How can someone tell what their past life is? Do you think you know what your past life was? Do you feel like you were someone powerful and divine, or perhaps just a servant?

What do you think your past life was?

I feel that in different situations, that your past life emotions or personality will come out.

Haven't you ever felt drawn to something or someone for no apparent reason....I believe that is your past life coming out.

I guess it would be the deja-vu feeling you get when you visit a place you've never gone to before, or see a person you've never met before but you feel that you know them.. it's possible that you've gone to that place in your past life or met that person in your past life. Or you could have yourself hypnotized to explore your past lives.

A premonition or a dream, that tells you a lot when you have those. Some are not blessed in knowing what their past is though.

There are many ways to tell whether you have had a past life or not. Sometimes things come to you in dreamscapes, sometimes you remember places that you can't explain, but the most common way would be to undergo hypnotic regression to find out if you have had past lives or not.

If hypnotic regression is your chosen path, be warned, it is not without it's dangers. Some people will not only remember what they experienced during the regression, but it will also open a dorrway to any other experiences they may have had in their past life/lives.

I know this from perosnla experience and often have visions of my past lives (of which I have many and I believe that most people have at least 1).

When I was curious a few years ago I asked the question of myself in meditation/relaxation and was given some insight.

I have also been told by a psychic medium about a previous life.

Personally I think the only way of proving such things is the way the information 'feels' when you get it.

I certainly would'nt pay good money to find out...but that's just me lol

I have many , I am an old so just as my little girl is. My boys not so much. I guess I would call them new souls even if thats not quite right. They have just not been around as long.

My last life, All I will say is that I was not a very nice person and that I am paying for it in this life. I am paying for all of my misdeeds and people know it. I meet a soul that I have wronged in that life now and then and they know it right off weather they relize it or not. They more then likely dont know why they dislike me but I do.

I think you could tell by how you feel about things and your personality but other than that I couldn't tell you.

i think i once lived on a plantation back in the late 1800's I always ave a reacuring dram about it.. Very vivid very real to me.. So i tend to think it was some kinda past life memory...

I'm undecided whether I believe in reincarnations or not, but I sorta think I was a cat. I am always told I'm catlike with how I more or my mood.

I think that if anyone believes in this they should find someone who is really educated in finding out how to see what your past lives were and how they are affecting your daily life now. Sylvia Browne is someone who does this kind of thing as many of you know. I would trust her opinion over my own thoughts and over someone who randomly claims they can channel.

I have learnt over my short years that a general idea of what you were in a past life is in those things your passionate about in history.

Such as if your strongly drawn to the roman empire and a particular time during that era such as the gladiators. Or you feel a strong connection to WW2 aircraft there is a good chance you were a pilot or mechanic during that time.

Even things you fear such as heights could mean that you died falling, etc.

As for me I don't believe I was divine, powerful or anyone in particular in history.

However I am drawn to Tutenkarmen (I know it isn't spelt right), I always feel a deep sense of mourning & great loss, when I see his death mask. So for me that tells me I lived in this time and perhaps was a servant to the young king.

I'd love to learn to tap into my past lives. All I know is that I am at home in the forest ( grow up in a city) and the medieval weapons seem to be very natural in my hand. I can pick up thes weapomns and know exactly how to use them well even if it's the first time I have ever touched it

The three time periods i'm most drawn to are Ancient Egypt, Medieval/Renaissance, and the 1950's. Whether that has any bearing on my past lives I don't know, but I would love to find out for sure.

I have dreamed about mine, when me and my wife has done a web search on it I have been able to describe something before it shows up.

You can meditate ot do a spell to reveal a past life.

Spells work fine, so does meditation. If some thing comes up in a dream like a pyramid or what not then research up on egypt to see if you can't unlock something in your mind, perhaps a memory.

I have enough trouble remembering what I did yesterday let alone my past lifes… lol

I have from time to time dreams or visions … and some places set me off like iv been there before.. and around the world… my friends say I have built in GPS…. I think im in tune with the land more than most being a witch.
I also find vampire life style persons even if there not dressed up, dark natured.. im writing about them in my journals… might even make a book one day… im learning to write more as I haven’t till now bothered lol

I agree with Tamari. From what I have gathered, every person and/or thing in your current life was there in your past lives. You are always drawn to those who are familiar to you, you feel like you have known them forever, even though you maybe be meeting them for the first time all over again.

i wear a ring that i found in a cave in Ireland. it was the 1st time i had ever been there in this life. the ring was down in the dirt a good 2 inches and could not be seen but i walked to the very spot where it was and uncovered it. i knew right where it was.i knew the ring because i had one made that is its twin years before i made the trip. to this day i still have both rings. the one i had made is now worn by my room mate and i wear the one from the cave..

oh and when the two are put side by side you can not tell the diffrence between the two of them and the one was made from nothing other then my memory.

