I'm not a vampire first off I'm just interested and in the process of learning.

But my question is what exactly is the bond between sex and vampires?

To be more specific when people are asked about blood drinking and their preferences most have a sexual preference and that may be just because you are are not of an alternative sexual preference but if you are not...if you are Bi sexual how can you pick one sex over the other? Blood is the same from no matter where you get it is it not?

Or is it something everyone else goes by because of the things we've seen in movies and read in books?

This is theoretical on my part since I am not a blood-drinking vampire, but after reading countless threads on finding the right donor and does sex mater, I feel I have enough feedback to answer this particular question.

It appears to me that most blood drinkers are pretty picky when it comes to their donors. Many on here say that the donor has to be of the opposite sex (or sexually appealing to the vampire for nonheteros).

Part of me wonder if it is just as you stated Mieta, that many have seen films and that the bond between feeding and sex is not iron clad. I assume everyone enjoys sex (if not get another partner: P ), which the act itself can drain or energize. Rather than engaging in something they might not understand (psy and sang), they cling to what they know and love.

Just my two cents.

I don't think there is a bond between sex and vamps. It's about the vamp's sexual preference, assuming males can get it up and females can orgasm without feeding first. If sexual urges only occure when feeding first than I still think it would depend on vamps sexual preferences. Blood my contribute to sexual urges but I don't think there's any bond. But don't get me started on sex demons, and energy!

Well, I always thought that It had to do with the energy. Especially out of all things, sex. Hightened moment and sometimes its an anything goes situation. Your excited and your partners excited etc, etc

You can make a connection to sex and sexuality through anything.. everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Everyone has something different that arouses their senses.

Well from what I have read about...seen in hollywood movies and of curse Dracula (the book).The drinking of blood or taking in some cases,is linked the pleasure you feel while in a sexual situation...the rush...the feeling of *intercourse* between the two.the hightened senses,the rapid heartbeat,etc.

It mainly goes with sexual preference because if you are not homosexual, you would not want your lips on the same sex.

as a sang /pranic, i tend to feed from females as a general rule but depending on the circumstances,i would feed from a male just not in a sexual manner,there may be a period of arousal, but it wouldn't be consummated im sure

I don't really know if there's a connection between sex and vampires as i'm not a feeder myself. But i've noticed that most blood drinkers choose their donors very carefully. And most of these people say that the donor has to be of the oppostie sex but i do not understand this either. Isn't blood all the same?

I think a lot of people just wants to be comfortable with the person that they are with, and i think that is why they choose a partner or donor that they can feel comfortable with, with me i would have to drink blood from a female because i would feel more comfortable, but with someone who is bi i would think the they would feel comfortable with either sex, i honestly do not think of it as sexual you can make it sexual wich it could be, but i think the sexuality in blood drinking came from the movies and that is what people thinks it should be...

Sorry for the late late response. The only time It only feels wrong (over choosing a boy or a girl) is when it comes down to personal preference. If you don't like girls what so ever, Your not going to WANT to take blood and things. Me being me, it just doesn't matter.

to give detail to what I said, (and what everyone else said) Alot of people go by their sexuality when it comes to sex and sometimes feeding. Maybe, maybe not.
Just what I think

For me it is all a matter of preference. I like to feed from both, but if I had my choice it would be a male during the height of the orgasm when the energy is at its most powerful. And, yet is may be just a moment stroking my donor making them feel relaxed and ready for the feeding.

there is absolutely no connection between vampires and sex. It's entirely based on comfort.
Bloodletting, or even just the simple act of taking another's energy (to be blunt), is a VERY intimate act. Sex is one of the most intimate acts someone who is not a vampire does. So, in a way, it's the closest thing we have in describing what it's like when we feed. They are similar in that they are intimate acts, but that's it.

I don't think that there is a specific connection between the two, but it is more of an excitement part of the act. Not that you have to draw blood, I personally like to have my neck bitten, but that is by both guys and girls. For me, it heightens the experience.

I believe it is the ecstasy received by both that cause the "sexuality" you describe.

