you know, when i first found the Rave, i didn't know what to expect...but what i found was a place where i wouldn't be ridiculed, teased, or tormented for being and acting different...This place has become like a second family to me... i've found somewhere that i can be myself and not have to worry about what other people think...thanx everyone! *hugs and kisses*

you're right, darkness...i have yet to see some place where so many people from so many different places and backrounds come together and get along...something rare indeed...

this is a wonderful place- Unlike my school day, I am firmly respected across the board here, which is quite a contrast compared to what I have been subjected to in the past................... you all are great.

VR is a fun place and an escape from reality, but you do have to deal with living in the real world ...Life is not a movie, or comic, or what you role play in your head or pc....These things are only a means to escape reality to deal with stress....So have fun, but BE REAL.

*huggs & kisses back* I absolutly agree with you. This site and mostly all the ppl in it have been wonderful and I've met some great ppl that I've become really close too. I think of us as a family with the ups & downs with it lol. I feel like I can completely be myself, open, honest, and share my life with the great ppl I've met here.

Where alot of the older members of the family came from and still reside a lot of the time.

It's the same for me,but since in every community there are different people still I met some troubles but on the whole it's marvellious!!!!

It seems you have a total downer on this site at the moment mslefaye, and thats a shame, as a lot of people are very happy here.

At the moment, I am being totally ridiculed for being a vegetarian, btu I guess you just have to ignore the people who want to treat you that way, and listen to those you are friends with.

I think it is wonderful to have a place like this. The internet is a great and powerful thing, it links people, from all over ,together through a common intrest ; and alows us to see we are not alone, that it is only physical location that seperates us. It gives our spirits a chance to be uncloisered and expressive.

Well reading all these threads surely doesnt look like a big Happy family. More like a clan torn apart by its own internal politics to me.

We all have opinions as we should but trying to force them on others seems to be causeing some strife.

This is a place I have spent most of the last oh 6 or 7 months now. 1300 hours on vr at this point.

Its one of my homes even when I am on the road. Where my friends are and where I am who and what I am.

Lets keep it our havens, homes, or what ever word you choose to use for the idea and leave the family bickering somewhere else.....

Not to be a killjoy, but i would describe VR as more of a community with lots of smaller familial groups... because there are those of us here that just do not get along with others except those in our particular groups, altho I agree that is is a nice place to meet both new and interesting people and establish such families to be enjoyed in this community. :)

I havent been here that long either but it has some great member from the ones I have meet that are very kind and willing to help in anyway or just to talk, and everyone is open minded but still have there own opions, it is just like a huge family

Just remember to not only be yourself here, but be it in the real world.. Why should you care what other people think?... Simple: don't... It is a waste of precious time and energy to try to be like "everyone else"... Remember, everyone is different, whether it be because of fingerprints or personal preference... No one is exactly the same... Be bigger than the people who would mock your true self and stand on your own two feet for what you believe in....

This place it the greatest to me, I've made tons of interesting friends on here.

I have been greeted well by many here as well, and they have made this a great place to be... yet it still feels more communal.

Here like in the real world... I am myself... only here I don't have people constantly brushing up against me... like when I'm at university, or when I go out... I don't like people standing in my way, and you can ask anyone who knows me well.... I've been throwing people out of my path lately! Here I can also analyse people like I normally do... and I just love it!

it is right to call what we have here as a family but it is also right to realize that even in the best of families, there will be differences. There will be arguments and people not seeing eye to eye. It is to be expected and dealt with, with the most deplomacy you can muster at the time. There is a reason we have a mom and a dad. they play peace keeper. so does the administration. It is best to solve it ourselves and prove ourselves mature enough to handle this but when that fails. ...

i just think it silly to think that we are all going to agree or that we should keep it to ourselves when we don't

I wouldn't say that I'm at home here. At home, I can do nothing, but here, if I'm inactive for too long, they log me off LOL! It's all good, though, because I am definitely at ease here. I think I've made more friends on here in the last 10 days than I ever did in 4 years of high school!

One big happy family, for sure! And I pride myself on the fact that everyone on here, like me, puts the "fun" in dysfunctional!

Yeah I feel as though vr is like one big family. Exspecially with some of the squabbles that go on here. Which makes us a family. Personally I owe alot to this site without it I wouldn't have met some great people.

a friend turned me on to the rave..seemed like fun..but after a few days i found so much more.i found friends ppl who were like me. i found love in so many ways and on so many levels.i found smart ppl who are more then just A/S/L or hey wanna cyber..i found a home and a family..thank you everyone so much

oh and demon... i like it with the lights on but i'll turn them off if you'll turn up the music..love ya all

I agree wholeheartedly that the members of this website for the most part welcome a stranger with open arms. The unorthadox is not considered blasphemy, for the most part religion is not ridiculed. Maybe put to the test, so to speak.

I personally also feel like one, big, addicted family member to this site. almost everyone here that I have had the pleasure of talking to have been really kind and nice. Not quick to judge. I can say I will be around for awhile.
