Does it mean anything to have constant deja vu? or to have many, many dreams that come true...like sometimes in great detail? they're not even things that i'm thinking of, sometimes i dream of stuff, or like a perosn i don't know...or who's appearance ahs changed, (and i didn't know that it had changed), and when i seethem, i realize i unknowlingly dreamed of them...? what does that mean?
to me it means that you have a gift. You can have premonitions and that´s a good thing... you have to train yourself on that...
I agree-- I get it quite a bit, especially lately.
It also makes you think of possible situations that are reoccuring in this life as a positive/negative from a past life that are important.
What should I do now? What did I do THEN when the situation occurred?
I would recommend focussing on this, see if you dreamit first (write it down) and come back to it later, after the deja vu, and see if it came exactly like the dream-- it sometimes happens.
Work on it-- I would. And do.
It happens to me a lot too, it always has, and its not always of anything specific. Sometimes, I'll look somewhere, and get the feeling of deja vu, then remember that I dreamt it, and remember waking up and saying "that was a weird dream."
It could mean that you have a gift for premonitions, which is pretty cool, and pretty rare.
And depending on what your beliefs are, this might make more sense to you, but some people believe that we relive our lives over and over. Just one life, and therefore they believe that deja vu is your soul remembering from a repeated life.
Premonitions and dreams are one thing and it most likely means you have that Ability. But Dejavu,I feel is not even in the same catagory because it is simply a signal that the brain is processing twice.
Learn to decipher your dreams and pregogs and take full advantage if you can.
I can see what you're saying, Oceanne, but I'm one of those people that, while believing in science...believes that everything has the possibility to be supernatural. I think everyone is psychic to an extent, and I think sometimes its just a brain thing, but maybe sometimes we need to look deeper.
But I think everyone should take both a supernatural look into it and a scientific look into it.
you must have some special gift maybe psychic or something. you should get some advise on it.
Medically déjà vu is associated with seizures and migraines and about 70% of the American population has reported experiencing it. It’s thought that is also associated with stress.
Traditionally psychologists have held that it was caused by mistimed relay of the impulses form the eyes to the brain and in experiments they where able to induce this state. It’s theorized that the mistimed relay was caused by stress or minor seizures.
Currently more evidence has been showing that people especially 12 to 25 year olds are having micro seizures or minor seizure like symptoms on regular bases, daily to weekly. Oh course some people are blaming it on increased computer and video game use.
You can do some searches on line. A lot of people are doing studies on this area and déjà vu symptoms come up a lot in the reports. Look under medical studies if you want more scientific information.
I know this may not be a popular response as it has nothing to do with anything cool like metaphysical talk or magic but if you’re having serious cases of déjà vu try talking to your family doc about it and maybe go get an eye exam too.
i would suggest you to start working on it... through meditation you can handle this and use it well...

I think it means you are human. Notice how we have all these 'gifts' abound and they aren't really that special, they're common. I think especially on this site, humanity is downplayed and everything is attributed to gifts or possibly... we might be some kind of superbeing? I don't think so. I think the human is a spectacular being alone, and all these things are part of the wonderful humanity that is put on the backburner to focus on something different. No need to be 'different' when we're amazing just the way we are.
What an excellent post ImagesInWords.
I just might add too that all these things we see as supernatural? Are if fact natural energies that occur naturally all around our universe. There are many dimesions yes,but they are still simply a natural part of the way this universe is .
Fantasic is the word I would choose. It doesnt matter if one sees it as science, music, math or whatever..its still all the same thing.
It is a gift. You must embrace and enhance that gift... You will learn to tell the difference between the deja vu and your premonitions.

That was well put imagesinwords, but constant Déjà vu is far from being normal :-p
I can understand having a recurring dream now and again.....but I think this is different!

it could mean you have premonitions like me. it could also mean that your life is to repetative. do something out of the ordinary every day for the next few days, if you still know whats going to happen, then you have a gift! happy hunting!
