I was curiouse to know how it could be explained, if vampires and werwolves and things are real, then why do those we love and who are closest to us die. I thought vampires were immortas and lycans are the day protectors of them. Then why do we all die?

I agree. This is mostlt for fun, though there are some people out there that have their own religion. You cant knock the for being different. This is what makes most people happy, being able to put the real world in your back pocket and being able to let your imagination run wild.

I agree, But I sure wish that we could become immortal; Unless their are ones whom r immortal but they dont show it or come out and tell anyone (obviously y would they, they would hve everyone all over them asking them to bite them or make them immprtal.).

well i think that we are immortal just not in the way we all think we are. what if we are immortal in the way that our soul comes back but in different bodies or something like that.

Immortality sure sound good. And who knows with all the advancements in medical science these days. We could be heading towards a time where we can living forever. I like to be immortal, but I don't thing I will ever see the day that I can become it.

Same here, yet I wish If we were reincarnated (Kinda, Like wat BlackOblivion kinda refered too) we would remember it.

We could stop for one second and look at the possibility... that death is an evolution.We move on from one stage of life into the next stonger with more knowledge and strength then the time before.Or we can see death as a final end of our existance.And I think immortallity can be concieved as just a mask used to confuse those who do not understand the concept.All these things in concideration you must choose for yourself what you believe.

My father died a couple years back and I do tend to think that there's more after this life. I would be a shame if it al ends when you die.

Personally, I think the spirits linger for awhile until there last task/wish is done then move on, and wait in eathier Heaven or Hell or in Between, then they move on to start another life form. But If thats wat does happen then I wish I remember wat happened in my other past lifes.

Reincarnation is a wonderful idea and I do thing that there's some truth in it. And as for remembering past lives, it would make your current life a whole lot easier or harder.

LOL same here, I hate surprises and not knowing everything. But at any rate curiosity killed the cat, good thing the cat had 9 lives well it would be shorter after it died.

I believe the immortality is a myth. The the soul is the only part of us that is immortal and continues to develop and grow until it can move to the higher planes and the next stage of development.

Everyone has there own idea or thought on it. If we all had the same idea. The world would me a boring place.
And it's never easy already knowing.

Reincarnation is a comon belief in most religions even the Christian one. They just don't admit it. Death is just the end of one chapter in our spiritual growth. Cancer has an article on it in the member articles section. It gives a good background.

Again, someone is focusing on the Hollywood fiction aspect of a vampire. There are many who live the vampire lifestyle, but I seriously doubt anyone of them are immorta.

Not every living thing is a vampire or lycan. We are humans, vampires or lycans, yes. I have a friend who is a werewolf, and a couple of friends who are vampires. Yet, not all of us are vampiric or a lycan. We either live or we die and those who live are either in hiding or something similar. I have heard that lycans hide a lot. Not that that's confirmed. It's just a rumor I've heard. Though vampires do only come out at night. So, most of us do die.

death is part of life, and even if vampires and lycans are consider immortals it is not possible, they are able to die but are still there in essence, and spirits, the rest is not immortal, the rest is volatile.

The whole immortal Vampie/Lycan thing is hollywood with a smal base in some old traditions.

However when you look at it, both scientifically and religiously we never truly die. Our souls are preserved and our energy never disappears.

On the scale of millions of years it is theroized that we will one day lose th need for a body and simply evolve into pure energy.

Dying is not a true death, but a passage into another life. Why I am saying this is because if you look back into the Hindu religion you as the Being can come back as a different form, not necessarily as a human. Yet having lived before, you bring forward much of your past experience, which may manifest itself in present time.

I believe we all pass on to the next level of progression(reincarnation). I think that it is all a cycle life, and death. We must get rid of the old to bring in the new life. To lay a foundation of constant change, and upgrading. We all pass on someday. Even Jesus had to go.~NFA

We are vampires in that we feed off others blood or life force but the movies have made a claim that real life cannot duplicate we are ageless as those who are on the silver screen...

