If you had all of eternity what would you do travel, read, or study. Would you try to find a mate or do you think that having all eternity would send you insane ?
I would find an island away from people and live there in complete happiness.
I would learn everything to learn and travel the world. Discover hidden wonders and meet amazing people. Eternity would be a party for me. lol
I'd learn every language. Read ever book. Play piano. And build myself a house dee in the woods far far far away from humanity.
I would do what I usually do, indulge in hedonism and all sorts of fun such as drinks and violence etc. Mostly I will just be doing what I want like I always do.
I would definitively collect antiques, and rare books. I would preserve the tenants of the Land I occupy.
I know what you saying there dabbler, when some things are passed down through person to person, its likely to get distorted or corrupted from what it original was, a good example is some oral history that was passed from storyteller to another as some parts would be missing etc.
Being Immortal, one can potentially possess the knowledge of something perfectly.
I'd learn everything there is to know, gravel the world and when space travel becomes possible travel there as well and try to pass on some lessons I've learned to others, but would they listen??
Also I would like someone to share eternity with as it would get incredibility boring and lonely otherwise.
Learn every language, read every book, expand my knowledge and visit every country.
I would live different lives , some many times if they were to my liking , some with , some without a mate, in all these life times I would learn all I could , I would not be burdened with a "time" limit. (assuming the earth will not cease to exist) . I would be able to thrive with no regrets. Losing others would not matter to me either. Life is already about loss to some degree...what makes people so emotional about it , is because the years are so short.
I would get a degree in every field I want. I would live on each and every continent for at least ten-twenty years. I'd learn many different languages and meet and talk to as many people as possible.
I would find an island away from people and live there in complete happiness. And found a guy to love and to love him.
i would try and find a mate with whom i could share every moment but in fact i would try and find my soul mate
Help people.. mostly the misunderstood and brokenhearted. Those that cannot find it anywhere they look.
Create art, write, give shit to random people...I'd also keep on learning as much as possible.
I wouldn't like to live forever. I think I'd get pretty bored after a few millennium. Life is good just the way it is. I certainly appreciate it more than I ever would if it were eternal.
Heh
It's interesting to note how people seem to translate "living for eternity" into, having enough money to buy an island.
Secondly, that they want to spend an ETERNITY on said island away from people.
Not really plausible. I say try and be a bit more creative and less anti social. :P
The question is what will you do for eternity, Some reader got a little confused and read, what will you do in a eternity world. For me, to reach eternity, I will do anything, including the destruction of the Human Race.
Destruction of the human race, I like that but its not as easy as it was in the old days.(at least for an individual) There is more defenses and advanced weaponry to overcome and of course, breeding. Humanity has had a population problem for awhile now and you could spend months or even a few years killing people and it would hardly make much of a dent..... unless of course you use weapons of mass destruction that can destroy cities but you would have to be able to access that sort of thing.
I guess killing is something one can do for eternity and one can find out how many ways someone can die before getting bored.
I can see why some of you put down collecting and reading etc, knowledge is power and with the brief lifespan of the average person, one is unlikely to attain everything within one lifetime.
I would spend as much time with my family as I could, then I would make sure my two best friends were beside me for the rest of eternity so that we could terrorize the world. -evil laughter- -giggles-
apart from spending time with my family and friends and protecting them i would also spend as much time as i vcould djing for functions and parties
I honestly believe eternity would eventually or more than likely, quite suddenly drive me completely and utterly insane.
That only happens if you get bored, there is lots to do in the world and many people claim that life is not long enough to accomplish what they want. I say the little maggots live long enough as it is because people with just an average span of 60 to 80 years have successfully managed to ruin the world. Insanity would not be so bad, you would get to view the world differently.
As long you keep yourself active and have reasons to go on, then the mind stays sane.
Boredom has a nasty habit of driving people insane, the constant repetitiveness and orderly schedules can make one want to take a shotgun to the head and pull the trigger, so chaos and anarchy is the way to go, always something new and nothing stagnates.