Thanks DarkAngelDevina, I’m not discounting gifts or the metaphysical sort of speak but many things can be attributed to medical or normal biological functions as apposed to metaphysical.
As Images said we humans are unique. We are constantly discounting ourselves and our abilities. Why do we keep crediting our achievements to the supernatural or to extraterrestrials? Why can’t humanity just be real intelligent, gifted and able to build wondrous things with or with out technology? Why can’t we just be able to survive through changing world environments and exist and have been traveling the world for millennia out of our own will and ability? Why do we keep attributing our great achievements to something other than ourselves? – Ok so I’m not really asking those as questions but we always seem to under appraise ourselves and it’s sad.
imagesinwords an oddity, now thats news..
if you are one of the few who can see the hidden messages etc because you know how to listen and look for them then indeed you are special.
It so happens I belive you are as I take much inspiration from you ....however....!
I do the same thing all the time.. its not easy to live with at times as it can be hard to see whats just a dream and whats going to really happen..
It sure isnt.Nor is it easy to feel what peeps around you feel or any of it.But,even so,it is something that we as humans have.In one way or another.
You could have a very special ability there. It's what you chose to do with it, you can either develop it or ignore it.
so, thanks to all of you for responding...i like both the special and the scientific out looks...thanks again for being so helpful. :)
I think it could be like a form of warning. Like maybe we do live our lives until we get things right, and there's something saying, hey you're fixing to screw up again.
Just a thought.
It means you have insight.
I have a tendancy of having dreams with people in them and sometimes years after I have the dream I meet them in real life and end up having the exact same kind of relationship with that person.... like if I dream that they are a friend I would die for thats what they become in real life. I normally don't even realize that they are the person from my dream untill I have known them for a long time and I either suddenly remember or I have the dream again.
My mother also experiances that... but in a different way. My aunt told me a story about when she was living here and my mom was living in Florida and how they were talking on the phone one day and my mom told her about this dream she had where in my aunts closet was the prettiest sweater... and she went on to discribe the colors and everythign about it. and when my mom was done my aunt told her that had just described her brand new sweater that she had bought two days ago.
My aunt was shocked and so was my mom and it wasn't long before my mom was able to see the sweater in real life, because she came back here.
Is this where i say you are in the matrix? some people say dejavu is your minds way of picking up things that seem to fall on the edge of perception. Others might say its your mind playing tricks on you....i guess it would be your own call really?
when I see a common image over and over and something is out of place I "insurance agent"it that is the what could this variation cause?I do that so much that sometimes in my dreams I get a review of things way out of place and an urgency to do something comes from that it is not always correct as well as it is not always important but when I go back to that scene I am likely to notice events that resulted in the change of routine.say you get news from a friend...ok so now you think that friend called at a odd time ...at night...now say a week or two before the call you noticed that you haven't heard from that friend for awhile ...sets your mind to the brains file on that person and to what events you relate to that person...back to the phone call. You can get a good idea that the news is not good and are subject to deja vu.
as others have stated this is a gift that needs to be exercised to develop any use for.
I have the same thing happen at times. I used to think that it had to do with the way the universe collapses and expands (regenerative big bang theory), in that the memories are residual traces of the previous expansion. However, the generally accepted theory now is that the universe keeps expanding indefinitely. So, I do not know how to explain it. Things happen in exactly the same way I envision.
It does happen to some people but not all. I would keep track of the ones that you and look at what is going on in your life at that time. To dream the same thing over and over again and then for the dream to become a reality, could be taken a few different ways. yes you could be having premonitions or it could be just the law of attraction. can you give an example of what is going on? Is it good things or bad things. have you learned anything from what has been happening ?
there is nothing wrong with what is happening to you. you simply have a great gift. it is most likely that you have a form of premanition. premanition is a gift that is givin to certain people for a certain reason. al you have to dois keep a log about your dreams, and what happens prior, or after the dream. this way, you will be able to make sense of all the premanitions. and it will allow you to get stronger in your power. tust me, i know all about it, i and many of my friends have the same gifts. and we were just as confused as you ae. but we worked it out too. so as i said, if you keep trackof all the dreams and prior and after events, everything will become a lot clearer!
