Looking through these forums and meeting so many people from different walks of life & paths of thought, I've yet to find mention of this here at The Rave.

While most modern vampires embrace what we are, there are those among us who do not. Two members of my Family and others that I have spoken with feel ashamed of being what they are, though they don't neccesarily try to hide it among the rest of us. It may come as a shock to some that being a vampire isn't all 'fun and games' (for lack of a better term), but its true. The lack of energy and the need to find a source/donor can be quite trying and can easily put a kink in your everyday life.

While I'm not ashamed of what I am, I don't really view it as a gift either. For me it is more of a welcome burden. I just wanted to put this out there for people to see and discuss.

What are your thoughts? Does anyone wish they didn't have to live with this?

Reality and fiction are very different this is a good example.

Since I know reality I wouldn't want to be one.

Well i must admit that there was a time i too was ashamed of what i was... theis was based on a lack of understanding though. when my first coven chose me then they showed me the vast wonders that come with such privladge. So i am now more acceptable of it now as apposed to then. Perhaps the just need someone to instill understanding, and allow them comfort for what they are

The reality of the Condition is the simple fact that they cannot go back to being normal. Do to their sense of morality all they can do is feel ashame. Yet here is the thing they need to think of.

Do they feel ashame to feed on animals? Because in no manner are we any different then an animal, other then the fact we have complex brains. If that is the only thing seperating us from all other animals, other then aposable thumbs, then thats pretty sad.

No matter what normal people are, I will use this word lightly, parasites, just like us. Normal people feed off the world, using the life energy given to them for nothing other then to squander it. They use it for no real purpose, which is why we have obesity. People fall stagnant to life and find no means to change their life. So with that, fall fat to the simple meanings of what life was at one point.

Yes there are those who cannot help but to be over weight, and that isn't their fault, even when trying to starve ones self it doesn't help.

As much as I sound Colous, I'm not. I just look at the simple fact we all feed on something to survive, we tend to be the next step in the food chain.

I'm not a vampire and to be honest i don't want to be one either but i know a lot of people who are vampires and they find it really hard to be open about who they are because people will not acsept them.
I do reliese that it is hard for vampires to try and act a normal life.

its not that its hard to act normal, its hard to try and keep healthy when your body is constantly having trouble with keeping Life energy within it.

Which could result in the ideal that we don't act normal.

As for being open to others. Its hard to do so without others judging someone upon their mental status. Yet, those who do accept us as we are usually tend to be those we can confine in. Yet only problem, some time those people will turn on you, so even then we aren't exactly safe to express ourselves.

Which ends up for us to use online means to get ahold of others and to show our selves to the world through the same means.

Thats the biggest problem i faced, i thought i was insane when dealing with the aceptance of what i am. I did take the help of other like myself to begin to fee comfortable in my own skin, there are still otheres that used to be good friends that have long since turned their back on me when i informed them, but screw em, as they were not true friends to begin with

How it usually happens. As for thinking you were insane, thats how it usually ends up starting out as. Once you awakening you realize what you are, yet don't. So you do what you can to try and deny it. Eventually some find the right way and learn what then need to in order to keep going. Where some end up believing themselves as Undead Gods which then causes problems.

I have never felt ashamed of what I am, though it did take a while to come to terms with the whole idea. It first started when the Father of my Family dropped a few hints and I wound up discussing real/modern vampirism for the first time later with the Mother of our Family (them being my best friends long before our Family came together). A year later I had studied and learned on my own and was ready to accept it.

Life is always something we are constantly learning. One can never deny the fact that we must constantly learn or end up falling behind in the world.

Learning about the condition and being taught new methods of dealing with it will only end up helping us more and more.

So with that, that is why some houses open. In order to help push along their methods of dealing with the condition.

Well most houses are like the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn. Most of their teachings stay secret and do not go beyound the members. Yet like Isrealie Regardie, these teachings can be offered to the general populace in order to save the teachings of the past and for a new generation to pick up on them and expand.

