It's straight out of every cheesy vampire movie you've ever seen: the vampire gets up, walks out into a room flooded with light, and if he doesn't burst into flames, at the very least he winces and puts on a pair of sunglasses. It's an inescapable stereotype: vampires can't stand bright light. Now, it is of course silly to presume that real vampires, when exposed to sunlight, will go up in flames and be reduced to ash. As far as I'm aware, that belief was created entirely by Hollywood and has no basis in vampire folklore whatsoever. Stoker had Dracula running around London during the day - he just made it clear that Dracula's powers were weakened when the sun was up. Most of the vampires in folklore need the help of a good, roaring pyre to be reduced to ash, although folklorically speaking most of the old myths agree that vampires prefer the night for their predations and can rarely be caught out of their coffins after sunrise.
But that's the undead - the myth that has grown up over the ages. Folklore might have a grain of truth to it, but most of it is just nonsense, right? After all, real vampires sleep in beds just like ordinary folk, and it should follow that real, living vampires shouldn't have too much trouble walking around at noon. But there is the uncomfortable reality that sunlight has some kind of effect on us that most of us cannot explain.
I wrestled with this one for quite a while. I tried to convince myself that it was all just in my head and all those uncomfortable physical reactions I was having were purely psychosomatic delusions. I even valiantly tried swearing off my sunglasses on a family trip to Arizona. But it didn't take much of the brutal desert sun to convince me that, psychosomatic or not, I was still completely unable to see unless I had something to shade my eyes. And that's to say nothing of the headache, nausea, and distressingly rapid sunburn.
But then someone made an off-hand observation about sunlight and suddenly it all made sense. The answer was so simple and so obvious that I was amazed that it hadn't occurred to me before. Sunlight is radiation. It's not just visible light. It's heat and ultraviolet rays and a whole lot of other things we can't properly see all pounding down on us. Because of our metaphysical natures, we are highly sensitive to all forms of energy. We react and interact with it in strange ways. How many of us have walked by a television or radio only to have the reception fuzz out in our presence? When we move, whatever disturbance we were causing with the radio waves settles down and the reception clears up again. How many of us have accidentally blown out light bulbs or other electrical appliances with our mere presence? So why wouldn't we have an unusual reaction to sunlight as well?
It's so basic. Sunlight is energy. Metaphysically speaking, it's solar chi. Now, plants are probably the organisms that are best equipped to process solar chi, but most people like feeling the sun warming them as well. It's healthy for them to get a few rays once in a while. Vampires, as discussed earlier, are somewhat disconnected from the ordinary scheme of things. Although we're as human as everyone else physically, something about our spiritual natures makes it almost impossible to process solar chi in any kind of positive fashion. It's too much.
It's too something, because nearly every vampire I have ever spoken with has had about the same complaints regarding sunlight: it hurts their eyes. Prolonged exposure makes them dizzy, nauseous, and weak. The warmth of the sun on their skin does not feel pleasant; it feels prickly, uncomfortable and very, very hot. They burn very easily and in the end have all the symptoms of heat exhaustion or sunstroke after only ten or fifteen minutes outside. Sometimes the reactions are more severe, sometimes they're a bit more bearable, but generally speaking, the vampires who are most sensitive to energy have the most extreme reactions.
Sunlight is radiation. These days, with the ozone layer being depleted so rapidly, the rays that come through to us are pretty unhealthy. Sunlight is getting to be too much even for ordinary people to bear, as can be evidenced by the rising numbers of cases of skin cancer each year. Most ordinary people still don't feel anything negative in the sunlight streaming down on them, but that's because they're so divorced from their subtle senses. When we go out into direct sunlight, our bodies are telling us something. Messages like that are not idle ones. Sunlight is harmful. We're hypersensitive to that harm. We just have to accept that and learn to live with it.
What are your thoughts on the subject of vampires & sunlight?
