Here's a subject which is something I've often pondered on but never given any real serious thought to. I haven't heard anyone bring it up before either, and I think the answer is as usual, just a matter of opinion.
There is the common belief that when you die, you come back as something esle, you reincarnate. Your soul returns to the 'land of the living' in a different life.
There is also the common belief that once a person has died, their spirit can be reached through channelling and clairvoyance.
This conflicts because if the soul of the dead person has been born into a new life, how can they still be reached as the person from their past life? Do you think that a living person can be channelled... not the actualy person persay, but their soul. The soul that 'remembers' all the lives it has had.
This is a bit of a brain-bender and it is a bit hard for me to put into words, but hopefully you understood. Please don't give any pathetically short answers or ones with no thought in them.
So please tell me, what do you think?
It's a time thing ...I think most who pass over do not reincarnate till they have the rest of their loved ones with them....a period of 'time' is usually needed to 'recover' and take stock etc.
i think you might be able to call a soul if the soul was reincarnated it just depends on what the souls been reincarnated as like if the soul is now in an animal and someone tries to call it then the animal might pass out or die for a time until the soul can return im thinking that theres a time limit to it cause that makes sense. but thats just what i thought its definately something that makes you think
you say "This conflicts because if the soul of the dead person has been born into a new life, how can they still be reached as the person from their past life?" how do you know it conflicts?? is it so hard to believe a soul"" can multitask??? i believe in the existence of realities beyond perceptual
or intellectual apprehension that are central to being and directly
accessible by subjective experience.. open your mind.. is the lass 1/2 empty or 1/2 full..
or perhaps the glass is to big?? a person can talk on a phone and chat online at the same time with ease... why cant a soul??
That's what i meant, can a soul be reached even when it's in a new body/life? That makes me think it is also possible to channel a living person... 0___o;
If that is so, how is it that no-one has returned and said....yes I'm Bill, but most of me is reanimating somone/where else ?
I dont deny the possibility...but am curious that this has not happened.
People are still thinking on an linear time frame and assuming that time is the same in spirit has it is here on Earth? It might be a good idea to understand each of these topics before you throw and lump them together. Just a thought.
I've read once on a site, that before someone reincarnates their spirit spends sometime in an alter life dimension.
At the same time some people belief that exactly as a person dies, their spirit enters into another body.
Bah it's all about beliefs.Maybe certain people reincarnate while others don't?
Also as for the memories, some say that they get dejavu, visions and dreams of their past lives,so this might mean that for some their memories remain,or maybe they get these visions and anything, when someone tries to reach their spirit?
Or when someone tries to reach their spirit, they get a feeling of someone who's calling them?I've heard of this too.
Heh...
Deathnite has a similar conclusion that I do, mayhaps the spirit is in an alternate dimension, one not of the spirit world...Of course this conclusion would be a bit far fetch, but then again...We do believe in just about everything thrown our way...lol
Just maybe when channeling, this alternate dimension addressed P.O. Box - The other side of the universe, has a two way radio instead of just a one way -how are you, and are you with us...Type of channeling. *Shrugs* Anything is possible, nothing is impossible...Only improbable.
Yeah..or maybe that we have two spirits?
The one in us and another one in another dimension?
Bah...
Well, a person or a soul, or katra, or what ever shit, is made out of not only one idea, but MANY!
So guess that the one who is reaching is reaching one of these ideas.
If the doctrine of reincarnation is true, then it must be logical that
not all the souls have previous reincarnations.
There are some "new" souls.
If we talk about metempsychosis the things can be different.
I guess you put the question pretty strange but I don`t see why you couldn`t "channel" a soul of a living by summoning his previous reincarnation.
After all is just the same soul.
MMM I dont know maybe im not understading this topic or something but......
Why does it have to be the same soul, spirit person? Why can t a ghost just be someone who has no yet gone to the here after....
And the reincarnation be of souls that have already gone beyond our here after..
There are so many things you could debate. Such as after we die and people say you get a visit from past loved ones... Or u always here well i will see them again in heaven ... You might not see them they could end up a ghost or have been reincarnated already right??
Anyhow hope what i said made some type of sence it did in my head...
I have to add a single thing here.
The soul time is a personal one, not a continuum.Even in this life we have a strange subjective perception of time.Sometimes a second would appear for aus like ten minutes.
The soul after we die enters in a different dimension and that implies time too not just matter.
Time is a relative dimension.
;)
Dragonrouge
I have read your post with interest.
