Most can remember them, others not. Let me know your views: Are they real warnings of things to come or not?
Sahahria edit: Please spell check and use proper punctuation when posting a question. I have edited this so that the question is easy to understand.
I think they are both.......but most cant channel them into reality
I'm not sure. I remember some dreams, every so often. I've had some stupid dreams, some sexual, some horrible...
I'm hoping some of the ones I've had will never come true...
I guess if some one had psychic abilities then they might have prophetic dreams but I think some dreams are based on subconscious things like inner fears or desires...
Most certainly they are warnings of things to come if you have cognitive abilities. Every dream that I have had, and could remember, has come to pass. The difficult thing is knowing when and where the event will take place because this is not always very specific.
I think, from my experience, that a dreaming could be veiwed from different aspects. A dream as a result of subconscious thoughts (like things that we are occupied during the daytime). This kind of dream is warning us with some pictures which at first sight are irrelevant to us...
But their are also dreams which are ment to warn us about the events which will occur in our future, events which are mostly like to be negative...
And the third level is a lucid dream but I don't think it reffers to a question...
I remember some of my dreams... And yes some I do feel are a warning... but By the time I know that... It to late... some are from me not understanding what there trying to tell me and honestly not trying to understand them... When the time come that I do... I really wish I had never had the dream... Because then I feel responsible for what has happened!
i believe it is according to the content of the dream. Some dreams are for pleasure and some for warnings. The subconscious mind can make us have dreams of something that has happened to us. However, some dreams help warn us of somethings that is yet to come. One must know how to interprete their dreams in order to realize exaclty what the dreams mean to or for them.
there is some truth to you'r dreams yes.
but as for them being a warning of things to come? I think they are more like a warning of things that could be.
yes they are definitly a warning sometimes ( not all dreams are warnings I mean)
once i dreamt a friend of mine would get killed and two weeks latere i read in the newspaper that an old classmate got killed in an accident at exactly the same way as i dreamed
Scientifically dreams were once (ten years ago or so) considered to be the brain decompressing; yes like a computer; with dream nothing more than random images.
Currently a popular theory is that the brain is problem solving during sleep. I believe this.
Further though since I believe we are more than meat and bone some get more during this time whether the more that is gotten is understood or acted on depends on the individual. Also whether information is on the conscious or unconscious level depends on the individual.
I agree with the theory that the brain is problem solving. Often when I have a paper due, I read the materials and then I go to bed. When I wake up, the paper is in my head already written and all I have to do is type it. I also believe that dreams can predict the future. All of my black and white dreams have come true.
some are. some are not. a dream is either your fears, desires, or a forsight. it is a very dificult subject.
they are mega-hallucinations that the waking brain tries to protect itself from.
I believe there is a potential for foreshaddowing in dreams.
Most dreams, however, I think are some aspect of the mind setting things in order. I believe that most dreams are a result of the brain moving things from short term to long term memory.
I think it is far less frequent that a dream is "sent" to your mind as a foreshaddowing of things that may occur. I certainly do not believe that dreams reveal things that WILL (or should I say MUST) occur.
I think anyone can have prophetic dreams, but not all dreams mean something more. Most often dreams are just a reflection of what is happening in the present using alternative symbols. But because we are asleep, our subconscious is more likely to pick up things from higher levels of thinking, hence prophetic dreams.
people can learn from their experiences, ever since i can remember my dreams, they come and go with some that make sense more than others, those that well do happen to make you aware of things are what i call future dreams, mine warn me of a specific time and event, they let me know where to go basically and or where to head to in my life.
Although sometimes i dont always exactly remember after i dream some of my future dreams, you could say its embed into my memory until the day comes in question that ive dreamed about. i know for certain that for many things ive been able to warn people of somethings taking place.
its not something you hear about everyday and not always does everyone believe in dreams being able to tell you messages. i know for sure mine have never been known to lead me or anyone else estray.