May the Darkness serve you well,
Lord Seth
Well, in the original silent film "Nosferatu" the vampire was killed by the light of the rising sun. I suppose that lends credence to the film industry spearheading the anti-sunlight thing.
I think this thread should get some good discussion.
Indeed, though the myths apparently have some sense of truth to them... just not as extreme as everyone was meant to believe.
Most myths and legends are started from somewhere. Just after decades of repeating them the "fish always gets bigger".
I think this is a very good and thought out post. Very nice read.
I read a book called "Dhampir" recently where a ghost is telling the vampires to stop whining having to sleep in the dirt of their homeland. That it was only a myth started centuries ago by scared peasants to try to frighten vampires. Good book.
Very well said and well thought out. i had a personal theory about a possibility as well. spontaneoes combustion. in the normal human body, the only thing keeping it from going up in flames is approximately a 2% increase in oxygen content. oxygen goes up by 2% and a strong enough spark....poof. ( yes i know the data is theoretical and no one's survived to have real proof) but think of it this way. what if the heat of direct sunlight and the radiation that was mentioned, creates a chemical reaction with certain elements in a vampires blood that boosts the content by that 2 percent...or perhaps more..5 or 7 even. that might go a long way to explaining the sudden eruptions of flame and the reduction of the day time vampire to ashes. 2% think about it.
There is also the theory linking Vampirism with Porphyria, one of the symptoms is severe sensitivity to bright light. Sometimes this manifests itself as blisters or leisons on the skin that leave permanent damage.
Hmmm... yeah but I don't think that every person that is sensitive to bright sunlight is a vampire, for example I am sensitive to it and even to artificial light.
If you think about it in the scientific format...Vampires adversion to sunlight could be the disease photo-phobia and I forget the other one at this point (will post later)
ok here it is...I had to look it up
pho·to·sen·si·tiv·i·ty (fō′tō-sĕn′sĭ-tĭvĭ-tē)
n. pl. pho·to·sen·si·tiv·i·ties
1. Sensitivity or responsiveness to light.
2. Medicine An abnormally heightened response, especially of the skin, to sunlight or ultraviolet radiation, caused by certain disorders or chemicals and characterized by a toxic or allergic reaction.
humans tend to come up with a weekness for anything that scares them fact or fiction for they cant handle the reality that they are weak
the humans r weak i dont belive that i am a vampire but i know everything has to have a weakness
Sunlight just blinding me...I can't even look at a bright colored surface without shades! No to much exposure in intense sunlight cause's me sunburns..no other effect! To be honest avoid to be in the open during the hours of strong sunlight and I never go out during the day without my very dark sunglasses!
very well said. i think that the myth about sunllight for hollywood vampyres is just that. a myth. the vampyre is such a strong creature that they needed something that would keep them from running around in the daytime. if they dod not the vampyre would rule the world.
on a slightly different note, as for myself i must wear sunglasses anytime i go outside. it just gives me a huge headache if i do not.
Just want to say to 'LordSeth' that this is a very good thread to have started and very interesting!!
very good information. i noticed too that in bram stoker's dracula the vampyre appears during the day. is it a myth? are there different kinds of vampyres? i dont know to be honest.
i myself dont like the sun but i survive it lol
this is a very brilliant post and it makes a lot of points with good hard facts to stand behind it bravo my friend, bravo
ok...I've seen a program on the discovery channel about spontaneous human combustion...that might be why some have thought that vampires have been know to burst into blue flames and burn to nothing but dust except their feet and legs(up to the knee mostly)
and maybe people who get severe sun poisoning where their skin boils and peels away almost immediately in some cases(friend in school was allergic to uv light) maybe thats where these theories stem from
I think that like very race, animal or organism over time they learn to adaapt over time. I think mabey the older generations of vampires would have a sensitivity to light. but the younger newer generations would be use to it.
Solar radiation comes in several forms, but most of it is photons of varying wavelengths - all the way out past extreme UV.
