What do you think happens after death. After a person lives and then dies what really happens to them. I would love to hear all of your opinions.
i think a person never dies i think they just stay here on earth
i believe in reincarnation, maybe when i die i will be reborn as on of my childrens kids or a famous rock star. . . or maby i will have learned all of the lessons needed to become one with the underworld no one ever knows when they have learned all that there is to learn. just my thoughts
You go back to the source of all spirits that is if you believe there is a life stream that maintains the balance of what is created and what would be gone in this mortal plane.
You've gone to a higher level of living close to being perfect some instances makes the Source of all spirits somewhat like God. In some old philosophy they said that a human's soul are part of god's whole being and as we die we go into a higher level to be closer to God/main source again.
Or my fave answer of life after death, it really does not exist. I believe people who are afraid to be forgotten made this Life after death stuff to give some false hope for themselves. pesimistic, I know.
There is nothing, its like a long and everlasting sleep nothing more nothing less.
Yea that is true well......there is things is the Hindu religion also saying about being reborn in a higher form until you reach god. So I guess you all are right by saying reincarnation. Thanks all.
I personaly belive in what our souls flow within what I call The River of Ages. Our sould are fed to the Eldar Gods.
I think it depends on what you believe. I think this shell we carry is what gets buried or cremated..either way..The spirit/essense of who we were moves on.I believe in re-incarnation.
Speaking from personal experience, what I remember of death is that it is...well, rather hard to describe. For me at least, it was both light and dark, a kind of balance between all aspects. There weren't any emotions, just nothingness.
And just so we're all clear, I was clinically dead for I believe two minutes before my older brother managed to bring me back.
This is very similar to the reincarnation thread, so forgive me for repeating. At its deepest level, matter is an illusion. What we perceive to be solid, or "real," actually consists of energy and empty space. In fact, all matter is 99.9999% empty space. The rest is just energy. And energy cannot be destroyed, only transformed. So when our physical bodies die, the energy that makes up the essence of "us" remains. Where does it go? It has to go somewhere...it is transformed into...what? That's the big question...
You have already answered the question...Pure energy...
When I died temporarily, maybe about 2 or 3 minutes, I remember blackness, not complete blackness, but a shadowy blackness tinged with dark blue...it was a scary feeling...so if we are doomed to nothingness over death, then I don't know if I could stand that thought...
Then again, it could very well depend on what you believe in. When I died, I was young with no beliefs, thus, nothingness. Now I believe spirits can roam the earth as spirit guides to the needy...
Just my own opinion, of course...
if life ever enters me, then i am sure i will experience death. at that piont im sure a refrence energy of my existance will blend with other energy, what purpose this new energy shall seek to task is a matter for the matrix equation desplayed in the book .d
i believe everyine goes to the same place. evil or not. good or bad. they are all dead so they are al the same. when people are dead they are dead. theres nothing different about them.
If that is what you believe, that is what you will be...
My personal belief is that our shell dies but our spirit carries on to be placed into another form. Our energy never dies.
I believe that when you are dead you cease to exist.
You are dead
I belive that when you die, your body is destroyed and you take a new form wether it is as an animal or another human depends on how you lived your life.
Yea I am starting to believe myself that it depends on what you believe in. Or then again just pure energy.
There's nothing after death... however I would like to believe that there's something.
At one moment I may believe that I'll go up to some other religion's god, and that god will yell at me for not believing in that religion. I'd feel bad, but there are too many religions to believe in. How can you choose which one is right and which one is wrong? Just because your parents believe in it? I fear over that.
And at another moment, I feel that whatever you believe in is what's going to come after you. I often say "Whatever you believe in hard enough will come true to you in the end", because thats what I'd like to believe. This would be wonderful unless you live in fear of what you believe in.
And at another angle, I just secretly absolutely fear death.. like there is nothing beyond where we are... just no conciousness.. no nothing.. not even a thought. it's like I never existed-- the people still on earth may know me, but I may have never met myself, nor anybody else. I'd completely ciese to exist.. this is what I fear the most...
