Years ago, this was my first musing in this forum, "What brought you here?"
[Me? It was a piece of writing.] As the roster of people here changes so much, I think the questions still relevant: "What brought you here?"
Well i think i came here in the attempt to find like minded people who i can have an educated and intellectual conversation on certain topics that most people are relativly ignorant about
I am here for more answers on what I am and help living with the changes I've experienced. And to make new friends with like minded individuals.
Well my niece TheeLadyHawk introduced me to the site because it offers all the things I am interested in and once i got here I stayed because of all the information and people who were/are kind to me and did not judge me as for my beliefs and ways of life.
I belong only to this site I guess I am an addict to VR LOL Yet, everyone here that I have met and made friends with on the site and in person have always been real people and that is very refreshing I have brought many to the site and they as I am are still hooked.
We thank Cancer and all his Admins. for having such a great site. ;)
Well, I don't normally like profile type websites but this site seems to be the most open-minded when it comes to people expressing themselves and showing parts of themselves that may not be so easily elsewhere.
Even though i have been off and on this site for a few years now, i still manage to come back and for me, it's simply being able to share in my experiences, thoughts, and dreams with others and hopefully build some friendships and learn from one another since the topics are relatively great in forums and hearing responses of others and their viewpoints is an enjoyment for me.
I'm here for the goth chicks .
Finding proof of the existence of real vampires would be a bonus .
I find the goth subculture appealing. I got here, and learned of the subgenre of goth.. that was a bonus.
i came here quite by accident , i was looking for a vampire chat room and found this place.
i joined because there were people who practiced many things i do , and i enjoy some of the new friends i made
Mistress vamp, I find your terminology to be humble. You state, " others who share my practice." that is absorbable. I do appreciate articulation. concise articulation at that.
I brought a book called To speak in lifeless tongues from a second hand book shop and scribbled in the front cover was vampirerave.com . I wanted to look it up for years before i actually came across it reasearching an essay on fictional vampires and how they have influenced gothic fashion. So i clicked on it and found a weath of knowledge on psi vamps , and the forums were full of information and peoples views . I feel i,ve really strengthend my path by being here , The people are always secondary to information , but i feel more at ease talking with people here , about subjects id never talk about even my own family . I feel i was ment to buy the book and look up VR , i,am comfortable here amongst other like minded people .
1)knowledge
2)like-minded individuals. (yes, I know that's said by pretty much every to every other person.)
I drifted here while doing research on vampires two years ago, and I stuck around because there was so much in the database to read.
What brought me here was the lure of people not judging me. I have found that even on sites like this people will judge you when they do not even know you based on preconceived misguided false notions. I hardly trust anyone as it is and the few on VR that do have my trust will have my trust.
Well before I was aware of my nature, I had always harbored a deep fascination with all things pertaining to Vampires. I had stumbled upon this site more than once back about a year before I joined...and then I finally became a member in 06...I met my husband on here and some wonderful people...I made a wise choice ;)
A friend brought me here but my spirit belonged here
I have been drawn here I always always have hard time fitting in because I always seen things and feel things well here I am me i am learning more about all walks here and everyone is accepting no matter what our walk is
and people here coming together and sharing keeps you coming back for more
As my alter ego stated was brought here by my niece, yet, it was long before the Houses and Covens came about. Since then VR has grown so much and I have made many friends on here and also have had the pleasure of meeting many of them in the real world, and not just a face or writing on a computer. LOl
So I am an Addict and this is th eonly site I belong to . This Rave has so much to offer how can we get bored.. ;P
Blood is tasty.
Vampires are (used to be) cool.
Esoteric knowledge is fun.
I can associate with a greater percentage of interesting people, than one tends to meet in the mundane (note: proper use of the word.)
Note on (used to be) cool:
Popularity is no longer cool... you can be one or the other, and unfortunately... vampires are too popular to be cool.
I came here at ImagesinWords suggestion. She know I had taste for the dark side and occult type things and told me about this great site she'd joined. I thought it would be a good place to do some research for my writing and to explore the talents of others.
I found it from MIRC and wanted to connect with foreigners who were into the Gothic life style and didn't mind discussing topics that usually people find as weird or uninteresting.
What make me join VR, was Vampires existence within our planet. From Romania to The Americas. For some, a legend, for others, a bad dream, and for most: reality.
I am here because Cancer pays me well and the women aren't bad :)
lol
I have always had a dark side. I have always loved Vampires. I was researching Vampires when I happened upon this site 3 years ago. I found it a great place to meet people with similar interests, and haven't left since. I have made some good friends and now I always have a place to go and am never lonely.
I have been here so long that i cant remember, but i think it was the love of the darkness and to find like minded people, this is a truely wonderful place to be, ever changing and interesting!
At first it was because of an old friend mentioning the site to me, after a while it became about the people and just the experience as I moved up in the levels and made Sire and Coven Master my goals. I love it here, and I'm glad I listened.