I am not sure about mine...but my mom said that hers was Egyptian times and she was some sort of princess. She has always been fascinated by Egyptian culture and any pics she sees or whatever, she knows the place like she has been there before.

I don’t agree with menerfecious on the subject of hypnotist ( not a personal attack on you mate) … I find hypnosis only works with minds that are susceptible to suggestion, I have studied the phenonimum and know it’s dark secret, methods and design.
So a moldable mind is helped to believe the dreams as real or worse suggested and reinforced by the hypnotize to ensure more business.
Ether way your belief is invented and often proven wrong, thus making a mockery of past lifes.

I am not sure that "past lives" are real. I mean I do not believe that we are born over and over. I am not saying that it doesn't happen, but just no proof of it.

You know this is a tough question. Unless you are willing to do research to confirm things if you can because in many countries if you go way back some of the records have been destroyed in mishaps. Ireland is like that so you have to research through parishes. Also it is a belief but it seems to me one that is growing.

I have special affinities for things, not exactly deja vu but a feeling of having been there before or an attraction way beyond curiosity. Having known a number of psychics during my lifetime, Sylvia Borwn is not one I would go to but to each their own. Most often people find out from readings but they can have a pretty high percentage of error. People remember via hypnosis sometimes. I have done that and remembered flashes of things but I am hard to hypnotize. There are guided types of regressions where you aren't exactly hypnotized as well.

Spiritualists feel that if you are evolved to a certain stage you will remember but most don't because they come into complete a task and if they remember all these other lives it sort of interfers with one's goals unless memory is necessary or you are that evolved through many lives. This is all belief of course. In my channeling group our guide/teacher said that upon death you had to die without fear. Perhaps that is true or its not but some have recollections of things and others don't...for whatever reasons.

I have heard past lives can be explored using regresive hypnosis. Also have heard that mediums and psychics may also be able to do this.

I have not bothered to explore this using these resources, but there are times that I do feel as if I have lived a past life.

Lately, I have been experiencing strange dreams of topics that have no reflection of me, my experiences, or my personality. I have also been getting multiple bouts of deja vu. Possibly due to similar experiences that might be related to a past life experience.

That, or I am getting stressed out by my pending parenthood, and this is my mind rebelling against the stress...

I have a reason to believe that in my past life I was a Witch. There is a large number of crows wich are getting attracted to my window constantly although there is never any food on it, and they scream like death, and there is this issue of every black cat aproching to me on the street like it knows me, although I never pet those cats in my life before, and they feel very friendly around me, and the last most serious issue, is that, there is always something bad(harmfull) happening to the ppl wich are around me, and wich are concetrated on me for no reason, with out me even looking at them. I believe I have some of that Witch's energie still with me in this incarnation. The most interesting thing is that it is getting stronger and stronger! To be honest, it feels like my previous life memory incarnation is slowly awakening, more and more, as more I am leading the way of a Wiccan in this life. I believe that the Wica religion is stimulating my previous lifes incarnation memory. It is an exciting period in ones life.

I read a book called messages from Micheal and in that they were saying that we live so many lives and that rich and famous is the last life we live. and that most people who say that they were say cleopatra in their last life are lying because being that famous would have been a last life. I think a lot of what we did in other lives comes out in dreams

I think that I was some sort of excluded soul. who in this life reveals itself through my rebellious way of being. I shout out everything I feel, I have curiosities and concerns.
But who knows .... it`s just a supposition ....

I saw a medium that told me that every person we are drawn to had some sort of significance in a past life. Astrology can also tell us a little about past lives.

I believe that when you feel very strongly about something or fear something very strongly, then it is tied to a past life.

For instance, a particularly scary way of passing away or cutlery for example...past life stuff. And irrational fears too. Bad behaviors and negative behavior can be stuff from past lives that you are letting in this one that you are supposed to overcome and move past.

Also, People you meet and immediately love or hate. Past life stuff.

Oh and wounds. If you have a mark on you, say a birthmark. It is supposed to be where you were wounded pretty badly in a past life, perhaps even where you were fatally wounded. If it's on the outside of an arm or leg, then it is on it's way out and has been around awhile, and if it's on the inside, it's a fresher wound, as in not many lives ago. I believe that is how it goes. And you may carry these marks around for a few lives, especially if it's fresher. I have a birthmark on the top of my wrist, a round brown spot. I wonder if I was stabbed there? I don't like knives, really sharp ones that is.

I don't believe any one knows exactly what there past life was but alot of people have a feeling or connection of what there past life could have been better never the full details.