But other than that, I believe in REINCARNATION because the belief of a heaven to me is completely flawed and doesnt make since.
This might be a little gloom and doom like but i don`t belive anything happens.I`m atheist (sp) so i don`t belive thers a heaven or hell. I think once you die thats it no 2nd chances no recarnation, just an end. then again though the only people that can or could answer that , can`t. So frankly who know what`ll happen till it does.
The way I'm feeling at the moment I could do with a dose of death, I'm normally not this melancholy but hell with it...
i would love something morbid but i believe in heaven and hell
Well, you see, a friend of mine has, well, you know, died. He says he came to a fiery place with a dark ceiling. The flames were not hot and did not feed from anything. He felt a dark presence and awoke. We do not know if he truthfully went to another world but there are many beliefs.
Some say that after this world there will be nothing. You will not exist. I am truly fond to this explination.
Then there is always the fact that humans and other creatures fear death. This could be because there is judgement after death as in the Bible of the Christians. But there is still another explination for being scared of death. Every being alive today understands death, so it is easy to understand that when one dies, others will feel for the loss. So if one were to die thereself, they would be afraid of leaving others.
Then there is reincarnation. Beings believe that after death you are brought to another host, body, self, ect. The body is thought of as a shell or casing for a soul or spirit and after the shell expires the soul moves to another body. Some believe that reincarnation can move to the base animal relm too. Such as if a human died and became reincarnated as a dog.
Next, you come to the belief of ghosts, spirits, poltergeists, ect. Some think that after death, for either a reason or none at all, the soul will walk the place they died for eternity.
Finally there is the belief of dimensional transportation. Some beleive that after death you will be transported to another realm of ghosts, for a reason no one is sure, but the place is endless of size and holds all who die to ponder this empty realm for eternity.
This is all I can tell you for now, because I'm not oo sure about others I've heard, but there is an endless possiblilty of things that can happen in "life after death."
in exactly the moment you die fnially - somewhere on earth or benath our imaginaton is dsomeone /thing else born.
and this wil be you again
im kinda hoping for re-incarnation,anda chance to do things better than i did this time
I hope we go to a better place when we die, but i surpose its what you belive in when you live that decides that . Myself i hope some kind of vallhalla is out there tc
there is no such thing as "dead energy". that is an oxymoron - so something has to happen to the energy of the self.
I personally think energy recycles itself into another life. That is why we get past life issues at times.
(This is an extremely brief description of my theory.)
I do not think that it is the end. If we are matter, then matter cannot be created or destroyed, only it's form changed. What we become after death I do not know
But what if you don`t go to either of those planes of the hear after ? What if you wasn`t finished in life , you would be stuck limbo to rome the earth untill the end of days.
I believe the body dies but the soul or your beings live on.
~Master Damien~
I Believe That After Death..
We Become Something New..
&& That We Can Still Communicate With Out Loved Ones
I believe that once you leave your current host body, that you go on to the next, I think that you remain doing that until you have lern't whatever it is that you had to learn!
what do you believe? what do you think happens after we die or as i put it take our final step to the unkown, i beleive what a person beleives thats whats gonna happen. me personnaly? i believe that we are taken to shangri-La whare we live great afterlives and if we are still not satisfied we are reencarnated
I have two opposit opinions on what happens after death. I think either, depending on your life, you go to heaven or hell. Or you start another life until you get it right.
i believe there is something after death. hell, because i have seen what evil minded spirits/demons can do first hand. they had to come from somewhere. heaven, because when i was in Desert Storm, during an attack, i was taken to a wonderful place (heaven?) and able to see my father (he died 2 months before). however, he advised it was not my time and i was taken back to a there and then. i wish i could have stayed there with him. this plane of existence sucks!
I dont think things or people really die .. They remain in energy or in other forms .. Its really something we will never know .
I would like to think its not the end. I believe in reincarnation, we are all just energy and that cannot be destroyed but simply changed into something else. Its so difficult to answer as we can think it over for our entire lives but nobody really knows what happens until it does.