I get that deja-vu thing quite frequently. Instead of just having that shock and it's over feeling, I have actually tried to stay with it and make it last longer. My intentions were to try to understand it more. Once it actually worked, it was just for a few seconds, but it worked. Didn't understand it anymore then before but I know now that it is possible.
Or your soul could feel as if it is living a life very similar to a past life it has already lived
It could be intuition for some but yours sounds like a gift to me.
i personally dont know much about deja vu but i do know it is more common than you think.
I have this happen to me a lot too so this is fascinating to me. I have always wondered how I can know certain things before they even happened.
I have this too. Although I usually ignore it, mainly because i don't realize that I predicted something till the prediction happens. It means that you have a strong intuition. =)
Serval things can cause this. One past life flashback. Been there done that feeling. A dream you had so close to real life. A little help from above to avoid or do somethingthat needs to be done. Or your just in a waking dream state today & all day. Had a few of those.
I would think that you have a gift and that its something to work on or teach your self to control it. I also think that it might be a way for you to connect with a past life. There are several possibilities that it could be, look at all of them.
i have heard when you have de ja vue experiences it means that your life is on the right path.
It's possible you're experiencing something from a past life. If not that, you could simply just be thinking you experienced it before.
Sounds to me like you have the gift of premonitions. that is a gift that can be enhanced if you work on it.
Imagesinwords said it best! "LIFE is a gift!" and everything else you receive with it!
Maybe you should start writing down your dreams and keep them in a journal. Apparently you are really in tune with your surroundings but don't realize things will happen until your subconscious relays it to you. I am not educated in this area enough to tell you what I think it means, but I know there are many people who would love to have it, so try to use it in a positive way! =)
It is a gift, use it wisely if you see something bad even if the person doesnt believe you warn them , i have the same gift and saved my sisters life . I know some seem little but some are very important to listen too.

Wow... I wish my gift came out as often as yours... I only catch something like that every once in a blue moon. lol....
i would definetly look into managing your premonitions. Sweet stuff though!
I dun have Deja vu that much.
But I mean stuff happens where like I'll say something or talk about something and it will come back up later just randomly.
Like I was eating with my family, and I was like I wanna watch 13 Ghosts...well, we went to Kroger, and one of the top movies on the shelf was 13 Ghosts! Shit like that always happens to me.
It's weird!
-Juggalette givin MMFWCL
I too get them often. I"ll dream it ages ago and someone or something will happen and I have been there before. Already has happend 3 times this year. One was a guy didnt know him come down to Lectures us and said a word then a pose Hey Pesto been there done that.
All of my family frequently have deja vu moments or pre-cog dreams and most of them (around 95%) come true or play out within a week. I've learnt to write them down in a diary in order to remember the details. Sometimes they are about completely random things such as reading a chapter of a book, doing shopping etc then others are disturbing like the time I dreamt my brother was in a car accident which did happen 4 days later after i dreamt it but thankfully he wasn't hurt.
As for the meaning of it, i agree with images who put it beautifully, we are all human, and we all have gifts and abilities, some more unusual than others, but people don't talk about them much so when people do discuss their experiences, it seems that pre-cog, deja vu, telepathy etc are very rare when in fact they aren't.
Psychology. the illusion of having previously experienced something actually being encountered for the first time.
Back up to what Kryptic said at the beginig of this thread, I agree that we all are living our lives over and over again. I can be sitting there on a sofa and reach through a doorway to grab someone that has just tripped. This is because my dreams were so vivid. The only thing is, most of my dreams were when I was a child. But I remember them as something is happening.
I'm told that if you experience dejavu, you are on the "right path".
That is a gift and if you work on it you can make it better..