General consensus amongst professionals tend to support the theory that dreams are our subconscious' way of working out the day to day bullshit for us- which I think is the reason why some things in our dreams are familiar, or are known to us, the rest being our mind's way of slotting the occurences into something we can deal with more easily...
I have often held with the same belief as others on this thread, that if the same dream, image for image, occurs more than 3 or 4 times in a row, it is usually a precursor of something to come, although not necessarily exactly in the way the dream happened-perhaps more along the lines of your brain warning you about something-
Most irrelevant dreams to me tend to slip out of my grasp almost immediately upon waking, but leave me with a certain feeling, either of happiness, upset or whatever- those I tend to dismiss as just my brain's way of filing stuff away
I think it depends on your teachings. If you are Taught to recognize dreams, they can help lead you where you Should be. But I Believe that not all dreams have this purpose.
they are a warning for me most of the time, since i have to take a special sleeping aid cause im an insomniac and the medication gives me very vivid dreams, i really like these dreams and sometimes i awake wondering if what happened in the dream was real
i couldnt let u know my dreams i dont recal havin a single 1 all just pitch black darknes and i know i dont care about spellin
my dreams are changes I would like to make in my reality, plus dreams of my past that remind me of who I am..I have no dreams of the future or deja vu.
most dreams warn me
but not all dreams tell me bad things though, once i dreamed that something good would happen for my mother and a couple of day's later she got promoted so i geuss dreams can tell us eveything
interesting lol my mom for some reason has thies dreams about her sisters and when she calls them all the stuff she was dreaming in fact happened
I rarely if ever have had a good dream that I remember. I actually scared the crap out of my mother as a child. When she would say sweet dreams...I would wake up at night screaming and crying because I had some horrid dream. My parents stopped telling me sweet dreams because they hadn't when I would wake that way and the only thing they could think of was that... later I found out that the dreams were parts of what actually happened to someone in our town. It was scary.
So many different interpretations about how and why people dream and the symbolism in dreams.
I highly recommend keeping pen and paper for a dream journal right by the bed. As soon as you awaken, write down anything and everything you can before they slip through your consciousness.
Dreams can be of hope, of longing, of warnings, or simply like was mentioned, a way to decompress from reality.
Some of us can have the same vivid dream over and over again...down to the last detail, as well as sometimes having something new added, but still being able to remember it like so many dreams you cannot...who or what is telling us something? That is the question I'd like to be answered.
I tried to write my dreams down, but then I wonder..If anyone sees my writings, then they would put me away in the fun house,so I quit.
I believe that the dreams that you keep dreaming over and over again, might really mean somthing.I have several that I dream over and over.Now..trying to figure them out..is very hard.
i belive dreams do have sertain meanings to them .. and then some dreams are just dreams..... i think if you keep a journal and write your dreams down although you may not understand them at that time ... when you return to them and reread them you can figure it out at a later time....alot of time i think dreams is just a way of your sunconcious trying to help you understand things or work things out that you might be haveing trouble with at that specific time....
beyond what i comprehend from my future dreams i do believe that dreams do hold a certain message for you, i have a friend i sometimes go to in everyday life who for some strange reason can never really remember her dreams but shes able to interpret others.
Sometimes it does take certain training and comprehension as far as interpretation goes for dreams.
i have had a few dreams come true it is weird some times
I have been able to remember most of my dreams for many years. I record them as well...something I learned from my mother. And some that have come true over time.
I have been able to remember most of my dreams for many years. I record them as well...something I learned from my mother. And some that have come true over time.
I have only one that came true.
Somethings did not happen,but most
of what I did dream has.
Dreams are the way your subconscious works out your real life problems...
SO if it is showing you a nightmare....it is probably showing you of the feelings not necessarily the images that you see.
In ways i believe that they may be some form of warning of things that may happen For everything you do has a way of changing what will happen next it all depends on how you do things everyday.
