I like vampires because I like the idea of living forever and being feared, but what reasons do you have that caused you to be interested vampires?
What interests me most is the sexy sultry side of vampires. Their thirsts, lusts and how they fulfill them.
My interest in vampires is how they sleep in their coffins, and they have a kindness to them people rarely want to see. They feed on blood and love it like sweet wine, and they have a sex appeal, that real fine.
It's the immortality thing for me as well. The price being the deaths of others and never feeling the sun again seems to be worth the trade.
I want to experience what the world is like in hundreds of years, and spend all the time learning. What knowledge one must accumulate over such time...
The mystery of it all. Can someone live forever? Can they fly? Can they change forms? Can they control another's mind?
Lots and lots of mystery......and sexiness.:)
I think the fascination with vampires is the seduction.
Ultimately we let the bite happen for the promise of immortality, but then we realise we have died.
Immortality is not given it is something like mutated powers gained by a very diffult process.
In Milton's Paradise Lost, and his follow up Paradise regained, might shed some light on the matter.
Bela Lagosi & Other Fun Movies That Show Things About Vampires & The Romance

For me its how they draw humans in. like thers something about them they cant figure out. and yet its like heorine and they just cant get away from it.
I love theyre mystery, the flawlessness of theyre bodies, i mean, have you ever seen a vampire that weights more then 150 pounds? I mean theyre bodies are hot.
theyre passionate, adventerous and most of all, when they have somehting to protect, they would risk themselves for that thing. kinda like a knioght in shinning armor. only with a bit of an evil side.
I think the seduction and allure of eternal life is what fascinates me the most. The thought of living forever and having certain powers of whatever they may be are also part of my attraction.
Of course, I am sure it isn't all sex and power, and I am sure there are downsides to it all as well such as having to watch those you love die.
the thought of being eternal is nice and all but i love the power rto be honest
1: being immortal to live forever
2:the sexual desire of a vampire is so powerful + greatful
3: finally getting someone to say the truth to u as being a vampire.
3:being dark mysterious is a turn on for me too :)
The "Hollywood" fantasy in my mind and the secret to want to meet a Vampire. Thier dark power and alluring sensuality. The powers they posess such as flying and immortality in just one bite. Not to mention the sexy mental picture Hollywood has put in my mind of what a Vampire looks like.
Everything. What first got me interested of course is and was books, tv. All my life as far back as I can remember.
The darkness, the mystery..the clothes, the violence. Ok and the blood :D
Thier being mysterious and thier lusts and being sexy. Oh and being feared.
I think what interests me most is the fact the thought of vampires being mystical magaical creatures of the night. Not knowing if they are real or thoughts of imagination put into our minds by society. I have met people who believe they are vampires. It is all really fascinating and intriguing.
for me there are alot of things that interest me about vampires. here are just a few things that capture me... immortality, eternal life, never growing old, their sexual sultry, power, their mystery, their embracement!
I can only describe vampires in two words beautiful and sexy
my intrest is the Dominance and power that can control the thought of another.. gain the trust of a person and to have the knowoledge to use only what is needed and the feeling when one is taken to be fed on.. smiels. mmmmm
I became interested as a teenager when I first read the works of Montague Summers on the subject. Later I involved myself in practical research and joined a team of investigators. When I became convinced of the vampire's existence I did not want to become a vampire, or vampire-like, but rather proficient in ridding the world of this hideous pest.
my thoughts about vampirers are this huge capacibility on omnipotenz.
get what you want to get without waiting to long.
the sencond thing is being one with the nature
I do not know where my interest comes from but I know that Vampires are a part of me. They are an obsession, a wonder, a horror and a love.
For me they are sexual, sultry, horrific, lonesome at times, crafty, cleaver, tortured, erotic, wonderful creatures.

Yeah, the sex and seduction side of it, really.
But honestly, I'm not even that interested in vampires. I'm more interested in people who are interested in vampires...
...I know, I'm weird like that.
the whole mystery of vampires of old , real ones of course not hollywood make believe

I would say the immortality part is interesting. I also am intrigued by the well endowed vampire women :)
i like the way that they live in the shadows always hidding and when they come out its to have a good fill of blood
I agree with someone when they said the sexy sultry side
Oh me and my metaphors!
I love the search for the vampire within us. Even in the now boundless community itself (thank you internet,) agreeing on a definition of vampirism is a slippery business. And I cheerfully hope that never changes.
Whether you point to the physical properties that cause you to participate in specific behaviors, spiritual want, emotional need, etc... to feed on your fellow man, nature, your world, even for the sexual vampire, the desire to hunt, to take, to empower, to find others, to explain, even to give, are all recognizable traits within the human heart - want, need, hope, greed.
Everyone has a bit of the vampire inside. Sometimes sexy, sometimes frustrated or isolated, sometimes a monstor, the vampire belongs to us all and at the end of the day, teaches us about ourselves.
The idea of imortality and the seductive side of the life.
what interests me is the immortality and the fact that u would be all powerful if i was an undead vampire i would turn the world into my world
plus i am in love with vampire related music
i think the mystery that lies behind them....the way they lurk in the shadow waiting to hunt there next victim and the seductive side they have... the powers they hold over people... always getting what they want.....