I've always seen vampiric sensitivity to sunlight as an extreme sensitivity to short wavelength electromagnetic radiation...
or maybe there is more than science to it. Maybe the sun is a reflection of god and his kingdom and the reason they burn is because it is a barrier that cannot be crossed. The more we rationalize vampires people the less alluring they seem.I don't want to relive science class again.
I'm noticing lately that many people are trying to prove vampiric existance...why. Is this so that way they can claim that they are truly vampires. Kinda like adhd or add...we ALL possess traits of adhd or add. Same shit to me.
I tend to think that everything boils down to science at some point - nothing unreal exists.
Granted - our frame of reference is somewhat limited at this point - but also remember that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic...
Sure - everything has an explanation - anything that exerts real power in the real world has a real cause that can be quantified or detected - so long as you know what to look for.
Brilliant post my friend!
It makes me feel a little better if I have my sunglasses with me when I walk outdoors during the sunlight.
I also believe that you can build up a sort of "tolerance" to sunlight (as I have) and can stand it for short periods of time. For me personally, the more time I spend in shadow the faster this "tolerance" recovers.
what about the human soul, or spotaneous human combustion, or demonic possession..can all things be explained by science? shc can't.Demonic possession cant either without a religious(not physical or tangible) explaination
Ahhh - therein lies the rub - can't be explained or can't CURRENTLY be explained...
I don't believe that anything "CAN'T" be explained. I believe that there are a lot of things we have unsatisfying or incomplete answers for now... but I look back 100 years, and we've filled in a LOT of gaps over the past century.
Just because we don't have an answer now does not mean that the answer doesn't exist.
Again another interesting article Lord Seth, you just keep them coming! I would like to add this one as well to the Vampire Rave database. Hoping this is okay with you again, if not please message me :)
so then why take the mysticism and magic out of vampires...now it just makes it sound like a disease
In theolder books vampires could withstand early morning light and evening light and older vampires could not only go into the sunlight but weren't weakened. Ofcoarse I've never known one so this is only what I've read.
For the same reason we took the mysticism out of the movement of the planets... or the weather... because we desire to learn how and why things work.
Myths often get distorted with time and presentation. As you stated in your first post, vampire folklore has the creature relegated to the realm of night. Why night? Well, most people were afraid of what they couldn't explain--and it's very hard to explain anything at night with shadows playing tricks on the eyes and the mind. So that is probably the reason why the vampires were placed there. As time went on, the effect of the sun was probably introduced as to the reason instead as to the human fears of the night itself. And then, further still, perhaps with Christian views on the sun and how light in general was supposed to symbolize the holy power of God. As a result, vampires were then turned into instant flambe whenever they entered into sunlight. So, perhaps, it's not necessarily Hollywood that started this myth, but they have helped perpetuate it.
i think ur right it does seem to be that we can sence the "solar chi" sronger then others because we are more atuned to energy and other spirtual stuff
its a greath thread but i have to disagree with some of it. I live in the desert and the sun does not burn my skin, though i do have to have special contacts because it does tend to cause sun spots in my vision. Because being a vampyre tends to make one anemic, i get very cold easily and the sun is a pleasent feeling for it tends to warm me up faster aside from a feeding. I think sun tends to effect different with certain vampyres due to where they live and how they have to live.
This is a great post. Not all living creatures can stand the sun. I cannot be in the sun for very long without feeling light headed, nausea and a sharp pain behind my eyes. Well though out.
It's very obvious that too many people still can't see the context of an article. Seth, I commend you for initiating a great thread with some very valid points. There are certain conditions that ARE common to living vampires. Many of which have been exaggerated severely by Hollywood and fictional authors. Many conditions may not be TYPICAL with all vampires, but COMMON nonetheless. As pertaining to this specific thread, such sensitivity to direct sunlight is very common with living vampires. I suffer the same complications....requiring sunglasses, the weakness, the nausea and the ability to sunburn very easily. Vampirism may still be a mystery to science, but is well documented in almost every known civilization....ancient and modern. There are also accounts of vampiric type creatures written in the extra-biblical Book Of Enoch.
