Does anybody know what the fastest time is that it took someone to reach level Sire in a coven?

Is it possible to reach the level of Sire as a free member or without being in a coven?

The First Sire was HellChildDami.

She did it WAY before there were Covens or Houses around.

It is possible to achieve it without being in one or the other. Even without any kind of Mark.

I've seen people achieve it within months. Depends on how dedicated you are.

I have been on this site rather a logn time, and people have joined and reached Sire in that time... I think it depends on how much the status concerns you in a lot of instances.

The fastest I can remember would be Lordvampiro he did it in just under 5 months.

You would have to be extremely dedicated though to move up that far in that short period of time. I am about to celebrate my two year mark on VR and I am at level 17 (almost 18)...of course I have had a few things get in my way over the past two years...like a deployment to Iraq :)
Basically, your level ups all depend on how bad you want it and how much time you are willing to commit to VR :)

I've been on this site for around a year, but I wasnt very dedicated & didnt come on much, as I had other things to deal with. Over the past 4 months I've been on everyday, & it didnt take me long to reach this level

no the time frame on ncbandit is very wrong. lol not from whelp to sire it took longer than that. it had to have.

I'm been on since April 14th and I'm at 13 and its getting WAY hard to move up.

the higher up you get in level the harder it is to level up.

I have been on here since around March or so of this year and I am coming close to level 18 so I can see 5 months being about right....I am on here daily...some days for a little here or a little there and other days I am able to devote HRS literally and I DO....congrats to all those who have successfully made sire btw

I've reached it twice, I lost it and then got it back, the first time it took me about 7 month, then lsot it then almsot had it and changed my name and got it last month again

Aye, NCBandit has reached Sire in the fastest amount of time, as far as I know. It took me a little over a year. I had it about three times before I left my respected Society and gained it all on my own without the aid of a Master's mark.

I have seen people do it very quickly, it just depends on your dedication to leveling up really.

I have been on the site for about a year and a half now and I am just on the verge of getting Sire. I am 93% level 27 and it is taunting me like crazy! I will probably go back down a level once I reach it but that is because I won't be able to get online for a little soon.

But if you set your mind to it and live nothing but VR, I am sure you can do it in no time!

sire is a goal I want to get in under a year and then I will create a new type of coven and when that day comes it might change of how things are done on here just a little bit lol

What i dont understand is people are saying they level down once they reach sire.
When you hit sire why would you click the update your status button again anyway?

Deadlyviper thats actually a good question...i know some people do click the update status just out of habit!

The more time you spend you quicker you will reach that level. Really, It all comes down to time, as everthing else will flow from it

i believe its good to have goals and to reach them ..but there is lifr beyond VR and somtimes thats more important paying bills family im not a slave to any thing or one ...but my God

I agree. If you want to be sire that much then you can achieve that in a short amount of time. Personally I'm happy at the level I'm at. I worked hard to get here just to have full access to the forums. That was my goal.

Not to be the doubter of the bunch, but to reach sire in just over a month, wouldn't you have to basically not do anything else... that would take a lot of effort.

Actually when you reach Sire, the update is automatic as soon as you logg on it update you status wheter you want it or not.

I've been on it two months and should hit 18 by the end of this week. I'm sure it'll get tougher from here on in - bring it on!

oh right i didnt know its automatic when you reach sire.

From the "Time Spent" requirement of the Status section of the VR manual:

28 Sire 52.08 - 63.66 days

How would it be possible to be ON VR for over 52.08 days in just 45 days???

Its not just time, it is also rating, posting in forums.

It isnt possible, however you could spend say 44 days on vr and make up for it with maximum forum posts, rating score, and pages viewed.

I believe that if you have enough referrals, you could also achieve it in a shorter amount of time.

you're right I firgot about referal, but its like the mark tho, if you loose them then you level down so its a tricky way of leveling up

Maybe but you only start getting points for referals at level 4 and above, you need a lot of referals to get a decent percentage to add on to your status.

True but if you refer four people and they level up quickly then you can reach sire in no time. As for staying at that level, well that wasn't part of the question. However, once there, it might be easier to raise up in the areas that you are lacking in before the chance of losing the rank.

but the people you refer, theres a good chance they wont be that active on that site, on the plus side if they become a premium member you get double points.

it is all about time and dedication to leveling up quickly or not.

I have 2 referrals and one changed to a pm after I referred her to this place, but sometimes I have a hard time getting the referral to actually show up on my end! :( :P

it takes a long time to make it to sire. my sire took over 6 months to make it to that level. the higher u go, the harder it gets. but it is possible to make it. ull have to spend a lot of time on the site, rate everything, (and i mean everything) and post a lot of forums, and try to keep up ur pages viewed. Ull basically have to be on vr 24/7 in order to do it quickly.

