is there a difference between human and animal blood when it comes to drinking,power ,dreams, ect ?

in my opinion its all the same but human tastes better

I would think that as for as the energy gotten from it it would be the same, but that there would be a taste difference. I cant vouche for that personally but it seems logical to me.

As drinking blood has never been shown to be capable of transferring energy, whether between Humans or ... yes... even between those Humans claiming to be "sanguinary vampires," the point is made moot.

And, should there be any who wish to provide scientific evidence to the contrary, I welcome any and all such references.

Your blood is infused with your essence, so I would say there would be a difference, especially in Magick.

No, irishman, blood does NOT get sweeter if you eat alot of sugar. The amount of sugar in our blood, glucose, is very closely controlled by our bodies hormonesystem. When our blood sugar level is low, more glucose is released from our bodies' storage, and the opposite when blood sugar is high.
This way, our blood sugar levels stay stable.

Unless you mean diabetics. Their blood sugar levels can get a little higher, but most of their glucose is released through urine.
And I don't know anyone who drinks urine. Unless there are Urinary Vampires?

Being a Type I diabetic for the past 16 years I can tell you that without question our blood gets 'sweeter' as blood sugar rises. While it's true that the body attempts to shed sugar through the kidneys, it's not very effective. The definition of "High Blood Sugar" is just that, a higher concentration of sugar in the blood. And from sucking on my finger to stop the bleeding when I check my blood sugar..the sweetness is directly proportional to the glucose level in mg/Dl.

In any case, as far a caloric energy there would be no difference between normal human and normal animal blood. Other types of energy may vary more between individuals than between species..I don't know.

Umm... gross! No offense to any of you who enjoy blood, it's just not my thing, but IMO blood is blood.

I have no idea about magical energy, but I believe I've read that it can give the body caloric energy in a life or death situation.

KCRC, I have a close family member who has diabetes. Sweet tasting blood? If you can taste sweet blood you would most likely be in acute hyperglycemia, perhaps as a result of, or because of a eating disorder or obesity.
In any case, one would would be well on the way to being screwed if one would actually taste sweet blood.

Have you TASTED their blood at a normal 80mg/dl blood glucose and a high (but not dangerously so) 160mg/dl blood glucose? If not, you know not of what you so confidently declare.

Oh, I believe my family when they tell me it never tastes sweet. And I have been involved in near-comatose situations. So yes, I feel very confident.
I also believe in physical and electronic encyclopedias.
I see there is one more situation which would cause sweetness of blood: Kidney failure.

The lifestyle difference between humans and animals, means that the chemical makeup of the blood will be distinctly different.

Whether this translates into a tastier, or more 'potent source', is I suppose, down to personal choice.

Well, what is the substance Vampires want from blood? I've seen a movie where it was thought to be hemoglobin? But that would imply the Vampire is alive, if it would need oxygen. Does anyone else know of anything?

Well In my opinion a vampire can't be really dead, his blood would coagulate, ensuing some... mmh... basic deadly disturbance.

Or maybe there is in fresh blood something that can prevent this, but I won't advance further in a subject I don't know well...

i wouldn't think there would be any difference. animal blood is probably more pure.

There are loads of enzymes and proteins that play into the coagulationprocess. A lack of these would result in poor coagulation.
But what is missing in increased coagulation? Tricky.

Oh, sorry. I’m getting off topic here, I think. The purity of blood is mostly determined by environment pollution, and the animal’s place in the food chain. The lower on the food chain, the less contaminated is the blood, and thus more pure.
The polar bear for example is on the top of the food chain in its environment, and has a blood that, if ingested in large quantities, would be downright harmful to humans.
And we are very high on the food chain.

Blood is blood I guess, but it seems to me that with animals the taste maybe a little different! The fact that their diets are different would affect the taste, at least that's my opinion.

I guess when it comes down to it, blood is blood (as stated before). For me though, I want the personal feelings that go along with drinking it, so I prefer humans to animals. Plus, I couldn't bring myself to take blood from an animal (dead or alive) cause I'm a save the wildlife type person. LOL

If I were to "drink" blood, I would probably prefer anmial blood over human. They are much healthier than the average person, they dont typically gorge on potatoe chips and greasy nasty artery clogging stuff. Not to mention the sickness and disease a lot of people carry...not saying animals dont but its more prevelant in the homosapien.

its said that animal blood lacks certain things in thier blood, making it nearly impossible for vampires to survive on thier blood for very long, now whether it is a myth or not, i dont know.

to me, drinking animal blood is really no different than us humans eating meat...

I like the taste of human blood best, I don't really recall ever tasting animal blood directly. Rare steaks, hamburger and things like that is as close to the blood I would consider animal.

However, for those who are blood drinkers or would use blood in their ritual magick, blood contains the element of the life of the creature. It is a correspondance.