My question to you would be....wouldn't the one who is communicating from Spirit be aware that another part of them is animating another body on this world ?
ps...I don't think anyone from Spirit can actually be summoned.
I think you are a ghost till its time for you to rejoin the world
Bein reincarnated would have to be right after you died I thought.....
Yes, time is a man-made thing. It's never occurred to me that there might be a personal 'time period' between the person dying and them reincarnating. As someone said, some think it instant, some not. I think perhaps it is just possible, as Dragonrogue said, to contact a soul even when it is in a new life.. to contact it as it's previous incarnation.
There are different levels of conscience.
Some levels require a special preparation. If you or another person are trying to reach your inner centre of your personal being (some levels are not personal, I guess you call them "Spirit") the person may or not be aware of that. That depends of their purity(or of their self awareness) and/or magical guardian.
The human has some elements that can enter one in the other. Some magicians call them body, soul and spirit.
They are more or less related. That depends on the person.
That is common to all animated objects. Some say that this is common even in the unanimated objects, even manmade objects.
"Channeling" the soul of a person is like... hmm... catching a radio signal. You can not imprision it.And you had to have the radio device and to find the wave lenght.
It is harder to contact a dead soul then a living one.
Yes, I understand what you are saying.
The thing is, I can 'believe' that parts of us...Soul if you like can be active on other dimensions and we may or may not be aware of them.
I don't know why, but I just can't believe that the same could apply to this dimension.
It's just that a thing either 'feels' true or not with me.....I can fully accept that my thoughts on this are not logical. lol
My thanks for replying so quickly.
i myself believe that we can come back in another lifeform of sorts but mostly are waiting in another plain til the rest of our family joins us this is a very good thread and i am very interested in knowning where we actionly go when we leave our body when we die.
It seems like ghosts are always being seen by people, so maybe a ghost is a person who has yet to be reincarnated, and with channelling and clairvoyance, i always thought that a persons soul kept all of their thoughts and feelings through all of their reincarnations, and i do not see why a persons soul could not be reached by channelling and clairvoyance even if the person has been reincarnated into a new body...
There are different type of "ghosts"
place recording where its the same thing happening over and over and nothing you do can change it.
then there are the ones that seem aware of us and inter act.
Now how I believe talking with the dead and reincarnation works is kinda simple. I believe you only return to this life if you wish to. Its not mandatory at all. So not everyone comes back. And you have control over when you return as well. So sometimes you may be able to speak to say.. great aunt mary .. and hen after a time you would not... because she has not opted to return at first but then decided to.
So no I do not think you can "channel" a living soul.. or i should say a soul that is involved in a present lifetime.
I do not see why a soul cannot be channeled through /from a person it makes sense to me
hmm, well I think that everyone has cool ideas and opinions. I am unlimited in my spiritual thinking. i believe that some souls can be channeled. i do not think that the same thing happens to each soul when a person dies. It may depend on their awareness enlightenment. Some may disapate into just unconcious energy and join the many streams of flow possibly becomming something else. Some may be aware enough to hold together and choose to be born again. Others may choose simply to be. And I absolutly think that u can channel to a living person but the outcome may differ in each situation. Some may not be excepted if they r trying to push themselves upon others. Some connectons allow u to channel energy to another person in a case of hightened emotion.

Maybe it's like running a VM Ware server.. mutliple operating systems running off the same hardware.. multilpe ways of communicating to a soul, whether it's in a person, or in a bug.. or, whatever.
I give you permission to channel my soul. I will do parties or private consultations. My current carnation would like you to paypal money to her account no later than 6 hours pre-channeling as a courtesy. Please use linear time as a reference point in determining the 6 hours. :)
I had always believed that when a soul comes back it is "empty" and has to complete the task that it has chose to complete in the "new" life. As that it is "empty", the memories, etc. are basically "stored" on an alternate plane of existence and therefor can be contacted and channeled.
This is just what I have been taught and believe.
I do think that there is a conflict because I really don't believe in reincarnation. I'm not totally convinced that there is an afterlife at all. I don't think that there is any way that there could be both reincarnation and ghosts for the very reason that you described. If you tried to contact a spirit in the afterlife you would probably get an error message or something.
That's something I've thought a lot about, thanks for bringing this up.
As a firm believer in both spiritual interference(ghosts, etc.) and also a believer in reincarnation I've spent much time trying to rationalize this.
The explanation I've come up with is simple. My beliefs conclude that so many times around, beings stop being reincarnated and move on to a higher plane of existence, or lower plane, a heaven or hell sort of deal.