LOL well then I won't be leveling up to sire for awhile then... I have a life outside of VR which somewhat restrains me from being on here that much lol.

ive been on level 21 for awhile. i cant boost past 73% complete. ive been rating all morning. it is time consuming but you will definately make it eventually. lol. have fun with it!

I hardly rate
but i have the time spent of a viper (level 21) and my pages viewed are were they should be for my level, my forum posts are doing alright as well. i let my time spent carry my ratings for awhile im aware sooner or later i will have to rate more. but to my calculations it wont be till im level 26. so ive got a while yet.

Well I think the only thing lacking from my status right now is my things rated... which I've been spending a lot of time on! lol, but it is proving to be quite time consuming. I think once I get my ratings up then I'll be better off.... And you can only rate pros and ports right? Or am I missing something.. lol

I really think i have to focus on my forum posts a little more. but i personally can not answer forums where i have nothing to say or no interest in the topic. so i try to rate every day until there is nothing left to rate but the new whelps. my pages viewed is easy to maintain as well. everyone has a different method to gaining levels, i enjoy hearing about others ways of gettiing it done. this was a good post.

You can rate the whole vampire data base.

u can rate the database!!! go to vampire data base link on the left. then when the list populates, click the left side where it tells u how many listings. i think it starts with accessories. click the number of listings then ull get more to rate. does that make sense?

Yes, as said..rate the vampire database as well as the member articles. Start at the top "accessories" catagory, work through it and then go down the list. After you have completed a catagory, go back periodically, search on "newest" and then rate the items until you set to one you've rated already.

on the database u can search by unrated. unrated doesnt work on the profiles, but on the database it does. so if ur unsure if u missed any, click unrated then submit and it will tell u.

If one can stayed logged in for 24 hours at a time and rate everything on the site - then it is possible to achieve it rather quickly. And if one dedicates the time and energy into creating a good profile and is lucky enough to earn House or Coven membership and a mark, especially a Prince's mark, then that time can go by even faster.

It took me over a year - from the time I joined in Feb. 2006 until Sept. 2006. I could stay logged in during work but couldn't rate a ton of things plus I was much more active socially on the site at that time. Then when I left the US for the UK in Sept. my Internet usuage was dramatically altered for several months (i.s. - no internet in the dorms) so I had to wait for a break in classes and the time to sit down and rate things. Once I started dedicating myself to that pursuit, I achieved Sire rather quickly. I still attempt to rate things daily to ensure that I don't lose my level any time soon. ;)

As stated it all comes down to time and desire.

As far as leveling goes .. I have been dedicated like a mad man the past month.. I was gone from VR due to work and was out of town for 4 months.. Since I came back I have done well with my efforts to reach Sire.. Without a premium.. I do plan on getting my Lifetime real soon.. So yes that will help.. but if you work hard and keep focused you will be able to reach any goal you set for yourself.. If you rate the database it also seems to give you a lil faster %

i've been here just under 2 months, and i'm just about to level 14 (97% ov level 13)

i come on 5 days a week, and about 8 hours a day. give or take.

It took me a little under a year to achieve itbut i know it can be done faster, dedication being the key,and this from someone who didnt want to join to begin with and look now so it is possible

Well I can tell from your post where you would make the most progress in, Satanswarrior. You forum posts are actually low for one of your level. Not to say that it's bad or anything, but if you were to post more. You would rank up quicker.

The level of time it takes depends greatly on your participation on the site. If your on 15 hours a day, rating your little heart out, you would obviosly reach 28 before someone who's only on for 15 minutes.

Sorry, i forgot to answer the second part of the question. i have seen free members who are sires. So you don't have to be a premium member to be a sire.

Of course you dont have to be a premium member to be sire premium memberships give no status boost, however it is better for you and the site to purchase one definatly worth it

i got to level 14 fast. past 18 it gets harder and harder. i spend a lot of time on here at work too. about 8 hours give or take.

how do we get the prince's mark?

no you dont have to be in a coven or a premium member but you do have to work hard and if you dont then youll never get it

I believe that it depends on my many factors as my fellow members are stating in their posts. It takes dedication and also time. If you take the time to read/rate the profiles along with everything else that can get done, you'll reach Sire in no time :) I joined on June 11th and started out as a whelp. And today, June 13 I am now a mosquito :)

lol I haven't put forth much effort until now... but within 2 or 3 weeks I went from lvl 18 to 25 so... it's easy *nods*

I personally got it in 4 1/2 months. Could have been sooner... but I started to hate rating and quit for a while.

it took me 13 months to get sire, i really cant see how you could get it in such a short perios of time unless all you do is site on a pc, rather boring for me i have a life and lots of things going on

I am one of these guys who logs on for about an hour or a few hours a day. If you have the same pace as me you will be at Viper (21) in about 17 months. I raced to about level 16 and then it got really hard to level up.

