I would like to know what everyone's views are on past lives. And if they have any views on why we move from one life to another.....

I think we move from life to life to share the knowledge that we have.

I agree with darkchyld we move from life to life to share knowledge and continue developing that knowledge to further our soul and it increase the universal mind.

Yes, I do think that we all have at least one past life...some of us may have had multiple ones.

I also believe as the very wise Darkchylde that we are reborn to continue gaining knowledge, to enlighten ourselves and those around us.

Since linear time is a human illusion, they aren't really past lives...They all run concurrently....Once One reaches higher levels of clarity of mind, One can move from one life to another...The goal is to be aware of all of them and have the complete knowledge of One's complete self...

I also believe in past lives. Its odd but I find myself very comfy and familiar with things from certain eras in time and I have dreams of myself and things in different time periods that I should have no knowledge of. I think that its been said well already that I think some souls are chosen to continue on from life to the next to carry knowledge, wisdom, perhaps compassion onto another generation. I cant say as to why I would have been chosen for a mission like that but I have people tell me that they can talk to me in ways that they cant with people they have known their whole life.

i know well of that feeling. you ought not know things that you do and you remember things that never actually happen to you in this life. it get's really confusing sometimes and other time it really help out. but yes, i beleive in past lives and have lived quite a few myself. some people see it as punishment and others enlightenment. it depends on your views or memories, for that matter.

Its funny but the feelings that I have deep down about all the past lives I feel I may have experienced is that they were wrought with trials and brought about great strength....I believe I was poor in EVERY one and that I struggled to overcome and live an honest and happy life despite my situation....like being a widowed mother of 3 kids at a time with America was being born and everyone was making a dash for land...trying to build a homestead with no man or family to help...etc

I totally beleive in past lives. I used to not really but now that im older ive began to beleive more and more in it. Me and my friend was looking up the whole idea of it one time and we came across the whole "soul mate" idea where your soul mate is the person whom you shared a love with in your past life. Its also said that only 20% of people will ever find their soul mate. Well that caught my attention because i have in fact found my soul mate and he knows it too. We have a connection that noone else seems to understand. I was amazed to hear that he thought i was his soulmate as well. Were really close now even though were not dating or anything. We beleived it was better to not date and see how things happened in our next life. lol. Who knows...maybe well meet each other then too. : )

I am not convinced that souls / conciousness are reincarnated into new bodies. I know my wife belives in this and insists that we are "Soul Mates" who have been together in many past lives. I agree with the soul mate part but I sure can't remember any past lives together, but then I'm lucky if I can remember important dates in our current life together!

I believe in past lives. I also believe that we move from one life to the next in search of our soul mate as well as to pass along the information we have learned or consumed.

I have had quite a few.. I am a very old soul. Not always human lives ether and some times it shows... I think I was a Cat a few times to many and the traits just stuck..LOL.. I have been Male and female and quite a few of the people around me in this life have been around me in former lives as welll....

The first time I knew of one of my past lives was as a very small child of about the age 5 or 6.. I did not know this story till years later and my grandmother had the for site to wright it down as I told it...

I had a dream one night and woke.. I ran to my grandmother room and told her of my dream in great detail. This dream was not one of a small child and would not have been something I would have had any knowledge of the info contained with in..This was 1985 - 86 ish I don't recall the date ....

What I told my grandmother was. m

I was an older woman some where in my twenties. I was dressed in a very ornate uniform. It had symbols in Black and red.. double SS and I drew a swastika to show the symbols.. I told of torturing people and in great graphic detail.. I told of hanging or having someone hung on a meat hook because they would not tell me what I wanted to hear.. Blood flowing down their body to a pool on the floor... Dunking people in and out of freezing water because they would not give me information... Pulling peoples nails out with vis grips and so on.. Very graphic very detailed and very very scary.. The dream ended with Men storming in to our building and being pushed up against the wall and being raped by them.. They were in spotted green and solid green uniform as I told her .. My only guess would be the allies..?? they then pushed me and my others from my unit to our knees facing the wall.. one by one down the line we were shot excursion style..I woke as I was shot in the head...

I had this exact same dream many times as a child as well as a few other that children should not and can not have... They have always haunted me...

I believe that I suffer quite a great deal in this life for my former life.. I meet people some times that I don't even have to open my mouth and they hate me.. They have even told me that they don't know why they just do.. I have had a very tough life in many many ways and I truly do believe that it is Karma for that life ... I am not that person but I am haunted by them still...

i believe in past lifes, i would love to have a past life regression done, maybe that will explain why i'm afraid of heights and spiders

Yeah i see some of my past lives in dreams and then i get told what it all means and i have found another person here who was with me in several past lives.

I believe we move from one life to another because if we die early in life I think we get a second chance.

