I believe in vampires, fairies, and such. I know many vampires who despise humans. Do you think there would ever be an uprising? Discuss it.
That depends on the mentality of those of whom justly qualify themselves to be "vampire" to begin with, and why a revolution is nessessary.
If vampires adhere to the rules of the masquerade, then, no, there would never be an uprising...the mystery of the vampires had always been such an inherent strength, that going out in the open and staging an uprising would compromise the safety of all vampires...vampires are smart enough to know that their weaknesses lies "out in the light"...
Its very hard to say. You have to keep in mind that many are stubborn, so there is a chance of an uprising. But if anything I suppose the humans would start the "war".

Would the vampires have an uprising?
Are you kidding?
If this site is any example of the "vampires" in the world, most of them can't even be bothered to learn to spell and punctuate sentences... those things aren't even ambitious!
An uprising? Pffftt.

Hey! Where did that second one come from???
OH NO! It's evidence of the vampire uprising!
Run for your lives! Or, just, go outside in the sunshine...
If vamps in a mythological sense did exist how do u know that they dispise humans. Just cause they feed of blood or energy doesn't mean that they hate humans, just means that they are hungry. Now vamps in a subculture sense don't even care they just want to be left alone.
No I think they are happy with the sub culture they are in, unless areason may provoke them.
I am unsure as to whether you mean mythical vampyres or not. To me vampyres are purely mythical. But I do know that some people drink blood and such so I guess I can classify that as vampyrism but they have no special powers or anything. But as for an uprising, since mythical vampyres do not exist I do not think there will ever be an uprising. How can there be when they do not exist? People that drink blood may have an uprising but it wouldnt be anything huge. It would just be a bunch of people revolting. Nothing fantastic will come from it and it will eventually be broken up.
Well, seriously, only if the can get out of the asylum.
And then it would be more of a riot ...
Only the vampires who hate themselves would be part of any such plot. Presumably, they despised themselves while human, and their current undeadness has done nothing to improve their outlook on . . . immortal life, which is a gift, not a punishment.
It's really a chickenshit attitude if you really think about it --- they're too wussy to off themselves or get involved in some vampire bar fight where some other hardnuts vamp might shut them down, so out of boredom they start a revolution. Pitiful.
Like it was said above, Just walk outside in the sunlight.
Why can we all coexist in harmony? What would a war solve anyway..
I concur, Birra...
There will be no such thing for such.
I agree, war would solve nothing, and harmony would be best would both groups...
Not that has ever stopped humans from turning the simplest of arguements into massive bloodshed before.... but its a fact.
Well I'm afraid the mythological vampires would lose since they'd only be able to fight at night. Unless we are dealing with special vampires who can wear sunscreen or are hybrids. Then humanity would be in trouble. Maybe the modern day psy vampires will rise up and fight to put all humans into a foodbank zoo.
But the critical issue as to who would win the battle really honestly depends on which of the two actually exist.
Well considering there are more humans, sunlight (I really could list all vamp weaknesse's but we know em).
Humans would win, our fighting spirit has more weight than lofty arrogance that sometimes permeates vampire culture.
I agree completely.... but then what would happen with the sang vamps?
They obviously need to feed as well...
ah well, if it were the historical vampires that could come out at night... they could still take a large toll on humans, especially depending on what it took to kill them... there is a lot of speculation to that... although a stake seems pretty much universal...
I have yet to meet a real vampire but coexisting is ideal. Vampires will lose because as someone posted earlier..our defense is the sun unless ur a Vamp like Blade.
yes i do believe humans would kill the vampire.. they would hunt during the day and wipe them out
I fail to see how an uprising would do anything to benefit vampires. Their strength lies in their mystery, their lives depend on a regular and dependable food source so to speak, and I doubt there would be a sufficiently cohesive enough structure amongst vampires, being as fractious as they are, to enable such an uprising to succeed. Beisdes, I agree with Birra- half the people on this site can't even SPELL uprising sufficiently to get their point across....which makes me wonder just how easy it is going to be for them to read my answer.....
Well firstly the human race would most certainly outnumber the vampires and where would the justification be for the vampires to start an uprising to begin with. I think the odds would be stacked against the vampires if there ever were such a thing.
I agree with Birra and RedQueen.....maybe it's the faries we should be more concerned about ?
I will not knock your belief in Vampires but I agree with most on this topic.
Vampires are purely mythical and beautiful creatures.
If the did exist, then like someone stated in a previous post, the fact that they would only be active during the night would count against them
There is no proof that vampires actually exist so my answer is no
Let's just say for the sake of argument that AlessandraLaysDying's belief of vampires and faeries, etc is correct. If the Vampires were to 'uprise' against humanity the odds are overwhelmingly against them. At first they might be able to wipe out small communities and grow in numbers. As soon as the general population finds that they exist and are at war with them it's game over. Vampires would be hunted and destroyed at a staggering rate. Humans would become collateral damage. Our governments would raze complete cities to remove the threat...for the greater good.
I guess it's a good thing they are fictional characters.
If all all the cyber vamps from hear and other virtual communities were to rise up it would be silly and over in a matter of minutes. No one would even realize what had just occurred. Squashed like bug.
I'm not sure what would happen but would be very interesting to say the least
i thnik, that society will be more and more liberal and vampires, creatures, or lost souls will come between us and we shoul prepare for it...but i think it´s far future
I think the earth is going to explode and the only things left will be fragments of dust.
Unless we start to take better care.
:)
I guess this would depend on what you believed a vampyre to be and those of the subculture do not follow the game Vampyre: The Masquerade, lol.
Why would you distinguish them from humans. The only time they use that word is to mean mundane and not vampyric.
As for the others it would depend on the writer of the story wouldn't it? They could do anything they wanted.
The real subculture wouldn't try this because why...no one believes in them so it's moot. Therefore it wouldn't come to that because what would they have to gain...nothing. I think they would be more covert than that if they even tried such a thing and I can assure you they wouldn't be interested.
I can't really say there would be an uprising, because they still need to feed and I don't know of any that would want to settle for a constant supply of animal blood. There could end up being small factions, so to speak...but I don't think there would ever be a full uprising...anytime soon anyway.
well put it this way if the vamps did uprise what would they feed after all the humans are dead, on each other they dont want to do that so they will not uprise
but to say they did for some weard reason vamps would take out a lot of humans before the humans ever find out what hit them because most humans will not think of vamps as real and they will most likely attack the country that they are at war aginst because they think it was them who done the killing.
so no i dont think the vamps will uprise.
Why? people just go their way,so why cause trouble if there was "real" vampires.
I would have to say no I don't believe there will ever be an uprising. I believe the mystery behind the vampire is too strong for them to step out and try to claim the world.
I don't think there would be be one only because:
1. There are probably 10 times more humans then vampires.
2. If they were to have an uprise they would all be killed.
Which i don't see why they would want that sort of thing to happen to their kind.
I've never had the pleasure of meeting a Vampyre, although I'd certanly enjoy it. I believe if Vampyres were involved in an uprising against humans, The humans would possibly diminish or whip out the vampyre race. Simply because for many many years humans have been studying the origins/ natures/ habits etc. of the walking dead. They'd probably know some old tricks or whatever it is to help them in the longrun. I don't know thats just my opinion ^^

