It seems mankind is always poised on the brink of world disaster; we face "the end of the world as we know it" scenarios constantly, don't we? Threats of nuclear war, supernova, giant meteors, planet dispursement, alien invasion, howls of doomsday from every pulpit in the civilized world, disease, famine...So what if the end came tomorrow? I often ask myself if I would really want to survive an apocalypse or just die in it to avoid all the horrors that would occur during and after. I think I'd want to survive, though I'm sure its a purely instinctual decision. Considering all the horrors of a post-apocalyptic world, what are some of your thoughts? Make up your own minds as to what "the end" would be like.
well i wouldn't mind living in a post apocalyptic world,no government less people and absolute freedom, heh it makes me want to just fire some nukes and destroy most of the world to achieve that.
It would really depend on what happened to bring about the end of the world. If I had to do something awful to survive or something then probably not. Then again I would love to be queen of the wasteland and have the earth to myself. Even if I would go mad after a while which I think everybody would. But if I did go mad I wouldn't know anyway so I suppose yea. I would want to survive.
Perhaps people are over grandiose with their ideas as to what a post apocalyptic world would be like. I suggest that we delve back into history... the wars, the plagues, the fall out. Who would want to live through that? When people are forced to cannibalism to survive being starved out as a military tactic or living with mutilations for radiation. There are so many desolate pictures of humanity in a non-post apocalyptic world, so that the mere idea of magnifying those conditions with no light at the end of the tunnel seems utterly horrifying. Who would want to survive and who wouldn't be begging for a quick death?
I have a lot of viewpoints when it comes to these issues and not sure how this is going to sound to some people here but an idea of mine from all these "doomsayers" esp the religious overtoned ones....I almost believe that these "end of days" was a 'seed' type of thing planted into the minds of society to keep people on the edge thinking we better get our lives straight before it's too late type of deal before the end comes and this has been preached over and over and over throughout the years. A scenerio at the end of the bible of how things are supposed to play out may be adding fuel to the fire of idiots out there that may want to contribute to creating this scenerio to happen should something not go according to biblical planning. I have often pondered things like this before. That way the Christians that do take their religion to the extremes can say.."see we told you but you didn't want to listen to us and now God is coming to judge!" lol
The Mayans that are around today said that the calendar wasn't signifying the end of times according to NASA as well.
The world does what it does naturally. I don't believe there's anything mystical about it lol
Would i want to die or live through such an ordeal....actually it wouldn't matter to me either way if i lived or died. I think i would still see the outcome no matter which choice i made.
I would want to survive. I'm sure if the world ever faced apocalypse that some people could reform society over time. I would want to ensure that was possible.
The world will do what it's supposed to do. as far as a government-less society...well, most native americans did that well didn't they? it was simple...chief...counsul....period.
i almost think it would make things easier. political parties are irrational and the US is divided as it is.
for those that say "who would want to live in a world like that", i want you to think...what of all the times in history when things were dismal indeed? i think that such an event would at least weed out the weak and allow the strong to survive...altho life wouldnt be nearly as much fun.
and for those that think there would be no govt, no leaders....that would last only until someone that had a single follower decided to be a leader or a govt.
true the american indians had only a chief...or some tribes had a council...how is that not a govt? how is a chief different from a king?
i dont think there will be an "apocalypse" but if im mistaken, i think i know enough about survival to be able to do so.
~W~
I pray that it happens . It would be nice to have the world reborn . Then we can make it the way we want it .
hypathetically, I would form a tribe, and repopulate a small portion of the earth, I would gather as many professions as possible, and keep fundimentalist religious people out.. let them find their own people..
Apocalypse may have many reason... post apocalypse our race survive is not sure... if that srvive in space.. they have to come back and again their life goes to stone age with all changes...