Domangelus said it for me.. Imagine that..LOL. No really though, folklore and hollywood have ruined the conception of a vampire. Next to health conditions, we but all means do not burst into flames in the sunlight.
Thank you everyone for all your comments. There are so many myths and rumors about vampires and sunlight, this is the closest and most factual explaination that I could bring myself to believe.
Folklore hasn't ruined the conception of a vampire, it's the foundation of the vampire. Without folklore there would never have been mention of vampires.
I am a vampire and the sun doesnt really bother me at all.In fact I tend to like it when it is bright and sunny dont have to wear sunglasses or anything guess I am what you term a daywalker HaHa lol sorry bad quote from the movie blade keep up the good work with the forum I like it
I have now entered Lord Seth's articles, "Vampires & Sunlight" and, "The nature of Vampirism" into the Vampire Rave database under articles. If you wish you can rate and leave comments on those two pieces of work there also :)
im not affected by the sun to much it really just hurts my eyes but thats it
Is a really good read and I loved the opinions that followed..Very well done!
You have a very good point, LordSeth. I have never realized the sun as "energy", but now it makes perfect sense as to why vampires are ultra sensitive to it. Thank you again for your very inquisitive and thoughtful information.
I beleive that a great many myths over the centuries have arisen directly from man's ignorance- and not just because he refused to see, but because he didn't have the tools to see as well...many times what some used to call possession was merely mental illness in some form or the other- why not vampirism? cave men threw rocks at the moon, because they didn't understand it-perhaps now that we have the diagnostic tools that are available to us, more information can be gathered and more misconceptions put to rest...
however having said that, I would think that a vampire as a sentient being would thrive, even encourage the rumors and myths, of for no other reason than to use them for cover
Solar chi? I never heard of this before. The idea of the sun being an energy source isn't new. Solar panels have been in use for sometime now. I think this thread is stretching a bit far trying to explain away vampires supposed dislike of sunlight.
I don't know about you but when i go outside my eyes feel hard boiled. My skin feels like its burning (even with sunblock it just takes longer for the burning to become unberable) and i get sick from it. I recently heard throught the grape vine that sunlight also causes the body to produce Vitamin-D. So maybe our bodies has a genetic problem processing that much at one time. Its just a theroy but if anyone can validate it go ahead.
That was a lil bit looonngg..
Oh well, in vampire myth's, the vampire would be incinerated by the sun..why? Because the vampires are creatures of the night..
Well, that's just what the myth said..though in Dracula, the vampires won't be incinerated in the sun, BUT they'd be less powerful.
the tie in between sunlight and radio waves is an excellent thought. it has happened to me, the whole radio static scenario. it makes sense. i myself tan pretty well, but only after getting burnt to a crisp. i could blame my portuguese ancestory, but i can't stand light. i wear my glasses in cloudy weather.
People like to make things up to be interesting. You know like santa claus. wow i feel retarded. But ya know its a myth.
lol yes, but then again movies have butchered everything to do with vampires...sad isnt it?:(
hey ano sum ppl dat wnt to be vampires how would u subject that they turn
In Russia and Poland, legends have vampires attacking people between noon and Midnight.
And your eyes should have hurt being in the Arizona desert with no sunglasses. I love being out in the sun. It doesn't bother me at all. I function equally well, day or night.
im with him *points up* i function almost well in the sun..its what happens when you live in death valley...
lifesabitchsoami, people can't be "turned" or made into vampires. Real Vampirism is a spiritual condition. A modification in ones subtle body made long ago in an ancient past life.
i actually work better in the night,i sleep better in day,my eyes are sensative to sunlight, yet i do not burst into flames(comic book b.s.)
I have very sensitive skin, and it happens to be the hottest day in October in England for about 15 years I heard. I don't feel comfortable, and after prolonged exposure to one side of my face, it started to hurt.