Yes well vampyre hunters do exist. Infact while home on Leave in Cali, I was at a local book store, and came across, in the New Age section mind you, a book written by a monk of St. george... I believe. Well either way it was a book in mentioning on how to hunt us down. Not most of it was BS, as in it was on mythical vampirism, yet some of it did reflect that in which is real.

So we must be wise to who we actually meet in real life in regards to the condition.

So I would suggest excersicing extrem caution when meeting people that you met online.

I have always revelled in what I am and what I do to survive I have no shame or guilt in what Ive done in the past though Im not proud either

wether this be a gift a curse or what have you call it

its who we are so no shame should be there we at one time in life were a proud race and others feared what we were simply because of the day and culture the people of today explain us as devil worshipping satanist because they dont want to understand us nor truly know who we are they want a quick get out of jail free card instead of truly getting to know our culture

I do not view this as a burden or a gift...I simply except that it is what it is and something I must deal with everyday. I personally do not find it hard to find a donor. My lovers are often very willing to let me feed both of blood and of pure energy....I am not ashamed of what I am, I am proud of it. Proud to be different.

This is only my opinion, but....

I do not believe it to be an inconvenience to 'need donors' nor do I believe that 'lacking energy' is a form of suffering for the kind of being you speak of.

To be ashamed of what you are and what you must do denotes of certain distrust in one's self. If your body requires the energy of others, you must take it. But I think the real question you should be asking is why would someone feel guilty for answering to a need that ALL beings have?

After finally realizing what I am after my 21st birthday I thought it would be great to be a vampire but sadly its not. It's very hard to let close loved ones know about me being one and finding a donor for sexual energy alone isn't easy trust me. So I have to take regular energy from others around me to sustain (sp?) myself since I dont drink blood. so its kinda of a burden for me but I have learned to deal with it.

I have talked with many who did not want "The Gift", I have talked with many who have wanted more than just their share of it. And then, I have talked to those who love and hate what they are.

I will not speak for them, but I will for me.

Yes, sometimes I wish I could stop being what I am. I wish I could never have been this and I have my days of feeling like I'm worthless as this and a parasite on the side of a community who suffers enough amidst themselves.

But everytime I go outside, I feel the wind, I scent perfume, I lift heavy objects, I listen intently and look at detailed artwork. I appreciate that these abilities that are much more than others, allow me to appreciate more what humans have made for me to enjoy.

Remember, you are vamp, lupine, human, skeptic, normal, psychic and the rest of it for a reason. ( If you put faith into karma/reincarnation ) Through all of it learn a lesson, your purpose and path.
So, kindly, learn what you are about and do not feel sorry for yourself. That's what everyone else is doing, so be different.

Interesting point Evengius and one I can't argue with for the most part.

I have met any number of psi vamps who are able to excercise a tremendous control over their abilities, to the point that they can go through life just fine without having to feed in order to be healthy and functional.

Most of them do still take energy from others, but for the most part it is a thing done rarely and always with a willing donor.

They don't seem to suffer from a lack of energy, failing health or other things that most psi will say they feel when they do not feed regularly, but from what I have seen they are every bit the same as all the other psi's out there. They have just learned to master their talent and use it only when they wish.

In fact I know some psi with great skill in that area who have gone as long as 15 years between feedings with no ill effects.

Granted they can draw a bit of energy from the environment around them, plants, animals, doing the whole spread feeds taking a little from each person in a crowded place and so on, but to actually feed one on one with another person as most seem to feel they need to do often, is something they simply do not require.

So I would have to say you are right to the point that at least in some cases it may very well be a choice and not a condition.

Another factor to concider is that most who do any form of energy work...magical practicioners of various types, healers and so on, work with energies on a frequent basis, drawing on the forces and forms of energy around them to achive a specific outcome and they do not find themselves (at least in most cases) requiring that intake of energy in order to remain healthy and functional in their daily life.

Would some then concider them to be psi vamps simply because the ability to strengthen themselves through energies other then their own?

