I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced a dream or preminition where a loved one u cared for deeply that has passed away comes to u in a dream and if so what does this mean?
my grandma had a dream the night that my uncle passed away, he was standing there with her mother and he told her that he was alright. If anything else happened in the dream i don't know, but that same night before i knew what happened I saw the door creak open on its own while I was in bed, and i felt a warm tingling traveling up my back...
after my grandfather passed away several years ago he started visiting me in my dreams, on the very rare occasion i do have dreams and not nightmares. it's always when i'm very troubled or i'm very truely afraid and he comforts me in the dream just as he did when he was living.
I don't know what it means...but I have had dreams with loved ones in it that have passed away. maybe its the loved ones trying to contact us.
it means they are telling you that they will always be with you i had a dream of my grandfather like that and out of it i felt confort and releese
I have dreams frequently that feature both my parents, who have been gone quite some time now. I used to think it was because I ate a taco or something too close to bed time..but on reflection I think they "stop in" in my dreams to say hello, to remind me that they are watching over me.
(please disregard my post I was my head soemwhere lost sorry this is my real post, please a dominar may delete it please? and edit this one I am deeply sorry)
In our dream ti is a realm where we leave ourselve vunerable and more open to the different realm and plane of existence so it allows the spirits ot approche us easier.
Almost evryone that i have ever talked to has had dreams like this where their family or friends would come back to them in their dreams, but i have never had this happen to me i think that it happens to people who are really close to the family members who comes and visits them, with me i was not close to the people who died in my family that is probably why they did not visit me...
I sometimes have dreams about my late aunt who passed away a couple years ago. She just appears in my dream and usually it's with my mother and my other aunts. In the dreams I have about them/her, I don't know she's dead IRL. Or else I do but something in my dream tells me to not say anything or even think it (like, "wow, she's dead".. I usually get stopped before those thoughts come to pass.
Anyway, I had a different dream about her earlier in the year where I was in this train station dreaming something totally different. I was in a crowd and I was getting on a train. Someone tapped my shoulder from behind and it was her. She told me a bunch of things like, to pass messages on to everyone in my family and she warned me about some private matter concerning my mother. I forget what she told me to tell them though :(
I've had such weird things happen to me in my life, and I'm such a skeptic about most of it. That one dream I do believe though.
My family really believes people who have died visit us in our dreams and maybe it's true, I don't know.
I have had dreams where people talk to me who i do not know, then i find out later who they are... Its odd.
I have never personally experienced this but have friends who have. They seemed to feel comforted by what they saw and heard.
No never had that, I dont dream dead ppl.
And if they come, well I guess it is all friendly, with out any bother, trying to warn me bout some upcoming event, wich will sewer my legs, and arms, so I shouldnt go in that car today, not my granpaa manicly asking money for liquor.
the meaning of the dream all depends on the content of it. does the spirit say something is the dream plesant or vailent. No matter what the dream its usaly the love one telling you how they are or what happend to casue them to die.
I used to dream about my dead granfather, and see him dieing but not the way he really died,I wonder what it was it's significance...
Can I ask what the family members are doing when they come to you in your dreams? Anything specific? Or just appearing there?
My faith believes heavily in dreams and the messages they give. But dream interpretation is not a simple thing, there are only a few who have this gift.
Dreams could be just one way spirits of loved ones can contact us and let us know that everything is ok and for us to move on with our lives.
I personally have not had this happen but a friend of mine had her great grandma visit her.... she said the only thing she mentioned in the dream was a teddy bear with a bow... when she went to her grandma's house to visit a couple of days after the same teddy that she mentioned was there and it had a bow around it's neck. she said it made her feel better knowing that her great grandma was ok.... I thought it was a joke until she showed me the bear..... it was the same bear I had seen several times and it never had a bow around it's neck before..... she still has the bear, bow and all, in her room displayed on a shelf....
My Grandmother and my Mother both have come to me in dreams. Both times it has been in a time of distress to comfort me.
I have had this where my brother has come to me in my dreams, to me it is giving me strength in this cruel world and help get through alot of termoils.
my grandma and other mother both came to me in a dreams for weeks after there deaths. I still have no clue what my grandmother was thryin gto tell me. every once in awhile i have the same dream.
I have never personally experienced something like this but do have friends who have. They never seemed bothered by it and were in fact comforted in the experience.
I think this is something many people have experienced....mostly they come to give love and support when needed, or to let you know they are far from 'dead'.