The idea of your own personal past life and how to learn about it can go far deeper then dreams and meditation. At the same time, some tells are quite simple. Many people in the field of psychology do believe that investigation of past lives through hypnotherapy is sometimes the only option when there is no event to explain a severe phobia or irrational fear. Of course one should always look into every aspect of this lifetime before crediting a phobia to one's past. But when there is no other rational explanation, it is not unheard of.

I have done past life regression, and have seen bits and pieces in dreams. I think that the mind must be receptive to that kind of thing, you must either believe in it or not.

I firmly believe in reincarnation and believe that I have had past lives. I would love to do a regression to unveil them as I only get limited glimpses at odd times.

I have had dreams about mine, and I've done past life regression meditations. I've also consulted the Akashic records through meditation and free form journaling, mostly for healing purposes. I have found that many current life issues that I have experienced stem from past life issues that still need healing. I am working on healing etheric scars in my subtle body due to these past life issues, which are also related to problems that I have with how I store chi in my body. How can you tell?
I think it can come in many ways, most of the time the realization may come quietly.
In the form of being strongly drawn to something or creature.
In the deja vu feeling.
If in your past life you were a creature, you could naturally exude those characteristics...
Sometimes its in dreams or premonitions...
Or that quiet voice that speaks with gentle surity.

I believe it's different for all people, the knowledge and realization and how they come about it.

But that's the beautiful thing.

I don't really know what my own past life was. Sometimes a person can be drawn to something or somebody and it could of had something to do with a past life or like deja vu. I believe there is also something called past life regression where you get hypnotized and can see your past life.

Try face-dancing in the mirror. It's scary as shit but really neat. You can meet some interesting fellows there.


Just soften your gaze to where your blinking is at a minimal (Much like reading auras if you're familiar), and keep your eyes sitting on your forehead usuing your perephrial vision to watch the changes. Do this in a dark bathroom with a candle off to the side.


Some say the faces encountered here are or could be past lives. Food for thought at any rate.

I have a Book that has helped me with determining mine! it's called Discovering your past lives... or something really close to that... in there it explains different techniques to use to call up the past lives... meditation is a huge one, hypnosis is another but that one you must be willing to be put under... most people can't be because they are not able to calm their minds first... if you feel hypnosis is a good one for you then you can meditate first to help with it.... meditation is a wonderful thing!!!! lol ... anyway... something else it mentions is the tie between your lives... there is always going to be something, whether a smell, noise, person, situation, etc that will remind you of these things.... if you notice it keep it in mind while you meditate it will help a little more... lately I've been having some very interesting things happening... I've been having a lot of visions lately... some have been more like premonitions but the ones that strike me as something else I have meditated on and found that I have died in a car accident in another life... one of my recent ones but still another life!!!!! I truely and firmly believe in "past lives".
I feel that my husband & I were together in a past life, just because of the way we were brought together in this life. Knowing the instant we were together that he would be the person I would marry.
I believe alot of it comes to you in your dream state...Before I met my husband I always dreamed of one man with me throughout different situations, I didn't ever realize it was him till I finally met him.
I met him when I was 14. He was moving out of state so we didn't stay together. But something brought us back together when I was 17.
I think each person will have their own interpretation of their 'past lives'....

I was taught ages ago that with the right meditation and focus, you can view your past lives. I suppose one could consider this a bit like self hypnosis but meditation has a more conscious feel than being hypnotized.

That being said, if your the 400th person claiming that your past life included Vlad Tepes, then I suggest you meditate harder or not watch as many movies first :)

I suppose that one of them could be right but all 400 can't. It gets back to a big problem with past life regression...most people end up catering to their desire to be someone famous by believing they were in a past life.

I believe I have glimpsed past lives of mine through meditation, including once occasion which yielded a vision of life as a snake, which was very believable in it's realism.
Go into as much of a trance as possible, and try to envision your soul and the places it has been, ie: which bodies it has been in and the environment in which it lived at that time.
I find this method works for me anyway. One must keep an open mind, for it is entirely possible that this may be your first life as a human, and you might see confusing images.

Oh yes, and I agree with FelixFelix. Most people, I've noticed, seem to claim to have been someone famous in a past life. That is extremely unlikely to be true, and they say it because they desire to have some sort of claim to fame in their current life. Of course the possibility always exists, but not in the huge volume of people who do think they were once someone famous. Chances are you were probably a water beetle, a hedgehog or a lizard or something :p