This is interesting...so what you're saying is that you have to be bi in order to feed off of the same sex? Or are you saying that because of certain issues you would only feed from the opposite sex? Then does not feeding become more of a sexual thing rather than the need to feed on blood?

From what I gather, the bond is not iron clad. It came about because original vampires were all highly attractive males and would generally choose young, attractive women as what they feed from.
Another theory is that (Provided vampires did not exist) vampirism refers to the drain of energy people feel when they orgasm, such as if someone were draining your blood.

Energetically speaking it is the lack of sex, and filling of a need that makes the act of feeding not a fetish. However, there are those who do entwine sex within their partnerships with their donors.

Sex is another form for one who is able to feed from. It is this means that one can say they are inherently linked in the type of vampyrism that the feeder and donor are engaged in at the time.

it is purely a personal preference i believe and why they both go together most likely because they are both urges and desires and one usually makes a bond/a certian connection with the one they feed from.

I see what you are saying Infernal. You are refering possbily to vampires that are both sanguine and psy that can get twice as much satisfaction from the sexual energy as well as blood.

It is so much easier to take prana while having sex, because the guards are all down, and sexual energy flows freely from and to both partners. If you master the channelling of it, it becomes very essential, if you will. Also, taking blood at the moment of climax is amazing. It's almost like floating on a cloud! lol...

Once again, the sexual energies are peaked during climax, so to take blood then is best because it is pumping and flowing faster from the adrenaline.

i believe that certian individuals have addictions to both the feeding of blood and of sexual pleasures and together they become an intense experience for such individuals with these uncontrollable urges..

I think its the combination of energies..the feeding itself is a wonderful energy and sex of course has it own energy..and the two combined..WOO HOO! Vampires feel emotions of all sorts more intensely.So when one has the passion of sex which is a sharing and the passion of feeding which is also a sharing..fireworks!

I have to agree with the last part of your Question hon... Although in the past vamps were seen as demonic creatures with the power to lure and stray people from the beaten path and they evolved into sexual creatures as they started to become more accepted...

for the people who drink blood because they want to, i think they would prefere to be with a person who they feel comfortable with and someone they are attracted to...

I think there's only A bond if you truly like it; some people may have to have blood to get themselves..off, i guess. like true-pyromaniacs, they can only get off if there's fire. [TRUE ones, again I say lol. ]

I think it's all about power. For a Vampire is the feeling of overpowering and seducing a victim and for the victim it's the feeling of being so overpowered. It's the same way in dominant/submissive relationships. I'm a submissive so I understand a bit.

With a living vampire the vampire can afford to be choosey, since the vampire will not die from lack of feeding. If that were not the case then gender preference would not be as much of a factor. It is easier to aproach someone of a gender you feel comfortable with for something that is so personal, whether or not sex is intended. Feeding and sex can be completely independent of each other, but a person is going to be more likely to persue feeding from the same gender that they prefer have sex with. I am not Bisexual so can not say for sure how they would decide. My guess would be for some it would not matter and for others it would only if they have a slight preference to gender. Some vampires use donors that are just that donors there is no sex involved. While others prefer to use a mate or significant other. Others still may use both especially if both parties of a couple are vampires. In the last case the vampire may just feed of the donors and then after the donors leave have sex while still "high" on the energy from the donors. Since humans are all different that means living vampires are all different since they are also human.

If you look at most vampires of fiction when they fed it was generally from someone of a gender they preferred for sex also unless they were feeding out of a more desperate need then it would be more of an attack and gender didnt matter that much. Seduction can be a tool used to get a donor but its hard to seduce someone you have no interest in thier gender. Does a vampire have to feed before during or after sex, no. Does a vampire have to have sex before during or after feeding, no. When the two are combined it's amazing, but you don't have too. In a way it's sorta like food play and sex for non-vampires.