I believe that ghosts are souls trapped in this mortal coil, but not having achieved enough to be deemed bad, or good, so they're kind of stuck for the time being, or for eternity.
Also, severe trauma or confusedness seems to screw up the way of things.
That's just my opinion though, I have no way to back that up or try and prove it.
Maybe you get a choice between reincarnated or being a ghost in some way.
""That's what i meant, can a soul be reached even when it's in a new body/life? That makes me think it is also possible to channel a living person... 0___o;""
i believe it is possible...
Maybe a ghost is a spirt of someone who died when they still had 'issue's' and you reincarnate once those issue's are resolved, just a theory.
There has been several threads on reincarnation and ghosts.
My theory is that our souls are immortal, and as far as ghosts go, tis someone who has unfinished buisness here or simply wants to stay.
a ghost i see is someone who is waiting for his/her next life, and reincarnation is the product after the matter.
I believe in the existence of realities beyond perceptual
or intellectual apprehension that are central to being and directly
accessible by subjective experience
I recall now from an experience that I once had involving a group of 13 people. 9 of these people were able to channel the same spirit at the same time, and if this is possible, then what is impossible? If a spirit can do so much at once, then perhaps it can still be channelled even when in a new life.
it is entirely possible that the soul of a living person can be channeled. If it is possible to astral travel and not be aware of it then I think it is possible for the astral body to be called for a bit by someone else.

Ok... mind you this is just my opinion.... and when I die this life... if I remember, Ill come back and give the answer.... lol.
In all seriousness.. I think that when a persons physical being passes on the spirit does one of two, stays here, or reincarnates.... I think it depends on if that person is needed straight away somewhere else....
As far as channeling another after death... I think once the spirit is reincarnated no. It then becomes a matter of meeting someone new from a past life. I have never heard of someone meeting the same soul in the same lifetime. *shrugs*
The only other suggestion I can offer is one that was brought to my attention while discussing this thread with my husband. Perhaps it is possible to channel someone that has passed even if they have reincarnated... Whos to say that our spirits have to be restricted to one life, to one place... I think that I will ask him to post on this though and perhaps elaborate on that further as currently I think my brain has overloaded. lol.
I believe its a time thing as well, i believe if a spirit has to much holding them to this earth that they become stuck here, and if there isnt anything holding them back they have a rest period then be recarnated..thats just my thought
I dont think in the average linear forms always.
I have had the chance to see a reincarnated soul within another, then actually talk to the ........ person of times that were before their memory. The soul is eternal. And not always what you think it to be.
I'm not expert in all this at all but i seem to remember in egyptian tradition there were 7 'parts' of a soul. Sorry i remember any of the details, i saw the show on one of the documentries a few yrs back. What i am trying to get at that maybe the 'ghost' is only one part of the entire spirt?
I'll have a look for the info.
That TwistedWhispers would be wonderful.. I would love the info when you find it.
:D
O.K, boys and girls i found it:) rather than doing a copy and paste job i put in the website address. I would do a link but i don't know how to do them:(( if some can create one, please do. I'm useless lol
http://www.britannica.com/eb/topic-47197/ba
ghosts are people who have not pass on into the light and reincarnation is coming back from the dead to persue another life
Why can the same 'person' do both, aftr all, there's all of erternity to do this, not excatly a rush lol
P.S sorry about the typo errors. I'm shattered and can't spell!! (1.30am, u.k time)
Well,
there is supposed to be a variable timeframe between incarnations. Some time for the soul to rest and regroup before it is born to labor through another life. That particular soul might wish to be there for quite some time before it comes back. It's not instantaneously from death to rebirth.
i thought its definately something that makes you think
as i said before... I believe in the existence of realities beyond perceptual or intellectual apprehension that are central to being and directly accessible by subjective experience..... theirfore any of these thoughts and ideas posted could be true...