I will give idea of apocalypse in each post. In this:
Suppose...
the plates of earth become so thick that it gives the magnetic pulses back to the core...
this will create total apocalypse...
this will lead the plates torned by antigravity and pulled out of gravity of earth automatically and this will lead total carpet of plates over earth is bundled to go away from earth's sphere ... and this will happen at the speed of earth moving in sun's orbit... this will collapse all h bond of water and water will be dried and total tectonic plates will go to space and will move in orbit of the earth and later this will turn to earth's new moon with no oxygen and no water. coz on this moon no lava to give bio-chemical pocess ad oxygen alread burnt in the sphere of earth and brought down to earth.
again the earth and its lava naked to evolution age...
Again the fear of ice globe and again cayano bacteria will emerge to form oxygen again which completely erased from planet earth and its two moons.
qand again life will be on caravan and again there will be uch billion years to take te life become active on earth in human shape... till that may possibe that the human found its land on any other planet...
In the Hindu Scriptures, it's stated that the world will end in fire and ice (water). The end of days. Frankly, it will be beautiful. Honest truth. It will not happen in my lifetime, but someday it will. And it will be beyond words... Thinking about the pain it'll cause, I'm just glad I won't be around, but beauty wise, ahh well, too bad. I'm hoping we'd be sucked into a black hole or something. Isn't that quick and painless? *sighz*
Possibly the end would be caused by poloution putting the natural cycles out of sync, motivated by greed to keep finances ticking over .... money
By Surviving the Apocalypse there will be some rules. If you survive, this is the main rule, only one kid for family. You know that now there are so many humans, that is insane to even think about how that happened. (to kinky for VR) LOL Well, I will be a leader of the survivor and I will be sure that my clan, will have food and water all the time. Cool!!!
The stock market soars, but joblessness continues, widening a divide to pre-industrial states. Fiefdoms are being built. What separates us from the wealth hoarders in those times?
Imagine an apocalypse creeping in like a cat. It enters not with nuclear blasts, unbeatable viruses that boil our skin or merciless hordes who eat our babies, but with seeping poverty and disillusionment evidenced by a widening divide.
Thanks for spreading your holiday cheer BM... now I have to ponder if we are economically on a road to apocalypse as well as all the other physical creations of such doom.
lol. Sorry, I'd prefer zombies, too. I love a good old-fashioned zombie. We can dispatch them with a quick shotgun blast to the head. Easy solutions. But what if we're being turned into wage slaves who think we have power, but we really don't and our struggle for survival and the misinformation we are fed prevents us from working together to change our status? What if we're really the zombies already and we just don't know it?
Am not sure I would care either way........Why worry about what could or could not happen and How one would survive....Either you will or you wont...Nature will rule the day... The strong shall survive and the weak shall die....such is the rule of life.....time will always tell the end results....I do feel the religious nuts (christians and otherwise) utilize the end times as a way to get people to fall in line to their ways and their rule or you will go to their Hell......But as to surviving the Apocalypse we shall see :P
zazz, you make a good point about some philosophies, religions and theories encouraging people to put off action because their "real" life begins after death.
The "wait and sees" sort of fall in line behind those wishing for the end, imo.
Better to take action. Think now. Take a stand.
I have to say I think the religious writings that have been misinterpreted and were only about Rome in a long ago time would have no effect on me as far as thinking of survival. I am older so quite frankly I don't care if I survive or not. What I care about is a better place for my children and theirs. Hopefully if something happens which I believe will be caused either by the blunders of man or some cosmic agency, such as an asteroid striking the planet, they will have a plan to save at least some on the planet. It is hard to think of these things when people have been preaching the end for hundreds of years and we are still here. We need a re-organization of how we do things; government and economics worldwide. Not necessarily world government but a consciousness change of how we view the individual no matter where they are from or their socio-economic level. I see revolution coming in the US and the changes being more in lifestyle than existence coming to an end. I would prefer not to live through something like that. I am not sure there ever will be what some refer to as the Apocalypse as believed verbatim.
If the universe will have me die, then I will die. Knowledge is the only thing that I am interested in at present time. So I am none too worried about anything catastrophic. If and or when it happens, good luck to those whose survival instincts kick in when the time calls for it.
