Do crystals really have special powers?
I have wondered this for a long time, I have many crystals but they have never proved to me that they do have any powers. I have been told that for them to work i must believe in them......I'm just not sure.......what are your views?

For the crystals to work, the first thing you should do is energize them, and cleanse them. Use your universal energies to magnify theirs. Crystals are living organisms, they act on their own, but sometimes need a bit of oomph. The practitioner may need a bit of guidance and or training as well of how to handle the crystals correctly to achieve the wonders and wisdoms.

I think that in order for them to work you have to believe in them, but I have also heard that you must charge the crystal with your energy to give it some kind of power.

TM can you feel the energy in the crystals you have? I don't do much with crystals, since herbalism is more my thing.. but I've handled some stones that have pretty incredible energy. I believe they all have energy of their own that they have absorbed through time and you just have to focus and direct that energy to your purpose. Or cleanse them completely and charge them with the energy of your intent. Interesting topic :)

crystals dont have powers that's what I bleave.

I think the only thing the crystal has is the capability to nehance the power you already have in you

Crystals can have a very strong power to them but you have to believe in them. You also will need to cleanse them and charge them, and then store them in a place that is seperate from everything else. Like a silken box or something to keep them as pure as possible. The crystal is just one of many tools that can be used though.

Crystals have many uses some of which include cutting/drill, electronics, etc. Maybe they can heal too...

wearing crystals and other stones can heal or protect the wearer. you can also use them to help enhance a spell, attract money, love, heal depression. any number of things. at least theve always worked for me and those that i have made necklaces and other things for.

I aggree with Soulshroude. But I do think if you not belive in them, they wont work... Is in our belives the power lays.

Crystals have to be charged in order to work properly. If you buy a crystal from the store more than likely it's be drained, not by the owner but by it's surroundings...ie: other crystals or energy absorbing stones.

It is best to gather Crystals from their source and to store them in lead.....yes I said lead. because the energy will not seep out.
Crystals can not be charged by electrical means, it's a different type of charge, you need a specific type of light source in order to recharge them. And charging periods differ.

I have always been attracted to crystals.. and have had many pass through my hands on their way to a new home..I was thought long ago that If you are attracted to a crystal then it has a power that is meant for you and you must release that crystal to its new owner. I also believe that you must believe for a crystal to reap its benefits.

the bible has mention of crystals in protection . and useing them for healing i personaly don't know if it works but if it does its worth a try

Alright people, no mocking intended here, but crystals are not religious, they will work whether you believe they will or not. They are a mineral which response to the energies of the earth. If you learn how to use them, belief or no, they can work wonders. Use them as a tool, not as a belief system.

All crystals just as with all things, have an energy frequency. It really depends on your personal energy signature which will work for you. It is best to have several crystals availible because your energy can change given mood, outside sources, and maturity, ect. If you happen to find a crystal somewhere that just seems to draw you, almost like a magnet, that one will work for you. it is then you will know the energy of a crystal.

I take my crystals and put them in fresh mugwort to cleanse them. I hold them in my projective hand to put my energy into the crystal. Many times a gem will speak to you, and I believe that why we find attraction to it.

crystals are an energy worker's and a psychic vampire's best friend. i have an extensive collection and a connection with each of mine. some are here to protect (the ring of quartzes hiding around my apartment), some amplify, others help me be more positive.

then there are those that just straight up amplify my energy working... those are the strongest to me.

i charge them regularly with my own energy and have even experimented with storing energy in one of them in the case of emergency.

crystals are said to have a memory and they hold inside the energy of eons past. they are living organisms. own one for long enough and know its inclusions well enough, you can see it change over time ever so slightly.

one of my favorites is a heart shaped brown stone. i picked it up at a lonely lake side in colorado. found it myself. it's awfully light for a stone its size and it radiates the quiet energy of a crystal geode, meaning inside of it, there is crystal of some sort.

when i astral travel with it in hand, it instantly transports me to the lake it came from. it gives me a sense of peace like no other crystal in my collection.

i've thought often of cracking it open to see what crystal dwells within, but it's happy the way that it is. i have no intention of disturbing what lies within.

last note: the best resource on crystals, stones, and metals is Scott Cunningham's Crystal Encyclopedia. Any decent witchcraft shop will have a copy of it.

it explains projective and receptive stones, common uses and the history of different stones and even has a section on metals. best of all, there is a center pullout section with pictures of all the stones described in the book.

I have used crystals for healing but they have never really worked for me, but it is probably due to the fack that i do not 100% believe in them for them to work...

Got to make sure you got the right crystal for what you need. If I hold any ,I can feel a calmer state. Make sure that other people are not holding it,because it will dull the effects of it.

Crystals work great. They are responsible for many of todays electronics being able to work.

I believe they either need to hold some form of entity or be empower'd by a force to power the crystal, and if you believe the crystal can do somthing depending on the powers granted in the crystal, healing could be a possibility!!

I dont believe crystals can heal , The energry comes from you and your energry goes through the crystals, Its really you healing but thinking the crystals heal because you have them in ur hands,. Its all in the mind , . They have no power,

well i have heard that cystal do heal but mainly it comes from within the power that you send thru the crystal and then it transmit it back to you

I've never used them,But know ppl who do,They have to be energised by you,and they work with your energy.It's awesome how they work.I'm learning about them.

I plan on researching it some more...and maybe trying it out.... I have seen it work for some of my friends...so why not try it myself

Some crystals have natural power, but for real healing or affects you need to go through a cleansing ritual and the like. They do prove to be beneficial though.

Crystals influence the energy vibrations of your aura, balancing energy flow to, from and through your body.

I have a healing crystal I use for headaches and it works wonderfully.

