Has everyone ever had it where time or space seems to have shifted. Mine is normally like driving or reading. Driving I can be driving to work which normally takes 18-22 minutes and I will all of a sudden be 5 miles closer to work and wonder if I had spaced out but it will be the same time as before and I will get to work 5-6 minutes quicker then what is possible because I use cruise control to not speed to fast. Also when I am getting ready and I have time to spare I will read about a page for every minute I want to go by so I am not sitting there bored and watching a clock. The last time I had 15 minutes marked out 15 pages read them and only 3 minutes had gone by. Please tell me if anyone else has ever experienced this.

I don't drive but sometimes something simular has happened to me but in reverse. when i have been a passenger on a bus, i look my watch at, for instance, it's 20 past the hour, then about 30 seconds later, i check my watch again and 10 mins has gone by.

i have had it happen to me. usually only a few minutes, but once by several hours. my watch stopped, but as it was dark (in summer) and i'd walked at least 4 miles since sunset, i guessed the time to be about 11 pm, so reset my watch and wound it up again. when i was later able to check the time for real, i was 3 hours fast, and it was only around midnight. it could not possibly have been 9 pm when i reset my watch, as it had been pitch black for a long time, and the sun sets at around ten.

epilepsy can cause blackouts, but there is no form of epilepsy that can cause you to reach your destination at exactly the same time (or earlier) than you left home.

from my personal experience with said illness. it only causes u to lose track of what went on in the last few mins. so from what was said. yes i dont think it is possible for time and space to bend or flex if u will and bring us closer to the places we wish to go...

Time and Space shift all the time, Time is noe linear at all Time is fluid. Not all Humans are sensitive enough to experience the Time shifts.

Sounds like 'road hypnosis' to me. Your conscious mind sort of shuts down and you're driving almost completely with your subconscious mind. Since these aspects of your mind tend not to communicate well (outside of hypnosis or dream-state) the time is lost to your reckoning. I've had it happen to me multiple times and with activities other than driving. Anyone that has done line-work would most likely have experienced this as well. That seems to be where it is most common AFAIK.

It is not zoning. My work is 14 miles from my house and I always leave at 6:15. Normally get to work between 6:30 and 6:35 and I have made it there at 6:20. I never leave late or early because I drive my room mate who works with me. To make it there in 5 minutes I would have to drive 180 miles an hour. My Impala kicks ass nut not that much ass.

Not all individuals are focused enough for the time shift awareness, but you can train yourself to be as such.

As time is fluid, as well as is space; space being dimension of course. Not stating facts from quantum mechanics, but from distortions. Your brain may be catching up to the times with which you experiance bringing a realization that time may have paused for a moment after you were lost in that train of thought.

As for the counting the seconds of a clock as a troubleshooting technique, your brain does adjust accordingly and differenciates between time and mind.

I would not think space had anything to do with time, other than the continuum theory. Then again, if a continuum came into effect, and the universe had to adjust itself, than you may perhaps experiance such shifts in time.

As I have said, it comes with an awareness for what time actually is.

time shifts are fun and relatively easy to do. when reading, it's simply that time is passing normally, you just don't notice it. it's just like when you do anything you enjoy time flies.

in terms of time shifts while driving? i deliberately do it on days i'm running behind schedule. i drive no faster... but i focus on getting there faster and arriving on time. normally, the drive ends up taking 5 min less (a 20 min drive in 15), regardless of traffic.

i have always held that time is non-existent. it's only because it is "perceived" by our linear consciousness that it passes and is marked in seconds, minutes, hours, days, etc. with this perception of time, it is possible to shift slightly. only slightly because time is also perceived by others on the road and in the world around us.

however, as with all things that are ruled by perceptions in the mind, it is malleable and doesn't always play by the rules.

this brings to mind a rather famous experiment in physics... don't remember the name of the scientists it's associated with.

if you take two clocks that show the same time, mark seconds on the second hand at the exact same moment, and leave one on the ground and fly one around the globe; the traveling clock always ends up at a slower (or is it faster?) time.

I actually found a great website regarding this topic:

http://realityshifters.com/pages/articles/timeshifting.html

My thoughts are that since the mind is a such a powerful thing, especially the subconscious, it is perhaps possible that we control how our time "flies." As someone above said, I believe Jenova (forgive me if I'm wrong), when one really focuses on getting somewhere early or on time, they can make it happen without rushing themselves. We control what happens with our time, not a clock nor the universe.

That does happen to me, espically when I'm driving to work. It usually takes me 45 mins to get to my office, but often enough it seems that I'm there before I know it. And since I'm out at 430 in the morning, I have to pay attention to animals threatening suicide by my car lol, so I know I'm not just really really deep in thought.