I don't think there is anything that can make you immortal that is a fiction made up by hollywood. I do however believe that the soul lives on and can be reincarnated into a new body and new life

I don't think Hollywood ever really made an immortal vampire - most of them got killed and died in the end.

Some vampires of myth were dead people come back to life so, as they were already dead they couldn't die again, and must be thought of as immortal.

The folk living the modern vampire lifestyle, which sometimes is based on the Hollywood vampire, are mortal.

I don't think that immortality through reincarnation is unqiue to the people living a vampire lifestyle. If you go by that way of thinking, everyone is immortal, and the word 'death' can be discontinued.

As I have said before, with literal immortality of the body, there would have to be invulnerability to age and injury. Imagine living in a decomposing body of a 200 year old and knowing its gonna get worse forever

Well, it's just a simple fact that everything and everyone must die, and even if we didn't, in my opinion, immortality would get very depressing, I for one don't want to stay forever.

... but it makes you wonder if a vampire is immortal through reincarnation (as many here will argue) then vampires have to die in order to be reborn and be immortal

Ok, theres a couple points I'm going to cover here. First off, the fairy tale "live forever" vampire never existed and never will. We are all born on this earth, and we will all die on this earth, BUT another concept I would like to bring up is what if there was no such thing as death really?

Yes, our bodies may die, but I believe our soul lives on. There is no such thing as creating energy and there is no such thing as destroying or losing energy, all you can do is simply manipulate it. Our souls, our ethric, is just energy, so even after our bodies die we live on. So is there really such thing as a "true death?" I don't think so.

maybe immortality is something to aim for.. but just not in this lifetime.. and in ways.. we can be immortal if we leave behind a worthy legacy.

but i agree with all.. immortality.. to see the world age.. and you stand still while it all flashes before you... it would be nice to see how this all ends

im with starz on this one reincarnation is how it works the spirt is doomed to be on the planet forever when the body dies it is born again in another body

i would say that man exist on earth, and have a choice to live or die.

I think that our spirits come back in another form after we die...I believe that our spirits are on a continuous journey of learning and self discovery...

with out death then there would be too many humands and thing on the earth taking up to much room and thing need to die to be reborn, so they can have a fresh start

Think about it, if you had a choice, would you really choose to never die? To never continue on to see what is really out there?

I wouldn't mind knowing. That could give you an idea on how long you still have. So you can live those remaining days to the fullest.

But then you should live every day to the fullest. You never know what might happen in a couple of hours. You could walk onto the street and get hit by a car.

The idea of immortality was conceived because people always have been and always will be afraid to die, unless ofcourse they've been brainwashed by zelots of one type or another. From the day we are born we are dying. The only living cells you can see on a person are thier eyes. The soul may or may not be immortal I would like to believe it is but until we die we won't know for certain. As for reincarnation I ahd heard somewhere (mind you I dont know if this is true) that there was a study done at some point that there is supposedly the exact same amount of life at any given point in time on the earth just in different forms. For example in the past there were more animals and less humans now there's more humans and less animals.

The types you speak of are from old horror movies and myths my friend.I believe our souls to be immortal but not the body.And all bodies do wear out after so many years.

Nothing is forever. I think that Vampires live longer lives than most, but not centuries. I mean logically, you age to a certain point and then stop? I don't think so. A centuries old Vamp would look like an apple left out in the sun for a couple of weeks.

i think that we are all immortal. People are remembered in a family almost always. I also think that our bodies are just a resting place for our spirits. I believe that when the spirit has used up the body that we leave said body and travel to another one. So when a loved one dies its only the body the spirit lives forever.

Because my friend this is not the movies and as with all things death brings renewal and life.

I don't think we truly Die either but I like to think reincarnation is a true fact seeing as I get feelings from people I meet whom I've interacted with before in another time...... I'm still discovering my past lives but in a sense that is "immortality"

A friend told me that when the host body dies, then you move on to another host body. And how do we know that vampires die?