Clairvoyance is the extension of the ability to see, telepathy is the extension of the ability to communicate, clairaudience is the extension of the ability to hear, déjà vu extends past memory recall and precognition extends the sensing faculties.
Awakening your psychic abilities is a process whereby you learn to develop your powers to their fullest extent. Everyone has intuitive moments. Experiencing déjà vu is a perfect example of such a moment.

It sounds to me that u have the gift of being a medium. Now u just need to learn hhow to use it
That actually happens to me all the time, you're not alone. It's been happening to me for many years, since a young age...I dream things before I experience them.
It's a gift, so don't worry. I've never really looked into it but I've been told you can really hone that skill to be able to control it.
I tend to believe this is quite common. I have similar experiences.
I think most people on some level experience this phenomenon...whether we dream about an event and have it later happen or are just in a place that seems so familiar but you don't know why...i remember very few of my dreams...the ones i do remember though usually at a later will have some aspect of them put into reality
Why we do this i have no idea... Our spirit trying to guide us in the right direction maybe
It could mean you lived in a past life and are reborn again
if you meet people you dreamed about it usually is a good sign. If in the dream you are warned about them you will know to stay away or if they were good you know they will be a friend. just listen to your dreams.

DEJA VU
You may have had a hard time deciding how to answer this question. Deja vu comes in waves. Most people who experience it find that it comes in waves. For a few months, they get it all the time. Then it stops. Then it starts again. Deja vu is a change in the way we experience the present moment. The present feels like the past. There really isn't much you can do with the past, but you can be in the present. Often, people respond to deja vu by trying to figure out what when its coming from. Was it a dream Was it in a past life?
None of that matters in spiritual terms. What does matter is that deja vu calls your attention, sharply, to the present moment. When it happens, you might like to experiment with being present. Don't try to remember a past moment that's like the present one. Instead, ask yourself why it feels like the past. You might find that there's a feeling you can't put into words. Something past-ish. When are you feeling it Right now. Make that feeling a kind of meditation object. Pay as close an attention as you can to it. Eventually, after trying a few times, you might be able to find a new way of 'being here now.' It will come all of a sudden, as a flash of insight.
In my work, I have found that people who experience deja vu a lot tend to be drawn to Zen Buddhist and Vipassana traditions. Both traditions emphasize being in the present, starting with paying attention to the breath. The more often you experience deja vu, the more likely it is that you will succeed with spiritual practices that emphasize 'being here now,' 'being present,' 'being at one with the NOW,' and so forth. And the more likely it is that you'll find satisfaction in them. There's something else to add. Deja vu can sometimes be a symptom of one kind of epilepsy. A kind that people often refuse to have treated because they like it. Others are desperate to get rid of it. If you experience deja vu with a feeling of terror, you might like to see an epileptologist. The type of epilepsy (called Complex Partial) I'm thinking of is often misdiagnosed by psychologists, but its usually caught by specialists in epilepsy. There is so little available information about deja vu because learning how it works is a matter of brain science. Being present, fortunately, is not.
Someone has the gift of site. The deja vu can get annoying lol personal experience.
it does get annoying after a while but then if you learn to relax it gets better
Like many have already posted I do believe it to be premonitions and you should not question the gift you were given but to hone those skills for the betterment of either yourself or the significance to which you are a part of that life.
I get dejavu alot. The only reason that I realize it is that I keep a dream journal. And alot of things will happen in real life that I recorded in my dream journal. Sorry, I'm not much help, I don't know what it means either.
I am no expert but with many gifts the best way to hone in on them and to sharpen them is through meditation..there are several good books that teaches you meditation techniques. I would definitely check into something that would suit your needs and then go from there.
i think that everyone has this *gift* however if it isnt worked on we lose it
Some people get the Deja Vu through just faded memories coming back to the surface after a time while others have a gift that has not been cultivated.