All the different types and stories that may b true or faluse but are still gr8 to read
I don't know much about vampires, but the way they seduce you and the mystery about them intrigues me.
unlike others I think I would really enjoy the longevity and the solitude. Yes, you would have many loves lost, but you WOULD have MANY loves. having eternity to practice and hone your skills would be phenomenal, can you imagine investing, learning to paint, play piano, etc? With 200 years of practice I bet even *I* could get good!
I like everything about them. Imortality is the best part though.
Oddly enough it has a lot to do with their wardrobe. I love the way they are portrayed in a lot of the films.
I was attracted to their aura of darkness, their mysteriousness, their lusts . . .
I was attracted to their aura of darkness, their mysteriousness, their lusts i also love there blood lust
For me it is not just vampires, but all darker things, partcularly nature. I love the power, knowledge and control.
The mystery, the power, the sex. It's fascinating and terrifying.
Well, when you're immortal (sort of) and can fly (?) and do all sorts of tricks using The Force , the police suddenly seems less dangerous :) So if you are caught drinking in public or something , you can just keep drinking . From their throats .
Would giving up your friends and family be worth becoming a vampire? I mean, you'd live on while they would all eventually die.
So ... ? You get to party more then they do . It's a good thing .
i agree with everyone else and i love the taste of blood and the living forver is nice too
I must agree with Joli on the metaphoric side. But as far as personal opinion, I would have to say, some parts come naturally to me, the neverending, unquenchable thirst and the ability to live forever. I mean, come on guys, if you really think about it, how many times, in how many different places, and with who knows how many different people would you be able to pass your legecy on to? The same can apply to the women as well, just with a slight modification to the previous wording.
The vampire is a creature of the night whom is dark, dangerously alluring and free-spirited. They roam the night feared and devoured by human hate...all these things speak of what I am and what I stand for. So the biggest interest I have is the more I learn of the vampyre/vampire the more I learn about myself...isn't that what we all want.
power,bloodlust,power,bloodlust,power.
oh ok you get the idea.
I have a new one that hit me today....They have a feeling that follows them everywhere...
the shapeshifting, were-beast connection fascinates me most.. that and the utter draining of life..
D
As the actual "vampire" existed only in the Slavic accounts of Eastern Europe (no, vampires cannot be found in almost all cultures just because other beliefs exist in demons or creatures who might share a trait also ascribed to the modern fiction of the "vampire"), if the truth is to be sought re: who and what the original "vampire" was and is, one must go to these earliest of accounts and not the later fictitious bastardizations of same that resulted most recently in Stoker's "Dracula" and all subsequent Hollywood-esque fictions.
And should one do so, one quickly discovers that the primary traits today considered "vampiric" did not exist prior to about the 17th Century. The only trait still found in modern fiction that was originally factual is the belief that the "vampire" (upir', vapir, vampir, etc.) was one who had returned from the dead. As to why they had returned and what they did following that supposed return... well, to discover truth from fiction, one must study the actual first-hand accounts of all such as reported by the Slavic populations of Medieval times.
My first introduction to vampires was a Hollywood movie called Salem's Lot based on a Stephen King novel.
I was always haunted by the question of why we would want to extenguish a species based on our ignorance.
It was not until years later that I would begin my quest "love-affair" with the idea that there were others out there that were not like me, they were more.
I have been impressed by what my idea of their existance is, wrapped around what Holywood has offered as an explination of their existance.
I have no true knowledge of them so I am unable to express what I like about their kind. I can only speculate as to what I think they are.....
"Everyone has a bit of the vampire inside. Sometimes sexy, sometimes frustrated or isolated, sometimes a monstor [sic], the vampire belongs to us all and at the end of the day, teaches us about ourselves." - Joli
That's like saying everyone has the potential to do evil things and the Devil belongs to us. No. We belong to the Devil if we descend to perform evil acts. We become his plaything and his dupe. Unless, of course, we resist the evil one lurking over everyone's shoulder. Then we are free to make considered choices.
Vampires (the real kind, not wanabees) are not a "species". They do not belong to the natural order. Their energy comes from a supernatural and demonic source. The physical host is nothing more than a shell. The force itself is from elsewhere.
well I hope for darkling lord lestat is not a vampyre, the way she spelled it, but to be a true vampire there could be no other way. Tortured? It is not torture if you like it.
other than being one? LOL
Okay, I would have to say that the idea of living forever is quite appealing to me (see my thread The Undead lol), but there is also the idea of a vampire being seductive and alluring. I don't believe that if they exist they would be monstrous, so they are very appealing in that reguard as well.
My interest in vampires are that, they feed on blood, dark, evil and mean but really sexy, seductive, fly, the way they dress robe etc...
I like the seductive side to the vampire.
As far as the fictional Vampires, I like their great taste in the finest things....from the wardrobes and appreciation of the arts.
Movies kinda started getting me into them but I think its more along the lines of seduction, lust and eternal life. Just learning more about another lifestyle that is not really the norm.