I don't think that is knowedge that we are here to acquire as much as it is Wisdom, Understanding and Compassion. I don't think we get to keep coming back until we get it right, I hope not at least.

I believe in past lives, I can remember a few of my own. I dont know if I believe that everyone has them though. Im not sure why I think that way but it is something that I have thought about a bit latley.

The info I have garnered on possible past lives of mine have all come to me in the form of dreams. It makes you wonder if what you just saw was real but in the very fiber of my being I KNOW that it FELT TOO REAL and there were things in it that I couldnt have known about. I have similar troubles in people just NOT liking me for some reason and always being the odd person out without quite knowing why. I have met some people and with the exchange of VERY few words it was like we had known each other all our lives. Do you think these bonds transcend age, race and religious lines?

I believe in past lives, to a point. I somehow feel that we are all living in demensions. Like we are today, living in the 3rd demension, I feel that after death, we move to the next demension, which would be the 4th demension, and then so on and so on. We live a new life within each of these demensions. It is however, quite hard to be so sure of this, considering that nobody has adequite proof of this happening. That is why, alot of times, no one can remember anything from the past life, because we don't really know if it is in fact, true and that we have actually lived a past life.

I believe in past lives . I've had dreams of them. I also think the soul goes from life to life to learn what we havent in the past and to get it right.

i don't know how many past lives I've had, i know I'm an old soul out for a ride again. reasons for coming back might depend on a million different things. just think of how many life's there are to life. wouldn't you like to try them all?

Some people dont think that we have past lives. I used to be one of them untill my grandma told me about one of my past lives. It was weird cause I had dreams about it. Now I am havin more dreams that seem like I have been there before. I am not sure about why we have past lives.

I believe in reincarnation, but I don't believe in remembering past lives. Sometimes people are able to do that, but in my personal opinion those would be exceptions rather than the rule.

I do believe we have past lives and live so many because every life we live is a new lesson to be learned to bring us to a higher plane of existance

I have a strange reasoning that any pain, that is nothing to do with any medical problem and that cannot be explained, may be from a past life.

I have had pains that felt like someone was sliding a cold blade between my ribs on many occasions

I Beleive in past lives and I also beleive that we choose wether or not we want to live again or just go on and live in the spiritual relm.
Im not completly possitive about all of this but I do love looking into it.

I believe in reincarnation....and some souls keep coming back to complete or find or change themselves under different circumtances until rights are wronged and they learn what they themselves need to learn in order to move onto the next step. And as Zodat said, I believe remembering is an exception, not a rule. Perhaps someone's fear of water was from a drowning or near drowning, or heights from a fall, things along those lines.

I am kind a both beleiving and not, part cause of the more and more things I am more and more learning and getting mroe and more info. Past lifes for some I discover I had, but also some dont cause of the lost souls that come to me and other psychic. My mother discover she and I were both in a past life together.

I fully believe because I am quite aware of several of my past lives and Hopefully I will get more insight into those I have yet to fully understand..

I think we live more than once. Mostly because life is too vast to be lived in such a short span!

I answered a simmilar thread a while back,but i,ll share it again.I have had only one past life.I was Sir Lancelot in that life.Ive had a reoccurring dream since iwas about six.I,m sat around the table of knights,i,m sat on king arthurs right and next to him on his left is Guineveer.then the scene switches to the heat of battle,theres fire and smoke around.I,ve just disposed of what appears to be saxon.Guineveer is down and about to be killed by another saxon,i come running over as he is about to seliver the killing stroke i strike his hand then cut the back of his leg before delivering the finishing strike across his neck.then i help Guineveer to her feet.The strange thing is that Guineveer is always faceless.

One of the things that always seems to be said for past lives is that the riches and or fame are the last life. It is only once you have gone through all the other levels that must be dealt with and learned that you get to be a famous person that is why so many loony bins are filled with Cleopatra's and Napoleon's

i just have to agree with everyone. i know people from past lives. they may not look the same, but they make me feel the same as i did in another life

i beleive in them i think its a symbol that if weve done something good a higher state will be acheived by giving us another chance but if not you get a lower state or your stuck in an unknown relm

My wife and I have worked out that the past lives that i remember she was also in them, we werent partners in these lives but were in the same area.

i believe in past lives. like i have all these weird dreams all surounding the same concept like there memories of my past life as in some point they tell us what to do like as if our destiny wasnt fulfilled then they are telling us to do it now and if we yet again dont succed then when we pass away our soul moves to a the next person i think that is the whole point of reincarnation

I believe in past lives also. Though the reasons why vary.
One reason though, is so that any mistakes we may have made in a previous life can be rectified. Some people say that when we start a new life, if we have been good then we move up in the food chain. If we are bad, then we move down. This makes me think of questions...
What is the definition of good and bad?
What is higher than us, as humans, in the food chain?

