)

Two souls in one physical body?...there is a possibility if say the host is sharing his body with a live parasitic twin...~shrugs~...

i'm sure that reincarnation is not perfect so it is possible for there to be more then one soul... perhaps some multiple personality disorders arise because of this? but then again that's pure speculation

I would think this would be more along the lines of possession. Records indicate that two souls may share the same vessel, be it daemon or otherwise. But which of these souls would come out to greet, would be the question.

I don't think that would be possible at all. One soul one body, I mean mediums is one thing where a spirit can inhabit a body fro a short period but not a soul.

Two souls? I'm guessing this would haven something possilby to do with being 'possessed'. This really does depend on what you believe in. I don't believe someone can be possessed...

And as far as I know a human only has one soul and therefore I believe it isn't possible.

In my personal beliefs on the subject f can 2 souls take over 1 body yes i do think it can happen because when a soul is possessed you can not determine who possessed him first so who ever possessed him and they go into another human body structure and fight for the soul of the living yes i believe that can happen

I personally dont think so. I believe that, yes, people can be possessed by more than one spirit but that is not the same as a soul. Im not sure how to explain what I mean but I believe that the two are different and that the spirit requires less to inhabit a body while a soul requires more and the ability is out of the question. I could be wrong. I just dont believe in it.

I don't believe it is likely that two soul would occupy one body..However, I guess in the case of possession two souls may occupy a single body for a short time.

My concept of a soul is fixed in the core of a being..aligned with the consciousness so perhaps a second soul can temarary align with the consciouness of a person(channeling)but pure possession I think is not possible.

Honestly I don't think that's possible. I mean there would be 2 different people. Some people say that when someone acts a certain way that they act like a different person or something but I think it's just where our soul is changing.