Immortality is a myth,
It is Energy we are pulled toward's.
We are born to Die but the soul live's on.

It's been said many times that immortality is impossible; perhaps. I'll say it's improbable. None of us know it's impossible - we're neither the creators nor controllers of life and death.

As for reincarnation; it also is probable. I believe in reincarnation myself, even without past life memories, but that doesn't make it an absolute certainty.

I've always loved how a personal opinion can be laid down in a forum as if it's an absolute fact.

Believe in something hard enough and it will become reality for that person.

i somewhat agree with BLACKOBLIVION. i believe that we are immortal, but in the sense ov our souls being immortal, not our bodies. however where i differ from BLACKOBLIVION is i believe that our soul travels through many realms, not necessarily back to this same one in different forms.

In my opinion immortality is an impossibility, it's against nature to survive death. It is an interesting idea though and Vampires become even more mysterious because they are in fact immortal... In myth, that is.

I believe it's wrong to even experiment with these ideas, we should just let nature have its course... Just look at what happend to Frankenstein in Mary Shelleys book, this topic was discussed even back in those days and I think it has a clear message urging us not to let science make us think we're invincible.

Then I don't really believe that you die, the body does but not the soul. The soul lives on in one way or another, perhaps it does reincarnate into another being, who knows?

The soul is immortal. Not the body. At least that is what I think.

immortality, rencarnation, life, death, it is all a vicious circle of views, opinions and such who really knows any of it really. someone may say they are immortal. But what really is immortallity, a long life but evidently everything can be killed in some way or another. nothing lives for ever but some things can live a damn long time.

We all die sooner or later. Some just might live longer then others. I think.

because we have a mortal shell, our body ages faster than our mind. I think thats the only thing thats holding us back, our bodies break easily too easily it ages and wrinkles, becomes less hardened, even bones begin to break down and soften. But saying that, what makes us think that mentally we are ready for immortality, some people can't even make it through one short lifespan, were we built to be immortal is the secret inside our minds, we only use 10% at the most, of our brains, we could be capable of many things including cell regeneration...

i believe we are all imortal beings and do live forever but not in the same existing shell...i believe we cycle through different forms and shapes gaining newer experiences in each life we live even though we may not recall them i still believe that there is a facet of imortality set upon us...and to die is to live agian in another world.

I agree with all those that said our souls live on forever but our physical body does not. I just don't think immortality here on Earth is possible.

I think being immortal in body, would most definatly have its advantages , it is fun to think about. Alas , no luck there life itself is random , best just roll with it and enjoy it. After we pass it is hard to say for sure what will happen , I guess we will all cross that bridge when the time comes.

To be immortal in body would be a dream come true. We are immortal only through spirit. We keep those we love close to us at all times. We share life together in many differnt forms. They are never truly lost to us.

Vampires and Werewolves can live for a long time. However, being immortal does exist if you know names like Mozart, Jimi Hendrix, Alexander the Great, Bram Stroker, Mary Shelley, Jack The Ripper, Dimebag Darrell and so on. People who have done something in history to be a major part of it can live forever. Immortality does exist there, but as for life. Our bodies just die so we can go on to the next thing in life. Death then see what happens from there on out.

i belive nothing is imortial bc all life must come to and end some time or another... just to say we will never reach that point to where we decover imortialty for the fack that our sun will not last that long for us to reach that tec. unless we get some kind of help from some where. if there is life out there besides us i belive there is but that just me.

I believe when you die...if you are "sentenced to hell" then you become immortal, and are on this earth for eternity...but, thats just my belief

i know how i will die - and it is a comfort. but i really hope that is not the end. to live for just a few short hectic decades - to struggle and suffer, and for what? if we just end and cease to exist, then what is the point? what is it all for? is life meaningless?