I don't think that makes me a vampire in the mythical sence, but it does make me aware that my skin isn't up to scratch with its UV and heat handling capabilities.
I do agree with your point about psychosimatic reactions when one has a series of beliefs, and often that can lead to confusion.
I can relate very much to the signs of being exposed to bright lights. Since I was a child I could only be outside in the sunlight for a short while. Since I have become older I have a little more time than I did before. If I go out in sunlight and I am exposed to the direct light too long, I will start to get headaches, which get worse as I stay in the light. Eventually I will pass out. I have tested my time and I can only be there for 1hr or less, that is in direct sunlight. Should I be in the shade I can be there up to 3 hours. The other things that happens to me is that I can not think clearly during the day light hours, It seems that when the sun goes down, no matter how tired i am that day, I seem to get my energy back. Its not a problem to me in anyway, no matter what happens, I perfer the night anyway. :)
they say werewolves hate silver and that most demons can be fought with a simple cross...It's just one of those rediculous thing that they come up with for self comfort...
I know that if im out in the sun for 15 -30 mins it feels like im going to collapse and die.
I have a condition known as solar uticaria... it causes extreme skin reaction to light such as skin blitering and lesions, if in the sun too long.. and a really irritating rash if not out that long... also i suffer from photophobia which causes my eyes to have many problems with the light.. i must wear very dark shades when i go out into the sun... it could be these conditions that also have the root of the vampire sunlight myth....just a theory.
Really the sun only bothers me when I am in the darkness of my own house and someone decides to come on in and make themselves at home and open the blinds on me or somthing...Other than that the sun can be used at your advantage..Make yourself look like your a regular human, no one will ever know...Do you get what I am saying if not...Then I am here...
that was a good post i enjoyed reading it kudos to you lord seth
"...I was still completely unable to see unless I had something to shade my eyes. And that's to say nothing of the headache, nausea, and distressingly rapid sunburn."
Well, if I may be so bold as to be honest, when the sun reflects off of the sands of a desert (any desert, though white sand deserts are the worst), I can't see either, without sunglasses. The same thing happens on a sunny day with snow on the ground(which is why I've been seen wearing sunglasses in December).
And as to the rest of that, the headache, nausea, and sunburn, um.....we like to call that "heat stroke", and it has nothing to do with a vampiric "allergy".
I for one do go out in the day but I do have to wear sunglasses to protectmy eyes as they are sensative to bright light in that I mean as bright as the sun I can not see good during the day time. Trust me if I could do everything I need to do during the day at night I would never come out of the house during the day time...
I'm pretty sensitive to sunlight, but I blame tht on Irish roots. I don't consder myself a vampire.
I have to have shades and burn easilly. And in doors I look pale. I the sun my skin looks like milk or note book paper.
As far as vamps being destroyed by sunlight i don't know. I really like the idea of it. Makes it more romantic in a way.
Good point, but as far as I guess"real" vampires go how will we truely know....we're not the undead....but the point about humans I think is ture...
I've never thought about it that way, but it makes perfect sense...
in Arizona you are dealing with really 3 things, first the normal sun which is of course the brightest star in our universe, then you have that sun bouncing off of the sand that makes up the desert that is arizona and then you have the heat of the sun first shining down then being reflected back at you off of the sand much like the light. It more than likely had less to do with the atmosphere as it did the combo above. I have problems with heat myself. It makes me want to pass out or throw up one of the two sometimes both
Wow... that was a really long post and really informative... I never knew that stuff about them..
