About 80% of people I know that life a vampire lifestyle have some form of mental illness. I know that I personal have PTSD, saver depression and a long list of other things “wrong” with my mental state.
So here is my question, do you think there is a connection between mental illness and choosing a vampire lifestyle? Or do you think that all “groups” of people are equally messed up in the head? Please give an answer of yes or no and then tell us why you feel that way. Thanks.
I have re-posted this because it is a real question. Not one ment for polls. I was getting real answers to until my thread was closed.
Don't know where to start on this one...people being people, all groups have their "issues" I don't think one can say a specific group or lifestyle has more than another.
Personally I beleive that everyone chooe to live their own lifetyles the way the chooe, for example i have severe anxiety issues due to the lifetyle i choose. So in turn i beleive it the individual
Draconis
It is my opinion that people who are not sure of what their role is in life often choose alternative lifestyles. But, the vampire community is, in my opinion, not this type or group of people. We have people from all walks of life on the rave. It is my opinion that this group of people are more interested in living a certain way. They are not interested in creating an alternative lifestyle to hide from reality.
Perhaps they choose a vampire lifestyle BECAUSE they are mentally ill. Have you ever stopped to consider that many who proclaim themselves to be vampires are suffering from a mental illness. Perhaps some who proclaim themselves Vampires, have been molested or victimized in other ways and now they take on a persona in order to enhance their self image
That's a tough question. I feel that everyone from all walks of life have some sort of depression or something like that. I don't think it is just one society or another. Just my opinion.
Blessed Be,
Michelle
People with mental illnesses such as depression, things you stated, they feel like they don't belong, and they're outsiders, etc. Chosing a vampire-type lifestyle justifies their feelings of being alone, but also gives them a sense of power over their life when everything seems beyond their control.
This question is not put together well. Because mental illness to some is only considered those of extreme interruptions in daily life, while to others it includes mild depression and other metal diagnosis that many people have for a short time and after a while it no longer affects them.
If you mean the latter, then it's hogwash as most people have some sort of mental disorder that is diagnosible from anxiety, to anger, and as listed above depression.
Even with the former, I do not think the numbers are different within the whole community. This may not reflect your personal friends, but that is a limited group.
grouping vampires with mental illness is like grouping...black people with AIDS(No offense). Just cuz you are one thing doesnt mean that you will have something. Its all in the head..
There is a very fine line between being sane and insane, it is amazing how vunerable we all are to the other side of the wire and I believe this applies to everyone regardless of their lifestyle.
Thank you Sevenn. In the furture I will do better. It's some times think Billy is picking on me. lol I added the yes or no part after it got RIA'ed. But your right, next time I will word my posts better.
I did research on such a matter for high school paper and got a good review on it. Anyway it makes sense that "Vampires" both psy and sang have mental illness in some way shape or form especially starting out or finding out they need life essence to gain strength. The need for blood for the use of energy or the ability to take energy without penetration can be very hard to do or even control especially psy vampires who sometimes have little control of their power.
The mental illness is mainly from my research depression or even bipolar disorder. It seems highly common especially with the younger generation.
But that said being a "Vampire" is not a mental illness. Though Sociologist and Psychologist study modern day Vampires and just recently some hardcore Doctors did research on it does not mean it is a mental illness. A study of a group of people with common interest or common abilities is well common to find.
Mental illness happens to all groups of people but it is good to study individual groups to see the common illness that may associate with them.
I think it is that anything to do with vampires is newsworthy. People only hear of more extreme mental illnesses and vampires than any other lifestyle.
If someone who choses to live the vampire lifestyle goes nuts and kills someone, that alone will make headlines - if they go nuts and kills someone in a vampiric way, the press will go to town
If a builder goes nuts and kills someone with a hammer, it will hardly make the news.
Less severe mental illness, as everyone says, simply affects everyone including the vampire folk
I think all groups have the metal illness but I know that not all people who chose this life style wh o do not have mrntal illness
Hah hahah hah.
If a person has an imbalance then they might seek a self diagnostic way and that way is to imagine that one harvests Prana or blood and it appears to resolve the issue; whether or not the effect is
psychosomatic or real becomes moot. *laughs*
The effect is the same, and it is difficult to prove whether the symptoms are a result of a deficiency or that a difficiency resulted in a placebo cure.
Either way the theory is not flattering to one who practices vampirism.
Maybe. Maybe any one who wants to persu a different lifestyle is messed up in the head. (?)