If we think about it all life feeds on life. Whether or not it is psychic energy that is being absorbed or not the energy is coming from somewhere.

We eat meat from animals, plants which are living things as well. All in all life is predatory. when we get into the psi vampirism thing there are those that have the ability to feed on life energy (with the use of a number of different terms depending on the style) from beings similar to themselves.

Now personally I feel that a majority could do this if they wanted to, understood how, and trained a bit. However I feel those that wanted to feed on different sources could do so just as easily. Instead of physically digesting food though they need to do that too they could just as well feed off the life forms of plant life, or animals.

Of all the energy that is in abundance in the universe I find it hard to believe that the only thing that can sustain these types is that of human energy. I just think some of them are very addicted and see no other easier way to get that feed.

Just my opinion however, I am sure many others might disagree.

Well speaking as a psi, and only from my own personal experience of course, I don't need to take in energy to survive in life. I eat meat, vegetables and all other sorts of food and get by on that just fine like any other person on the planet. I can and do take energy if I am actually feeling that drained and out of sorts that I feel I could use the extra "boost" so to speak, but I can get that energy just as well from the trees in the court yard of my apartment complex as I could from the person down the block or whatever.

As you said enegry is energy and it is all around us. To say that the only energy out there that can sustain you is human life force, sexual energy and so on just isn't true from my experience.

That isn't to say that I don't occationally enjoy a one on one human energy feed. I just don't need it to get through my life when there are other options that work just as well.

Feeling low on energy, drained weak and miserable? Have a steak. Grab a slice of coffee cake. It works. Trust me lol.

Personally I figure there are more nutritious sources you can pull from. I am very elitist anyway and ripping it out of some being just seems less than what I should be getting from more pure sources that are in abundance.

It would depend upon the view of reality over everything else. If one was a vampire, there is at least one time in there span of life that they will regret becoming what they are for some reason or another. Weather it be over somebody they killed or simply because they actually sat down a thought about it.

I don't think psychic energy is something someone has to have to survive. So I don't see where the problem is. Forget about their gift if they don't want it. They got along OK before they learned how to use it, didn't they?

For the most part, I have not been reading this thread, but one or two comments caught my eye.

Evangius,

I understand what you are saying regards to flows from other living (and even 'elemental' forces), but, and crucially, I have found that there is a distinctly different 'resonance' if you will, from trees and such other plant life, that while readily available, is not easily incorporated into my system.

Taking from a person seems to be a much more direct line into the flow and considerably easier to harmonise with my own being.

The alternative / evolution from this is ambient absorbtion, which seems to flood me and through sheer 'weight' of content, brings me to a state where, admittedly it goes far beyond neccessity and into additional reserve.

However, once that river is out of presence, my system empties rather rapidly and I am left back in this state I am in whilst I type. I would have to say that there is nothing quite like a person to share with, as that is another problem with environmental energies- there is little concious process for it to take back and refine what is taken from it, which is kind of like scraping the bottle of the barrel, imo.

Another reason I kept out of this is because this is a very personal issue for me. For many reasons which I will never go into. But...

Elyria,

You mentined that energies are all around us continually, but, I have to disagree when you say that other forms of energy are able to sustain one as well as that from a person.

As with my post to Evangius, I feel that there is a subtle, but distinct, difference between those and it's hardly worth expending the time effort and energy to take what is essentially a gruel from of energy in, imo.

A deep feed from another person keeps me up for days, which nothing else can. Not drugs, not rest, not exercise. So, I have only one conclusion from that- it is a neccesity to take from a person to maintain any semblance of normal physical and psychic functionality.

All energy can be broken down to different forms with subtle patterned changes in it. More or less the more pure the source can in essense be what has created us all.

Thus by going to a more pure level you shouldn't have to settle for sick, tainted, and used human energies. I figure Psi vamps who are naturally skilled at energy harmonics and usage shouldn't have any trouble finding better sources.

Ah... I missed out a vital piece of information in my post, my apologies.

