So has anyone here witnessed an animal using a supernatural ability? We all anthropomorphize our pets, but has anyone ever seen a cat move something telekenetically; or talk to you telepathically; anything of that sort.
How about energy manipulation?
some animals are empathetic and have the power to control emotions. im curious to see i theres more to it maybe.
The closest thing that I can relate to this is my last dog. We were connected at such a level that he knew what I was thinking and would do whatever I wanted him to do without me having to say a word. This was awesome. In many ways I believe that he was my familiar. I could let him outside in the morning while I was getting ready and as soon as I was done he and I would meet at the door almost simultaneously so that I could let him in.
I have heard stories of many pets being attached to their owners like this and this seems as though it is a form of telepathic connection.
it is well documented that animals have a heightened sense of awareness on many levels, and I for one have had cats that certainly seemed to me to be more attentive when I was upset or angry-getting closer to me, paying more attention to me, etc.
I have also lived in California, where animals were ALWAYS sounding off right before an earthquake, and the sea gulls in Florida were the quickest way to figure out if a storm was heading our way in Tallahassee...
The house I lived in outside of Tallahassee was 85 years old, and while I knew it was haunted, having noticed certain things on my own, it was quite unsettling to see my cat Chelsea "play" with something or someone that wasn't there, as if batting at a hand just out of reach, as she often did with me...
Animals lack the distractions that we as humans have to endure on a daily basis, and I therefore believe that they can sense things that we tend to ignore in general...
An old cat of ours would sometimes speak to my mother telepathically.
I believe that animals have SOME senses / abilities that we humans do not posses. I find it so amazing that during the course of a day 40 people may walk by our front door. All of them pass by with NO reaction from the dog. (Except, of course, the letter carrier wh gets barked at!) Yet if one of our family or one of my daughter's boyfriends is coming toward the house, the dog is at the door jumping way before the approching person's feet hit the sidewalk.
I can't explain it, but I see it every day.
Other than the fact that I can carry on an intelligent conversation with my cat, I've never seen this manifested. However, I suppose if people can have unusual abilities so can other animals.
i think animals are amazing at times. I saw a tv show about animals that could "smell" sickness in others. That they could sniff out cancer in particular. Then there are the dogs that warn when a person is going to have a seizure. WE can't tell that.....but some animals can.
I think we dont give them enough credit for being sentient beings.
I have seen my dogs sit and wag their tails, cocking their heads, looking up to the corner of the living room.
When I have a MS attack, before I do i should say...they are right near me...one sleeping touching me at all times.
I believe dogs have more than a different set of senses but a perception that can't be measured or discovered
They use their five senses to their full potential, this gets confused with having a "6th sense"
They smell things we cant, they see things we cant, they feel and taste what we cant, therefore a mind that jumps to conclusions cries "supernatural ability!"
no, they are just better adapted to sense things we cannot.
one night my 2 Belgian shepards were sending me images... i could feel what they were trying to say... there was some one in the back yard... i went to check and my dogs had a guy bailed up i the back corner...
Animals are much more open to supernatural activity because they ame more connectet to nature on a basic level. I have seen animals sence pending foul weather and also telepath communication.
ha people laugh at me and think iam crazy but yeah ..... my cat pooter does when her food dish is empty i always see a picture of an empty food dish in my head..........and she always knows when iam gonna do any of my ritual stuff cause she waits on my altar for me......
i think on many occasions animals see things we cant see. especially referring to the spirit world. i think animals can see some spirits we cant
The last couple of days, I have been going through some rough times. My dog refuses to leave my side. She is also sullen and less playful. I believe that animals have telepathic and empathic abilities.
My dog comunicates with me. She looks at me and sometimes I know what she wants or needs. My cat is a little harder to read.
Over the years, I have watched my different cats perk up, move their head to some place in a room and actually track with their head and eyes as if they are watching something unseen by humans move about the room.
Many animals do exhibit heightened awareness for earthquakes as well. Many times my horses, cats and dogs have been anxious and nervous and not acting like themselves hours before a decent sized earthquake.
China has succesfully used animals to warn of earth quakes.
With a few of my pets, they have been able to tell exactally how I was feeling. My old dog Fawn could tell when I was depressed and she would almost force herself on me just to make me feel better. She could always tell before I was going to be sick too.
The rat I have now is also really good with perceiving that sort of stuff. But there have been dogs that could sniff out tumors and stuff like that, or the ones that saved peoples lives.
i'm not CERTAIN that it's not a rational event, but when the animals get nervous, it has a MAJOR effect on me... even when i just suddenly feel like something is stalking me, sometimes i'll look around and see a little predator/prey action happening.. even if i didn't notice it beforehand..
D
I've had my cat talk to me telepathically. He kinda sat in front of my staring at me and I heard a voice that said, "Can we have tuna tonight?" My cat loves tuna and I hadn't given it to him in a while.
I believe that all animals have a sence to tell how we are feeling or if something is going to happen ....cats and dogs both use this type of sence... specaily when they are trying to comfort or cheer you up
I must restate, all of this may be true, but why must one look towards the supernatural? because it is more exciting in a boring world?
I don't get that kind of thinking, "it must be paranormal, cause i don't understand it"
Animals with supernatural gifts? define superntural?...by humans standards I guess, it would be consider paranormal or supernatural. But if so many animals have these abilites then it sounds more Natural then not.
Just becauae animals do not have the same limitations of humans do not make them otherworldly..It makes them not completely understood but their human counterparts...Just MY Opinion.
