Hey Co-Coven members...
I have a question for you...
What does it mean to have someone drop off and leave a "voodoo" doll in your place.
I know somone who has recently discovered this voodoo doll within their apt. No obvious signs of anything else, just this doll.
What are your feelings on this? Is it something that ppl should be freaked out about?
well there can be 2 things with that... either someone accidently dropped it ..... or someone is after that person.. yes id be worried and id go get a protection spell or something... what did the doll look like do you know
thanks for the pic.. does this person live in a apartment or house ? does he she live alone how old is he she
I know you have called out for folks from your coven but Sis.. This got my eye.
If this Doll was placed on purpose it could be FOR the person living there..
I have included an info site for you.
http://www.calastrology.com/voodoo.html.
"voodoo" means Spirit of God.. it could be a blessing or something not so nice.
I hope that site helps, but it did seem very informative.
You're very welcome. Hope all goes well.
xx
there are many sites for this... but befor she worries for maybe nothing maybe have her get protected maybe its nothing since a apt, maybe someone did drop it or iots really nothing and someone is just tring to scear her is this doll made of anything of hers or thats in herhouse is this lady argueing with any one
I think it would depend on the befief system your friend has.
It would not bother me in the slightest if someone planted a voodoo doll in my place.......just one more thing to dust lol
Voodoo, like other magic, is an art of will, not just ability. If they have a strong will and belief that this person cannot harm them, they will not be harmed. The Gods of Vodun don't help the weak harm the strong, not unless it is deserved.
there are also places that she can take the doll to and ask them what type it is and so have you they will help the situation out there voodoo practioners i think im not forsure but i seen this online not to long ago
well it depends on the doll does it have something of hers on it? like hair clothing jewlry
or anything of hers if not then i would say don't do anything cause that might be ment to harm another. Take it to someone who can remove the charm against it and then have it destroyed. Those dolls should never be created for they are ment to harm. Rarely are they used for good
My understanding of the voodoo doll is that not only does it need to have something personal from it's victim, but it also needs to be introduced to it's victim as well. The person that is was intended to affect must interact, come into contact with, or at the least see it. This step is done though after the personal item is attached. Why it was found where it was can only be answered by the person responsable for it being there.
well I know you have to believe in Voodoo or Hoodoo for it to actually have an impact on you.
someone dropping this doll off may be trying to cause the person to worry which can actually cause harm to their self, by worring over it.
If they do believe then they should get a protection spell for themselves so that it can not harm them.
Yet again it is as any Religion or Belief you have to actually believe in it for it to take affect. Maybe they should read up on all the info there is out there before even worring about it cause it can also be a good thing as well as a bad thing.
Voodoo dolls, or poppets, are used in sympathetic magic. They are a resprentation of someone in micro form. What one does to the doll is expected to reflect upon the person in kind.
This could be someone just trying to put a head trip on someone else and scare them. Or it could be an attempt at some sort of spell. There are some using leaving a poppet in another's house that would then leave the hosue open to the person who left it because the doll represents themself (the caster). There is part of them already in the house, thus they will always be able to get back in. It ould be alot of things. The best thing is to think about who was around and could have left it, and then ask!
i would think if it was a real voodou doll from an authentic practitioner that it would mean a sign of a curse or a binding of some sort and he would jsut have to deal with the fate that has been handed down to him regardless
what you have is hoodoo, not voodoo. of course if the doll has pins stuck in it your friend has managed to make someone really mad. a voodooine(?) could help. major gris-gris.

Hmmm.. could it just be someone being a jackass and trying to scare her, but really has not clue how to actually use the doll?

Wow! Your friend needs to deass the apartment PDQ. You should contact the local parish priest to come over to bless the apartment ans the entire building. Next, your friend should obtain large quantities of borax, which should be spread around the apartment. In addition the hallways outside the aprtment as well as the stairwells should be treated accordingly. Last but not least the borax should be spread around the apartment building.
If it was left at my door it would just be another doll or stuffed animal added to my collection i already have. I wouldnt worry about it because nothing can happen to your friend unless he/she "believes & gives" the doll power to be destructive or harmful.
Actually i wouldnt mind having one at my doorstep only because it could be something to show people..... Nice one about the borax LordFangor. Interesting concept youve got going there.
It could either be sumone playing a dumbass joke..which isnt funny cause i have learned that this isnt sumthin to take lightly...and it depends whethere the person has full belief in it or not
well Voodoo is the form of religion.. and Hoodoo is the magic aspect of Voodoo..I dont know the resoning behind leaving a doll at your door .. especially if the intent is doing some damage may just be a scare tactic
well I do not think someone would give up their Voodoo/ Hoodoo doll unless they are just trying to scare or intimidate the person, just my opinion.
