I was just wondering if a vampire would have a soul like a human does?

It does really depend on your beliefs. If you don't believe in spirituality then I wouldn't think so. Vampires suck the blood out of the living for their own life so I don't know what amount of relevance it would have to the soul since if they had one they'd have no use for blood. Unless it's just for an outing of fun to prevent their bodies from decay and in the condition of the charming and captivating sex-symbols most find them to be. Also, the post I made before about vampires and silver which can represent the soul was the best guess I could make, but I wouldn't count on it being my main cogitation. Probably doesn't matter since it's just belief and speculations. After all, vampires are legends and there's most likely no logical reasoning behind them. Granted, I do, of course, know they're real (Myself being one of them. The blood, the energy, the satisfaction) but not necessarily utililized for anything in particular. We don't exactly rise from the grave in search of our next donor or transform into bats just as Wiccans don't ride on brooms or have green skin.

erm...According to many theories and many things I read, not only the souls of vampires wonder around after the body's death...Are all accounts of spirits and ghosts visions of vampire spirits or vampire ghosts? I don't think so.

If you are not familiar with Vampires of today- let me explain a little...

Today people are living lives as Vampires. One of these are what they call psychic vampires (or psy, psi, chi, or even prana vamps). In a nutshell they are feeding off of energy rather than blood. A sanguinarian is a blood drinker. Sang is the shortened form of this word. A sanguinarian Vampire is a Vampire who "drains" the life energy (chi, prana, whatever) of a person using their blood. It does happen- you can find them if you look. And honestly in my opinion they are living respectable, moral lives- only 'feeding' with consenting adults. Anyone calling themselves a Vampire and not following this code really is not the majority.

See I think yes, when someone dies, completely stops living and moving, they lose their soul, but Vampires die and are walking dead or whatever so I think they do have a soul, they have feelings right? Maybe not the full range of feelings that humans have but at least some.

i feel that the soul remains with the body so long as the body remains active...just becuz the person has died does not mean that the soul detaches...if there is still an entity within the body, the soul can remain attached to the entity

But, the soul is eternal- so even if a thing were clinically dead, its soul must still exist somewhere, at some level of energetic reality.

Could it be that the soul is brought back into a dead body and this constitutes the vampyric need to replenish the soul energy on a regular absis, as it is no longer 'connected' to the universal flow in the normal way. (it would still exist in an environmantal sense, but would have been 'severed' as it were, from the main feed.)

Ii would have to say, yes we do. In myth, the vampire had no soul, and that is why he drank from the souls of others. I myself have one. Ii just think depending on the person, that it may choose to lay doemant after a while.

I agree with imageinwords. We HLVs do have souls. I believe that everyone is born with a soul and as they live, that soul either turns black and evil or becomes lighter due to what they've done in their life.

I have a trapped sole, I think. Every time I do something bad my heart and lungs ack. At least I think that is my sole doing that. But then I digress. I believe that some soles leave and others are stuck. I think it all depends on how you were killed and what you were like when you died.

I agree until the body dies the soul has a place to live kinda like a house... and it doesn't want to leave until it has to and can no longer stay in that house and being that a vampire starts giving the soul what it needs because it can no longer get it on its own....it can continue to live there so in a sense the vampire is feeding its soul and keeping the house kept up and livable but not being able to trade it in for a new house until the one it has stops providing for and taking care of the soul.... that is my belief kinda like a poor soul cause it can't get ahead no matter how hard it tries until its host is dead and it can relocate....

More people believe in the tooth fairy than they do that vampires possess souls. The soul , to ME , is life force . The spark that starts you up when you're born and fades when you die . So yes , vampires seem to have that spark [or tap into a greater one , commonly known as Satan, the Devil , evil etc. - since they MUST be evil , right ? =P] .

no I wasn't exactly referring to psych vamps I mean that a body is like a house for a soul and as long as there is a body no matter what shape it is in the soul will remain there because that is where it is comfortable and maybe it is scared of leaving or whatever....but until it has no othre choice I do not believe it will leave the body it was put with to find another home as far as finding another home goes so to speak that would be that the soul has to find something that doesn't already have a soul attatched which means a new creature kinda like reincarnation but that goes way off subject.....

it is believed that in myth that due to the belief that a vampyre is the walking dead, they are not able to house a soul. It also believed that due to the fact that they feed on the essence of those who are alive, they are doomed.
my belief is that its just another darn myth to try to seperate those who have disorders that have them fall under the category of "vampyre". vampyres are human and thus are alive. they breath and have faith in things, thus they have a soul, weither it be a good one or bad...

My belief is that a soul is an abstract thing, it's not based upon if your undead or human.
All things have it's own soul.
The tree's, the mountain, animals, everything.
And a Vampire is a part of the nature.
So therefor they have a soul.

from a christian point of veiw, souls are your entire being, and they are whats inside you that send you to heaven or hell.
athiests would think that your body defighns who and what you are, your soul is merely a copy so to say.
i personally beleive that they are just a fairytale or folk lore, in my concept of souls, its more of a prison concept of your being trapped in your body, in those terms, i tend not to believe in spirtitual energies in the form of souls

I always thought of the vampire having some form of a soul. But thats just me.

In the book I'm currently writing vampirism is more like a sickness, it attacks the brain and the body. Basically, it makes all of the musciles permenatly tighten (giving more strength) and in turn does two things, it severs most nerve endings (making them feel less pain), unfortounatly however, the loss of feeling drive most vampires to insanity, most of them dont live past 30 year or so before they finally kill themselves. The rest however are ageless.

However when around 600 years or so pass, the truth of vampirism comes to light. Basically along with the virus, vampires are puppets of the fallen angels, and after years they finally grow wings resembling what they once were.

In a sense, no, a vampire is one who sold there soul for immortality, this was to show there hate for God and dify him for what he is. I do believe a vampire has a heart though, i belive that your soul is who you are, your brain is what you think, your body is what you do, and most of all, your heart is what you feel. This beliefe comes from the fact that vampires do not ruthlessly kill and show intrests in music and poetry and writing

Its a very interesting question that would have to have a lot of thought. Im not sure if they actually do or not seeing how they are living and dead at the same time.

I'm not all that sure about this but , Ive been lead to believe in two difrent ways.

1- No a vampire has no soul since they are dead, meaning is mearly an empty body that can only live by feeding on blood.

2- A vampire is a soul that has taken over a dead body, easier to steal, & since its dead the only way to leave is to drink blood.

As you can see I am really not so sure on this matter.But I will star looking on it.