I think it wall be just like any other war. There are vampires that dispise humans but there are others that just want to live their lives in peace. And still a few more that actually care for humans and merely hunt to survive. So I think that if there were to be an uprising, there wouldn't be enough of the hateful campires to make much impact so it would go on without even. And eventually the world would forget until someone else posted in a forum asking "do you think there will be an uprising?" =)
I do not believe there will be an uprising and I also do not believe in "real" vampires because I have yet to have had it proven to me that they exist and until then I will not believe.
Now that Im think about it and read everyones response, though in an earlier post I did think that humans would win against the upring against Vampres....
Say if Vampires would decided to have an uprising...not sayin that they totally would and after thinking it further through. It would probably be a tough call so to speak.
If you really think about it. Sunlight is the best defense we have against a vampire. Humans do outnumber Vampires on Earth. Then again the human body is much more fragile than a vampire. I dont think vampires are vunerable to diseases and viruses. If the vampires really want to wipe out the human population they can just do it by placing viruses or diseases into our water systems. The bubonic plauge had the ability to wipe out the masses in a short period of time. Same with the small pox in North ,Central ,and South American civilzations. So when it comes to an uprising who knows which side would really win.
i think vampires were on the lose i believe we would be in some deep dodo...
How do we know humans outnumber vampires? It's not like they all wear nametags! And in the end it all goes back to the zombie war theory. Human dies (poof) one more vampire to fight through. Vampires can replenish their numbers, humans can't
If you're talking mythical, then no because they don't exist. If you're talking vampiric subculture then still no, why would they want to?
One day the Mortals will angerl the Immortals and then chaos will be here.
i dont think there could be enough vampires fhat can mount an effective uprising
Maybe just little one, but the Head Vampires would not allow it to go very far. If it did then their main food source would deplete so, then there wouldn't be enough food to go around. So, in the end they would have start killing each other. unless they breed us and over populated creating profound food source.
Atonement i agree with you.. we dont no who has more then who but like i said we would be in some serios dodo lol
I agree with Birra...
I don't believe that there are actually undead beings out there sucking the lifeblood from people's necks. There are no such things as the mythical vampire archetype. There are those that call themselves such but I assure you that they were born to a living mother, pooped all over themselves, suckled a breast (or bottle), and will die just same as you and i.
lol.......fantastic posts lol.....
Birra and RedQueen, I agree completely.
I don't see how it would benifit the vampire socity in any way shape or form.
And the same has to be said for the fairies. They woldn't be strong enough. Not to mention that humans are doing a fine job of killing themselves off why would anyone need to step in....lol
At the rate we are destroying the environment an uprising would be the least of our problems.
I've encountered a great deal of vampires, but not the Hollywood kind. I am talking about the energy vampires and the sexual vampires. The ones that leave you drained after hanging around them too long.
No, for them to create an uprising, would be self-defeating. If they were to initiate one, and by some incredible amount of luck they actually won, would that mean they would control humans, and begin to 'blood-farm' (to coin a Blade-movie term) or 'energy-farm' them?
I don't see the benefit of it. Vampires are content the way they are, the feeding is better this way.