I think that I would definetly be concerned. Unless it accidentally dropped ( which would be wierd) . I would get a protection spell.
Ignore the doll get rid of it the doll is powerless unless you believe in it. Someone is trying to scare them the best way to deal with it is get rid of it.
yes Hoodoo normally does only work if the person believes .. the the power of persuasion can be a powerful thing.. All they would need is a hint that you beilieve, and there spells normally work.. So ask yourelf do you believe or would / ( did ) this action make you believe.. ?
If this has no meaning to you I dont think you would have opened a thread of this nature , so there must be a slight belief..
I am wondering why you say its a voodoo doll.. otehr forms of magic use poppets and offten for good reasons.. is it possible the doll was left as a good thing and not a bad? I know I use them in calming spells and healing spells. Amoung others. So there are nice reasons it could have been left behind. I am not suggesting that you assume it was a good reason but just want to point out that it may not be evil intent.
Well I don’t know what evil you can do leaving the doll behind?
The person making the curse needs the doll to have the victims personal dna like hair n so forth. It also needs to be worked on …. Leaving it behind lol
Now that’s funny
I heard if you burn sage from room to room and wash the walls with sea-salt water you can purify the apartment...as for specific protection spells there are plenty you can find online..
your friend shouldnt be to worried people make voodoo dolls for various reason one because they hate them and two because they are in love with them so its pretty much up in the air. Just remeber there is a fine line between love and hate
I was once given a vodoo doll it was a gift to me a protection not something to be feared
Yes this is possible that this was left as a protection rather then evil, and that is why I posted this thread to hear what you all felt. The doll doesn't look like a 'voodoo' doll..the more I look at it, it looks like cloth that was tied in the shape of a person, so I don't know what it is...all I know is that it was left by someone that shouldn't have been there, and that is what's equally disturbing.
I know that if someone left a voodoo doll at my place i'd be freaked....but in general, i dont mind them...great way for revenge...lol...
Did this doll have anything on or in it and what color was it? Did it resemble man or woman and what was it made from?
The only reason i'm irritated in this thread is because everyone has to get so bloody damned technical......Everything about this..stems from Vodunism there...
Hoodoo, Voodoo, poppets, dolls, curses. All stems from Vodunism, which started in Africa about lets say at least 3 thousand years ago. We don't need you to repeat the words over and over....we get the jist of it all.
If it wasn't a joke, this person was a fool, a cocky cocky fool. Because now the person it was meant to curse has possesion of the doll, they could destroy the damned thing without worry of it harming them in the process, why because the original caster doesn't have possesion. The gods are not channeled to give them power to harm and nothing bad can happen.
And for future reference, you don't need to believe to be harmed, you need to be fooled into thinking that you are weaker, of less mental, spiritual, and physical will than the one wanting to harm you. Hence why Tribe priests were revered, people were born to believe that they had more power than everyone else and so people feared their wraths. If you believe in yourself, in your strength, and that no one of this sort may harm you then you will not be harmed by such petty curses.
In this case..it is Mind over Matter.
Wow ThePinja relax *could make things worse by picking up spelling mistakes, then I could gorge on more anger lol
Seriously, If like me people do not understand certain words and phrases, we only have to ask.
All magic has power if believed in. I side with Lore here. Just dump it and forget it. Don't go superstitious and just don't give them that power over you. (er rather your friend)
Voodoo dolls are effective, though. Especially if one is inclined to be freaked out about it.
Since I'm awake still and it's 5:30am now, I thought I should mention the basic premise for voodoo dolls works on the principle of correspondance. Usually voodoo dolls are going to have a sample of their target's hair or something to represent the person that is the target of the voodoo spell.
Basically, that doll having something in relation to the person being cursed follows the principle of correspondance (the lesser having power to influence the greater and vice versa).
My opinion? Burn it and see if your friend starts screaming. :) (that's a joke)
I do not think that the doll could do anything to the person who found it but scare them, because the person who created the doll would need to have it with them to use it, and i do not think a person needs to believe in VooDoo to be affected by it...
I would keep the doll somewhere very safe. I'd hate to see my dog get a hold of it. And I wouldn't go sticking any pins in it either.
Just reading this... weird...
you say it was dropped off... does she know by who? How did it get in her place?
I would worry more about that then the doll itself!
i still feel that finding a doll can't be anything possitive...someone might of in fact put negative energy into such a doll which can cause one to get in a mind state of depression there have been cases where people meditate on objects directing negative energies into such things and givving them to people to only cause harm
that is a very good point made and i think once one understand what that belief system is when they receive a doll that it is possible that their mind can get them in a way that can even be a hazard to their own being..the mind is a strong tool but very easily persuaded
its an omen.
they have wronged somebody,
and that person seek revenge.
they should definately do something about it
Yes to the power of belief. And to the smudging with sage or the use of salt water...or just plain salt to cleanse a space or house. I've never heard of Borax, but then we are all still learning. True about hoodoo as opposed to voodoo, but that is really a technicality in this discussion. And really wondering how someone got into the house to drop something like that. There's your big worry.