Dreams may also be reflections of what is on your mind. Of course a dream could merely be a dream; a made up story of things unknown. It all depends on what you believe in and what you do.
Ever since I was little I have always thought that your dreams with gateways to things to come in your lifetime.... but then again I think that some dreams are nothing more then images with no real meaning.
Most dreams are said to be subconcious warnings about the dreamers concious state. Despite what people say that they don't dream. Everyone does, but not everyone remembers them. And it's very rare to find people who dream in black and white. But mainly yes, dreams do have to do something with warnings.
i definitely think dreams are precognitive.
dreams are only an extention of your sub consious thoughts.they usually lead to things that you have done, will do, or want to do.
Yes and No. I can remember all my dreams and yes some do tell you things.
I know for myself that some of my dreams are warnings not for anyone else but for me... and some of them I would rather not remember of dream about... yea we do dream about the day to day life and what has happend during the course of our week as well...
I know that dreams can contain warnings, or messages of other sorts. I personally do not dream most of the time, and I hardly ever remember them, but the ones you do remember, maybe they are messages, or just your mind doing whatever and trying to entertain you during the night
all dreams are different and for me, i dream about my future n past to know what my future plans and feel strong in something.

It has been to my findings that with me personally, my dreams can be one of four things. One, a past life memory. Two, meaningful and should be paid attention to. Three, something that is about to happen; and four, just a dream. If I have a dream that is reaccuring, it is 99% of the time a past life memory. I have the gift of reading dreams. Most dreams have meaning, even when they seem pointless. At least that is my opinion, and I have had many people come to me and ask what there dream meant. Then when I tell them they find that it is very relevant to their situation and I never even know what the situation is. Perhaps it is all depending on how open minded a person is and how much they are willing to believe... :)
Even if they aren't psychic in nature, dreams do provide good insight. A lot of times in my dreams my mind just goes wild with ideas, many being relevent to problems on my mind. Suprisingly a lot of times things do happen simaliarly in real life like in the dreams (minus the bunnies playing the bagpipes. =p) but I think that's just because a lot of times deep down inside we kinds know what's gonna happen.
I think some of them are 'real' the other are just made by our brain, you know what we lived through the day, what we worry for and stuff like that...
but i do believe that some dreams can show what happens in the future, or as symbols can warn us
ps: be4 i had 1huge trauma, the biggest in my life, like weeks be4 it I started to dream that I'm looking at a lake, and suddenly i see lightning that goes into the lake.
the sounds kinda weird, but i think that was a warning 'cos, the trauma really shocked my life
Both i have had dreams that i should have realized were a sign of things to come. but i have also had dreams that i thought were something that i later realized were nothing but a random dream.
I beleive they can be vision or your subconsious tryig to tell you some thing in subliminal messages.
i think dreams are just our subconcious either telling us something we have forgotten or warning us of something were worried or scared about.
I wish that some of my dreams would come true, but most of the time of don't understand them because they can be confusing and make no sense at all.
Maybe if I read more into them I will find that they indeed are predictions or warnings
boy i hope not. if anyone has read my journal they would know the kind of dreams i have had. i hope they are just a part of your sub councience living its part in life
I beleive that they are things to come or past lives.
In any case I have remmeberd my dreams and have reaccuring ones.
you can read them in my journal.
I believe that your dreams are number of things. I have had dreams that feel like they are telling something or for warning me. I have also experienced a reoccurring dream, then experience something very similiar to it in real life. Dreams can be perseptions into the past, present and future. The uncontious mind is very tricky to understand why it does the things that it does.
my nucular family (meaning father mother and siblings) has an afinity about dreams. not only are there reacuring ones which hold numerous hidden advices but there have been many a time where we knew something bad had happened (ie my grandfathers major heart attack, or my cousins loss of her child at birth) and just had to wait till family told us about them.
i have spoken to a couple friends who seem to have the same ability...gift? some said it was god, others said they had no clue...so for anyone other then myself, i can't say, but for me i have no doubt on the prophetic reality of dreams, and the dream world as a whole.