Hi Cherry! I would go for reincarnation rather than a ghost. It is tangible ;)
in my beliefs, there is either you come back to earth, you are stuck romaning with troubles leaving earth, or you ascend...
you come back to earth because you have left something undone, such as kharma, or because you asked for it.
you are stuck roaming, for various reasons
probably a conflict or turbulance in the proces of leaving to that destination as spirit..
you ascend to another dimension when you are done with all your responsibilities in the past dimension...
it is possible to channel some one who walks as someone else... we do not imeadiately reincarnate ... and even if we do chanel someone that has, think about it. we carry much more than our current selfs, and thats why sometimes we have funky dreams and revelations...we are someone or somebody that is either new to this earth or has walked it many times before
I believe in reincarnation. If you die in this life you come back either better then this life if your this life was good or if you did wrong you come back worse.
i think if your soul wants to reincarnate itself to learn more it will be born again but if it wants to move on and live an eternal life it will remain a ghost
I have heard in tibetian tradition your soul evenually asends once you reach a level of 'perfection' or greater spiritual understanding. There was an online article about this i can across a while back, but i can't remember the site's name:(
In Buddhism, reincarnation is a very important aspect of the belief. However, that being said, The Buddha preached that reincarnation was constrained by two core Buddhist concepts: anattā, that there is no irreducible ātman or "self" tying these lives together; and anicca, that all compounded things are subject to dissolution, including all the components of the human person and personality.
At the death of one personality, a new one comes into being, much as the flame of a dying candle can serve to light the flame of another.
Since according to Buddhism there is no permanent and unchanging self (identify) there can be no transmigration in the strict sense. However, the Buddha himself referred to his past-lives. Buddhism teaches that what is reborn is not the person but that one moment gives rise to another and that that momentum continues, even after death. It is a more subtle concept than the usual notion of reincarnation, reflecting the Buddhist concept of personality existing (even within one's lifetime) without a "soul".
People that channel the dead spirit of another is, according to this belief, the spirit of the dead. Does that mean that the spirit cannot be reincarnated? Personally, I do no think so.
You stated that this is a matter of opinion, and I agree completely with that. In my opinioin, why should life or reincarnation be constrained to existance in the realm of the physical. I learned early on of different levels of existance tha coexist within one another; the physical, spiritual, and etheral bodies. Each has its place, and none are prevalent to the other.
I think it all depends on how strong that spirit of the person whom died is in the new life/ body..
i have decided 2 stay away from such thoughts untill sum1 comes up with direct evidence that ether proves 1, or disproves the other.
i have decided 2 stay away from such thoughts untill sum1 comes up with direct evidence that ether proves 1, or disproves the other.
i have decided 2 stay away from such thoughts untill sum1 comes up with direct evidence that ether proves 1, or disproves the other.
I believe it can be Called or Channled if the soul is strong enough even if it is in another body, there is probly a lot of speculation on his this subject well I would guess anyway but, I do believe every soul can be reached no matter what plane they are on.
some say i am going to hell some say i am going to heaven, now those who believe in reincarnation would you still go to heaven or hell
since this cannot be proven, and is all a matter of faith, i will like to give my opinion too...
i've spoken to ghost or spirits or whatever, many times, and after a certain period i've find out, that they were lying to me... after that, i have stud the bible since then till now, and my opinion is based in what i've learned from there... accordingly to the bible, reincarnation does not exist (and please people, save your comments to yourself), listen, this is just my opinion based in my own experience and studies that i made after that, i've read lots of books only about spirituality... continuing, and it's impossible to contact the dead, so, the ones we speak too, when we invoke ghosts, are not who they say they are... accordingly to the bible, every ghost we speak too, is a demon, with the power to deceive everyone... there are exceptions, if you are very close to God, you can speak to angels or even a dead person, but this does not depends on you, it is God who sends those messengers to speak to you, not you that try to contact them...
remember, just my point of view...
madvampgoddess - If you are Christian and believe in Heaven and Hell, (as well as reincarnation) then the location you go to before being reincarnated would depend on who you serve - God or the Devil.
It is not necessary to die in order to be reincarnated, however. In Hebrew tradition, Elijah ascended into heaven. He never died but will be reincarnated to prepare the way for the arrival of the Meshiach.
Wolfsbohne i have read your post yesterday, and i do not get upset with this kind of conversations... like you, i give my opinions based in what i believe... Elijah will not reincarnate, he will be sent to earth by God, it will be a supernatural event... but everyone seems to be very skeptical about the supernatural stuffs...
Perhaps ghosts are just souls that can not move on to a new life. Maybe some thing so horrible happened to them in death that they just can not let go of the life they had.
I think the difference between spirt and reincarnation is the belief and path the person followed in their life. If you believe and follow a path that embraces reincarnation I feel this is where your sould will go. If you have the belief in spiritual passing this is what you will become.
