i believe that ghost get stuck in between because they have unfinished business that they have to take care of or they just dont realize that they are dead. yes i do believe in ghost and what you posted.

I believe that a ghost can be the soul of someone who died in a tragic way and is stuck not knowing what is going on. I also however think some ghosts might be souls who choose not to pass on. They turn away from the light so to speak because they do not want to move on. Also it could be there is something in their earthly life that feel they did not complete, so before they cross over they need to fix something.. But that is just opinion...

I believe that ghosts stay here is because alot of them don't want to pass on or that some of them want a loved one to know that they are okay.

I do believe in ghosts, I think that most of them get stuck here for a number a reasons. One being that they have died a tragic death, or because they feel they need to stay behind to be here in some form for thier loved ones, sometimes I think they just choose to stay. I do think that they know they are dead though. I have a hard time believing that they wouldn't know.

I think there are many reasons why ghosts are here. Some because of a traumatic event others because they don't want to leave a loved one just yet, still others who want to stay around to protect those that are close to them. Some I do think don't realize they are dead because of the possibility that it is like living in another dimension where we would seem like the ghosts to them. Some ghosts are just here on visitations to be able to come back once in a while to check up on things.

I don't believe time exists after death, or if it does...it is much slower. I believe ghosts are an echo of the live that was once there. I say this because most ghost tend to do the same things and go the same places that they did in live, over and over again. I see this much like a skipping record. The more violently you are ripped from the mortal coil, the more "noise", thus, the echo is stronger.

I believe in the existence of realities beyond intellectual understanding...

In my opinion, there are different aspects of a "ghost" I prefer the term spirit....

1.) I dont think that there has to be trauma for a person to become a ghost... I think that it is possible for the person to pass on and just not realize they have.

2.) I think that when we die if we dont move straight away to our next life we are spirits that remain here.

Im sure I could give more theories, but as I am pressed for time, that is the best I can do now....

How can anyone really claim to be a ghost expert? or to know what, why and how ghosts came into being? if ghosts are stuck here, where are they going or supposed to be? when that can be answered definitively then the notion of being trapped here as opposed to there starts to have some plausibility....

Also you're assuming that they're actually trapped. Like someone said above I think the term "spirit" is a better referral. Ghost has such negative connotations. Also, some spirits may elect to remain on or come to this plane in order to perform some sort of function that is important to them. To be a guide for example, or a protector. For those spirits, it is not a question of "moving on", as they have made their decision and are staying here for the meantime - there is no "white light" or whatever for them to go to as their job for now is right here.

well I am not sure about Ghost yet I feel a persons spitir gets stuck at times because they are not ready to leave, or unfinshed business, even because they want to be near their loved ones and protect them.

There are so many different views on this it would be hard to just pin point one in my opinion.

well i think when ghost do stay it means they either want something or really dont realize they are dead. in some cases they need u to help them move on or have a message for u and u just arent hearing it.

How does anybody know if a ghost is truely stuck or not, i mean a ghost might want to be where it is, just because people say ghosts are stuck in a different realm does not mean that they are...

I think they are left behind because something that wasnt finished in their lives wasnt finished and they turn into a ghost form until someone else can come around and finish their job for them.

I know ghosts or spirts are real as i've seen them as for why we can occasionaly see them. it could be for nay number of reasons, the person doing the seeing is a sensitive/medium, the spirts has unfinished business and wants to make sure it's completed, perhaps revenge if he/she was murdered and they want justice etc There are a lot more but i'm too tired to re-count them all!!

Ghosts are basically Lost Souls or those who have not/do not wish to move on. There are also several different types. Personally I believe that most become stuck because of something that happened during their life, be it traumatic or loving.

I believe that they do not move on because they have unfinished business. They feel they need to right a wrong, or want to let a loved on know they are ok, etc

in my eyes, a ghost can be of a persons soul, or an animals soul being released to the otherside

I believe that ghosts perhaps are stuck in our world but they might not know it.