Yes it seems when a person is traveling at certain speeds it is quite possible that time and space at times can bend itself and we often find ourselves spacing out at this moment in time and when we come out of it we find ourselves at our destination much quicker than we anticipated.

What is interesting is that you have an observer, and it happens on the same route, and it has happened more than once.

You should set up some kind of experiment to test and validate your observations.

Would the same happen if you took a slightly different route?

Perhaps there is a time warp factor, a threshold to another dimension, a bermuda triangle of time shifts in that particular area. Maybe some witches were burned right there on the interstate, and to escape their plight one of them opened a portal.

Anyway, usually I have the weirdness of time going to fast, or just fast in general in air and then when I arrive (even without being time zone changes) my watch is behind, I never understand it...

This has happened to me while driving. I always just sort of attributed it to being tired though. Sometimes after work I'll be driving home, and suddenly I'm sitting in my driveway trying to remember the actual drive, and failing miserably. I don't know...not sure if it's some kind of space/time lapse...but it sure is odd.

I have had the same thing with driving to work. It takes me a good 25-30 minutes to get to work. On some accasions I have left late because I have slept in or just not motivated enough. On these occassions I tend to be in another world, I have even ran a red light a couple of times not aware of it until my son tells me. Yet on all these occasions I get to work at the same time I would if I left at my normal time. I admit I am a speeder but when I feel like this I dont speed because I just couldnt be bothered plus there is always speed cameras lol.

I have read some books where I get so involved in them that I loose all trace of time and my surroundings. Also been that tired that I dooze off for what seems like 10-15 minutes but has really been hrs.

I think it is just your mind traveling..day dreaming...while you are still aware of what you are doing you are off thinking of something else so when you come back into reality more time has passed than you think. Its like when I'm gaming...I feel that only 20 or 30 minutes have passed and I look at the time 2 hours have gone by like nothing.

As long as your floating around the sun on earth time isnt going to shift.

What has happend is your perception of time has shifted and it only appears that time has changed.

Time as is commonly understood is only perceptual measurment. Normal space-time is set and the measurement thereof is also set. While experiance and perceptions governs what we as an individual see as reality when placed in the context of group reality and removed from linear-thought we see that what we as an individual experiance is for the most part just a flaw in our perception.

it seems likely that we can bend/warp the space/time gambit.. it's almost too bad that we cannot control the whole thing just a LITTLE better... lol

It happens to me all the time.Driveing I wind up getting home 15 min. to 1/2 hour before I left. It's great when you run late and wind up not being late.My friends no longer flip out on it anymore and ask me to do it and somehow I do it.

There are times where I have some kind of jump into a different time-frame. I used to think it was just a powerful form of deja vu but it's not. It happens too often. A friend of mine says it can happen when your mind and spirit are shifted out of the norm. I'm autistic and a medium so that may explain it.

You may simply be disassociating for short periods of time. Look it up, it's cool.

I don't think you're talking about time or space shifts. I have similar experiences with routes i've taken routinely. You just automatically know where you are going and so your mind drifts. It isn't a new place you're going to therefore your mind does not need to be as alert.

It could be possible that there was a monentary time warp that can happen. Would be nice if this was something that can be controlled

I tend to think of it not as time shifting, but that the rate at which time flows in a specific location shifts.

I've had it happen where I was heading down to take my son to my parents. Of course, like all children, he took his time getting ready, so that by the time we left, we should have been on the road for over an hour already.

I'd told them to expect us by 4pm, we didn't get out of the house until quarter to three, and it's 184.6 miles door to door. Wisconsin State Patrol are A$$es to people with Minnesota plates, so I turned on AC/DC in the cd changer and set the cruise at 3 miles over the 65mph speed limit. I don't worry about time other than to picture myself turning into the driveway and looking down at the clock and having it read 3:55.

184.6 miles (and a stop for fuel and one of my son's infamously long restroom breaks) later, I turn into the driveway, look down at the clock, and watch the numbers change to 3:55.

No other reasonable explanation for it. The clocks in the house said 3:57 when we got in there. I know that we got out late, because we dropped my ex off at work on our way out of town; he had to be there by 3:00.

Then I started thinking about useful applications for this concept. How neat would it be for someone to have such pinpoint control of the ability to create a time-distortion field that you could create one within a traffic light control box or your computer's motherboard? Imagine the possibilities... ;)

You know, that's one of the phenomena reported with alien abductions. The loss of unaccounted for time.

It's because when you are not thinking about the time, it goes much quicker for you. What happens is you don't realise that time is progressing, because your not thinking about it.