If you are using crystals then you NEED to believ they can or will help you, you put positive waves and thoughts into them...if you belive they will work..

I personally have never had any experience with them other than thinking, "Hey, thats pretty." However my neighbor believes in them whole heartedly and he charges them on an alter in his room. Perhaps it really is just a matter of belief. To me they are just something nice to look at.

I have had crystals for years. Some of them are used for storing energy, some for focusing and emitting that energy into my home, some for grounding my wards, a couple of amethysts that help strengthen my shields when I'm travelling, one that I use for astral travel, one that I use for scrying, another that makes a great wand... and some to store energy for healing. There are two or three of those, and when there's a major injury that I need to work on, it's nice to have a couple of extra sources to pull from besides the earth under where I'm working.

a crystal is a use for a medium, meaning you can use a crystal to enhanse the abilites you already have. But a good idea is to charge the crystal with your own energy and every now and then cleanse it when you do use it for something.

I don't think crystals have 'special powers' they're just able to store energy. You or someone else are the ones that 'program' the crystal.

I think that crystals and other stones or gems can be used to focus your own powers. As for having their own., I'm not sure.

Crystals are like all alternative medicine, you need to belive that it will work/help/cure what ever in order for it to work...my opin for what its worth is that if you learn and work with crystals they do have there own energy and power...

Crystals themselves do not have power. They can hold power but they do not create it. Crystals are really cool. A crystal is like a rechargeable battery with now charge. You get to charge it how you want to. Crystals can be charged with positive or negative energy. They hold the power but not forever. If I empowered a crystal over the course of say six months. That crystal might only hold that power for a year or so. Like a battery. I do believe that we can easily take power from crystals as well. Crystals are a good way to convey power to someone else. I think crystals are awesome and I personally believe in their abilities.

Yes, they work. At least they have for me. However, like others have said, you have to cleanse them. You also have to be using the right crystals for you. When I'm shopping for them, I'll touch each one until I find one that feels right to me. If I can't find one, then I just don't buy a crystal that day.

Of course, there is a belief factor. If you have doubts, it may not work for you.
They tend to be best used to focus your own energy, or during meditation, although they do have other properties. It's up to you what you do with them.

It makes sense to me as crystals have different structures and can affect the passage of electomagnetic waves throiugh them e.g. light refracted through a prism

Yes Crystals do work! Crystals are naturally occurring elements placed on this earth for a purpose. Just like some vitamins used for Health purposes are comprised of natural elements found in the earth, so are crystals. You just have to learn how to use them. Some people buy crystals simply for the fact that they are pretty, when in fact some crystals can be useful tools if the user knows what they are doing. They are highly effective in balancing the chakras.

I do agree that a lot of stones and crystals have healing properties but i do not think that they work for everyone, i think that people have to be open to their healing properties for them to work right...

Well, obviously if you don't believe it will work it won't. You need to believe that they will work. They usually just enhance the power you already have inside you.

I believe people can make objects have special abilities but I do not believe objects have abilities of their own, I do believe though that some objects can be better to use for the purpose of transfering said abilities

Since Crystals are semi conducters of energy, it would stand to reason that they would work for many things other than electrinocs,healing included.
I guess it would all depend on the lattice energy of a said crystal that would determine if it would be good for healing or not.

I believe that it is the practitioner that has the powers and not the stones. They are merely a focus item. The energy and heat in the crystals helps a person to concentrate on their task at hand.

IMHO,I believe it would have to do with the frequency contained within a crystal that would be the reason behind any healing properties it might have.

If you go to "energize" one of these things and do not do it with the proper frequency,then would that not render it pretty much weak or inert?

I believe a piece of granite has powers if you believe in it. The magic is not in the object but in the faith.

I was once given a rose quartz by a friend when I was feeling ill. According to her it would cleanse my aura or something and make me feel better. I don't know much about stone at all so I took her word for it. To you know that I actually ended up feeling worse??? I was sluggish and just felt downright icky.

I also had a friend that couldn't wear watches that were powered by quartz. They always died on her.

Crystals are some of the oldest nature spirits and natural power sources.

They work ... but they work slowly... you can't see and often won't realize their power for some time if you are not sensitive to energy work .
And Yes they can enhance what is already within you.
I do beleive that it takes effort and correct mind thought as with anything else.

From what I have read, crystals have their own natural energies that help realign the aura and balance the chakras. If auras become discolored or chakras unbalanced, it can cause dis-ease in our natural lives, and leaves us vulnerable to disease or other illness. The crystals do need to be cleansed often to clear of any negative energies they may have absorbed, as well as energized. Natural sunlight will do the trick.

I also believe that your faith in the crystals plays a big part. If you really are interested in using this type of healing technique, I recommend the Crystal Healing Pack by Judy Hall. I have been using mine often. I have problems often with nitemares and wearing amethyst around my neck and cleansing it often has kept them away since I started using it.

I always thought that crystals magnified your power, I am not too sure if that is the same for all crystals or just certain types. Also you have to cleanse and energize them.

Crystals are healing but you would have to be open to the idea also you can store energy in them if that is what you desire

Well, the power it self comes only from us, and the cristal is a good chanel for chanelling that power wich comes from us, healing power. They concetrate that power.

Rose quartz is quite good healers say, for good vibrations.

Same is possible with a steel knife, one may chanel power trough its handle, toward the point, with that that the handle is steel it self as well.

Yeah, you gotta beleive in them, in order to chanel the enrgy trough it, you need to beleive that you are streaming the energy, not the quartz, quartz is actually dead thing, cuz it has no thought pattern, like anything elese, it gets activated in some way, only if the motivation starts from us, since we are the latest thing here.