This is only my personal belief, I believe in reincarnation. In passing you attain a higher level of enlightenment based on the preceding life's path. I however do believe in the spirit world, just not that I will be a part of it. I will follow my preordained path to what ever level I am to be.
malakh - reincarnation itself would be a rather supernatural thing would it not?
Jesus proclaimed John, the Baptist, to be the reincarnation of Elijah. Granted, they never used the word reincarnation, but from the prophesy Malachi made, the Gospel of Matthew interpreted the "messenger of God" to be John. That messenger of God was Elijah.
even if reincarnation is interpreted as supernatural, is the type of thing that does not need the will of a being... we always will find excuses to leave God out of this, only those who fear their way of living, like to give excuses about a possible judgment that they will need to pass... if you believe in reincarnation that's alright, you don't need nothing else... so why giving excuses? why try to have the good parts of some religions? you can not have both... if God is God, follow him... if not, forget about God, He is not going to save you if you do not believe in His words... the words of the bible cannot be mixed with other religions or philosophies and vice-versa... so why the need to try to do that? fear?
Jesus was making a symbolic comparison, Elijah has not appear here yet, he will appear after the rapture, he will be one of the two testimonies in Jerusalem... they will do wonders and talk about the kingdom of heaven to those that will stay behind, and they will be killed in front of everyone... then, they will be left as a testimony for everyone to see, that they could not beat the beast... after three days they will rise again, and will ascend to heaven... and everyone will see this occur... that's why Jesus talked about Elijah...
I believe that those who died very violent or sudden deaths stay for a while until they finish there business here.
Wolfsbohne ty for that, i ask this because i never read the bible, which i should start so i know more about it but.. i am curious of questions that just cant be exsplained everyone has there opinions and beliefs i am one who can listen to all beliefs and not get mad at them, its just so interesting to me , and i learn from all
I never truly thought about how the two common beliefs conflict. But you make a good point. Could a living soul reincarnated be channeled? I think it's possible. If the soul can remember it's past lives. It's been shown that people themselves carry on memories of past lives when they are reincarnated. So who's to say that, that soul can't be contacted.
God did... have you a way to prove the opposite? no, you not... no one can prove such things... and i have speak to "spirits" many times and i know how to contact them... so, if no one can prove it, it is as valid as your beliefs saying that we cannot contact the dead, that reincarnation does not exist, and that every occult contact that we have on our own , is with demons and not with spirits or ghosts...
once that each every one of us die, we'll see the final truth about death... we'll just have to wait and see...
I don't know if you would really want to "channel" a soul that is already reincarnated. That would require sucking the soul out of another body and having it "speak" through you. If you want to talk to the reincarnated soul just speak to the person the soul was reincarnated into.
Does that make sense?
i do not believe in reincarnation. I believe your spirit moves on
in the bible says very explicit that reincarnation does not exist, but it would take lots of space to put up all the verses that makes reference to that...
i will give you two passages, one from the old testament and one from the new...
Ecclesiastes 12:5 "yea, they shall be afraid of [that which is] high, and terrors [shall be] in the way; and the almond-tree shall blossom, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail; because man goeth to his everlasting home, and the mourners go about the streets:
6 before the silver cord is loosed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern,
7 and the dust returneth to the earth as it was, and the spirit returneth unto God who gave it."
Hebrews 9:27 "And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this [cometh] judgment;"
Without reincarnation, the birth of Jesus is no more than the birth of another descendant of David.
Malachi 3:1
Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
Here, in the Old Testament, He is speaking of the return of Elijah (aka Elias). Without that return, the teacher would not be God's messenger.
The Angel Gabriel later speaks to Zechariah, John's father, as he prepares for the birth of both Jesus and John -
Luke 1:17
And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
There are references in the Gospel of Matthew as well - but like you said malakh, there is not enough room in this forum to provide all of the references.
^^ lol
you have to know how to interpret the several literary styles of the bible...
when the Angel Gabriel was telling that, he was saying that John will have the same characteristics of Elias, not that he will be the reincarnation of Elias... and the proof of that is in:
John 1:19 "And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent unto him from Jerusalem priests and Levites to ask him, Who art thou?
20 And he confessed, and denied not; and he confessed, I am not the Christ.
21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah? And he saith, I am not. Art thou the prophet? And he answered, No.
22 They said therefore unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said Isaiah the prophet.
24 And they had been sent from the Pharisees.
25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why then baptizest thou, if thou art not the Christ, neither Elijah, neither the prophet?"
you can believe in whatever you want to believe... and that's fine, no one is criticizing you for that... but you can not change something just because you wanted that to be truth... the bible is against reincarnation, and there is nothing that can change that...
you don have to believe that... but i'll use the same thing that someone told me here on VR, when i said that supernatural vampires are described in the bible...