I have only ever shared energy with a psy-vampyre. The only time I have 'taken' from people at large is in heightened group conciousness states, such as dancing at the club with 500 others- which is far removed from what is like... golden syrup with sparkles... er, as close as I can describe...LOL

And does closer to the earth mean closer to the universal flow? I don't know if that is the case. The human mind has a pretty awesome connection. I can't seen why elemental forces have any more or less content or purity, only a different pattern, which, in its unrecognised 'taste', will be harder to understand and break down... My meaning is a little blurred her, but I hope you get the gist of it.

Science in itself I feel will one day create a more superior form of food. If we wanted even at this time we could probably exist on nutrients in liquid form that would supply all the essential nutrients and vitamins that we need to survive on.

This is done by breaking the food down to it's basic makeup and discarding the rest. Why would it not be possible for highly evolved Psi vamp to do the same thing in regards to energy?

Think about it, people eat physical food which is then broken down into life force which sustains us and keeps us in the living. Why wouldn't it be possible to discard the poorly broken down energic nutrients and just do it themselves in a more pure form?

I mean to me it seems that you are adding a step that isn't at all needed and from that you garner to yourself a more poor form of nourishment than you could collect yourself in various other ways.

Because it takes energy expenditure to reach out and manipulate those flows and there is no concious will at the other end helping to direct and enrich the flow. For those of us existing at a subsistance level, it simply isn't economical, for want of a better word.

What you are propsing in scientific terms is perfectly reasonable, but, how much effort is required to produce such food? It would require expensive machines and a lot of man hours to do so.

"Because it takes energy expenditure to reach out and manipulate those flows and there is no concious will at the other end helping to direct and enrich the flow. "

Enrich the flow with what emotions? Emotions are just flavors of energy and not the source of sustenance themselves.

You take nourishment from it you don't have to have a connection. When I pop a burger in my mouth I am not looking for a conversation of a deep level of connection with it. I stick it in my mouth I chew I swallow, the end.

When you pick fruit off the tree and eat it again, you chew you swallow, the end. No connection needed.

When you reach out to take life force from another individual if they are fighting you that is going to cause energy exenditure. If they aren't of a compatible energy that is going to take more energy expenditure. If they are walking balls of chaotic energy, you are going to have to exude more energy to tone it down. I mean I am sorry but the argument you have towards this being less energy than just finding a more pure source isn't one I can agree with.

"What you are propsing in scientific terms is perfectly reasonable, but, how much effort is required to produce such food? It would require expensive machines and a lot of man hours to do so."

Depends on how you do it I guess. I mean some folks can eat just plants and get all the nutrients they need, they don't even need meat. Let us look at the energy expenditure for that shall we?

The time and energy expenditure to catch, kill, and cook the meat, compared to picking plants. Before you get into the aspect of growing the plants, we need to remember that the animals feed off of those same plants too so that discrepency is more of less a moot point.

As I said and I strongly continue to feel, that Psi vampirism is a choice, not a condition.

Whoa!

Hold on a moment there please, before you continue to place any more words into my mouth and then proceed to criticise them.

You seem to be missing my point entirely here. Partly my fault, it is now 5.40am my time, so i'm not as sharp as I might be at other times, but, I will give it another go before I head to bed.

When I talk about 'enriching', I do so with the reference that I share with another psy-vampyre, who is equally or more capable of manipulating the flow.

With this in mind, it is a benefit is one or both is capable of taking in energy from the other, running it through their own system to cleanse impurities and then sending it back, as a sort of filtering or refining process.

The resulting product of this process is a far more potent feed than would ever become possible from a 'natural' source. Considerably more so if the two can slosh it back and forth, increasing the...density(? i realise mass has little meaning here, but, for lack of voabulary when I'm this tired...) at an almost exponential rate.

And again, I would say that I don't have the energy to spare in putting the effort into gathering from a pretty fuzzy source, such as a tree. It still takes an extension of a tendril and focus to find and connect, then the drawing back is precarious without deep concentration. An example I could use is a cheetah on the plains hunting. If it catches nothing for a while, it has fewer and fewer oppotunities to attempt to do so, eventually, it will run out of energy needed to reach top speed and ends up feeding on carrion, which is barely nutritional and does still take effort to find and eat.