Study, wander. I probably wouldn't be in one place for a long time. I mean with all of eternity to explore...and discover..why spend it watching tv and being boring?
i would wander the globe and see what the world has to offer and if i could i would invent time travel and see what time and different dimensions were like
I would look for a suitable mate, and study history and become very knowledgeable
Travel and you'd have to avoid people who are aging around you, in order to avoid suspicion.
I would take time to understand the things i don't know, and better my abilities and build a house far from humanity.
I would get degrees in everything and travel lots why not do it all if you have all the time !
Lots of sex, drugs, study, more sex, etc.......for eternity the pleasures of the flesh.
Indulge.
Indulge in all that I could. Observe and learn the ways of people, animals, the earth itself. I would spend a massive amount of time trying to understand why certain diseases and illnesses effect the creatures of this planet. I would then learn ways to prevent them, eventually seeing if there is a cure or a preventative procedure that could help those suffering from them or who could be carriers for them.
I would learn all languages and provide each person I come in contact with the knowledge of how to overcome their disadvantages and their problems. I am a firm believer that having the knowledge to do something better, or to correct something, is one of life's greatest helpers.
I will buy the Winter collection of suit from Calvin Klein, so I can get ready for all the funerals that I will be going.
I would probably travel the whole world to start with, see every thing do every thing...literally. after that and in between I would study every language there could ever be and study every culture. If I had the choice to eat, I wouldn't be picky. And after about 1,000 yrs I'd see if I could fall in love with a beautiful mortal that's kind and passionate. then after that....idk....probably go insane. Or move to the wilderness and live in serenity forever after.
I'd spend my time learning -- reading any book I could get my hands on, visiting the greatest libraries on this Earth, known just as much for their beauty as for their collection and strive to master Latin, Italian and Swahili. I would indulge in my wanderlust. Most of all, if I could, I would spend it with Tommy.
Yay bookworms! ♥
find a way to steal all the remaining sleeping gas toxins and plunge the world into eternal slumbers
as i study and to learn to control people from their dreams
and execute those i deem unfit to live
by inducing them with the disease S U N D
having eternal life would give me the chance to do this
Experiment on humanity and find a way to bring out the "true" natural creature in them.
So far it has been eventful and pretty much what I want.
I would find a place hidden from the world, and make a place of rest. I would fill this place with rare texts of forbidden lore that I would have collected in my many travels.
I would learn the secrets of The Olde Ways,
And begin building temples and Groves to The Gods Long Forgotten.
I would, once every 349 years, begin to seek out an aprentice journymen.
I would offer them the Way of Magyke, then if they showed tnemselves worthy, I would also offer then a Drop of The Aqua Vitalis, and give them a portion of the Stone of the Philosophes.
Amongst other things.......
I would spend it learning everything I could it would be nice to find someone to spend it with but with all of eternity together you would probable grow apart after a 100 years or so :)
If I had basic funds I would do everything that I figured I wouldn't have time for.
studying, learning, travelling, napping - and as long as I didn't have to watch my weight - eating whatever I wanted.
I would play very long, possibly centuries-long games of conspiracy. I would seek out others like me and try to find out what makes me so immortal and test if its transmittable. Long games as above are more fun when they can be fully appreciated.
I'd probably travel to a few places like Romania, New Orleans, and New York.. maybe study some topics and learn new things. Eventually I'd probably go insane from living for eternity.
I would travel and absorb as much knowledge as possible. I already love to read and would love to continue that passion. I would love to see the world and if I had eternity I could spend as much time in each location as I wanted.
Become bored, Go insane, become so insane I would go back to being sane. rinse and repeat.
I'll learn as much as I can about the world and do my best to help out
If I had an eternity, I would probably read and watch all the anime and manga in the world. Then I would learn how to perfect my piano playing skills (even though I'm almost there already), then I would probably knit a ton of things to try and help the third world countries. Once I get bored of that, I would wait out my parents death so I can inherit their house, move the house to perhaps New York state or maybe Iowa. If all else fails and I get so bored, I would start to interact with the human species and play with their minds. After a while, I may find love. I'm not pushing it though ;3
i would seek love and knowledge - an eternity curled up with an intelligent girl would be heaven
I agree- to be able to be free from having to work for a living, and to learn for the love of learning- that would be a dream come true.