I had to post again & say that i agree with a few people on here. If it was meant as a "tool" to harm someone then why leave it at the persons doorstep? It doesnt make any sense. If the doll was supposed to be used to harm that person then wouldnt the person who created the doll keep it? It seems like all the doll was used for was a scare tactic or they just dont have a clue as to what they were doing. Its hard to say why people do the things they do anymore......
I thank you all, and of course my good friend queenofchaos. I had this done to me. I live alone, and someone planted it inside my apartment. It was placed where I would encounter it without even knowing. I have read all your posts. I called it a "vodoo" doll because I lack any other terms. I again say that I appreciate all of your expertise on this matter. With this in mind, I think this matter is closed. Should you wish to contact me directly, I would still appreciate it. Thanks all......
do a protection spell use salt water in the house to ward of evil spirits
dropping a voodoo doll? if someone would do that it would be kind of stupid as they show that they are after you...
what was the doll made of? if its soap you have a slightly big problem... with anything else you might be able to deal with without problems..
ppl here are talking about protection spells.. but they are no use if you dont know who dropped the doll as that will be the only way to be safe for sure.. spells cant protect you 100%.
btw if the other person practices voodoo and you dont.. believe me they will know enough spells to get around your protectoin spells as they never protect you totally.. find out who it is.. and get a spell to bann that persons magic.. the only way to deal with it
well here is the thing
the only way you can have a natural voodoo doll is if it has a piece of cloth or something personal from the person that the preistess has to believe in the doll so much and then has the power to do whatever she wants to it
so if there is anything personal, like a ring or hair or a piece of clothes....DO NOT MESS WITH IT IT COULD END UP HURTING THE PERSON THE PRIESTESS HAS CURRUPTED
so many other religions now days use dolls that the voodoo religion used so it is hard to tell if a doll is really a voodoo doll or from another sub-religion most people don't realize that voodoo goes far deeper than just using a doll with pins
Ow yeah, that sounds like a bad sign or something, I mean finding that kind of doll, just like that!
I would be extremly carefull on this one, beacuse this is serious!
It can be a very scary thing. Even if you don't necessarily believe in that specific thing just having any belief system I think would make you worry.
Chaos have oyu found any more info on the reaosn behind this ..I justthink the person is messing around trying to scare someone
I do not see that this was a accident, expecialy with stuff like that, you should be very careful while dealing with this at all times. Feeling are uneasy with this situation.
In my opinion the doll was left on purpose and in general they are mnet for bad thingds. However the thing with voodoo and other similar cults is that the power of an object or ritual is based upon your own beliefs and faith. Therefore the more you believe the more power it has and vis versa.
i really dont know but i wonder sometimes if someone dont have a voodoo doll of me the way i just get pain for no reason....
I would do a protection spell, but in most cases it's just a scare tactic and the person who left it, has no idea what they are doing.
The VooDoo Ive experienced is totally up to the person it's being done to . If they have a strong believe that voodoo is real than tier going to feel the effect of the spell. I know finding a voodoo doll anywhere is not a good thing for a believer. Hypothetically, your friend is a believer , worry sets in and there is a marked change in tier behavior . You being a close friend ask "How do you feel?" Your friend answers " Why do you ask?" You say you don't look well" Bam you just inadvertantly put a nail in his coffin. Many more comments like that reenforce his fear of the curse and he begins tto look worse and worse till death.
I think someone is trying to scare your friend for some reason
well i could go off on a diatribe about how to protect oneself here...but thats been done....
point is...it only works if you allow it to....
the statement I believe in magic...I don't believe in your ability to use magic, is a fantastic barrier....it weakens the persons own self knowledge that they can make something happen....and if the will weakens...the magic fails...simple as that
My personal reaction to this would be to rip its head off....and then when I was still walking around after...go...hmm....guess you were too weak in your casting...try harder next time
but then again i'm kind of a dive in headfirst sorta guy
Voodoo is a powerful mystical practice that can bring spectacular gifts and rewards to anyone who believes, who is willing to place his destiny in the hands of loving spirits, who await the call of service.
The Voodoo doll is used to represent the spirit of a specific person. You can address the doll as if you are talking to that person, requesting a change in attitude, influencing the person to act in accordance with your wishes, your desires.
Once in possession of an authentic Voodoo doll, you can request the doll to call upon powerful forces known as Loa. You can perform a simple but effective ritual to fulfill a specific dream, an urgent desire. This timeless ceremony is carried out to persuade the spirits to exert their influence in this world.