With the second part, I was attempting to illustrate that every manner of producing and eating food takes some measure of energetic expense, so, what happens when the expense is more than the reward?

I am not a vampire and do not feed from anyone/thing, but I do work and play with energy on a regular basis. From my personal experiance I have to say that human energy can be lots of fun to play with because as you play with it you can change it and influence the person you are playing with. But when when I am working with energy trying to accomplish anything (healing, magick, etc.) it is the pure universal energy that I use. It is like taking pure chemicals and combining them to make what you want. As in chemistry if you use tainted chemicals you never know quite what you will get, if I used "tainted" energy anything could happen.

The problem I have with that is if you are continually going back and forth on the same stream of energy I feel it ends up lessening the potency not enhancing it. Kind of like in a very crude aspect going back and forth and reconsuming food that you have already eaten.

The spiritual core automatically takes the nutrients it needs and then either stores is disposes of the rest in waste or leaking energy (we could get into auras on this aspect).

redirecting it back and forth mines the sustanence in a way that I definately do not see the benefit in that and honest I have to admit to seeing that as a high expenditure of energy for very little if any gain.

Interesting thoughts though and I am off to work. If you reply I will have to get to that in the morning.

Ok, the way I see the sharing, is with an increasingly complex form with each cycle of passing from one to the other.

It's much like the process of two suns coming together- they would collapse and form a super-heavy star which will eventually supernova.
(not every time, mind you, but I'm sure that you get the idea...)

I see what you say in that the body will naturally absorb into itself what it needs, but, getting enough to fill the void may be the problem. Somehow, it takes that explosion to really sort me out.

I am not a vampire, nor do I desire to be one. However, I take and refine energy on a daily basis for ritual work and mere practice. While Taking energy from nature (trees, animals, the sun, etc.) can be enough, the life force in an active human being is generally much better quality. I take heavy feeds from a donor for more extreme energy work, but I don't see any moral problems in taking an ambient feed in a crowded area.

Vampirism is a gift and a curse, depending on how it is viewed. A vampire is separated from the universal energy source for one reason or another, giving them a need for another source of energy. However, since they practice some sort of energy work on a daily basis from birth, they have a natural gift for it. One could look at it either way.

To danzig1330, just because they didn't consciously practice vampirism before they awakened doesn't mean they don't need to. An awakening is a coming to awareness of their abilities. Prior to awakening, they probably fed unconsciously, which can be dangerous.

To Sin, thank God for people like Israel Regardie and Michelle Belanger for making resources more available to the public. These are important steps toward public acceptance of reality. Public misconception has led to many horrible things throughout history.

Vampires, never be ashamed of what you are. Those who misunderstand you are the ones who should be ashamed, for they are ignorant to reality. I know a few of these people and I'd hate to be them. I can only say good luck to you all.

i think that many dont truly understand what it is to be a vampyre. they think of only the sexual and power aspect of it and mis that its a condition that one must not only suffer from, but wouldnt mind having things easy for once. its a alot of hard work, alot of strength to contain the monster within us from taking over completely...its not fun and games nor is it something i would wish on anyone..

Sorry to disappoint, but vampires are not immortal or higher than 'normal' people. They have a condition that extends beyond their physical body that defines what they are. Unless you mean the immortal soul, which everyone has, you need to read up on what exactly vampires are.

I am not ashamed of what i am...and no one else should be either! In saying that though, some people are ashamed of being a "Vampire" mostly because of the negative feedback they get thanks to media(news ) or how hollywood casts them as the evil bad guy etc...

I say why be ashamed when the media or hollywood has not half a clue as to what real vampires or real vampirism is all about .....Some of us may not embrace it fully, but if you are one you got a lifetime to live with it so why not just accept it and live with it ..The Vampires of today that do exsist will do like humans do just we feed a bit differently not just on food like humans but also some on blood .some on energy and others on both :) It is all a matter of preference to each vamp what they feed off of and the method they do it !

thekt31, vampires are not immortal; they don't live forever. They live just as long as everyone else, maybe a bit longer due to better-maintained energy on the average. The condition is nothing to wish upon yourself.