I believe faith makes reality. You will go where you believe you will go
i am against the whole "beleiver thing" i think when u die, u rot until there is nothing left...
It's an interesting topic. Here's my view on what I believe happens after death. It's true that we are matter. Once the body dies the soul, or spirit live on. We are sent to a place to await the end of the world and to be judged for what we've done with our lives.
Now here's where my beliefs may offend some people. I hope not but it may.
just before the day of judgement our bodies will be reunited with our spirits, never to be seperated again. We are made whole. After this life, well life goes on. we continue to learn, to gain experience and to better ourselves. That's my belief. If you want to talk about it some more feel free to send me a message.
I myself sadly have died clinically. i feel as though i knew what happened. it was black. there was nothing. no scenes of life flashing before my eyes. no light. darkness. it wasn't the first time. akward indeed.
An endless image of exactly what your last thought was as you die burns on for eternity.
hell is for those who die in fear and the fear burns this
heaven is a figment made for those who died in peace
and darkness for those who can open their eyes again and see all the stupid fools who are still watching their last thoughts like the insane to a hallucination
I believe that we pass from this life to the next one. Death from this life is birth into the next one, and each "next life" we get allows us to fix mistakes that were made in the previous life, even if we come back as a different gender, species, or even just...a tree. lol I know that last part probably didn't make sense but I got a brain fart in the middle of my thoughts. I hope that the majority of this post made sense to ya!
when you die, you (your soul or whatever you wish to call it) returns to the source and if you have achieved enlightment in this life you may stay, otherwise you return to the physical realm for another round until you're ready.
enlightment isn't some theoretical magical thing, it's the path of understanding how the universe and therefor in a way the meta-physical principal works, it's all about leaning and developing, and the decision if you wish to replace ignorance with understanding.
i beleve that the spirit never dies.........your body just have had enuff abuse and cant handle your spirit inside of it anymore...... i bleve that your on still here on earth just floating around........ i beleve that is why miricales happen b/c the kind souls hrlp other souls that are still in there hosts body.....i also bleve that is why we have tragitys b/c there are very evils souls who get injoyment out of ruining others souls lives...
I was just talking with a friend on this subject...
Here is the excerpt of what I said about my personal beleifs...
Even if there is no life after death I don’t believe that it means life is meaningless. I do think everything we do matters. All the choices even the very little ones we make affect other and the world at large in profound but mostly imperceptible ways. As for what I really believe about the afterlife… It’s something we must earn, by evolving our souls. Not in the Christian way of buying a ticket into heaven with a few I’m sorries and a lot of hypocrisy, but through a lot of soul searching, introspection, and genuinely trying to change yourself where you know you’ve failed to be kind. Fail and you get oblivion, succeed and who knows…. I don’t believe in heaven and hell the way I was taught to in Bible school. I suspect that they are the same place. As well as Valhalla, The All, Paradise, Elysium, The Summer Country and on and on. It’s just an opinion though. The conclusion that feels right to me, even if it’s dead wrong.
nothing, after death nothing happens. so live life to the fullest
i believe that it is when you die your body turns into dust and your spirite goes south or north it depends what you have done in your life
i think u will be reincarnated or u will liv ein the realm of the immortals as weird as it may sound
i am most believing in the reincarnation of souls...have you noticed that while all the non-speech-capable animals have been losing numbers, the humans have been gaining constantly?...the souls of the animals go to the humans, and then back again...i could go more in to depth but i feel i should cut this short here
you reincarnate
i have memories of at least 5 lives that ive lived before..........
soldier in the atlantian army
palace gaurd in egypt for the priestest
prince in england
native american twice
I believe that after death our souls continue to remain and then we are reincarnated if we did not fullfill out fate yet.
Interesting... What happens after you die, hmm? Well, seeing as I have been there and done that as such, I've only been able to "remember" one thing. The first time I came close was when I was at the Halloween parade in West Hollywood, Ca - some idiot spiked some of the free soda they were giving out with GHB, and several people got taken to the hospital that night, including me... Apparently I stopped breathing at some point, because I woke up later, intubated and such. The first thing I remember thinking, upon waking up, was "Where's Sid?". My friend Sid - who I had dated at one time- had died about 5/6 months earlier. I remember asking that too, although I was still rreeallly out of it when they took the tube out - Where's Sid, he was right here...?