I think everyone has their own issue or mental illness no matter the lifestyle that they choose. I was told & researched that people that are depressed or bi polar etc do in fact have a chemical imbalance. I doubt it has to do with a lifestyle, but more with family genetics. My father was diagnosed with depression, my mother & grandmother were diagnosed with it, so in fact my chances are high of having the same issues (i.e. depression...). So in fact it can be passed down through the family by genetics...Or at least thats what i think anyways.
do you mean most vampires in general, or most vampires on the internet? because you may find a higher proportion of people using the internet have mental health issues than people that don't. for one thing, the higher your inteligence, the more likely you are to suffer from mental illness, nervous breakdown, and stress. by the very nature of your condition, anyone who is not mainstream and has an alternative lifestyle, is going to have some mental health issues - but it's a chicken and egg situation. do people with mental health problems find themselves drawn, or are pushed into alternative and unusual lifestyles - or do people that feel unable to fit into mainstream lifestyles get driven to mental illness because they are marginalised?
discuss
i know i have several illnesses, but did they cause me to be like i am? wiccan, goth, vampire? or was i predispossed to be like i am? who really knows.
I suffer from depression, but I don't consider that relevant to my vampirism. Neither do I consider it relevant to my gender or anything else. Depression runs in my family and while I might have suspicions about my mom and vampirism, there's no concrete evidence.
There is a great deal to be said about mental illness and people who think that they are vampires or angels ufo abductees and so on. And it falls in line with several pshycologic theories.
Personaly I do not have any form of mental illness but I would suggest that many people think they are what they are not simply as a way of copeing or trying to live outside of the messed up life they perceive they have.
Very few people truly like the idea that they simply have a mental disorder be it depression, bi-polar or multipul personalities so they take these "odd' thoughts as proof that they are more than everyone else instead of ave or in some cases less than avg.
With that said I know a good number of people with a sound mide who consider themselves to be Vampires and or who have had paranormal experiances.
i think that every "group" has issues and those that try to claim they don't are usually the ones w/ the most bullshit going on. people just search for what makes them feel more @ ease w/ themselves or gives that sense of belonging. so, NO, i don't think there is a specific link btwn the two
there can be a link i suppose. but i dont think so. i think everyones decisions are based on what they feel is right at a certain moment in their life, whether the decision was made because of mental illness or not.
Lmao @ the picture above...
& I think people who live this lifestyle are maybe more prone to depression & such, as these are dark subjects...Thinking about it properly though I wouldnt put this lifestyle & mental illnesses together, as my friends are preppy and lead a totally different lifestyle, and they are just as depressed...
Yes that is a good picture, but illness affects everyone in the same numbers.
Even those who do not seem to be ill. Depression is a horrible thing and while the gothic subculture gets more attention for accepting people with these illnesses, I do not think that means more are in the culture.
Working with people who have mental illness issues......over the last 18 years.....i have run across MAYBE 4-5 who have vampire tendencies...
Mental illness and vampirism.....does not have a link that I can see from my experiences.
Teehee! This one is a beaut! Good subject! I have severe depression, and panic, anxiety disorder! I don't drink blood, but I do live somewhat what one would call a Vampiric lifestyle! I don't think my issues have any thing to do with it, but who knows for sure. I just like the darkness, occult, and things of that nature. I practice Witchcraft, but do not use black magick. this is definitely a topic to be pursued!
personally, i think every single person on the planet has at lest one or 2 things wrong with them in the head it just weather it's diagnosed or not is the question, but no i don't think there is a corolation
IMO...
I Think it IS possible for a person with a mental health issue to become a vampire and truly believe it.
I have encountered a person with SERIOUS mental health issues and he TRULY believed his own LIES, were the truth!!
EVEN if the evidence was right there before him!
It could go along the lines of a deep psychosis... and fantasy.. NEEDING to recognize with something for comfort and to follow, something.
So, yes I do believe there could be a link with mental illness and vampyrism.
THERE ARE however.. so Healthy minded Vampires out there also. they study vampirism.. and embrace it for the JOY it brings..
"No, crazy people don't know they're going crazy, they think they're getting saner. "
How sane is it to say you are a vampire? If you have an underlying mental illness, than this is what you have, and that is what you are. If you are a vampire, and that is it, your right as rain.
I believe that all sorts of people are potential vampires. Alot of people that have mental issues choose the vampiric way because we are accepting of people. lots of people fear us, but the lonely people love us because we are all nice (for the most part). I know lots of people that embrace the vampiric way and a lot of of them have something wrong in their head, but that's the basis to human survival. If you don't have something wrong with you than you will never survive this world.