Well Dabbler you made me laugh let them find their own people, LOL Hey I am with you If I was to survive I would round up people and believe me if you betrayed one of us your dead, because it will be all about survival and trust.
I mean it will be a time of war tactics and survival mode, you cannot allow the outside or the enemy in you could get everyone killed. People say it depends on how it would happen as for the end.. it does not matter in my opinion we want to rebuild and be better than we was the first time and anyone who does not want that well I do not want to be around them..
Me, I would hate to survive. To be in a society were everything is handed to you on a plate *so to speak* (meaning we have laws, money to buy things, houses, food etc etc, to a place were there is nothing and you have to defend for yourself.
Having to look over your shoulder, were the stronguest survive and the weak get taken out. No food no shelter, diseases, no law and order just general break down of all values....nahhh sorry I wouldnt want to live.
I think society seems to be leaning toward more of a negative view regarding an apocalyptic world. It may not be as bad as a Mad Max movie. I think Hollywood has put too much into the minds of the manipulatable.
Are we forgetting about the possible positive scenerio(s) that could take place? Such as a loss of criminals and what not? Could turn out for the better.
While a post cataclysmic (after natural disaster) situations already have existed, and some still linger, we have working examples of what is needed to return to a productive Livilhood.
Third world countries are constantly on the brink of desolation, starvation, and dehydration.
To resign to the worst case scenerio is (as BM so bluntly mentions) is to be blind to the existing element of desperation already looming.
So what are you doing to survive? would be just as valid a question.
If the end of the world will ever happen and I doubt it, we might not realise it.
*poof*
I believe that the Apocalypse will be the end of everything. I do not believe there will be any survivors except those in the Biblical sense - for those who believe in that. If not, then I sincerely doubt anything will survive.
im not much for prophesy, so i just look at facts. the most likely events that we would consider apocalyptic would be:
an asteroid/meteor (ie end of the cretaceous period)
major nuclear war
a large solar flare
a plague (something always fatal)
a major tectonic event
what am i leaving out?
Genocide perhaps?
You nailed the top terrors though Wolfsie.
now genocide sounds fun,but something like a plague or nuclear event will already cover that somewhat, though there maybe survivors, most definitely the rich and the government, they probably have very deep underground bunkers.
like i said before i wouldn't mind surviving because the apocalypse will bring freedom, and chances are that the world won't be a wasteland, unless it was a nuclear event or something.
no taxes.
no big government.
lots of chaos.
kill whenever i want (if there are other survivors)
steal when and what i want.
heh the land will be my playground.
i should say to that a flood can either be the cause or will come with the other events.
i want to survive and live free of this hellworld of slavery .id be free to do anything i like.the only thing id miss is anime but ill still have my manga.
I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist, but if any of this one world order stuff is in fact true, a catastrophic event on any of the levels mentioned by Wolf would certainly dash any hopes of that ever coming about, I reckon. In movies like The Last Man On Earth, and I Am Legend, all the "fun" of running around a post apocalyptic world and doing whatever you want seems jaded-it leaves you with the impression that, like cockroaches, zombies will be the only other survivors (en masse) besides a handful of bumbling humans, and exactly how much fun would that be? It reminds me of that episode of the Twilight Zone called Time Enough At Last; the world is whacked by a nuclear blast and this bookish little bank worker is apparently the lone survivor...now he's got all the time in the world to read and read with no one to interupt him-stacks of books before him, but alas...he's lost his glasses and can't see the pages. What an irony! It would be my luck to survive (if you call that luck) only to find out my appendix needed to come out.
It like this 2012 no one really knows what it really means, it could mean world destruction or just a life changing event (we go from planes and automobiles to spaceships) who knows. The Apocalypse is exactly the same no one is really sure what is going to happen.
I believe we have a lot more of stuffing the planet up before anything goes astray. We cannot help ourselves, todays society couldnt careless about anybody or anything other them themselves...thats the way of life nowadays, gone are the days of helping the neighbour (how many people even know their neighbours).