When my Uncle passed away.. i had a dream about him..and he told me that he would allways be watcing over me.. before he dissapered.... after that.. i didnt have any,ore dreams about him
My grandfather’s best friend had past away about 3 years ago, though he is like a grandfather to me. About a couple of days shortly after his death I saw him in my dream with white clothes on sitting on a chair with his cane at his side and looked very happy. After I woke up I had a strong feeling that he was doing ok and that he rests in peace.
when my mom died she is the only person i drempt she was telling me i would be ok and same thing happened when my dad passed away i didnt know what it meant until now .
I have had that happen quite a few times..it started when my grandpa passed on he came to me the night he died and told me he loved me and he would always be here when I needed him...now when I am upset or depressed about something he shows up in my dreams to help me to feel better.
Yes this has happen to me, I believe it is one of the ways they are let you know that they are still with you and that they are okay.
I often have dreams of my first love, who died 11 years ago in a skydiving accident. He comes to me in dreams, usually wearing a jumpsuit. Most of the time, he appears out of nowhere, normally in an open field. He hugs me, and normally there are few words, but he ALWAYS says to me before the dream ends that he is always with me, and watches over me. He normally will give me a last hug, and sometime a kiss, and then I wake up from the dream.
I know that he is with me; when I wake from the dreams, they feel more real than any other dreams I have.
My grandmother seeps into my girlfreinds dreams on occation, she's always dead, but not. She's at the funeral home and she sits up. Always a frightening dream for her.
No idea what THAT means
I've had a few dreams of deceased family members before, but not often, My mom, on the other hand, says she has them almost every night. I'm not too sure what that means....
I've had dreams about my father, who died when I was 6...But they were just dreams. I don't think they meant anything.
nope and hope i dont ever do cuz that would just creep me out
i usually dream of my ex after he passed away when something is seriously bothering me and when i wake up it is like my mind is refreshed and i know excately what to do
I have had a deceased loved one seemingly appear to me in a dream. Even more strange, was once while I was home, the telephone rang. When I answered the line was fairly quiet except for some low static. When I repeatedly said hello, I heard my dead father say "is that you, what are you doing?" The line then went dead. Needless to say I was curious, not freaked but kind of amazed. I am wondering if it was him not wanting to leave or maybe warning me but about what who can say. I know it sounds weird, but it did happen.
Lord Absinthe, that is a very wonderful event you experienced *smiling*
My grandfather comes to me in my dreams all the time. I am not sure what it means really. I was just talking to a friend about this. Sometimes he guides me when I need guidance. Other times he just appears. In all actuality, I am just glad it happens. I know it sounds strange, but I feel like he is still a big part of my life because of it.
I used to have a childhood friend come to me in my dreams when I was younger. I haven't dreampt about him in a while.
I have had people that have passed on appear in my dreams. I don’t really think that this means anything though. I honestly don’t think that dreams have meaning. Sine I think that dreams are basically just random unconscious thoughts with no meaning I don’t think there is significance in someone appearing in them.
When I lost my father, I had a dream one night that my aunt was takin my out to eat at Micky D's ( huhs i love that place). She also told me that there was someone that wantd to see me. Well when we got there, there were other family members there and my aunt looked at me and said that he was over there. I followed the direction that she had pointed in and once i got closer to the person, I realized that it was my father.
I have gotten different repsonses to what that dream meant, but stil nothing satisfies me.
My grandmother appeared to me one hur b/4 she died. I even heard the phone call that the nurse left telling us she died. When the phone rang latter I knew. It was her way to let me know to prepare.
My grandma always communicate when we are passing through a crisis...
we can smell her around... the house fills up with her smell....
this started happening to me at the age of 6 when my great granmother passed away and visited me that night in a dream and then when I opened my eyes i saw her sitting on my bed.
also when I was 18 I had a miscarriage and my daughter visited me in a dream to tell me that she was with our family and that I would have other children someday.
I think it most defiantly depends on the situation surrounding the dreams and the person having the dreams.
I have had dreams about family members of the past that there is no way I could know the details about. I have caused concern in my mother when asking about some of them.
As for the dreams about my father and some of the other family members I have been close to, I am skeptical because I'm bias and partial to believing it is them contacting me.
I think we would all love to believe our loved ones are contacting us. It gives us faith and hope most of the time.