I really dont see a connection between a type of lifestyle and mental illnesses.
I guess you can insinuate that there is a higher percentage of mentally ill and schizophrenics that are homeless but homelessness is a result of a condition and not a lifestyle choice.
I know a lot of people of otherkin who have mental illnesses, and many more who do not. Likewise with magicians and other "groups," and normal (whatever that is) people in general.
I don't think that there is a clear correlation between the lifestyle you choose or happen to have and your mental state (unless you are a serial killer or necrophiliac). However, I think that people with mental illnesses are attracted to the "dark" or different sides of life - likewise, a lot of them are also drawn to the very, very normal side of life.
It's is definitely a complicated topic, and if you need to word it differently do it such:
Are there any studies or any research out there performed on the relationship between vampires or other similar lifestyles and mental illness? What do you know about the topic, and have you had any personal experiences with this?
The forum rules are hard to learn, so I empathize. But they are just trying to do their job, so I empathize with them too.
Honestly, if someone would test all the people in the world, every one of them would most likely have some kind of mental problem...
It would be very hard, I would think, to say that just people who act the vampiric lifestyle have mental issues and only those people. Personally, I think everyone has at least one thing in their life that makes them a little bit "fudged" in the head.
I have a obsessive compulsive disorder as well as being a perfectionist... does that mean that because I have these imperfections makes me want to life the vampiric lifestyle more or less? No. I really do not think it has anything to do with either.
Pwrhaps individuals who suffer from a mental illness retreat into their own little world. Here they can conjure up a world of vampires and werewolves that medical doctors, therapists and nurses can never understand. So they become a "vampire", thinking they are special. Yet never realizing they were special before
Everyone has issues and they all take different routes to feel better and some just believe to begin with, you have to ask that is because of your issue and or problem do you join this or because you believe in it
Every socially typical group has their own issues. I do believe there are mental REASONS (not so much illnesses) in why people choose the Vampire Lifestyle. But why do people choose to live the BDSM lifestyle or any other lifestyle out there. There have to be reasons. Every person I have met, no matter what lifestyle they are in, have had some mental...defect as the shrinks and doctors call it. Just because you are interested in one lifestyle over the rest, doesn't mean that you're mentally ill or for that matter, anything truly wrong with them. I do understand where you are coming from though. I have noticed that the persons who practice that "darker" lifestyles tend to have depression, Split perononalities, OCD, and all the other good stuff. But I do not think it's right for anyone to say which lifestyle, if any have more mental illnesses connected to it. (a bit contradictory, I know)
from personnel experiences i think we are all distorted or disturbed to some sort of extent.
NO! (See, I follow rules when I feel like it. lol)
I don't believe that one has to be mentally unstable to follow the path of the kindred world. Everyone has a choice to either be or not be, and more often than not, people choose not to be. This is mainly due to peer pressure. Many people have a desire to fit in and be accepted into their social group. If one likes the dark side, then that person either chooses to follow that interest and risk losing their social group, or shunning that interest and following 'the herd'.
A wise quote I once heard goes like this: "Never follow the herd, for you never know what they leave behind!" - Anonymous. Basically this quote means, if you follow a certain group, be careful, for you might step in their crap. You should do your own thing, follow your own path.
And with many people interested in the dark side, it is only natural to conclude, for those who don't understand us, that they believe we are crazy in some certain way. For they cannot fathom our curiosity for what they call the occult, the sinister and the macabre.
I have seen some studies on this and do not believe there is a corralation in it. What might be happening is that the modern day vampires are more attuned to there surroundings and pick up the negative feelings, like an empath.
For me being an empath and vampire It is hard to sort things out from time to time when you are overloaded with peoples emotions. That is why I shield myself so that I do not get overloaded and stressed to the max. Life has enough stresses without feeling everyone else's on top of yours.
Some of the local vamps and weres here in our area suffer from depression, going from mild to major. Some here do believe it is because they are vamps or weres.
I have been treated for depression in the past... but I don’t necessary believe it is a vamp or were trait. Anyone can have these problems.
I too am a empath so it does become overwhelming sometimes, but after years of meditation I have learned to deal with it..
I heard the bathorys had a mental illness as well as Draculas line. They were fascinations with blood and scitzo....or so people say. Some people also say depression is involved.