I believe most of the time dreams are our sub-consciousness sorting out and dealing with thoughts and or problems in our concious mind
I believe dreams is your life playing over as you slumber. I also believe in your unconscious mind you remember things of the past as in past life regressions. In your slumber mind your is a open book which it is easy for one to lose control over, for instance someone can speak to you while you sleep and you can answer their questions in your unconscious state.
They dont have to be just warnings but alot are. I had a friend I had a dream about. She was surrounded by fire on 3 sides. (her apt complex was a square. ) ..I had called her and asked if everything was ok . An hour later she called me and told me of the fire..freaked her out ..all burned down except for her section of the complex
I believe that dreams can be warnings. I know that I have had a couple that forewarned to something.. I mean not the exact that happened in the dream but similar.
It seems to me that dreams are a parralel reality. because all my dreams have been of my future or someone elses future.
Dreams can be a premonition, but more often they are the manifestation of our subconscience.
I think that dreams do tell us things. I had a recurring dream for years when I was young. When I moved to Florida I found the place I had seen over and over again in my dream. I had told my brother about the dream for years, and he couldn't believe it when I sent him pictures. I had never been there before, but I had described everything perfectly before I ever went there. In my dream, I died there. I could never bring myself to go back to that place again.
I think that some dreams are ways to see things that we regularly wouldn't know but I don't think all of them are. You just have to know how to read them. I don't think that death in a dream always means someone will die, I think that you have to look into it deeper then that. Things in dreams symbolize something else most of the time and sometimes they show u exactly what may happen. I also think that people who have passed over can send u messages through your dreams, warning u of danger or maybe just saying hi to let u know they are ok. I personally think that u can use most dreams, but not all (some are just to weird and crazy to have much significance), to know things u otherwise would not.
I believe they could be both. More important dreams seem to be remembered while less important ones are not.
I've spent a lot of time and energy on dreaming if only from my faith so it's rare that I don't remember my dreams. I absolutely believe that there are prophetic dreams and that de-ja vu comes from some of those dreams. Half-remembering something that hasn’t happened yet.
im sure dreams can be warnings and sometimes just a fantasy that you enjoy.
Yes they are warning, sometimes even blessings.... i always follow my dreams
i find that my dreams can predict the future at times, and other times they help to show me what i want or what i'm really feeling.
i find that my dreams are of the things i want or things i fear!
Dreams could tell what is to come, but I think most are just caused be something happening in your life or something you ate the night before. If some of my dreams actually came true, I'd be in a hell of a lot of trouble.
i believe that sometimes the soul travels when you sleep. The body is trapped by time, the soul not so much. Half my Deja vu experiences come from dreams.
I had a dream about 2 years ago that made no sence to me. However all the events in that dream occoured at Mardi Gras last year, even in the order that it occoured in the dream... it was obvious as the day progresed but made no sence at all at the time of the dream... within the context of the french quarter it made sence.
The same thing occured when I was in the Superdome during hurricane katrina... the dream seamed disjointed and made no sence at teh time, but in the context of the superdome it did.
Some things in dreams have specific meanings... flying almost always means you have the ability to overcome your current difficulty for example. Fealing trapped in an airport or bus station means pretty much the opposite.
And some dreams are the disjointed days images that your brain tries to assemble into a story.
Well..... I believe dreams are there to give a message. For instance, I have dreams about my past lives (please don't think I'm crazy for that). The message clearly states that I did have former lives.
Not only can i remember details -- btu my dreams are so vivid, I have clear vision, smell, touch and power of will. I can shape surroundings (to a limit) the only thing I find is that I can't always change storylines. I can manipulate them. Also, I can't run as fast but do have more strenghth than I would in real life (not Superman strength) just enought to accomplish to task at hand. They used to scare me but now I look a them as adventures. I love dreaming....