yeah you are tight but what do you expect they are makeing movies on what they herd as little kids
finally someone who publically desmissis the hollywood sterio type exadgerations. i dont like the sun at all but there are some things you just cant do without it
that is true..i've heard the same stuff since i was a kid
just goign back to possesion for a moment, i think that there has been an explantion. in Anne Rice's 'the tale of the body thief' she says that if like in out of body travel you rise from you body and some one else's soul moves in to thier body. they then must either find another body to ocupy or struggle to regian thier own
they say that that which cannot be explained by science is not real...but do we always take into consideration the fact that science at the time is only what we KNOW at the time? 100 years ago, AIDS wasn't even heard of, not was a cure for polio, measles, or any of the other thousands of diseases we have successfully learned to control. I know that when I lived in Las Vegas, I did EVERYTHING at night, primarily because it was more practical for me as a bartender and because the sunlight and heat were monstrous-but science is only as up to date as the next discovery, and perhaps there are many more left yet to know?
i'm sorry but vampires don't like sun. it doesn't mean that we're going to go up into a ball of flam if we step into it. if that were so, there would be like one or two vampires left. the whole thing is to get vampires scared of sun. sure we don't like it. in fact we hate it and do burn easily but other than getting burnt and actting iritated or different then what's "normal", nothing will happen. trust me, i go to scool durring the day. i'm still around. just wear my sunglasses in the day.
I completely agree with you. Hollywood just changes things to make money
heightened sensitivity to all forms of energy (in some vamps cases) is an explanation.
sunlight hmm as a nocturnal predator most vampyres by nature hunt the night and rest in the day like all other species of night hunters daylight just exposes them to their prey and makes the hunt more diffacult so they choose not to be around that much during the day and overtime have developed a sensetiveity to light like an animal that spends most of its time in the dark will but other than that sunlight has no negative effect on vampires smile
wolf of wolfspirits
it makes me mad that they do that in movies becasue I love to sunbathe...
in my experince, I have found that I do prefer the night...and I always have.....there will be an occassional day when i feel extremely full of energy and optimistic and will go out in the sun and dance about like a child...but his is rare.....I tend to prefer the somewhat cooler, darker months....where I need not worry about the heat or the inexplicable exahuastion that comes from the sun....I have been this way for as long as I can recall...it's odd really
I really don't know much about vampires but I did find this thread to be very interesting. It let me in on information I never thought of thanks.
i have alwaz hated the sun but since my embrace i REALLY REALLY REALLY HATE IT...
their just movies they do it for intertainment it might be a little ofbut who cares its just like telling the people giving them hope by telling them that we dont come out in the day time
I've never paid any mind to it, but all the symptoms that you experienced after being in the sun for a few minutes happen to me too. I've never called myself a vampire nor thought that I was one. I've often wished to be one ever since I was a child, but never believed that I was one.....
Does me experiencing those symptoms make me a vampire? I mean...I would think that if I were I would know it....
its nice to see yet another person here who thinks about the words they write for a thread dont just say something random thats been brought up countless times with the same exact context. it was a very nice thread to read. some interesting points
It is considered by most historians, as well as those who study myths and legends, that just about every myth, legend and even most fairy tales all can be traced back to some actual facts. Unfortunately, the facts get amplified and exaggerated if not completely changed throughout the years. It is like playing the children's party game "Telephone" were one sentence gets whispered from one child to the next until by the time the last child hears it. it has only few similarities to the original statement.
you do post really interesting things onto this site, i also believe that most of what you right is very true. kudos to you.
It's really hard for me to be outin the day without heavy black sunglasses on. My eyes are very light sensitive. Even long exposure to flourescent light will cause terriable migrains and make me very tired. Ii can't be out in the sun for more than a few hours before II get completly drained.
At first Ii thought it was my eyes, so Ii went to the eye doctor, and he found nothing rong with my eyes. Ii also had a c.a.t. scan done not too long ago that showed up normal.
Maybe this light thing just effects people differently from person to person.