Im not sure about super natural abilities but ny dog id weird sometimes
I do believe that animals have special abilities as well as humans do and they just have to figure them out.
my cat always communicates by sending mental messages and tells me what he wants..lots of the time Im glad he cant verbally speak to me..He already is such a jabberjaw..lol
For the people who believe that animals have only natural abilities: Do you believe that the human soul is the source of supernatural abilities?
For those who have experienced a supernatural phenominon in an animal: do you believe that animals have an immortal soul?
I would think that animals have as much of a soul as us. there are many cases where animals can sense when there owners are about to have a seizure. there are even cases where dogs can smell cancer on a person is this supernatuarl? or do they just have a realy keen sense of awearness.
I havent seen my dog do anything like that but I do think he knows what Im talking about. I say turn around and he does, I say shut the door and he does... loads of stuff but we havent ever trained him to do any of those things! Maybe its just me lol
I have noticed that there are some animals that pretty much can tell when someone is feeling down. I had a dog once that knew when I was unhappy or upset and he would sit next to me and love me until I was happy again. At least he tried anyway. I did not teach him how to have feelings or emotion, it is somethig he picked up on.
I agree with demonschild66669. A lot of things that an animal can do naturally looks supernatural to us because normally we can't do it.
Its true that animals have more sensitive abilities that make them react differently or earlier than we expect
Yeah, I am pretty much hearing the same thing over and over again... maybe I should do this as a pole.
Damnit, Sorry guys, that was not a typo; it is a pun from a house thread.
My dad's dog know that he is coming home before his car (or motorcycle for that matter) even turns into the housing community that he lives at (about 3/4 miles).
I doubt it is supernatural but rather a natural thing for animals to do things such as be able to communicate with us w might alwys understand what they are trying to tell us let us know..Yes I have animorphed my cats I tend to talk to them and have one very vocal cat named Bomber who will sit and seemingly talk back to me..
I saw on animal planet a cancer sniffing dog animals senses are stronger then ours in many ways.
I wouldnt necessarily use the word "supernatural", but indeed they are quite empathic, have a heightened sense of awareness..and are way better judges of character than humans :P
Oh..and the only type of energy manipulation I have witnessed personally, is when my cat's food bowl is empty she pesters me constantly..thereby manipulating my lazy butt to get up and fill it for her hehe
My cat seems to know when I am upset... she just behaves differently.
I read in a book that if you think in regards to a cat "look at me" that within five seconds they will. I have two cats and experiemented with this, and it does often work, but not as often as is claimed.
it depends on what you consider Supernatural Abilities. Just like humans, animals can sense changes in a person. I'm not sure if that is a Supernatural Ability.
I see animals as having personalities of their own. Some are more perceptive than others but so are some people more pereceptive....*shrugs*
I haven't seen any supernatural abilities in any animals that I've worked with. What I have seen (as others have mentioned) is a lot of empathic abilities. I think animals are very keen on picking up on things like body language and slight changes in voice patterns.
I wont go so far as to say supernatural, but my three cats definately know when I am sick, upset or angry.
my cat seems to be able to calm me down when I am scared and or angry. She is able to just curl up with me not even have me pet her or something like that. She also has the ability to wake me when its time for me to get up.. seems like no matter what time I set the alarm for she will wake me 5 min befor it goes off.
I personally have not.... But im sure animals can be empathic the same as a human.
I'd say that all animals are empathic and that cats especially display a stong tendency toward telepathic powers. Mine are often aware of what I'm thinking even before I am.
Also, they say that animals are aware of approaching natural disasters. Mass disappearances of domestic animals have been recording in the weeks leading up to earthquakes in Japan as well as in other places.
my dog seems to know when I am upset...and he trys to make me laugh.
I was told that squirrels can read peoples minds. From what I have been told.
Hah, that may be the most interesting thing posted in this thread... why are squirrels suposed to be able to read peoples minds? Anybody else hear of this?
i think animals seem to have a better grasp on empathy than humans.
I have a hunting partner named Lestat he is a large white wolf hyprid . He is very vocal with me and we spend a lot of time together working and hunting . My point is he always knows what to do and when to do it he will turn animals into a different position if I do not have a clear shot without me saying anything at all . He also seems to know when I need help and is always at my side when need be.
Never heard of animals having special abilities other than a kind of empathy...the ability to make the owner of the animal feel better..a comforting thing nothing more. If anyone has I'd be interested in hearing what special abilities some animals may have.
I feel like this ...do children not get a bond with parent's? Well pet's do the same if they been raised as part of family indeed they feel what u feeling and know when you sad etc....My gram's cat woke her out of a sleep pouncing on her chest to wake her up from the house on fire ....I believe they have telepathic ability's to the upmost!
idk about supernatural but I had to break up a dog fight and with no one to help me. had to hold back a pit bull and push back a shepherd mutt, then I noticed the older german shepherd had actully held the loose mutt back while I held the pit bull may not be supernatural but the german shepherd helped me out so much it was just very intelligent of him when he ha no previos training at all
When I was a teen I had this dog who sinced I was in trouble once and got my parents to help me. I don't know if that applies here.
i think animals are empathic and they see way more than we will ever see....
they have a sort of 6th sense about them....
i have heard of dogs going really hyper and wild just before a earthquake.....
Animals are more "Grounded" to the natural elements that surround us, they have no wants and needs that cloud their minds so they are very much more in tune to the elements. Animals can form a connection with humans based on emotional output, an energy that we really do not have "Complete" control over.
Their ability to sense natural disasters before they happen is proof of their highly developed senses, of their oneness with the natural elements around them and their ability to feel a distinct shif in an energy field, including a human energy field.