I think you can manipulate statistics to show any group in any part of society to have a prevalent mental illness. As far as personal experience goes, if you are being true to yourself then you will be spending at least some time with others like and therefore your circle of friends will be of a similar group in society to you. Any problems that they might have would fall into that group, so it is natural you would notice it
In a way everyone has a mental illeness..no matter in waht group they are, they still have a ding ding in the head, some a small and berely there but others are bigger. At one point in their life no matter the lifestyle, path or beleif EVRYONE with no exeption has had a mental illeness ether for a moment or fomr time or forever.
I believe that 80% of earths humans are messed up, 19% are on their way & only the 1%ers are all there.
But I don't feel that vamp. lifestyle & Mental health problems are connected.
The Vampism is just escapism from the mundane modern world, a little romantic flirtation.
You always should trust your source. In my experience I have meet many more mentally inept people living a goth lifestyle, but then again when that is all you hang out with that is all you can judge so trust your sources as all representations are individual.
I wrote this in another post, but I will add it again here. I don't think there are any more people with mental illness as vampires than there are business people in the fortune 500 companies I've worked for...
I've worked for a few company presidents and chairmen.. Talk about issues...
I think it just has to do with percentages. You get a group of people together and a certain number of people are going to have a certain number of issues. It's just as simple as that. Now how people have learned to cope and hide their issues is a completely different topic..
The president and chairman may have better skills at hiding their issues so no one may know.. It just may be that simple...
ok first off mental illness has nothing to do with this life style also alot of the "mental illness" out there is just a way to get people to take pills......and yes I know what I am talking about I was on about 18 diffrent "meds" for mine come to find out there is nothing wrong with me that some self control, change in diet could not fix....sorry lost my point for a second I just don't like doctors who lable you with something then dump meds down you throat
"yawn" I don't know if this occured to anyone but I think that anyone who devotes their lives into sticking their nose where it doesn't belong is the one with the mental illness.
What business is it How anyone lives their lives?
Honestly, I think that about 89% of every person on this planet can be diagnosed with at least one mental illness. This is why psychiatrists make decent money. If you've ever had a bad day, you could probably be diagnosed with depression or at least an anger issue. I have been around several people with severe illnesses and none of them live a vampiric lifestyle. I, for one, have a happy life. No depression, no voices in my head, no anger issues, no mood swings, no tendencies, nothing that I can think of.
then again most day walkers have mental illnesses (thats what i call people who live a 9-5 lifestyle)... I mean wouldnt you? All work and no play. Thats a tall order, a little craziness couldnt hurt.
I believe it's the governments way of saying "we dont like how you act in america, so you have a mental illness"
I believe VERY few people in this world have a sure-fire disease of a mental disorder
I don't thik there is a direct link to mental illness and ANY kind of vampirism..
I think that all people are equally messed up in the head, but other groups try to hide there insanities, while we tend to be more open. Im bipolar, have ocd, and anxiety disorder, and don't really care if others know it. Now if your a prep, others having knowledge of that might effect their opinion of you-and wouldn't that be sad. . . Being in the group that we are fortunate enough to have, people are very supportive of there friends despete little things like that, so we don't have to hide our "flaws" as some would call it.
i don't think there is such a thing as a mental illness. there are simply different types of minds. everyone's mind is different and i think we work to classify them in any way possible.
i suppose it depends on what you define as a mental illness. everything from PMT to smoking has been described as a mental illness at some point. some would say that having a fetish for blood - or believing you need blood, is in itself a mental illness. to someone who is a pragmatist and does not believe in vampires, anyone who does believe they are one is in their eyes delusional. its a pretty much open ended question really. i wouldnt go there if i were you.
For a long time I believed NO that a "gothic lifestyle" ment nothing to the personality. Im a happy go lucky person and I have love vampires and everything to do with them since grade 7 ( Im 20). But recently, I was examined (origninally for stress) and now turns out theres alot metally wrong with me. Does that mean it has something to do with the lifestyle, I thinnk theres a chance but I believe in more of my biology and interactions. Considering most of my family and friends are "normal" I think the connection between the two is slim.
I agree with LuciferRising and Karnstein.
Insanity- people don't know they are going insane or ARE insane.. they actually think everyone else, IS!!!
if you look and behave "normal", you are perceived as "normal" - whether you are or not. if you look or behave different or out of the ordinary, people look closer and strive to find fault.
yes every one is crazy
today if we want to get out of some thing we give are self a scape goat not my fault im a.dhd im bipoler i had no idea that i was doing anything wrong bla bla bla
tough question.........i think that anybody and everybody has something "wrong" with thier mind or mental status......i found out "for me anyway" that it wasn't the life i'm living that's making me act the way i act......it's the choices "in" the life i'm living making me that way. hope that gave u somethin 2 think on....:)
In todays day and age, everyone has something wrong with them. It is very hard to find someone that does not have some problem with them, whether it's diagnosed or not. I don't believ this has anything to do with vampires. I think people chose their lifestyles on their own free will, not because of a "disability".