I have tried to learn how to read past lives but never could do it. However I do have an interesting story of how I learned of my past lives. At least it is how I believe. Went to a psyic fair and was milling around at all the booths when I found one that said you could get your past lives read. So decided to give it a shot. I had placed the money in a slot and the gentleman told me to give him about 20 mins. So I continued looking around. I started watching this woman doing tarot readings and noticed never once did she accept money. (always an important factor in my mind.) I was standing a bit away watching and a gentleman walked up closer to her booth and was watching as well. She finished her reading.. cleansed the air with chimes and then said whos next. The gentleman stepped forward and went to sit when she goes "No I believe she was next" and pointed to me. I declined respectfully saying that I was just observing. She insisted that I sit and take her reading. She wanted no money but needed to speak with me. I sat and gave no information as I listened to her. Throughout the reading she kept saying that she knew me but couldnt place it. Needless to say she hit me right on the head with the reading. By the end I thanked her and went to leave when she remembered. She said we were nuns at a convent who were martyred together becuase we were trying to express our beliefs. I chuckled as I am far from a nun. I gathered the past life reading and rushed back to work. While reading it at work it too said that I had many past lives in which I was a martyr for my beliefs. One of which being a nun. Hmm go figure.

I think there are two ways to get glances at what your past lives were.

1. Deep meditation, maybe even dreams or flashbacks to things you don't remember ever doing.

2. Just simply remembering them.

Sometimes you can get a clue or two about your past life if you just examine yourself. What are your qualities, what are your skills? Things of that sort.

Deep meditation is an excellent way. Another is for someone to hypnotise you or a deeper form of meditation as self hypnosis. Must be careful with what is asked and suggested while you are in that state. Power of suggestion is very strong.

Most people who's past lives are important or exciting people are exhibiting their own feelings of inadequacy in this incarnation....

However my wife have expereinced a number of her past lives, and while interesting they were effectively normal people, which encourages me to believe in them as real....

however investigation on the "details" of the past lives has proven difficult! (she is still trying to identify the temple in Dachara with a pool I think!)

I myself do not actively choose to access my past lives, however I do instead practice accpetance that from time to time they will intrude and when they do past experience is trying to stop me repeating a mistake.

Everyone has memories, and they help us live our lives having learnt from mistakes in our life, I try to also allow my processed memorys from previous lives and my spiritual knowledge to help me in the same way....

Sometimes this means I don't exactly know why I'm doing something, but I try to trust what my instincts are telling me (which is tricky I can tell you!)

Everyone has had a past life, weather you believe i them or not. I remember parts of my past life, I was someone with power, although I was murdered by someone close, I have even recently found someone from my past life

It is said that certain souls will find each other through time...keep finding each other.

I went to high school with a friend of mine that tried past life regression. He believed himself to be a Japanese airplane fighter. I believe he is correct. He learned the old and new language of Japanese within 3 years. Which is nearly unheard of. The old language is quite difficult. Now he lives in Japan, at least to my last knowledge, and is a translator.

Like a dream journal, people should keep one for when travelling or even while watching the Discovery, Histor, and even National Geographic channels for when a certain area, city comes on and you can be just so drawn to it.

Write down places like that, and then do some research into them, might be surprised.

I do already do this. Since I tend to have thoughts and do so much writing. I tend to carry a notebook with me at all times. Anytime something strikes me in some form then I write it down and often reflect back into what I have written.

I agree the people that do past life regressions seem to be the same people who cannot get Theripist licenses.I have had friends get great depression from a so called past life regressionist.Pass life workers are certified and they are mostly legit,Be weary of Past life.Ask yourself what is the purpose.

I would love to know my past life but i can't figure it out but i do feel like maybe i was actully once an animal... its just that all animals come up to me and trust me or are really friendly with me very quickly... For one reason that my friends cat is mean to every-one but me he's was fine with me about two hours after meeting him.. i dunno just me being weird again

When and if anyone does go to someone to assist with regression, be very careful by not giving any hints as to any eras in history or places, things, people - they can grab that and use it and be so fake in their 'help' by taking advantage... something to research in detail before going to anyone.

I think our subconscious tells us about our past lives. At times i get these weird feelings like my subconscious is trying to tell me something about a certain situation or action.

I had a physic tell me that the only past life she could see was back in the 1400's in Europe somewhere...She had said that I was some sort of Scholar or Scribe....

But that was a really long time ago...My question is, where have I been for the 500 years inbetween?....lol....And why did it take so long for me to get back?...

That's a good question, where do we go in between? Hmm, maybe we wait for the time frame when we will have the best chance to accomplish what we need to do?? I read a book once, where everyone was in a sort of suspended animation. One guy woke up before his time. Well anyway, maybe your life was so rough it took you that long to recuperate.

past lives are nothing more then thoughts brought to you through dreams --- people just have to have something to believe in other then death to keep them self've sane .

i agree, dreams do tell a lot. not to mention there are tons of spells out there to figure you past lifes out. i've spent my fair share of time trying to discover my past lives out and luckly i have, although not all are as pretty as i would like to say..

I don't think you can. Probably to be kept secret less you get a flashback.