Onyx90, you are not crazy. If you think that makes you crazy, imagin not dreaming at all. Or when you do dream, not being able to remember them
Dreams can be the worry or the joy of things to come.
They can be the the worry or the joy of the things that have passed...or that are present.
They can be your conscious....sayin, "What the hell did you just do!"
They are our unhinhibited -selves, truths, and realities comeing out from behind the curtins of our inner most restrictions, desires , beliefs, and doings....and in some cases , un-doings.
i think dreams are effected by what you were thinking about and how your day was. if you had a bad day and were thinking about how bad it was its probly gonna be a bad dream if you have a fun day and think about the fun things you did before you go to sleep i think your probly gonna have a nice dream. i think dreams are triggered from emotion
dreams certainly are triggered by emtion. i've recently had to come to terms with the fact i may never see someone i consider a brother ever again.
the past 2 nights i've dreamed about him and about hugging him. in my head i really want to see him and so i dream it
Many of my dreams have been warning of what was to come. I prepared and when it happened i dealt with it calmly. some of my dreams are just desire. Dreams are how the conscious mind deals with fears and worries.
I feel that dreams are reflections of the subconscious mind; things we have thought about over the day and things we have repressed. I think it's very important, especially with a very memorable dream to try and analyse it, and see what the main feelings were. I have at times kept a dream diary, and found that the highs and lows, rhythms and symbols of my dreams have been quite revealing into how my life is going in both my conscious and subconscious.
It's been said that dreams are just our subconscious having an acid trip...
I don't think dreams are the same as premonitions.I usually cant remember my dreams unless I write them down as soon as I wake, and even then theyre a bit foggy.Premonitions are more vivid, stronger.
i believe dreams can be many things...
they can be premenitions..this might be too much information, but i dream about blood or in red a day or two before my period...
i also think that dreams can just be a way to diffuse our subconscious of all the junk we take in a regular basis...
Dreams are complicated things... Some are warnings, some seem to have no point until analyzed... Some are just a result of your mind being so busy with everyday life that you dream about what you have to do...
As far as warnings go, however, it's hard to distinguish between warnings and reflections of fear, as these often intertwine in the same dream...
Dreams are like a ripple in a pond or a premonition some are real and others are just that there dreams
i believe that, dreams can be meaningless and they can also tell you what is to happen.
whether or not you know how far along in the future the happening is,
well for me i never know. it used to happen as though i would wait a year or two and would have something happen that was exactly like my dream.
it all just depends on who you are, and what you can understand from what you remember if you remember
I think it depends on the individual and how they interpret their dreams. From my experience, if something important is coming, I have seen it in a dream ahead of time. I have had a few "deja-vus" and realized later, I had dreamt it prior to it happening. Could it be a coincidence? Possibly. I have only experienced this approximately three times in my life.
I'm open to the possibility that dreams can sometimes be more than random firings. I do think we're sometimes still working through problems. But since most of my dreams are terrible things, nightmares, and have been as long as I can remember, I'm relieved to say that they have not come true. They stay in the scary playground where I sleep.
In some instances, yes, dreams are a warning of things to come. Most often than not though, deams are the by-products of what we see, hear and feel during our daily life. Some so-called experts believe that dreams are our inner souls trying to be known. I personally have not studied anything about dream interpretation, so i know very little about what they mean.
i love dreams but cant always remember them.i do think they have meaning.i think they are our subconciuos thoughts and may actually help us in real life as once i had a dream about a situation my friend was in and it helped me understand why she did what she did and i think some peoples dreams can be insites into the future or past.
indeed although most of the time if one even does remember its hard to understand the meaning behind them, for they are complex indeed.
I don't really think that all dreams are premenitions or anything like that, but there are the occassoinal few that do tend to have a psychic connection.
I really do think dreams can predict some kind of things to come.... But then again if some things happen to you before you go to sleep you tend to work that into your dream state.