'when someone wants to find something that he truly believes that's real, he finds it... even if it's not there...'
this has the same application...
So you would agree that the foretelling of the true Savior would be the arrival of Elijah? And if John was not Elijah, then how is Jesus the Christ?
Matthew 17, Jesus claims that Elijah did come. If that's the case than who?
in the same chapter you can see that God has sent Moises and Elijah to earth, and Jesus and his disciples saw them in a vision... you have to read the scriptures with the help and supernatural comprehension of the Holy-Ghost (available to all that believe)
pay attention to verse 14:
1 Corinthians 2:9 "but as it is written, Things which eye saw not, and ear heard not, And [which] entered not into the heart of man, Whatsoever things God prepared for them that love him.
10 But unto us God revealed [them] through the Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For who among men knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which is in him? even so the things of God none knoweth, save the Spirit of God.
12 But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that were freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Spirit teacheth; combining spiritual things with spiritual [words].
14 Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged."
now, Jesus will come again and Elijah will come before Him and here it will be fulfilled that old testament prophecies... Elijah did not died yet, and when he comes again, he will be killed for the first time... God will send him from heaven, but he will not born, it will be a supernatural event...
if anyone does not have the gift of the Holy Ghost, then that one cannot interpret the bible... but, receiving the Holy Ghost is available to all, not just for a few people... are you humble enough to receive him?
i can not discuss such complicated subjects, because my english is not good enough for that, i would like to discuss this in my native language, but since is not possible... forget it...
to believe in reincarnation or to be an atheist is the same thing to me, because in the end, we'll lose everything... loosing my personality, memories and unique qualities that i have now, is to lose everything...
if i can not life forever with my actual unique personality, this life makes no sense to me... and I HATE HER...
Gardner called it the Summerlands, the Norse called it Valhalla, the Catholics call it Purgatory, the Greeks called it the Elysian Fields. It's all the same realm. It's a place between here and the higher dimension, where eventually your spirit will ascend to when it has learned everything this realm has to teach it. When you die, your spirit (usually) goes to this realm to rest and recouperate, and to reflect on the lesson(s) learned in its previous life.
Now ghosts specifically, on the other hand, are souls that for one reason or another did not pass over. They did not leave this realm, therefore they are not able to be reincarnated.
For any who are interested, here is a nifty link that explains the logic behind what I had been trying to convey.
http://near-death.com/experiences/origen03.html
About a quarter of the way down, there is a section titled Reincarnation and the Secret Teachings of Jesus. It provides a good arguement in favor of reincarnation.
i think a gosts is a person is a person that has not been resincarnated yet.
once you die you become a spirit or ghost, (not always visible) and from there you have a journy you must undertake untill you find another peice you are missing only then are you reincarnated, and work again to another peice of the puzzle
i think that you can still reach the soul of a person that has been reincarnated, but the soul might be able to remember all its past lives.
Well put ShadowDraven I couldn't have said it any better
My belief agrees with ShadowDraven, in that, when we release our soul from our body we wander the spirit world as ghosts until it is our time to return to another life to understand our calling and this process is to be repeated until we come to a state of understanding and advance to another plane of existance...
ya i have to agree with shadowdraven on this. theres no better way to say it.
On this i do believe in reincarnation and why would it not be possible to channel a living reincarnate?
On this subject you have to think outside of the box. Just like with the multi-dimensions would it not be possible for the soul to be multi-faceted and be able to do many things at once. Just like we multi-task, but its multi-tasking would be on a higher scale and more faceted than our own.
I also believe as far as ghosts it maybe souls that do not wish to be reincarnated or are bound here for some reason. Maybe due to a traumatic death or due to loved ones or by other means that we do not perceive or understand as of yet.
There is so much that we do not know yet or understand and this is just a tip of the iceberg to the expansion of the universe and we may never know until we are there and may forget when we reincarnate, because somethings may not be for us to know as of yet and in time we may know, but not at this time, so most of this is just speculation and theories and beliefs and opinions.
The answers to this question depend on what it is you believe.
A soul does not have to take the leap of reincarnation straight away.
When on a journey, some of us will take longer to reach our desired destination than others
when a person reincarnates they are a different entity... they may recall past lives... but they are not the same person... so yes you can channel them... and not all spirits reincarnate