Mental illness can be found in any lifestyle, i dont think the vampire lifestyle has more people with mental illness than any other lifestyle...
Karnstein has a very good point there- and I suppose to a certain extent that stereotypes of many different out-groups would put different spin on things.
To me, it makes sence that those who are depressed would find identificatio in depressing or angry music, and this is what can often lead to a path in "lifestyle." However, I do not want to go into detail here as I do not believe that a way of life should be your soul means of identification- there are a lot fo other sides to everyone, and they need to be embraced, rather than trying to link mental illness to a single step you take.
That's funny, about 80% of the people I know who don't live the vampire lifestyle have some kind of mental illness.
I personally would not connect the vampire lifestyle and mental illnesses together. I know plenty of perfectly normal people who can be found within the lifestyle. And, I have also found this popular among some of the younger scensters, just saying that they have some form of a mental disorder. That in itself is a bit messed up, but they do do it. But, you can find people with disorders in any lifestyle, not just this or that one.
has there been a proper survey? is this 80% an exact statistic, or just a ballpark figure? whenever people try to make an unsubstantiated claim using statistics and percentages, they usually state 80%. nobody ever tries to prove a point by saying 63.7 %. though i often state the figure of 99.9 % when i am bullshitting. statistically though, most people will state 80% when bullshitting. interestingly, there is research that backs up that statistic!
I dont think it has anything to do with the lifestlye u live. Menatal illness can be found anywhere
personally I think that mental illness is everywhere no matter what you social status is
Karnstein, is there any of this information on the internet that you know of?
I have seen a few posts about how there is no mental illness in the world. There really is mental illnesses in the world. We really need to reconize some of them so we can treat it. Everyone, including vamps, have a problem to some degree. It is at what level of degree that this problem becomes a social menance or a personal threat that treatment should be sought. Don't assume that all people that are different, aren't that, different and able to think in very unique ways. Some of those ways is very dangerous to their own welfare.
Here's a quote from Mark Twain that I like "There are lies, damn lies and then there's statistics". The point is you can make statistics say anything that you want. If there is any group of people that really has a significantly higher number of people with mental illness I would probably have to say it would be soldiers that go to war another might be long term homeless people. I don't have any statistics to back that up it's just my opinion.
*hmmmm* Lets see here where to start without sounding cold about it. *blurts my opinion out * Ok here goes for 1 I know many that are vampyres and many that are not on both the with mental illness and without it. I would have to say that mental illness isnt a factor.
At the risk of being seen as unkind, (some risk there!) but in the spirit of debate, I have to take issue with the premise.
Your observational, empirical evidence isn't enough for me to find a correlation between mental illness and vampirism. That 80% of vampires you know could represent a very small number must be taken into account, especially against an entire population.
Mental illness strikes EVERY walk. Name a profession or way of life, and I will show you people who have some form of mental illness. I'd like to see real statistics before I unfairly malign a group.
Personally I beleive that everyone chooses to live their own lifetyles the way the choose So in turn i beleive it the individual makes the choises that either a vampire lifestyle or mental illness shows up in their own life.
People in all walks of life suffer from mental illnesses. Who the hell determined what is normal anyway?
Everyone chooses their lifestyle from personal feelings, likes, dislikes - whatever feels right for them
Hell - I work with lawyers and they are supposedly "normal" guess what? Still have some mental ones.
Hummm...amazing subject! as a student psychiatic nurse.. i must confess to hav some menatl health problems myself! I do not how ever believe that vampirism and mental health problems are linked. Working in an institute has taught me that not all mental health problems can be bundled together, there are varying degrees of problems. How ever in saying that, a person with depressive mental health problems tends to linger on the dark side of his/her thoughts. These thuoghts range from seeing everything in a dark way(the glass is half empty, if you will) to constantly thinking of death, blood, slf-harming and such. (I am in no way stereotyping by the way just recording from my own observations!) These thought and/or tendencies are judged to be unnatural(by so called "normal" people) this is simply because they feel uncomfortable with these thoughts themselves. A person who has these dark thoughts will tend to gravitate towards others who share their thoughts in order to feel at accepted, in this way you can see how goups can recieve a stigma for being a certain way, everyone wants to be accepted and understood on some level so why not try to find those that are similar to you in thoughts?! I am not saying This IS the way of things but merely what i have seen and the conclusions i myself have drawn.