I have only had this happen once. While I was in the hospital after a gas well exploded on the drilling rig I worked on, I was lying in my room, and I heard my grandfather, who has been gone for 10 or so years, tell me not to give up, and that I would be alright.
i think most of us have but its just our minds way of saying goodbye
Many of my good friends and close relatives have been communicating with me through dreams
This has happened to me several times, after my grandfather passed away he came to me in my dreams many times. Mainly just to let me know that he is still watching over me, and I know that he was watching over me when I got in my car accident.
Dreams are the easiest way for a spirit to come thru. Its the one time your mind is not refusing to see or hear.. after all its just a dream. I have this happen alot. Usually just to chat sort of. And its helps me to know they are ok and oft times they come when I need help figuring something out
i have not had experiences plus i dont remember my dreams
I haven't. My mom has. When I was three my great Uncle Wilard died. She dreamt that he came and told her goodbye and that he loved her and me.
I dream of my father who passed more than my mother because he passed in 1996. My mother passed in 1972 but I still dream about her. I think it's just them watching over me.
I think if it does happen it is very important or atleast it is to the spirit because they are crossing to make a point
well this wasn't really a dream but my Father told me that the night his Father passed away...he woke up in the middle of the night and saw a figure standing in the corner of the room and he knew that it was his Father...A few nights after his funeral, my Mother had a dream that he was in a plane, and holding his hand out to all of us, telling us to go with him, but my Mother woke before she could take his hand...I think he didn't want to leave us so he wanted us to go with him.
My experience has been that dreams of deceased loved ones are to comfort those still alive. My Gran has visted my dreams twice that I can remember. The first time being the night she died. My mother has had several dreams involving both her parents. It helped us heal. I think that's at least one of the reasons for such dreams.
it happens to me a lot with my grandpa..specially if I am at the end of my rope.
yes this happened once with my grand father years after he had passed away, I could even smell him. what it means is that some one you loved whom passed through the Vail is trying to comfort or let you know every thing is alright.
I think that it is just their way of watching over their loved ones or even warning them of things to come.
yes I have seen my grandparents and even my brother they were warning me that I had to be careful and that it was not my time yet.. weird yet it was a good warning because the next day the person I was gonna ride to work with yet did not cause I was sick was killed in an accident
That is something I will not ever forget. it still chills me when even now talking about it. I feel they come to us for a reason we just do not always know the reason.
I never have, well I don't think so as I never remember my dreams
i have had this happen on a couple of different occasion what it means is sometimes unknown a lot of times i believe it is just that some one has come back reminding me they are still here with me
actually itz happened to meh a few timez itz alwayz been mah neice that passed away some yearz ago she tellz meh thingz shez even told meh that one of mah exs were cheating on meh and u wanna no wat she waz right shez the one that truely seez everything that goez on in mah life and she fer sure iz watchin over meh even if i think im alone shez there with meh
I don't have many dreams involving people that have passed away anymore. But for some strange reason I always have them when I really need them. It gives me positive thoughts when I need it most.
I dream of loved ones all the time. I know they are visiting me in my dreams. I believe that what we dream is different for us all. A nightmare could be a fear within you that expresses itself through your dreams.
Have any of you thought to have your dreams explained...?
if so, were they premonitions and did they come true.
Were they instructions? or just simple hello's ?
I haven't had one myself, since I haven't had anyone really close to me pass, but I definitely think that it would be the loved one trying to communicate......I'm just getting into all of the paranormal stuff, so I'm new to it....but I did have dreams before both my great grandmother and my uncle died, so I believe that those that have passed or are going to pass can communicate through one's dreams....
I've had a couple of dreams where I felt my mother's presence and communication. Was is it just a longing for her - wishful thinking? I would hope it was real.
my mom experienced this twice. one with my brother, to say good bye. and the other one was with my grandmother, to tell us to get away from my father before he hurts us more, and he was very brutal and abusive at that time.
Every so often my grandfather will visit, to comfort me or pass on a message. Timing on this thread is pretty coincidental, since I found it first thing when I logged in, after dreaming about him last night.
It's odd the way that things end up connecting on such odd coincidences, and how it happens so often in my life.
My mother came to me in a dream about 2 months after she passed on. The next week we had two earthquakes. I feel she was warning.
Yes. That happens to me all the time. What's really messed up the dreams I had about them dying before they really did die. I hate when that happens.