My mum told me she's survived three "end of the world years" in her lifetime. im not worried about 2012
But, how I figure it, I will go when it is my time to go. It is useless to fear death.
But, when I DO leave, I will do so with a Bang!
I just find it completely humourous that after the New Year of 2010, threads like this immediately started showing up. Funny how fear brings out certain mind sets in individuals.
I think these threads will continue for a bit, just because we are 2 years away from the so called "planetary" moment.
The two World Wars could be called an Apocalypse. They effect all the world, many ppl died yet we still lived on pass it.
Yeah is the smell of iron age, and corrosion. Acknowledgment for the modern-primates. It takes the extremes to bring a point and a chaos to bring those little things in life that really matters. Yet floods and fire from above are overused scenarios, the designer needs a new game.
I would think if an apocalypse were to come, it would be caused by a virus as that's what most people are messing around with now, after all, god only knows what scientists are cooking up around the world ready for their little wars...plus it would account for the zombies:D
still, i say that its better to survive than not...
even if it means i have to fight zombies. ill just have to remember to only go for head shots.
:c)
~W~
did i hear someone say zombies??? :) :)
that always seems to be what pops in my head when
i hear apocalypse.
i'd survive, there's no doubt.
and with no rules or leaders, it would be pure chaos and i kinda like that .....
only the strong survive.
Pshh as soon as a zombie eats Hanna Montana you would die of sadness..lol jk no offense intended.
I think I would rather survive an apocalypse as at least you have achance of starting fresh and perhaps build up a whole new way of life.
There's always a bright side, you could end up being one of the founders of a whole new civilisation.
When I posted this thread I wasn't expounding on any of the current doomsday scenarios-its something I've always thought about through the years; "the end of the world" doomsayers have been ranting for centuries, its nothing novel. The 12/21/12 deal is no different. The end comes to all of us, sooner or later, whether you simply fall asleep for the last time in the comfort of your own bed, or a meteor lands in your living room-its all the same. Its your own private apocalypse. Personally, I don't believe there will ever be anything of an apocalyptic nature taking place-no end-of-the-world catastrophies Biblical or otherwise, at least not in my lifetime; I was just curious as to how others felt about the possibility. The subject is nothing new. Hopefully an administrator or forum master will come along and put this one to bed.
I would go live on the Isle Of White...hey it worked for them in Day Of The Triffids!
To get away from the tossers that would be left an Island would be the best place to go...a very large Island!
only the rich and famous will survive they will make sure of it
hmmm surviving would be great as long as a few people were there as well... Anyone left alone ona planet would lose thier sanity
I was sure I posted in this thread already.
I wish people would stop refering to every disaster as apocolypse... it is not. The "disasters" are signs of the apoocolypse about to arrive... they are not the apocolypse itself.
It is specifically a concept regarding the maturity of Mankind as designed in The Covenant. The prediction of disasters are allegory for the institutions that are impeding the occurance to collapse, and are not all meant as disasters. The stars falling from heaven, the dead coming out of their graves &c. are not going to litteraly occur.
The apocolypse is a good thing.
Ragnarok means the same thing...
"the destiny of the gods," and has similar catastrophies before the norse gods destiny is achieved.
Well, if such a thing was to happen...I would sure hope to be prepared. But I do have an idea ...just sign over everything to me now if you think you won't be alive after 2012...make it effective for Jan 1, 2013..non revocable..I mean..if you really BELIEVE this...then you won't be here to see me laughing all the way to the bank....lol.
I"d just sit back and go with whatever happens if i'm ment to survive i will isn't that what life is all about fate?
Well, the planet is still here. As we may or may not have known, for many it was due to end this morning this occur to me.
I go out in public people tell me not to walk alone, that bad people are lurking around every corner. I go to work, my coworkers tell me how imminent of a terrorist attack we are at the libaray. I go to the supermarket, people tell me how I should lock my doors tight to keep away the thieves. I open a newspaper, people tell me that if I don't vote for a specific party, the other party will allow horrible things to happen to the world. I see someone asking for help, people tell me not to, that it's a trap so they can sue me.