If people are uncofortable with someone leaving a VooDoo doll or any other type of figure in their house or on their property, all they have to do is cleanse the property and house and cast a protection spell...
I always associated voodoo dolls with evil spirits, and someone wanting to harm the receiver of one. I am more inclined to believe the power of voodoo rather than dismiss it totally and so I would take care and investigate matters fully.
I dont think you should be freaked out about it. I think, if you dont believe in it, then it can do you no harm. If you believe in it, then thats one thing to get away from. Nothing can hurt you unless you believe it can.
U are right but I think everbody would be anxcious first when he or she sees a voodoo doll in his place
True. If I saw one I would be scared at first too, but once you figure out if you dont believe it wont hurt you, you should be fine.
Well according to superstition no harm can be done without the doll itself, so I wouldn't be too freaked out. A good protection spell might come in handy though.
Is it possible to hurt yourself with a voodoo doll of yourself?
Anything is possible.
Working for a Vodoun High Priestess, I learned that. When it comes to the Loa, you leave offerings. Dolls can be anything from hexes, blessings, bindings. but there are any number of other spells you can do with one. Its a very interesting medium/indermediary for intent.
Best thing as I said, Burn it in a ritual fire to Ogun asking him to make null all intent from it.
I completely agree with the power of belief and will. Voodoo means nothing to me and wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Though I would then wonder who put it there.
well IF you are a follower of voodoo/hoodoo/santeria, then it could have some power over your life, otherwise...it's a scare tactic that has little or no effect on life.
i'm not discounting voodoo in stating this...but more the ambiguous intent...believe and will it to have been of good intent and then if it wasn't that is automatically working protections against it...force of will and intent...the basis of all magic
Well I would be scared, I would most defintely get a protection spell and also look into someone comming into home to maybe bless it. Anything that could help in anyway if it is cursed.
well the fact that you would be scared is what would validate the attempt into something real.
you yourself are feeding it power
AGAIN, THANK YOU SO MUCH ALL OF YOU! I appreciate all of your concern, please please I am done with this! He is now my pet, I call him "Petey". All of this is done, please do not respond to this thread anymore! I thank all of you! Let this die out! I am creeped out enough! Thank you all!
VooDoo Dolls are not only used for bad or evil spells, they can also be used for love, wealth, protection ect...
"voodoo" means Spirit of God.. it could be a blessing or something not so nice.
I personally don't beleive in voodoo's, but if your friend is really that worried, she could get it checked out. Cause just the worrying is hard on the mind
I believe the real power is caused by the person cursed etc... and their reaction to it. The fear feeds on itself and creates it's own negative energy force creating kaos in your own aura.
You know. That sounds like a really good way to rattle someone. I'm glad you shared this one. I'll have to keep it in mind. :D
oh my god. I would tell them to get rid of it. If it has nails inside of it... its even worse. Voodoo dolls are not wat you should have at ur house because that means someone has control of ur life. well tell ur friend about the stories and tell them to be cautious. If things go wrong then they should get rid of the doll rite away. The person who has the other doll only has control of what goes on when ur friend has the other doll. There are different stories involving the voodoo doll. So I would make sure that there is more research done on the certain doll. Even maybe take it to a profession who deals in stuff like that!!! Caution first!
LUV: Des.tiny
A person does not need to believe in voodoo for a spell to work, and if someone put a container of nails on my front steps that does not mean someone is casting a spell on me, so i would not be worried about it, cast a protection spell...
If it was me I would probably freak out when I found it. I'd probably just put it in a jar and leave it alone. The person it is supposed to model might be harmed if you do something to it. You never know
If someone left me a Voodoo Doll I would be scare as hell and try and find out who left it and why
What are your feelings on this? Is it something that ppl should be freaked out about?
Voodoo can only work if you believe in it, don't believe and it can't harm you.
Not unless you believe
i would be very freaked out about a voodoo doll being left in my apt. but who does this doll look like. most often a voodoo doll would look like the person it was intended for. say if it was meant for me it would look like me in some way. and since it is there i would do a cleansing spell on it and then burn it. but i would like to see a picture of this doll.
Voodoo Doll left at your house, is no worry unless they have another one ..... it could be a warning, however if they left it at your house that means they didn't use it against you which is a good thing..... my feelings are that if you are going to do it why warn them, just do it
Almost as dumb as when I was in prison and people would slide the death card (Tarot) under doors. It didn't do a damn thing.
it might be that some lost it or that some one is out to get that person, either way they should probably burn the doll to get rid off it. That or go to the local occult shop and ask them for help.
Voodoo works if you believe in it.. If not then i do not think it really works at all.
I would have to agree with drackicewolf and obsidianfury on this one.
The doll should look like the person it is intended for and have something that belongs to that person. Such as hair, clothing, or something else along those lines.
If you do not believe in the doll or what it can do, then you should be safe.