I would have to say YES I do believe in passed live... as well as I feel we can meet others from our passed lives... We continue on learning new things and expanding our what we know.

I dont know if there are past lives but I do have a feeling of being alive before. Supposidly I was burnt in my past life and that is how I died.

I agree with this one in particular. There are some people in my life that I MUST have known before. It's just too easy to get on with them.

I do believe we have more than one chance to reach perfection. And if upon dying we have not reached it we are to return untill we do.

we move from one life to another because the human body is only built to last about 80 or so years max, and spirits are eternal. When our body cant be used to harbor our souls anymore... our soul is released and goes... someplace else ^^. Then theres some sort of like a waiting period where you can prepare yourself for the next life, and then when you go to your next life, you slowly learn what happened in your past all over again.

i think we come back if our souls fuze with a new life. otherwise we become ghost

I also agree with Lamia. There are different levels of achievement, or goals, if you will, in order to progress to eternal rest, or whatever you may call it. I believe that a like time has to be repeated if you have done terrible things. Comming back again on that particular level is like a karmic dept. I think this continues until you have met your purpose in life.

as fun it is to think about, living more that one life is not only unlikely its most likely quite redundant. especially for an old soul thats been around the block for quite a number of era's. and even more so if the soul is aware of just how long its been around.. which brings me to a point. the term old soul comes from the idea that one souls been around longer than another. which means souls are born, and just a thought but that leads me to conclude that they can also die. so its kind of paradoxal to beleive that reincarnation can actually exist if in fact souls are born and pass away, because for the simple fact that the soul doesnt live as another soul. im talking like 5th dimension type shit here. and i think i have gone cross-eyed as a result.

I believe we have life lessons to learn and once they are learned only then do we pass over. until then we keep being reborn until we get it right. Just a thought not a fact...

I believe that we are all energy and that as energy we cannot be destroyed or created. I do not know if I believe we all have past human lives, but I do no we existed before birth and will exist beyond the grave.

We pass from one life to another to better ourselves. We will gradually get closer and closer to Evolution's idea of Perfection with every life we go through.

I too fell that past lives are real, it sort of links in with reincarnation in the past sense of course. If you lead a bad life previously then you will have horrible nightmares and evil visions of what you did.

past lives are the combine wisdoms through out the ages, but over time we have all forgotten how to tap into the ability to see what our past lives were and who we were then and now.

When I visited Paris and went to the Palace of Versailles, I had a feeling of being familiar. I was probably the bed-warmer! but it was a lovely feeling especially when walking around the gardens and playing in the hedge maze :)

I think it could be possible. But the part people forget is not to over focus on what has been. It should be used as a tool or a metaphor to improve your now.

If you focus too much on what has been (even in your current life) you miss out on most of what is happening around you. So unless I am struck by the feeling of having been somewhere or something similar, I tend to not worry about past lives, and to focus on the now and what I need to learn, achieve to be where I want to be.

i agree that we shouldnt focus too much on the past lives as we do on the current lessons and values. i do think that understanding a past life will help u gain more of an understanding of things now, as well as keeping u open minded. to new things, to old things. etc.

i also think that past lives are what gives me dejavu sometimes.

i think some lives repeat to show us what we did wrong and to try and fix it other lives are lessons learned the first round.

I truely believe we all have past lives. I also believe we go on into the next life with some knowledge of our past lives, however, I find that it isn't always clear until I reach a certain point in my life. It then becomes clear to me I have been in this situation before or one like it and I realize my knowledge. I have also met a few people in my life that I know I had to have known in a past life. I just know too much about the person.

Consider "planes" or "dimensions" if you will. Time is sent on one to the other, perhaps, untill we get each one "right". Some scientists believe there are seven dimensions- others say 253. Others argue it always expands outward, something of a divine mind. Why does it have to stop? Why does there have to be an end to anything? Ends are relative. Things just recycle. Of course, we can't know for sure...

It is my belief that we are all products of past lives.

Does everyone believe in souls? Is there really such a thing? I know that there is something that makes me who I am. So, if I have a soul, does that mean there are an infinite number of souls? Or are we a set number of souls?

It is my belief that there are a set number of souls. I believe that the soul has to experience or learn that one thing that is essential to our souls growth.

As we learn that one thing we travel around and in what we call a life. This soul may visit our reality of the world many times.

I also believe that as we become aware, learn, and leave, a part of our energy stays behind. This is how we can detect the experiences of our past lives.

I have had one other life identified. But, I have a reacurring dream that I know was a past life. How do I know? Because I too had an experience such as Rising Sun did.

I too believe in past lives, I was told once that in my past life i was some sort of fighter with a sword... that is all i can really remember since i as told this when i was very young by a family friend who was very much into Tarot and readings and Wicca.

i started doing sword fighting, and it was just second nature, thats why i think i would be dated to then