I turn on the T.V., someone tells me not to complain, that the world is a horrible place filled with monsters and that only the brave leadership of our masters will protect us. I see someone prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that all the world's problems are the sole fault of their enemy, and how I should hate that enemy in order to save the world. I try to study the past, I see people consumed by fear, who are led by their masters to do horrible things to others and themselves.
All these people fervently believe that the end of the world is coming, and we should all be afraid. But if they really believe that the world is the kind of place they claim it is, and they are really the only good people around, then shouldn't they be welcoming the apocalypses they foretell? If the world is really as bad as they say it is, then why should I be afraid of the end?
Are they only hoping that the end will come? Do they believe that the only thing the world needs to be a better place is for some divine hand to come, and sweep away everyone but them?
Why are so many people right now thinking that I am talking about people 'other' than them? I began to feel that maybe it would be good if the world really did end for so much of humanity to go out with such a great sense of well being, and a true feel of being in a place we should be, rather than the senseless destruction of wars or economic collapse, and the slow inevitableness of global warming.
When written in Chinese, the word, crisis is composed of two characters. One represents danger and the other represents opportunity. For today, I'm probably the only person on the planet that is dissapointed we're still here...
Thats alright.. I have my Zombie Survival Guide at the ready in any event. HA!
Despite it being fictional or non, the zombie virus seems to have infected every aspect of our screen viewing lives.
As far as I'm concerned, a zombie apocalypse, a horde of brainless films zombies as different, because they are the closest monster humanity could be related to. Evading death at their hands should be relatively easy and effortless. We should just use our heads and cut off theirs. It is not the fear of life after death, but the idea of the body, of any body being so empty, so devoid of control, that frightens me.
The idea that the zombie could be my mother, or a friend and watching that loving form shambling towards me that causes me to stay up at night. Connections are who we are, and to have those connections gone to waste, to simply cease to exist is to experience a fate worse than any death at the hands of any other monster. More than once, a loved one was unable to tear himself away from the fact that the unfeeling zombie was once someone who loved them, and ended up a wasted death and an easy meal, this has left me to question about zombies.
Do they constantly fall victim to harsh stereotypical assumptions and vicious abuse at the hands of the ignorant masses?
Do they feast upon the flesh of the living? Yes. But does that make them evil? Does not the lion prey upon the gazelle? Indeed they have violent tendencies, but they are no more at fault than your average great white shark.
Regardless of how useful they may be, we have no right to brutally slaughter these humans.
The bottom line is that we're butchering these offsets of the human race and they don't know any better. It's not their fault that their physiology compels them to consume human flesh. Keep that in mind the next time you take a hatchet to the face of an innocently unaware walking corpse.
Should there be no apocalypse at all, no hoards of zombies, no reason for all this pointless brainwashing and corruption of people, well then what? Should we look back and laugh or will we be ashamed of the paranoid mess we made over a little scare like swine flu? Excuse me, I meant zombies.
For one the world would be very different. Remember that the Rupture happens before the Apocalypse. So all the "good" people are already gone. Which means ... one Hell of a party! It could very well be nothing but one big Burningman festival - every night. :)
The apocalypse could be coming, we might be bringing it. Before it comes, we may want to show ourselves real imagery as if it were a party of what you said, right?
If we are going to do this then it would be philosophers of the apocalypse. If we were going to act like zombies, because we would be consuming each others' intellectual nourishment in cerebrology. -laughs- I surmise our brains could be made of bread. Our brains could be at the bottom of the obselete food pyramid.
Why do I bother having cereal? If the maladroit apocalypse comes, cereal would get so soggy, and then it would be hard to find butterscotch syrup, too, plus my dryer sheets would not work.
Darn soggy cereal. Dryer sheets not working is a definantly over now. But butterscotch that is truely the end. On a slightly more serious billet, what the fuck is up with all the cockeyed weather patterns lately? It seems like everyday there's a new natural disaster. I mean a tornado in some place where it could not happen? Now that's outrageous! There are no clearer signs than soggy cereal.