Blood contains a strong tie to life force and as such is seen as a strong component for any magickal working. It is also seen as highly desireable for vampires, as it were, because of its ties to blood. Metaphysically speaking, blood is the equivalent of the life of a being. It carries the physical nutrients of life and is a parallel to the energy body. The energy body has a corresponding (sometimes) pathway through which the essence of a person travels.

Blood is blood. It allows life to be sustained for both animals and humans. Having never drank blood (but had a craving for it just yesterday) I don't know if one tastes better than the other for the purpose of drinking. I wouldn't drink animal blood because they have an entirely different physical structure in terms of species, but I suppose as a correspondence it would carry the same effect.

I, for one, do not partake of blood; however, I do believe blood is blood, irregardless if human or animal.

However, I am curious as to difference in taste between a meat eater and plant eater.

I noticed alot of people think blood is blood. But every blood is different if you ask me. If you were to drink the blood from a bum compared to a well-bread person there would be a big difference.

I've tried animel blood once. Back in the second grade. But I don't remember want it tastes like.

Many months ago I started a thread about drinking snakes blood. Several people said that the energy of animals was often disharmonious, and negatively affected your feed. Some people said this was true of snakes blood, and others said this was true of all animal blood. The thread link in my profile is long dead, unfortunately.

Blood is blood, although animals blood would probably be purer, but then again I've no idea what animal blood would be like because I haven't had it.

I believe that some animals blood may hold different powers than other animals (sucha as the wolf). As far as taste, I believe that human blood tastes better.

persoanlly the only blood I can truely gain substance from is human. animal will curb the thirst.. but will not satisfy what I need from the blood

There is a very distinct difference human blood has so much more feeling ,taste , and is more fulfilling . But you can survive on animal blood if you want to ..

EVERY and I mean EVERY feeding I do I get IMPLICIT permission for. So its hardly the same thing.. nothing dies to feed this hunger.. nothing is harmed.. notice I di dnot say hurt for I will not try to say gathering blood is painless... but I do ASK .. and not just one time.. EVERY time. Other wise it amounts to something akin to rape in my mind.

And as for why.... why do people eat meat and not just veggies? Why do people do most of what they do?

All I know is without the blood I grow weaker.. and ill .. ask my coven I have been absent a great deal lately .. its. hard to explain to a person that does not feel this hunger.

and to be honest if your feeling weak why not see a docotor he will tell you that the blood in a human has a very very high iron content and that you should mabe take an iron suplement now you have no excuse do you. cough cough cult.

as much as I do not like doing this.. I must give you credit for raiseing a very valid point... the seeing a doctor thing..

I am under a doctors care I go to them first for everything for if they can fix it.. then why look for more.. diffucult means. But at the moment my doctors have no idea what is wrong with me. my iron.. simple and serum levels are wonderful. ( rasiens are wonderful for lifting this BTW) They can not tell me why my energy is low enough that simply geting up and doing all the normal things is damn near imnpossible for me at the moment. To say nothing of a .. infection.. that they have been unable to locate or fully treat for over a year. And before you bring it up.. yes I have been seeing more than one medical doc.. and a few mental ones as well.. and yes they are aware of what I consider myself. Its not simply the iron in the blood altho I admit that is prolly part of it. For if it was simply that supplements or animal blood would fill the need. And it does not. Would I change what I am... sighs.. that is hard to answeras its not possible so why try to answer that.

And for the record I am also wiccan and see no conflict in this. And just to forestall it.. NO I do not do blood magic.. its not necessarly a bad thing.. just not somehting I am comfy with.

People telling you they drink blood, does not neccessarily mean that they do, so no need to get upset.
Remember, people who would drink blood, would probably be fetishistic, or disturbed to begin with, and so their "gaining energies" or whatever from human blood vs animal blood would be opinionated or imagined.
Read people's opinions, but add salt.

im sure there are similarities....but it is a matter of preference...myself i could not see me drinking animal blood.

It is known that you can survive in harsh environments by drinking blood. Drinking blood is, believe it or not, a common practice among many of the

in all cases drinking animal blood isnt different from drinking human blood, it is used all over the world and you just have to adapt to it.

the fact that it is more frowned upon my society to drink from another human is probably what started something about drinking animals blood not being as "quenching" as humans blood.

Well I have tasted animal and human and I feel there is a difference. Human blood is straight from the tap, so you are getting the life force from that person, as with animal blood, if you are eating a rare steak or ground beef, the blood has been away from the animal and the life force has dissapated, so all your getting is cold blood.

Blood is blood.... though I don't get it that often I have to say human blood does taste better... Never really had much of a taste for animal blood.

There'd be a huge difference in taste one would think- considering most human diets consist of cooked food- whereas animals don't get to cook their meat.

I prefer Human, but only from a taste standpoint. To me, it just tastes better.but yes, I do drink animal blood regularly.