The last time I came close, apparently, was when I was in the hospital due to endocarditis and some *very* bad heart and lung issues. I was in a coma for two weeks, in the hospital for two months, and they told me that I was resuscitated a couple of times. I literally came _ _ That close to dying... Except this last time, I don't remember anything. I had a fever of 106/107, was coughing up double handfuls of blood and came very close to having my mitrial valve replaced... But I don't remember anything from when they brought me back. It's rather upsetting at that, since I know that I will be dying an earlier than "normal" death, and most likely due to congestive heart failure... I'd really like to know, for myself, remember maybe... Or maybe Sid will just come back for me... I don't honestly know...
I believe in reincarnation also. When i die I wished to be placed in the Ocean as my mother was and become one of natures beautiful creatures of the Water. For i love water, maybe as a dolphin or such.
I believe in reincarnation, but I guess it's up to the individual and what they believe in the end.
u go to hell or heaven . no big deal...and then u reborn
You go to your own personal Heaven or Hell, and are reincarnated pending how good of a life you lead with your beliefs ranging from the best Heaven Imaginable- Beer tester for Budweiser to the worst hell possible - 12 year old Boyscout knocking on Jeffery Daumer's door.
i honestly dont belive in the idea of heaven or hell or a soul. i belive there is something in you that travels maybe your energy but the point is you never really cease to exist you are "recycled" in a way. reincarnation is what im trying to say
My Wiccan beleifs are as the followin:
When you die, your spirit goes to the Summerland where you await to be reincarnated.
Yep, that it.
-Lord P. Shadowloo
After death, it is up to God what happens to you. Whether you believe it or not, thats what will happen. Unless you have died and your spirit lingers on earth, then that just signifies that you have unfinished business here.
i dont know i just hope that i go to hell and see all the best rock bands of all time
I believe in reincarnation, so this shell we call a body decays in the ground or gets burnt to ashes..what matters is what dwells within..
I believe that it depends on what religion you practice.....what you believe.....
I believe it works a little differently, once your body dies, you (your soul) returns to it's source.
It then is irrelevant what religion you believed in or how you practiced your beliefs as long as you have used your physical and mental powers to do good rather than to cause harm to the ones you shared your world (in this case earth)with.
It all depends on how much you have developed as a soul while you have been bound to to your body in the physical realm, if you have come to the point of understanding (enlightment) and therefor have risen above your physical origin.
If you have done so in this life you may choose to stay in the meta physical realm some call heaven or you may prefer to return to the physical world(s) to learn more.
Until a Soul hasn't reached the point of enlightment it returns over and over again until it finally does, kind of like a intercosmical filtration process.
Christianity as well as Islam and especially Buddhism teach this principle, it's just that most people tend to fall for the propaganda part rather than reading between the lines.
What I just wrote one post before this one is the very essence of all major religions, but they all have been corrupted by man to the point where the holy books of the world are one great paradoxum.
They all share the one key to the great mystery of "what happens after death"
but with so many disinformations implemented by man they lost their authencity and therefor their creditability.
I think we die then our life force energies cycles into some other form. It is well known in science that energy is never ending, always changing and I think we are no expection to that.
i dont know what happens after death, nor do i think we are suposed to know... i suppose it depends on the person that you are etc
I support the theory of reincarnation, though I have never died so I would not know.
Shadowgirl
If we are reincarnated would not know our prevoius life we could have 1000 times I believe we go were we belong.
A cycle, just like everything else on earth. Everything is part of the cycle. When you die you either pass the test and go to higher planes or fail the test and go to lower planes/or reincarnate on earth again :)
BOnBOn
I lean heavily toward reincarnation
If we do go to another realm, I can only hope that it like the movie "What Dreams may come" and your heaven is what you want it to be.