When the word Vampire is spoken so many words and ideas come to mind.
The seductive darkness, the creatures that hunt those who are though to be at the top of the food chain, Eternity to learn the answers to the questions that scratch at our minds and rip our souls.
Creatures of dark nature of leather straps and cloaks.
Blood flowing over there lips as they feast on there prey.
A stake through the heart and a clove of garlic.
A cross burning into there flesh.
The mystery of there beleifs never seeing them but knowing there watching fearing the unknown.
What interests me most, is the fact that vampires know the pain that I know, that so many of us know and they have witnessed true love and the changes of the world.
But to be more narrow.
Most of us are attracted by the seduction how they fulfill there lusts and there hunger.
Whats not to love about something so dark and attractive biting your neck.
Lust, seduction, power, immortality, abilities.....
and yes, Birra, you are weird, that's why we like you and I feel the same in that way..
What mosts attracts me to Vampirism would be the power, the lust, the strength, the sentualness of a bite. Im very drawn to power and the dominant individual.
As I stay tuned into VR I am getting more and more curious about the Psy Vampire. I want to know so much more about them because I want to know what is the difference between them and a non Vampire with the same intelligence and paranormal gifts. Is it just the lifestlye as in clothes or just that they want to call themselves Vampires but why?
About my previous post, well I thought about it and maybe I'm trying to figure myself out? I have many psy traits and a great deal of fascination with Vampires but I don't claim to be a Vampire
Vampires (the traditional fictional ones) are the ultimate anarchists. The appeal to me has always been the ability to be hidden in society...a predator within, while being completely separate from the rules, needs, responsibilities, and morals of the human world.
I like the blood, yes seriously, the taste of blood is most alluring but other then that, the lusts the dangerous air that surrounds them and their stories... thats what started me for the most part. the worst... would be to live forever, just one life.... i would get bored.....
the lust they have towards life and the way they live eternaly and the sex
I love vampires because thet're every thang I want to be. They have powers they live forever thery're dark n sexy
um, well the most sincere form of flatterry is imitation. Unfortunately dressing in black latex and holding a book, and having a vial of extra virgin olive oil around your neck may look authentic, but the saying clothing makes the man, unfortunately does not apply to vampires. Buying a Brioni suit and clutching a briefcase tends to fill the suitcase with money, but dressing goth does not neccessarily fill the mind.
But if everyday is halloween, and the goth garb is a ticket into a world you wish to discover the eternal power of, you just might actually become a vampire and make those stuffed money suitcase clutching Brioni suitcase wearing look like fakes.
That is what I am about baby.
It has to be the power ... strength, power over people, life and nature
All the worlds a stage baby pick your outfit.
Personally i wear them all.
Nobody seems cognisant of the fact that whether we are discussing the literary vampire, cinematic vampire or the folkloric vampire - the vampire is invariably biocidal and kills all life forms whilst suffering a miserable existence as an undead until a blessed hand strikes the wooden stake which brings its hellish activities to an end by casting out the demonic entity responsible.
definitely the eroticism and mystique .Especially of the dominating aspects.
The whole Package just seems to draw me in .
well I am not going to walk up with any wood
stakes
yes sometimes clothes do make the man
but doing a Godiva stops those nasty stkes from killing the vampire as he sleeps.
I don't think wooden stakes do anything to women
only if they are female vampire succubai
I personaly have alwaya ben drawn to the darker side of life and naturaly vampirism is one of the many great thiings about it that i love
Vampirologist - no I think most recognize that a vampire is a predator or a parasite and if there is any humanity left within him/her, then he/she is also a sociopath who has put aside any moral standing in exchange for the gifts of life and power. I think most of the positive responses on here simply acknowledge that for selfish reasons, it's a fair trade to be a sociopath that lives forever...or at least that's what makes the vampire so interesting.
I think what interests me the most is the fact they live so long. They gain a lot of wisdom, and tend to more about how humans operate and how society functions.... plus they're so damn seductive! *grins*
what interests me the most it the myths surrounding the vampire
or it could be the consumption of blood or energy to re-charge your batteries so to speak
just the fact that so many people dont belive in them. just because they dont see vampires they dont think they exist
Umm, well I am not a vampire, and have never claimed to be, nor do I ever wish to become one, but I can see something about the idea of immortality and such incredible power appealing to quite a few people.
Plus how Hollywood portrays vampires (like in Underworld) With that Gothic feel, the velvet and the red and gold and black, the elegance is very hard to resist.
What interests me most about vampires is the fact that people fear them, i belive they fear them because they don't understand but meh who cares its fun to scare lol. i also like the power, strengh, charm and carisma that i belive they have.
My thoughts of vampires are fantasy, erotic, adored, and truely respected. I never had fear of vampires, everything happens for a reason, and I love them.
I like knowing that there are others and that I am not completely alone.
I love the true vampires the most and feel sorta offended by our hollywood copies. though they are very lustful and i love them they have created a bad image for us.
For me it's the mystery, sexual desire, and all around Everything.