I don't know if it means anything except that you can do it. Your not focusing so your getting random information. I wounder what would happen if you did focus to find something out if the information you want would appear.
I think deja vu is pretty common and normal. I have it constantly, daily. I don't think I am any different than anyone else. It's so common, most people blow it off... and again so common, it's in almost everyone's vocabulary.
I thought having deja vu was a normal thing..... I have had it since I can remember and I think its normal. I mean, allot of people talk about it so I think its normal.... Sometimes I remember things hours or days before they happen and other times I remember seconds before it happens and i find that most annoying because it gives such little time to think on it and recalling it in full detail.
It happens to me often enough to make me pay attention to it, I would take a good look at what it is it is occuring at. My experience is that alot of times it is linked to past lives, but that is just my opinion. There hs been some great input here for you.
It sounds like many people agree you have a gift and it is definatly something you should work on and gain control of. I have a similar thing and when I was younger I was dreaming of people dying this is not a fun experience. so you should meditate and gain some insite into what it means related to what you are dreaming of and why you are seeing things before they happen.
As alot of people above said that you have a gift... I completely agree.
If you just improve on it and control it well it would be really awesome.
it is a gift and can be used for good , I have the gift of knowing when someone is going to have a child before they know and I can tell you when a love one close to me has pasted before the call comes in so good luck with your gift
We are givin many gifts in life, many of us live on never knowing what they are, others wish they didnt, as with any gift it can have what I feel as its counter part that seems more of a curse.... either way, a balance needs to be found and learn how to live with it, and even how to understand it more so that you can turn it on and off, or if its one that cant be shut off, learn to not let it rule you, otherwise it can drive people to insanity... but thats just my opinion from personal experience
well I think we as humans are a very special species and what most call a gift is just a natural state for us.
I mean if so many people have these deja 'vu (sp) of dreams then well it must be something that we all posess as a part of our humananity. I feel everyone has some insight to the future or a warning system that is in us we just do not all talk about it so many think it is a gift. well I have the gift also .. :) not sure why we have it just we do.
I agree with kryptict, oceanne and imagesinwords.
Everyone has deja-vu, it happens so much with me for instance i consider it the norm and pre-cog's happen far more than people let on, as imagesinwords stated in her wonderfull posts it's part of being human, just not many people care to talk about it for fear of being deemed 'weird' or just crazy. You just have to learn to control the ability, for instance, meditate, write down vivid dreams, yoga is really good as well as it helps with concentration.
I have to agree with EmoDemon, it's a gift and if you learn to use it and control it then it's even better!!
i have had dreams come true!!!! which i also put down to deja vu!!! i remember 2 instances were dreams came true much later on in life!!! like 2 years after? not quite sure its a gift of precognition but its sure is spooky when it happens!!!
I heard once that the feeling of deja vu happens because your heart skips a beat for a brief second!
Indeed that is a fine gift... learn to hone that gift and it will be a great assset to you. Premenisions are good things for someone to get... most of the time. I've only ever had one... Thought iwas just some dream... and BAM!!! it hit me... so yeah.
Some neurologists theorize that deja vu is seeing the same thing twice due to chemical imbalances, so when you think you've seen it in a dream you may have seen it a millisecond earlier and your brain didn't process it completely, but it's just a theory.
Personally, I have had instances where I have dreamed of someone and met them years later.
Just thought I'd give you two sides.
Thanks Meeper for linking to this thread,I looked so I could post the link but obviouslyt couldnt find it.There are alot of threads covering this topic actually.
Anyway,reposting this where it belongs.
Researchers believe, and studies show that the neurons called place cells fire to provide a kind of blueprint for any new place we encounter. The next time we see the place, those same neurons fire. Our brains do this so we dont have to keep learning our way around a place over and over.
But if we go to a place similar to one we have seen before, a new, but overlapping set of neurons creates another blueprint. When there is enough overlap between the two sets, we experience that odd feeling we call Dejavu.
You ask a question, then you present what you already settled on it being. What response are you expecting?