Philosophers of the apocalypse, indeed. Time for the chainsaw of natural selection since it's not worth a red cent.
My friends and I have actually had this discussion. I actually think it depends on the type of apocalypse we are talking about
For example:
Zombie apocalypse would be one I would not want to survive. Yeah it would be fun to kill a zombie, who would not want to do that at least once? On the other hand, think about it, you would have to watch people die in an insane way. You would have to always hide, starve to death who knows. I guess unless you went to cannibalism.I would not want to watch my husband or children be eaten. I would not want to know my family has been eaten. Something like Left4Dead...finding a safe house, ect. Not for me...
A nuclear apocalypse...well depends on what kind of nuclear war was started. If it was something that I knew I could live through then yeah. I would fight to live. If it was something that would melt my skin the moment I stepped outside then no. I would rather be dead. If I see someone walk outside and randomly explode...then no...I would rather not survive it.
There are alot of apocalypse theories. I think it all just depends on which one it would be.
I agree, i wouldnt mind living in a post-apocalyptic world, the world we live in now is too government regulated, entirely too many rules, I dont think there is a country in the world that is truely free.
I hope that all these prophecies means that all the world governments will collapse.
I wanna be able to do whatever I want, whenever I want, I dont wanna have to conform to what the government thinks is good behvior, I am always having to think if my actions are legal as it is, i think thats common with most people.
I dont wanna be protected by laws, nor do i wanna have to follow laws, its not fair. The world needs a revolution.
Back in mideval times and ancient times only the strong survive, which makes now for a very weak population because everyone is supposed to be equal.
If we let survive who is more dominant then we will have a very strong future for humanity, thats why the human race has survived for 250,000 years. Now its hard to tell what will happen, and how breeding weaker humans with strong humans will eventually water down the good genetics of mankind and eventually lead to our demise.
All this has seemed to spring from modern man where right and wrong is just a point of view which limits the instincts of our animalistic nature.
If you even look at animals, usually the ones born with some kind of birth anomales, either something is defective or evolution has caused an adaptation, factors in on if they survive or not.
If an animal is born blind it will surely die, and if an animal is born bigger than its parent chances are it will survive and be more dominant which ensures the species will survive.
The same goes in place with humans, but the difference is we are allowing everyone to be equal and it needs to stop or humanity will cease to exist..
Hmmm... are you saying that blind or deaf people can't contribute to society? Or people born without legs or arms are making us 'weak', as a species? That seems a little harsh.
Personally, I would want to survive an apocalyptic event just because of my own beliefs--I do not believe in an afterlife. So I am not yet prepared to let go.
If the end were to come, by whatever means, I would be willing to endure and make sure my family does too. For example, in the case of a nuclear disaster, if I were still alive after taking precautions to ensure such, I am willing to endure the painful death of radiation poisoning and probably starvation just to have that longer lifespan.
No TL, thats not what i really meant.
Every kind of life can contribute to "this" society,
But if its an apocalyptical event that is taking place things like that arent gonna matter.
Its gonna be the most intelligent and mobile person that will survive i think.
An imparement could possibly lower your chance in survival
But the thing is that humans have the need to dominate and to conquer, So there will always be someone who will be stronger than the majority and have to lead people.
I think some will form a society no matter if there is 10 people or 10 thousands
And thats a totally different question, the title is "Survive"
well it is true that if we do survive some awful disaster, In the beginning it would be a fight for survival yet, once things settled and people with any intelligence would start all over in the world as to rebuild things and hope to improve it as well
I mean it will take time yet, I am sure we as a whole society would be fine. There will be those who always cause problems it is just how humans are soem are just greedy and well there you, go human factors kick in. not to mention universal one *good and evil*
I spent so much time in service learning to survive in the event of a nuclear attack and the breakdown of society, it almost makes me laugh to see the films that depict what the writer feels it would be like.
They overlook things like death due to no insulin, high blood pressure, no common antibiotics for simple infections, unclean water - and the fact that the average person on a city street today has no idea how to survive without a grocery store or running water.