Great expectations and the love for dark things, though I think this notion is metaphorical - is all that I am seeing throughout this entire thread.
*Chuckles* I am here to waste time, to act stupid, answer as many questions as humanly possible within my range, and condescend those of whom do not use common sense asking stupid questions.
In a nutshell...
for hot female vampires.
but i end up talking about anime or history.sigh.
Nah, for me its hot female pirates.. She knows who she is.
I was searching for friendship with people like myself. Everyone so far has been very welcoming.
I came to mock Vampire Posers but fell in love with them instead. Hard not to.
.. it's easy, believe me.
As I said earlier, I came her because of writing, Sunshines writing as it happens.. an everytime I see the code change at the top of the page as pages change, I think of her. [dead fit.]
I stumbled across this site by accident five years ago. A few months later I had an accident at work. I didn't work for almost three years. I passed the time rating profiles and database entries and occassionly by talking to people I met here.
Hm, well for this lass, I came here to seek help, and also to find what my dreams, mainly my past lives were in dreams, the meanings. I came here to engage conversation, and have a fonding with intelligect to one another, and also to enjoy the soceity here. It's a very nice place, indeed.
I must admit that I came here because I was sure it would be full of nonsensical, crazy people. LOL! They are always so interesting. It is full of above mentioned, but I never thought that I would find so many artistic, incredibly intelligent people as well. Intelligence is hard to come across where I am from.
I have met many soul mates here. I am thankful for this site.
xoxo
I found this site a few years ago while looking for vampire sites. I had it in my bookmarks for a long time before I made a profile.
What brought me here was the fact that I wanted a place to belong to. I figured I would make a profile and see what happend, I just didnt know I would stick around for 2 and a half years so far and find some the most important people in my life :)
I stumbled on here by accident, a lonely and lost twelve-year-old, and (cliche as it sounds) found my true self here. Back then I knew I wasn't quite like the other kids, I was called a witch and a vampire behind my back because they would see me manipulating a pendulum with my mind during free time in class...I was just bored and thought it was cool I could do that, lol. But after finding this site and the like-minded people that dwell within, I realized these "insults" weren't insults at all, but who I am. Now, five years later, I still stalk these pages, knowing most of my confidence and identity is indebted to the information and people here.
like minded ppl
an old friend who used to be here
knowledge
Markus, stated
"... for most; reality." Could that be a base for a thread topic?
I am curious if those who profess to be vampires, are under the concept that they are a majority, and if so, doesn't that make them "mundane".
I was part of a lesbian group and was introduced to this site by LuckyOne.... Nice lady...
I was just researching my interests, and I came across this site. It was significantly smaller then, but still as friendly . I even met my husband of 3 years on here!
I was finding for a Vampire Poem to send to my sister, and I came across this site, and signed up. It's changed my life, I swear. Hooked ever since.
I came here so that I could meet a different kind of crowd that has some of the same interest that I have.
I was online doing research about vampires and the Nephilim, and I ended up here.
I would have to say curiosity and to explore another dimension of myself. I was drawn here and I didn't understand why. I do feel I understand why I was drawn here as I have found like minded people that share similar points of view on life and spiritual matters... Which in turn have helped me to develop... that and I have always been attracted to vampires so I have learned a lot more about vampires.

Three years and some handful of months ago, a random stranger IMed me on AIM. He shot me a link and said I'd probably enjoy the site. Upon a quick once over of what VampireRave had to offer a member, I quickly created an account and allowed the addiction to get a hold of me.
What's kept me here for all these years is my fascination of all things vampire. That, and the seriously awesome people I've managed to meet. I found the site to be something fresh and new compared to other social networking sites. The Status System and Society System intrigued me, and it was enough to keep me coming back for more day after day.
I was looking for a goth chatroom and stumbled across VR... yay bonus vampires was my first thought..
I am still here because I enjoy interacting in the main forum and reading the database.
A little over a year ago a friend, LDR, introduced me to this site. At first I ws uncertain about getting involved in an online chat forum but this place seemed to be very open minded and no one really seemed to judge you at the time. It was really like a place that I could be me without having to worry about a bunch of junk and BS. My love for the unknown and the darker side of things made joining the site that much easier as well.
To find those like me and to become biten, and taste blood.
My husband!
I first met him on another site called GothScene.
He was very active here on VR at the time and told me to come here and set up a profile so I did.
I was inducted into his coven at that time and that is where we first started getting to know each other.
As you probably figured out already all went well and a year later we were married.
what brought me here was well me searching for like minded people who could share there learning's with others. and well the wealth of knowledge i found here was great.
A friend from another site suggested this site to me and after much pondering I made a profile. I was extremely happy to find others who I can talk freely with on many things and I do not feel like the outsider.
An old friend of mine introduced me here and. Well I'm glad I decided to stick around. 3 years later and I have some wonderful friends here