Testimony from others who believe exactly as you do?
It might be quite prudent to remember that feeling like an experience is familiar doesn't mean that it is familiar. What is it that we experience when something seems familiar? It seems perfectly possible for us to have such an experience which isn't spawned by actual familiarity.
So on many points, I agree with ImagesinWord's first post here. Deja Vu is quite common. Some experience it more often than others but almost everyone experiences it once in a while.
And yet, I've not seen any evidence to suggest that it's other than a psychological or perhaps physiological anomaly, not a "gift" as so many suggest. I think it's reasonable to note that sometimes we feel a chill when the temperature hasn't changed. Sometimes we think we sense anger in someone who isn't angry with us. Sometimes we think we smell smoke when there isn't any smoke. Sometimes we think we saw movement out of the corner of our eye when there wasn't any movement. Sometimes we hear an odd noise coming from the car when no one else in the car hears anything unusual. Sometimes the hair stands up on the back of our neck when there is no reason to be startled or frightened.
Our bodies are the product of evolution. And evolution doesn't seek the fastest solution to an environmental challenge. It doesn't seek the most reliable solution to environmental challenges. It doesn't seek the most logically-sound solution to environmental challenges. It selects for any random mutation which stands to offer any advantage over the existing genetics, flawed or not. So we end up with minds that forget, eyes that grow near-sighted, far-sighted and lose visual acuity as we age. We end up with hearing which provides sensation for only a very narrow band of air-density fluctuations. We end up with a throat which must choose between swallowing food and breathing air for each transaction rather than providing separate passageways for each. And we end up with a sensation of familiarity which isn't always indicative of what is actually happening. When something stimulates the sensation of familiarity, it doesn't mean the setting or circumstances are actually familiar in the sense of being exactly the same as some other real experience. It means we're humans, products of evolution, and are subject to the flaws of our physiological processes.
It's not a gift, it's a flaw.
That is exactly what it is Beast,a flaw.
It happens alot with ALS patients, and epileptics, including other maladies.
If it where truly some kind of precog. It wouldnt last only seconds and we would be able to know everything about a place.
Well, there are a few rare cases where people have the ability to dream of the future. I mean, actually dream exactly what will happen. For everybody else, dreams have meanings. I'll give some examples of what some common dreams really mean, then you'll see what I'm talking about. The average Joe have these every-day dreams, but they do not act upon them. I would refer a dream book to everybody, they're quite interesting.
Dreaming of dead bodies means a wedding will take place.
Dreaming of being abducted means plans will go out well.
Dreaming of a mermaid means misfortune in love affairs.
See, and all these things have nothing of what they really are.
Yes LadyK,but dreams are not the same as what is commonly known as Dejavu.
The meaning could apply to dreams or precog in that it means Already seen.
But if Im not mistaken, the OP is speaking of that fleeting odd feeling of being there before when one is awake.
Well my thinking is that subconscious worked with celestial body and mind and conscious deposited it in slept memory, but body and senses experiencing it later with intellact and mind come to know it was experienced earlier with slept mind memory.
but foreseeing and forevision and advanced vision to is deja-vu in advanced persons.
That might be so Demon, but there are things that happen that are not related to the paranormal and are caused simply by the bodie's function.
It is important to know the difference.
After I dream my dreams they usually comes true for me. Either a week or something down the road from now. I believe in that dreams mean something to you and that everything that happens in your life is for a certain reason.
LadyK,
Re: "Well, there are a few rare cases where people have the ability to dream of the future."
Are we talking about actual documented cases where proper studies have been conducted or is this more of the usual "anecdotal" claims?
As far as what dreams mean, is this not more of a superstition than any kind of confirmed standard? I mean, I've dreamt of death many times and it wasn't preceding any wedding of which I was aware.
People often go on and on about what various things mean. Some will even publish books with their findings. But any objective analysis of the claims made expose them to be nothing more than simple superstition.