Great post
yes it is a myth, in order for outsiders not to know the truth. Such a being that has such powers would be able to cloak and adapt to places in order to move about. As for me I will never be pale I was born in Cuba and also have Indian blood. Just going outside to my car or walking to the store my skin will darken all on its own. My eyes are a dark brown with natural reddish coppler color in it. my eyes are sensitive to sun light sometimes to the point that I cant stant it and get a headach. I need to wear sunglasses to drive and even then sometimes it still hurts. Silver of Wolfspirits
That explains a lot. But still it doesn't explain everything like the whole silver thing. I personally I have no problem with silver, and half the myths about vampires have a clause about how vampires are allergic to silver. I for one am slightly sensitive towards sunlight, and do weird stuff to electronic stuff. But that doesn't make me anymore or any less human than anyone else. Or any better or any worse than anyone else.
silver, is sacred to the moon, this metal in its purity will affect the other spiritworlds in its magjkal
properties. It is used by witches and other magicians. Hollywood just twisted things around. again adding to the myths!
Silver of wolfspirits
Very nicely put...i loved it...and i totally agree with it...at first i was really confused about the whole sun vampire thing but reading this really cleared things up...GREAT job...
on a completely different subject, i had a picture in my portfolio awhile back & was removed due to not having rights to it(bad renfield) i dont remember where i found it. it was a white picture on a vampire face pushing through white latex all you could see was the the silhoutte of the face. if any one can tell me where to find it i would appreciate it-its for a new tattoo--thanks
Another very good article. Strangely enough, the thought had never crossed my mind until I read this, and I think you're exactly right.
This condition makes one sensitive to all forms of energy, and sunlight contains many types of scientific and metaphysical energy properties.
Personally, I have found that sunlight hurts my eyes and that the intensity of the pain relates to my energy levels from feeding. I also burn very easily in the sun (it was long thought to be because I'm a redhead, but now I believe there's more to it)... it takes SPF 70 sunscreen reapplied every hour for me to go out in the sun for extended periods of time.
Not every perosn that is sensitive to sun light is a vampire.
As for vampires that are sensitive to sun light I don't know if they are,I know some who are but don't know the rest.
I am sensitive to sunlight and sometimes to artificial too for example but it's just a medical condition.(Had to repeat this since no one read it.)
Nice post, slightly long but informative but i agree with Jay it might just be photophobia or the other one.
Like Ive said before...as far as I have ever understood it...they cannot bear the sunlight because it is god's light.
i personally just HATE the sunlight...i am somewhat allergic to it as well, so if i am exposed to it for any extended period of time, i end up covered in hives which is very discomforting to say the least...however, i just do not enjoy the brightness of the sun, or the way it burns my eyes and it makes me feel very nauseus and tired...i dont feel really awake or alert until after the sun has set
hmmm i would have to agree with your theory although still lacking the proper facts that would make it a proper theory it is very well thought through and posesses the ability to be great.
well on this one im gonna have to say that film makers and writers have a tendancy to dramatize everything so in that note...Great job again...
vamps that burst into flames because of sunlight that is funny but untrue
as you can tell by my picture...im still around...haha...
hmmm idk i do find it harmful but not to the point that i blow up in flames i just dont feel good in the light and my skin burns
I enjoy going to outside, and I have never had a problem with the sun. Granted I have to wear sunglasses and my skin tingles, but never have I or any of my peers burst into flame or turn into ash. I believe that it is all Hollywood crap.
I think that we vampires are sensitive to the sunlight at least I am. Its not that I don't like it its just that I am sensitive to it. Very good points I think though.
again i would have to agree with theblairwitch......she makes a good argument about the sunlight and vampires
Vampires are affected by sunlight cause they stay young by the nano's in their system consantly repairing their bodies. but when suns hits thieir bodies, just like a human body, it kills cell. then the nanos work hard to fix the cells with causes agitation to the vampire
As far as I go I have an eye condition that is hypersensitive to light from birth but my night vision is incredible my skin is fine in the sun I used to surf in jr. high but I have been working night crew so long I have a nice china white complexion I thank it's all up to who you are and there is no set standered for vampires as with humans
If you enjoy this article it is also in the Member Articles, were you can comment and leave your rating for it.
I think everyone has their limits on how much light they like to have, mine happens to be minimal.