I have suffered from anxiety and depression for a large amount of my life, but as I am much better now I must say that I do not think that any of my mental illnesses of the past are linked to my vampyric tendencies. Infact, i found a certain release from the pressures of ordinary life thanks to my vampyric tendencies.
It is a well known fact that in the UK we have a very high population of people who are either anxious, depressed or in a very poor mental state. I cannot for one second believe that all of these people are vampyr or even have vampyric tendencies. I am sure that many other countries also have similar problems....I know for a fact that america has a problem with the amount of people who have some kind of mental health issue (no disrespect intended) and the sheer numbers of psychiatrists (generally known in america as shrinks) is extremely high in america.
M
i think a vampire can have mental illinesses just as much as non vampires
The mind is so complex , and misunderstood . If modern phsycology cant explain it , your mentally ill . Then on top of it , you get to pay for someone elses opinion on who u are? *BS alarm ringing* ...If people would quiet down , and listen to themselves . Not the masses around them, they would know who they are . Certainly have a better chance of finding out .
I don't think both things are related, and I don't think this is a lifestyle. I have found people here who has proven to me that we are more than a lifestyle... we are people with most things in common and no one of my friends here seems to have mental problems... I think that all that stuff like depressions, stress and other mental problems are a consequence of the world we are living in... not necessary related to being a vampire ... ***shrug***
There no such thing as being as they say "Normnal" We are all fucked up in our own little way . Most people are just afraid of admitting it . And we aren't . So people tell us that theres something wrong with us . I feel that we a re just more enlightened then the majority of people out there . We know that the world sucks . They want to forget about it .

i feel everyone on this sucky planet has some sort of mental illness, of corse ones is worse or less then the other. and no matter the lifestyles it doesnt matter there just may a little more to it or less
Everyone has some sort of mental issues and anguish, they've just to be diagnosed.
It is very possible that it is connected. Last july I was admitted to a psychiatric facility and diagnosed with "low grade" schizophrenia... And I am very into the gothic/vampiric lifestyle.
Also, I've been reading about a lot of modern day vampires/blood drinkers, and a large majority of them have the fact that they had terrible childhoods. Could this have anything to do with their blood drinking, maybe?
Mental illness doesnt choose ppl. Anyone can have it, and it does effect their lifestyle but not necassarily in that way.
I know a large percentage of ppl who are either Gay or Lesbian who have been molested or abused in some way....that doesnt mean their sexual orientation and lifestyle decisions came from their experience.
A lifestyle decision like vampirism stems more from who you are, not what you have.
You make a good point, singingghost, but how do you know for a fact that their sexual orientation was not affected AT ALL by their abusive experiences? Many people will tell you that they did not choose their sexuality. Just like many people with the desire to drink blood do not choose to want it, it's just there. Most mental illness is an inherited trait. I have learned this through lots of research. So, how do you know that the embedded mental illness had nothing to so with the desire to taste blood?
I know exactally what I am saying, I'm just not sure it transfered through the keyboard quite so well. lol
True artists are also rare in the general population. They have compulsions to create, to satisfy some need that nothing else fills. Perhaps a genetic trait they inherited makes them desire to lift a brush, dip it in paint and guide it across canvass. Hey! There have been some documented mentally ill artists. I'll bet artists are mentally ill.
I'm being purposefully absurd in order to make a point. If you walk into corporate America and ask for a hand count of who is on Xanax, Prozac, AdHd meds, countless anti-depressants, etc... and people responded honestly, you wouldn't need struts to hold up the roof.
I do not know that the statistics are higher among Vampires and none of us will unless there is a reliable study done. Until then, it's just groundless presumption.
Well, the only point I'm making is that no one can dismiss a thoery like that until a propper medical study is made. I'm not all-knowing, I just think that people should not dismiss such a theory so quickly.
I wasnt dismissing the theory, just looking at it from a different perspective. I totally get where you're coming from...I was just thinking out loud :P
I like the taste of blood. I dont think that I am mental because I feel like I am sane and rash. Please dont down me for who I think or what I am. Its just part of me. I know right and wrong and also I wouldnt kill anyone for their blood or harm any animals to obtain it.
Well, I'm certianly not saying that anyone is "mental" for liking the taste of blood, but ever thought of why you like something that so many other people have such a disgust for, or something that makes other people queasy to even look at?