On another note, all these stories about the people on VR means we have a history. I wonder if we should start chronicling it - maybe in a section in the Vampire database or somewhere else.

Most of the Sires that I have came across while rating have The Princes mark.How can they say that it takes some time when the mark bumps you up 10%?
If I had Cancers mark I would be easily over level 15 right now.

after the teens its harder to level up. katryna, u made it to mosquito fast, and u probably will pass up to marplot quickly. but once u hit viper, it takes long.

I know of a Sire on this site that said they did it, in a week and beat somone else by 4 hours!

well i dont know about it but i reached 6th level today on my completing one month.

I log on for anywhere between 1 and 6 hours... mostly 2 hours on average, because I have my real-life duties to attend to.

I've been with VR over a year now and I finally reached level 27. Thanks to Cancer for his gracious mark which boosted me 3 levels (I got my lifetime at the most opportune time).

I will agree, that the higher the level, the harder it is to level up. But for me, levelling up isn't the main drive here. I just want to have fun and meet some wonderfully intelligent people -- and I have met quite a few already.

I agree with Jens I log in for anywhere to 5 to 6 hours a day just because I'm either waiting for tattoo bussiness or Im doing graphics for people within the site its fun and relaxation for me and the people I have met and interacted with are awesome.

It took me about 2 years :P of course...I left VR for a while then I was pretty lazy about leveling up...really lazy about leveling up. I more enjoy the other things that VR offers.

i think it depends how much effort each person puts in to becoming a sire ,i think it took me longer to sire up cos i wasnt on for ages at first and kept coming back now n then and didnt realy know how to level up

In my case I am very proud of my level... today I'm 8...
It's been quite fast... I'm here since April more or less... maybe March...
and It's been fun...

There are different things which can take you up to the level of Sire qucker, and that is mark of the Master, Sire or Prince. Technically speaking, I lay claim to that title, but had taken a break away since then. That may of been before your time Countess Moon..

As of today, I've been on here 53 days.
I don't rate a whole lot as that when I first joined I rated, what I thought was fair and got pretty much mauled via PMs demanding to know why I failed to rate a 10.
Needless to say I don't rate all too much anymore.
I also rarely post... just never have alot to add that hasn't already been posted by someone else. To me, stating the same thing any number of people have said, is pretty much pointless.

It has taken me 26 days to get to level 15, I can't wait until I reach sire, but I know that it is going to take a while and be extremely difficult.

Hmm i think it should get easier for us but oh no..lol they really want us to work to get there ..........but i know the reward in the end is good ...........and hopefully it means a lot of new and exciting coven to be opening soon

im addicted to leveling. so im going crazy on posts right now. i have posted over 100 times since last night. the rating is whats going to kick my butt b/c i hate to be mean to people but i hate to give all 10s. i hope i reach sire soon but i know it takes dedication and since i hate rating then i guess im not fully dedicated. lol.

I have been on this site since december and would have been higher earlier if I had started rating earlier in my time here.. doing rates and posts do make a huge difference as well as time spent...

As stated before- one does not have to be involved in the society system to make it to Sire. Of course a mark doesn't hurt at all in making sire.

I have been here a few days shy of a month and I am currently 90% through level 20. If you are dedicated, you can jump through the hoops pretty fast. I am hoping to make Sire within 3 months. Obviously I have a lot of posting to catch up on :)

I think that 45 days was ncbandit's total "time spent" on VR before achieving the rank of Sire. That sounds a bit more reasonable.

There's no way anyone can stand to be online 24/7 for 45 days straight, I'm sorry.

lol I would tend to agree.... It's going to take me awhile to get up to Sire, because I cannot physically be on this site for 24/7... *shrugs*

Its all about how dedicated you are. Adn you don't have to have a premium membership or be in a society as stated before. I don't know whats been the fastest time to get to sire though. I've been on here for about 2 months and a half and almost to level 15. I think its gotten easier for me to level up as I get higher up. My goal is to get to sire by my birthday.

I've been here since October and I'm at 83% of Necro...shouldn't be too much longer now, I'd guess.

You could hit sire with the marks and more posts & hits...

I've been on here for a little over 18mo and my biggest obstacle was dial-up until we finally got dsl a couple months ago and since then I've doubled my level but my pages viewed is still holding me up but it's slowly starting to catch up.