If there is such a thing a ghost stuck,than it gotta be that this stucker has somin he never fulfilled, so strong is the wish, that it is keeping him on this world, paining wheeping, echoing....

i believe it depends on the situat
ion of how, when and why they passed away.
The stories of mbr's of a family passing away
and being seen by other mbr's of the family doing what they were doing has been
passed down through history.
As to how well that will al
ways be unknown til we become more accustomed and believe in the after life I
guess. But to help explain it in some way there has also been stories of
people who have lost a limb and have been able to do something with that m
issing limb (straight after the event of loosing it). I have heard of ppl in vehicle accidents getting away when lost
both legs or arms, ppl in war been able to run for miles with a missing leg,
and when asked how they have no idea they just did it. This could be
the same thing with ghost, they just dont know how and the missing limb is their life

There are three types of entities....

Spirit, Ghost, and Soul....

Each of these three are actually something different....

A spirit follows... they try to get out attention... and they are the ones that are stuck here... They are usually the ones that need our help the most, it can be for many reasons... one of which being that they just do not know how to get to the other realm.....

A Ghost is best described as of time and place...... they do not realize they are dead..... so they keep living life just as it was to them.... hence why if they are in a house.... and someone moves in they get upset because its trespassing to them....

A soul is someone that is not dead.... it could be someone in a coma or even in astral travels....

Ghosts, from what I can tell, get stuck here by something that holds them back. Unfinished business or something they sense coming up that could possibly deal with them.

I believe like many of the others do that they can get stuck between planes , eiter due to tragic death or they feel they have unfinished bussiness..but then again I feel that they are stuck between planes due to not knowing they are dead.

I feel there are several reasons for someone whom has passed is still here as a ghost/or spirit
they may not realize they are even dead, they may have unfinished business here on heart and it has them earth bound as it were. Even just wanting to be close to their loved ones is a possiblity also

The ghosts that people say are stuck here may have unfinished buisness, or maybe the ghost is reviewing ist life before it is reincarnated, but i do not think that ghost are places that they do not want to be at...

i believe ghosts know they have passed away, yet are unaware of how to pass to the next level. For example: building our profiles, if you do not know how to achieve updates to your profile you are trapped until you can learn.

Your question makes me think of the movie "Casper". Bill Pullman's character says a ghost has unfinished business, that is why it doesn't move on to the next level. I tend to believe that theory more than any other.

Lesava I agree I really think many have unfinished things they left behind.. In order to see the light they need to have closure.

I kind of see being earth-bound as a sort of punishment for any wrong doings in life....or that perhaps that the soul was unwilling to leave our world for whatever reasons, such as the popular "unfinished business" belief or that the soul simply wished to remain and not leave, or perhaps not shown the way to the next world and need help.

I think ghost that get stuck get stuck because they are needed....yes some dont know they are dead but they eventually pass to the other side whenever everything is ok
some ghosts who are still here because of a tramatic existance are here until there soul can be at rest when there death is discovered by the living

I believe that energy is around us at all times, having said that I also beleive that this energy can and does initiate things to happen. One reason a ghost or rather a spirit manifestaion occurs is due to some unfinished business or as you stated a violent wrongful death. I bellieve that there are many types of manifestations and not all are ghostly, but someimes pictures of the energy stuck in a loop. This sounds nuts I know but it is difficult to explain I guess. Having said that I believe ghosts do exist. the reasons they don't know they are dead has to be attributable to an untimely ending.

I actually believe the article, Thats what I have always heard. So its what I tend to believe.

I would say that many of them know they are stuck, hence all the reports of ghosts seeking help to do things like catch their killers.

I would say that it was such things as the severity of the trauma during death, feelings of extremely strong love for another, or felings of obligation that might be holding some here.

Remember, emotions like love, and extreme terror or pain, and even feelings of obligation can be quite strong for some. I know if I passed before my wife that I would strive to hang around to make sure She's safe. It's a very basic instinct, and thereby possibly stronger.

Guilt could be another culprit. The need to make restitution for some crime, whether real or imagined, committed by the deceased.

My only hope is that they are eventually able to find Their way Home.