Travel, see what mankind can accomplish next, learn new languages.
ill read books and daydream forever quite happyly and watch anime
I would be one hell of an antiques dealer/information hoarder.
Definitely travel, as if I only had my "lifetime" as it is , I will never have the resources to travel. Then, I would maybe try to find a companion, although I don't find 'human" company all that satisfying. One of my "missions' would be to create a world where people would learn to be kind. I know, sounds like a load of crap. I'd try, regardless. I would end the pain and suffering of the animals humans insist on eating. Eating flesh is barbaric, and unnecessary. Learning to become vegan would be one, and absolutely, my most definite goal. You may find that ridiculous, but I really don't care. This thread is a "what would you do" thread. So, that's what I would do.
i would be a protector that is what i do best,, and learn from everything life has to offer
I would spend eternity with my love. I would learn new things. Travel to every place on my list. I would do anything and everything I have ever dreamt of doing.
I would search for knowledge, and look for a mate worthy of my company.
I would live however I choose to without boundaries and rules. But eventually, I would have no choice to watch the world burn...
Keep one eye on all you freaks and fools whenever I could spare it and both eyes when I could not !
I would travel and explore, learn all the secrets of this earth
So everyone would travel and learn, but what them what would you do for fun?
I would learn to garden the best possible, I would also travel to historic sites to learn about history
I would travel and study and find several mates. It's all of eternity not all alone forever.
Learning can be fun and that is what I would do, travel, learn, and find a mate even more than one, since I have all eternity.
I start the biggest coven the world has ever known... vampire monk forbidden
I would live different types of life and learn everything I could and wouldn't be possible in a normal life. I would make thousand friends and maybe find one mate who lives eternally too.
For Eternity. Now if I was with someone..it would go as followed.
I would make sure i had that someone with me at my side at all times, but yet i wouldn't hold them back if they wanted to travel one side of the world and myself the other. I would do as much as I could with my better half and know and keep the love that was there going and burning every so strong.
If i was a lone, i would travel, but I would take my time to make sure to see and take in everything that was there..collect all that i could and then some, but yet I would try to learn and understand each and every culture there was to be learned, and every single kind of language. I would collect clothing from different places, and see how they lived their lives.
that's what I would do, I mean there is a large world, but yet, if you have Eternity, take your time and take everything little by little, if you rush through it, then you would be out of something to do.
I know that the very first thing I'd do is catch up on some much needed sleep. And whoever woke me up would have to deal with me tormenting them for an eternity. The only relief they'd get is when I was asleep.
Eternity, imagine that. Imagine eternity. Given eternity everything that can be accomplished will be accomplished. Beyond all achievements there would be only limitless, pointless, existence.
100
The first hundred years may be possible,
1000
The first thousand years more painful,
10000
The first ten thousand insufferable, but this is just the start.
10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.....
An eternity would be hell.
If I had all Eternity....
I would most probably be looking at finding of ways to die...Most people always want what they can't have.
I would fight hunger and poverty all over the world helping children and anyone who deserves it. I would hunt down every single rapist and child molesters.
study everything of interest, learn several instruments, gather wealth, travel...
Pretty sure I'd travel and try to find like minded and gifted people.
I would definatley travel around the world. and get many degrees and learn all there is to learn and do all there is to do!
I would spend my time learning all that I could. Although, like one of my favorite characters in a book, I would fall deeper and deeper into insanity if I had no way to fill the time. Although it would be interesting to watch the world die, but only if I could save the one I love.
be with the one I love if he was able to spend eternity with me
travel around the world spend a couple years in each country province state before move on
visit the places I always wanted to see like the 8 wonders of the world and others that are not that popular to all . . soak up the knowledge from those wonders
learn from books n people
play
sex
get into trouble
I would find my soulmate hoping to share eternity with him.