I believe that before you are reincarnated you return to the source for verification, if you have achieved enlightment in your previous physical existence you may stay with the others.
If you still need more experience and developement or you chose to assist others to gain enlightment you continue your eternal journey from there on to another place in the physical realm.
I definantly believe something occurs after life. We were NOT all an accident from some odd space throw up mixture. @_@ Of course that is just me... I know others have their own opinions in this and I respect that just as long as I don't get fwapped for my own thoughts. I also believe highly in ghosts if that is relavent in this thread.
Well, the ideas of heaven and hell seem illogical. Places set aside for ALL the souls that have passed since the dawn of man would be pretty full, wouldn't they be?
Reincarnation doesn't mean much to me. If reincarnation is real, then I should have past lives. I haven't been able to recall these past lives, my past lives aren't controlling me, there seems to be no connection. If your past lives are dormant, then death still doesnt' offer any real continuation. I've never heard of a person ACTUALLY being able to bring forth a past life, just memories or dreams.
However, the idea of souls being 'recycled' is what I could understand most. The world works on cycles that keep itself going, it would seem to make sense that our life would be the same.
Then there are ghosts. Some type of anomole in the cycle. I haven't had any experience with this but I'm still hoping that one day we'll have concrete proof on it.
I don't know what happens but I like to think we go on as spirits.
I think that you could go to hell, purgatory, heaven...karma could kick in and you're reincarnated into something.
There are a couple of proven facts that cause me to believe the way I do. The first is that nothing can be truly created nor destroyed, changed - yes, but never created or destroyed. The second is that inthe instant of your death, your body loses 21 grams of wieght. If this is so, then likely it is the soul. This soul, therefore must go on to become something else. I believe the period in between forms varies, and that is why there are such things as ghosts, but eventually your soul will move on. As to exactly what, I am not exactly sure. But you will go on.
Again, this is just my belief.
hmmm I can't cling to any one belief but I know what I would like to have happen... I would like to have any useable organs harvested from my corpse, firstly. After that I like to think I have a spiritual energy that will be again pooled into the great collective, something I could never be conscious of but would hopefully be to the advantage of others.
reincartnation seems to be present in most religions you look at beside christianity
I myself believe in reincartnation beside i have been able to translate languages i have never studied or never seen before
But there may be a heaven there may be a hell it all lies in where you believe
I believe the soul is recycled and waits for a new born babys body to enter then thats when a soul has crossed over and gives a baby gets its personallity.Everybody has a little of everybody inside them.Hope i made sense :-)
i think that if buried, we rot and rot till nothing is left but bones, then they decompose after years of lying there and then all that is left are the rotting maggots in the soil where a once warm corpse lay...
hey, well i think ure soul gets carried to being born again, i belive in life after death
I dunno! I believe in Ghosts so I guess maybe after you die, your spirit stays behind, if you have 'unfinished business' though I'm not really sure.
I certainly believe that there is something after death although I have yet to know what it is. LoL.
I do believe that the soul moves somewhere, in a different dimension but I do not believe it will reincarnate and I base that on a practical view. If every person reincarnates then it means that there are no "fresh" souls? Or maybe the reincarnation is conditional and it doesn't apply to everyone? Most likely, we'll never know for sure....
I have had a full and very interesting life, I believe I take each breath as if it was my last. But at one point I was very close to it very well being my last. Being pronounced clinically dead and having near death experiences is something many share. Some believe the fact that I did have that "type of experience", made my gifts or mind and soul more aware. I don't know. I can only tell you that at the time of being unconscious and perhaps in and out of life itself ..I felt a grandness, a grand scale fullness. Not empty at all. I can not really explain it with words. A "connectedness" seems almost nor quite the word. But it shall have to do. I felt like all the elements. And yes I have researched and they say that scientifically the big light is the mind going into shock in these clinically dead and near death experiences. I however can tell you that I was light. I didn't see a big light up ahead. I was within the light and I was the light, an enourmous full and all type of vibe. There was confusion, my voice and voices I did not recognize. A sense of an aid or other being that was sort of confused as to what I was doing- a sort of "go back" -and there was a feeling of going into the flesh bag and coming out of it.