I have seen the dearly departed in my dreams. Mostly they come to say good bye or leave some kind of message. I also dreamt of my great aunt the night she died 4 years ago. I stayed the night with a friend and I had a dream that she had finally passed away (she was very ill). I called home and said she was gone. My grandmother confermed it for me.
my father just passed nov 9th and a few days later he came to me in a dream and i could feel him all round me and he also talked to me on my ouja board and told me good luck with my new job it kinda freaked me out alittle but that is how i could tell he really was my dad plus other things he said.
Within the first hour of my fathers' death he appeared to me in a dream, and he also appeared to my sister who lives miles away. I think he was telling us good bye and the he was okay. He still visits in my dreams.
i have had many experiences with this occurring in my opinion, its the otherside tring to tell you to let them move on. that they want to go into the light so to speak and we must let them go.
i have but i was way younger, so i vaguely remember it
i have had dreams that my loved ones are in . i wish i knew what it means though
I have not encountered a dream yet but I predicted my Grandmother's death which occured last July. The day She passed away...I felt empty and knew something was wrong, I just did not know Her death would be what was wrong. I have yet to have Her visit me in my dream and my Brother also.
I had a recurring dream of my grandmother after she died. She told me she was waiting for my grandfather to join her. In every dream she became younger. When my grandfather died I saw them together as a young couple, very happy. I have not had the dream since, but it was very comforting.
i have never had it happen but i think that it is possible
yes i have i have since i was 13 when my grand father passed away, i have almost every night though i have many but i do see him when i first go to sleep.
i just think its my key to life bout the only human i have ever loved , and i shall never let him go . so i think it our way of dealing but then again i do believe some times they do come to us.
I've drempt of dead loved ones, but only memories of them.
I think sometimes loved ones see the pain we are feeling and return for a short while to assure us they are ok. In dreams is the easiest place for us to see them, I mean if thye showed up at your front door, would ya listen or be scared half to death that they had returned form the dead.
they use dreams to communicate sometimes... i'm sure this is the way they have to be in contact with their family...
i dreams with my uncle once and he came and helped me to solve a problem we had... and it was so real, that when i woke up it was like... oh, he was here... and we sorted out the problem easily...
I actually have never had a dream with a loved one that once was alive. :/ I did however have a dream where I was with my entire family and we were celebrating something and waiting for my grandmother to show up... but she never did. My grandmother just recently passed on but whenever I happen to think about her... I have weird dreams, it's just that she never appears in them...
when my best friend died i dreamed he was there and i woke up and the alarm clock was unplugged
Dreams can also be a door way to higher intuition, a warning if one chooses to call it that. I have heard of many people who have been visited by loved ones as they slept regarding problems they were having that are resolved after the dreams. I believe there must be some truth to it, I have not experienced it but have had dreams of things to come on many occasions.
I take these dreams at 5O/5O point. I have such lucid dreams that its hard to tell a visit from a mental perseption. Not to mentin then fact that in some cases a stranger will use the guies of a loved one so they will not be feard.
I have had spirits that have passed appear to me, some of loved ones, some of those that have passed in places that I resided in. I have never had one give me warinings of things to come though.
i dream about my great grandma from time to time.
but it only means i miss her.
dreams are our subconscious
Well honestly no I have not gotten close to anyone who has died.... But I would imagine it would mean they are trying to speak with you in some way..
i have my brother passed and he came to me in this dream where he wanted me to find something it was some weird belt contraption and he did hang himself with a belt but the thing is he kept trying to tell me something about his mom as if she had something to do with his death and thats real weird because she was real mean to him and always said she wished he was dead and she was real messed up on meth now she used to miserable all the time a real mean person last time i called to talk to her she was speaking clearly and said she didnt have to work or worry anymore cause she got her dissability she was happy!happy? what a bitch and i think this dream was my brother trying to tell me she had something to do with it in my dream he was so lost and sad i still cant shake itut what can i do,ya know?
My grandfather has come to me several times in my dreams. I have come to expect him when I am faced with a big decision.
it's happened to me a few times -- i just wish i knew why .
I dream about my brother a lot.
As countless others have said, it just means I miss him.
Dreams are the subconscious.
I dreamed about my deceased father shortly after he passed.
I am unsure what it meant but it seemed very real.
Perhaps it is our mind showing us that person in order to allow them to go free?
I dream of others that have passed at times but have no real idea what it stands for in dream interpretation although I am sure there is a good answer.