This society is far too pampered. If the doom sayers knew what the kind of things they are talking about, they would scare themselves silly.
To think in a haze the apocalypse could happen, perhaps that of the bêtise of some people might destory the world in mass chaos. The hour of doom could be neigh, we could choose the side with whom we would stand. It's dog eats dog, unless we work together, or we might just end as the low food chain at the bottom of the Black Sea.
It will be Haiti times a Billion. It will truely be hell on earth. Dying would be your only salvation, yet it will not come.
Would I survive the Apocalypse?? Heck No!!! Then again... I would likely be the one to cause it >.> Kidding aside, I would survive. I am one that can't help but overcome. The type that just won't give up the ghost no matter how horrible it gets.
Who says the Apocalypse is going to happen anyway. Why bother worrying about it. If it happens it happens. If I survive or die who cares. It more then likely want happen while I am alive anyway if it does I have had a life and I would prefer not to live in the aftermath of it.
but then again, no internet, no phone, no door salesmen....could be a good life
if it's nateral disaster, people would survive, and I agree with Sire Doc it could be a much better re-start here on our planet.
If it's a chemical or nuclear war, then I would rather perish fast than linger with illness to die a slow painful death.
Yes the earth will recover it has again and again. I wouldnt want to be dieing a slow horrible death as would happen to any survivor. The movies put me off when coming to live in a post apocalypse world.
Depends on wat sort of event the Apocalypse is. It could be a natural disaster, a nuclear explosion, a chemical spill, alien invasion the list goes on and on.
I think I would prefer to be one of the first to die. Get the deal over and done with.
I think we all want to survive an apocalypse, but if I live or die then it is providence and I will just go with the flow. If it is alien invasion, comet crashing into the earth or nuclear war, there is little I can do but face it with courage.
I know what I will do as the end draws near, spend it with the people I love, not looting the local computer store... maybe the local liquor establishment, but why would I want to steal a dozen tv's or computers if the world is ending.
That part annoys the hell out of me in disaster movies. I tend to yell at the idiots on the screen... so people if the world is ending, don't spend it robbing, looting and trying to kill each other, go spend it doing something you always wanted to do, and with the ones that matter most!
I think a nice bbq by the beach with my family and friends is a perfect way to see out the end! Hell I would invite people I didn't know for the companionship and to spread the love.
I agree with Lore; why steal tv's when the power will probably go out any second? Go for the food, the booze, and leave the Wal-Mart looting to the walking dead.
Many-Lots of people have talked about a Apocalypse. Does anybody really know "what is" the Apocalypse?
I am NOT talking about HollyWood and/or theory about a Apocalypse, but the real true event of a Apocalypse.
The end of the way you see the world, and the beginning of the new paradigms. Now the things that go in between are not really good so people summarize it as disastrous, dramatic and chaotic.
Yeah, leave it up to sensationalism to dilude the mind into thinking some horrific event(s) will occur that will be disasterous on a physical level...
World end? O.O Not happening for um, billions of years. Mhm then it gets eaten by the sun. O.O
I don't see the world ending; rather, I see major planetary changes, akin to the great ice age of about 10,000 years ago. Many people died, but mankind as a whole survived and adapted.
With all of the recent hype, I say that this will happen in 2012...
We'll see - LOL!
depending on what you wanna believe, according to the bible it is a fight against good and evil and I believe evil wins. Then there is 2012 when it is more a natural cause then we have man made ie, nuclear or chemical causing human degeneration. And of cause there has been the story of the sun colliding with earth. Not to forget an alien invasion. Out of them all I like the Alien one, I would gladly survive an alien invasion and fight the rest nahhhh dont wanna be involved.
good or evil or mother earth just saying enough is enough and destoys itself. Many speculations are now coming to lite on what could percievably happen. What and see.
I would want to survive because then I would remake the world in my own image. The world will be shrouded in darkness until the next apocalypse.
With all that in mind, have a safe Apocalypse. Goodnight.