I must say, it felt as if all I was was my mind-if that can be said- like a string of light with the mind and the heart almost seemed not there..no attachment of emotional nature. Emotions perhaps still there but in a much more elevated-calm level. it was great.
it was eye opening. So much more can be said but I have rambled enough. If anyone else has ever been in that situation-do share. I was humbled and amazed by it. Changed.
It depends, I think you can either get reincarnated or you could go to heaven/hell.
My beliefs from my childhood. When I was younger, I had this "tom-boy" dog named Roxie Ann and she died at 5 months old... a few months later we got me another dog named Rox (named after her and from the same mom and dad just different litter), he acts just like her! We taught her how to sit on her butt, and we didn't even teach him, he somehow already knew how :-|.
I believe that we asend to a higher plan of exestince, re-encarnation, or limbo... i kinda believe in all of them.. what you do and what you don't do in life affects your after life, thats what i believe....
Me personally, think that it depends on how good of kharma you had to decide what will happen to you in the afterlife. Also how you died. If you live a good life and whatnot, you'll have a good afterlife. If you lived a bad life, your afterlife will suck. Then also if you were killed, just to be killed would possibly improve your afterlife rather than deplete it, but, if you were killed for a fair reason. Like if you've murdered someone and you were killed, then your afterlife would probably suck. To me it all depends on how you live life.
I believe there is a strong point in reincarnation as well as the soul of someone living on after the body dies. It just depends on karma i guess.
I think its your perception of it while your here and when you die. If you think your going to burn in some fiery hell for eternity when you die then you probably will, if you think your going to some heaven with diamonds and gold and all that when you die, then you probably will, if you think your going to come back to earth as a snake or a tree or a monster , then you probably will, you get my point?
Life is the complete opposite to death so instead of living you would be dying or decomposing. your body takes a fair while to completely die and turn to dust naturally anyway. I believe when you die, thats it i dont believe in souls or heaven and hell reincarnation etc; When you die you are buried in the ground and your body starts decomposing. And noone will remember you because after a while they will die and start the process of decomposition do you remember your great great great great grandfather??? There is no continuation only life and death living and dying. This is why people long to be immortal to be remembered When you look at it this way is it not surprising that religions beliefs reincarnation and heaven were written about and believed? People are scared of their own mortality. So i say instead of worrying about dying, you should worrying about living.
I hope that I get into heaven, so I can burn it out!!! Hopefully I will be able to kick God to death!!! That would be special, I guess he would know it's coming though, dammit!!!
But seriously, nothing happens after death, you just become a bad smell, worm food or ash, nothing special, we just take another form, not a conscious form like we have now, just a reshuffling of our human form into another. I wouldn't class this as re-incarnation.
i totally agree with ishta! there is nothing left in the graves of jack the rippers victims due to decomposition. if their bodies were still there, dont youi think id have dug them up by now and hid them all in my freezer. if reincarnation did exist, would my master jack be here as my cat or a daisy. i think not.
reincarnation would be swell, although it would suck to have to relearn everything over and over again for all eternity...it would also suck to come back as a bannana slug...
I believe when we get put into the ground, we separate our souls from our bodies and if we have unfinished business become ghosts or if not we pass on to another life form wether it be another human or just a plant or something.
Its a deep thought either way you believe myself i believe that it depends on the path you take right now for instant im going straigt to hell but the idea is broad i might just be reborn as an ant or if im lucky ill reach a higher state of being and go to another plane of existence its all in what you believe..
after death, there is life, after life there is death...
its all nature.
i believe that our spirit can live with out a body so the after life is just a release from the body
well, this is just what i beleive i mean others probably don't agree but HEY what the hell:
Okiy i beleive that oce you die, you either turn into a ghost good or bad depends on your life like, what you did in your life and how you spoke to people and all that lot. But then i beleive that if you don't turn into a ghost you spirit just, lives in another world (realm) e.g heaven or hell.
Thats just what i think anyway.