I do believe that there is a connection, it is true that back in the days vampires were supposed to be disgusting things but at the same time they were said to have the ability to hide their true faces so they could be as beautiful as they wanted, which with their powers they could draw male or female to them with just a glance, as for the feeding with sex with the male vampires its usually only added with sex if they are feeding on a woman because its more pleasureable for both and the brief pain for the woman is taken away by the sexual need that is building otherwise with men its a quick action that causes great pain. With the female vampire, they do the same as them men for their pleasure but it is also a saftey issue because yes they may be stronger than the average man but if they dont have the man under their thrall all the way or the mans mind is stronger than the female can be taken by surprise and seriously hurt. Hence also why many vampires will pick someone they trust to feed on, the male or the stronger of the two will go out and feed getting enough blood to satitate their hunger as well as to feed their partner.

Sensuality is perhaps the most important aspect of Vampirism. It is more than just drinking blood or folklore. The ability to seduce the mind as well as the body and spirit is priceless.

I do drink and I don't think there is a direct link between blood and sex but there are certainly some indirect ones.

I find very powerful bonding in the act of drinking and I naturally feel more compelled to bond with females than males but that probably is more just the fact that I love close relationships with women more than I do men.

On the other hand where there is already a strong sexual attraction or relationship, drinking is exquisite! What a powerful and intimate act. The sex makes the drinking even more incredible and the blood makes the sex better also.

I have also fed from and had males feed from me, but once again it was due to the nature of wanting a closer bond and not sexual at all.

So it can really be both, if sex is already part of the equation it can be very sexual indeed.

There does not have to be any kind of sexual bond at all.It's purely a decision and a choice. The two are NOT connected.One can feed and just get energy, and I know many folks who feed from friends that are the same sex ,and it's purely giving someone a gift that they need.It has nothing to do with sex.

Being psi/sang I feed with sex at times as the arousal state raises energies and there is an abundance of energy with orgasmic thrills and in the bodily fluids there is energy, but only with females and i am very picky about my mates.

I am bisexual and I've never drank from a woman. I'm around more males than females. I find that to me girls are more delicate and I don't like the thought of hurting them. I'm just more protective over girls where I think men can take it. I know that either sex wouldn't be harmed by it; I think it's just a mental image that I have.

i only know from how i feed but i profer to feed from some one i care about mostly lass's because i guess in some way feeding off a man would just feel strange as i know i tend to wrap myself around the person im feeding off

Although feeding is a physical thing for sangs, it's not necessarily a sexual thing. I myself have fed off people I have no sexual connection to. But I confess I prefer it when I just feed off my beloved. But I reckon that may also be because I feel totally safe with him, and possibly even the love makes the blood (or rather the energy in the blood) stronger...

I know that energy vampires use the sexualy energy to feed off, and blood is really just a focus for that energy anyway.

The fact of the matter is that every vamp is different in what they do or how they feed. It may not be a major difference but there are still differences. I for one don't equate sex with feeding. I equate feeding with love. I feel it's the ultimate way to give yourself to the one you love and visa versa.

Well I am not a vampire, but for one thing I am bi so sex really doesn't matter to me, as for how I would choose, I prefer guys, and I have to agree with the opening statement that blood is the same no matter where you get it from.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I was under the impression that Vampires (REAL vampires, not RPG ones) are incapable of copulation.

That said, I think "vampires" are associated with sexuality because there's kind of a BDSM thing going on with the idea of taking blood from other for energy and pleasure.

Other than that - I think the term "vampire" needs to be more specifically defined to really get into the conversation. Are we talking about RPG vamps? Revnants? Re-animated bodies that feed on blood for survival (borderline zombie, IMO)?

for me, there can be a link..but not always. Sometimes it just feeding. I am bi, but do prefer men.I will feed from a woman if the bond is strong enough.

That said, I am very careful who I feed from..tests are done and the like. When it is sexual, its because I have those feelings for the person..and its like they are sharing their life with you..since blood is the life lol..I also feel that its a huge trust issue to let someone cut you..so for me, the trust, love, lust and feeding all combine..

Blood is Blood, there are different kinds of blood and all blood is unique to the person it resides in, but there are no differences due to the sex of the person buy only because they are two different people alltogether