My opinion is still the same. I don't want to be a vampire. Merely haveing some of the skills is enough for me.

I hide what I am from most people, for a couple of reasons. Not that I am ashamed but One, I love dab smack on the bible belt, (lol) and two, my parents would not accept it nor condone it... Now I realize that I am a grown woman, but sometimes things are better left unsaid so that you dont have to hear moaning and groaning for the rest of this lifetime. LOL. I had just wrather keep it from them than to hear about it forever. lol.

I suppose its hard for people to accept different things, and to be different in themselves. I hope people can understand that they are in a safe environment where they can be accepted here.

I am not a vampire, however I do feel that you should be able to freely express who you are without hesitation.

No one should be ashamed of who they are.

Hell, I'd give anything to be an actual vampire.

I wouldn't say I don't like being one, I have accepted it, it is who I am. But it is hard to relate to others as a result. I find that poeple who say they are "vampires" don't actually know what that entails. Most of them just find it as a sort of attraction, they romanticize it. But what they don't realize is, it is a bit of a lonely life. To me, there is really nothing romantic about it.

I am begining to understand what I am. I accept what I am and am trying to understand it to the fullest extent that I can. I also understand the hardship that is a big part of my existance, I too have lost what I considered to be close friends, but fortunatly I have gained greater trust in those who did not turn away. I would not change what I am.

I am not a vampire but my husband is. He accepts who he is to a degree but has a hard time controlling himself at times. These are the times I step in and seriously try to help. I love him for who and what he is as a whole and when he told me he was a vampire...he thought I would be freaked but my response to him was....I know...he did not know how to take that. But I knew him online before in real life. And as we got to know each other there were just certain things about him via cam that showed his nature. When looking into his eyes at times I fealt I could not look away...I was mesmerized by them. Now I do so at times on my own knowing what he needs. He is my soulmate. The one I thought could never exist from my childhood dreams. I myself...would embrace being a vampire. I can not trully say I know what it is like for those of you who are a vampire because I am not. I can only go by my husband and what I see through him.

it may be that vampirism is like many, many other traits. Most people out there are ashamed of something they have, are, or do.

I feel that it is a gift for this makes me different in my school someone others will fear. I feel as if sometimes it can be somewhat a burden but other than that it is quiet welcome in my arms i embrace it. For I belive it is a intersting lifestyle and a life I feel that I can live for the rest of my life. Born vampire psy and sang alike a gift and blessed be. *bows*

I think of being a Vamprye as a birth right you're either born into it or not, wheiter you view it as a gift or curse you have it. I view mine as a gift because I have found ways of using it to help others. There are certain things I can use the gift for that normal people can not, when it comes to healing.

I am not looking at this as a burden or a gift. It is something I did not know what was coming to me. I was taken with out being told, I was being taken. But I do have to say if I knew what was going to happen to me that night, I would not have welcomed him into my room that night. I am not ashamed of the gift he gave me, I'm just not use to it yet.

ALthough I do get bored of all the trivial questions people generaly ask

I can easily see why someone would not want this and even consider it to be a curse.....I mean, if I actually sit and think about it, it is more of a problem than a gift....I already hate the world as it is, and would now have to live forever in it...I would never be able to find anyone that is going to be around mortally long enough to amuse me, and there are hassles with feeding and such...I guess it just depends....I personally find it to be an escape from reality and therefore is a gift to me.....But that is only my personal opinion...

to say that being a vampire is to have a curse on yourself would be to say that your life is a curse or that if it is a gift that would be to say that your life is a gift a vampire is what you are, some may be able to change that but the true once can't and i think that you shouldn't look at it as a curse of blessing just look at it as life and accept it for what it is don't ever judge it based on what others lives are like
