Throughout this forum topic, references are made to "fallen angels," "scapegoat," "hell," and "vampire." All of these references are inherently linked and the same single origin, as does the entire "Devil" concept: the legends of the "Watchers" or, if you prefer the less-accurate yet more well-known appellation, "Fallen Angels."
As first recorded in Hebrew history ca. 1500 BCE, though the original Sumerian accounts predate this by at least another 1,500 years, after the 200 "Fallen Angels" has taught Humankind all they needed to establish civilization, they had also shared with them their highly unique sexuality and married several of their women. This, for whatever reason, the ancient Hebrews could not permit and so used the very metalworking skills taught them to make weapons of war with which they then slaughtered as many of the families of the "Fallen Angels" as they could. And ever since, the story was embellished to have it appear that God punished them by imprisoning the "Fallen Angels" underground in a place of fire and torment forever reputed to exist beneath a deep valley near the Dead Sea. This was the birth of the concept of Hell.
The leader of the Fallen Angels, Azazel, was only later vilified as "Satan," himself, who reigned over the "Fallen Angels" who remained in "Hell." Hence, the origins of that myth, too.
Annually, the Priests of Judaism would engage in a public rite in which two goats were sacrified: one, for Jehovah, and the other, named "Azazel," had tied to him a red thread or ribbon representing all the sins of Israel. The "Azazel" goat (yep... the literal and original "scape goat") was then led into the wilderness to a high cliff where, after much ceremony, the Azazel goat was bodily thrown off the cliff and minutely monitored by priests stationed at points along the goat's fall to ensure that the goat arrived dead at the bottom of the cliff (reminiscent of Azazel's supposed "fall" from heaven). Only after the goat was confirmed dead would the priests communicate this fact back to the populace at Jerusalem via signal flags at stations along the route back to the city. Only then would all their collective sins be considered forgiven and the celebration would commence.
Thus... most ironic of all... the very idea and concept of a Savior of Mankind, of "Jesus" himself, had its origin also in the "Fallen Angels" and in particular, their leader Azazel... the first actual "Savior."
And yes... as discussed at length at My profile and journal articles... the "Fallen Angels" and their highly unique sexuality was passed down through their progeny until in Eastern Europe, the Christians discovered them and, as in the days of their original fathers, vilified them as evil, as "fallen," and as being damned. However unlike their fathers accused of voracious hunger for any and all flesh, their Common Era descendants were similarly vilified as possessing a voracious thirst for blood. Of course as the original accounts in both cases strongly indicate, their actual "hunger" and "thirst" was most certainly not for flesh or blood at all... but for endless sexual communion with females. Thus, in addition to being the true source of the legends of both "Satan" and "Jesus," this angelic progeny is also the true and only source of the very legends we have today of the "Vampire."