My personal belief is that ghosts are not just caused my tramatic experiances. Sometimes it can be a person who has passed away, but they do not feel they can move on. Sometimes they have the need to watchover their loved ones, or to say good bye. Some just have unfinished business and can't cross over until it is completed.

Ghosts generally hang on to the physical world because of unfinished business or because their death was surprise. Most people are aware on some level that death is coming - so it rarely a surprise when it happens...but some people never get the message and when death does happen it is a shock and they don't accept it....hence the result is haunting.

i think the get "lost" between planes, not STUCK. though ghosts havent finished what they have done on this plane, they can still partially influence events. but only if when they talk to us we listen, most people see ghosts and think WHOA.. im outta here. ive seen many a ghost and have communicated with a few. ghosts arent really scary, they are just misunderstood(like teenagers) and just need someone to "talk" to sometime just so that other people may know what they havent done in our world and help this spirit pass into the next plane of existence.

I agree with a lot of the following post . Yes some are stuck because they have unfinished business but also some don't realize that they are gone and need to be talked into going to the light . Some also just like it here and they could get attached to a person , place , or object and just don't want to move on , I have come across a lot of these kind of Spirits they just want to stay in our world .
Then you have your angry Spirits who just want to stay because they don't like the fact that they are dead cause they died before their time . These are the ones I hate coming across.

i agree with DarkGypsey. I had my grandma tell me see has seen a ghost and had one living in her house. i aslo had one in my house growing up. we believed it was my moms mom looking over us.

I don't believe the spirits or souls of people linger on after death.

I think it occurs because of a couple diffrent reasons:
1. The soul still believes it is alive or has the ability to enter back into its previous physical form.
2. The soul has something holding it back from moving on, whether it be a realization or act that must occur.
3. The soul has stayed to protect something that it feels is more important than moving on.

I cant say for sure that these are 100% true but its my opinion on the matter.

I believe that all beings become ghosts. When someone dies their soul is release from the physical body and until the soul returns to another state of existance, it wanders as a ghost...

Some spirits do get "stuck" so to speak. A trauma leading to death can confuse them.. imagine your alive riding in your car one moment and the next your in your spirit form... for people that were expecting death to be the end.. this can be very confusing I would think.

They can also elect to remain here for what ever reason they wish.. fear of the next stop for them.. watching over family.. unfinished business etc.

But the spirits I know or should say have delt with most are not stuck at all.. they freely move from here to their next word or stop on the journey.

I do believ in ghost. I believe that some ghost where not able to finish what they were born to do and are stuck on earth till they find a way to compleat their task. Other times I believe that the ghost does not know they are dead. And than there are some who whatch over friends and family do to dramatic experiance of what is going on. So it realy depends.

aother theory is that ghosts are signatures of imprinted energies, not the actualy soul but just a recorded image that plays back over and over, doing seemingly nonsensical tasks

ok i do see to a point about ghosts being trapped, why dont they really let us see them to a point of us not being so curious of them or if we know forsure that its a real ghost ? i mean some people see ghosts and know when they see it, some see it well think they see it i just dont understand why they dont make them selves more viewable and react differently

well not everyone is going to believe in ghost. but i had felt my grandmas spirit in the house i grew up in. she had made the radio turn on and woke us all up in the house and started to bang the pots and pans we had hanging.. but like i said not everyone believes in ghost.

My only thinking here is maybe they just don't know that they are stuck. Kinda like the sixth sense. I personally do not believe in ghosts, but I am not discounting them as evidence I recently have been dealing with in my home...lol. Startgint to think that perhaps there is more to the story that at first appears.

i think that if a person dies prematurely or violently then they do not pass on... there are just too many unresolved issues...

Sometimes when people pass on they are not ready to leave this earthly plane...be it because they were taken by violence or that the person does not want to leave...or worries about...loved ones...such as children, parents, siblings etc...these strong emotional ties keep them anchored here...

I personally have never experienced anything with ghosts. I have never seen a ghost nor have I seen indisputable proof of ghosts. I think it would be hard to come up with anything other than just pure speculation to answer your questions. Since there is no real proof that ghosts even exist how would we know why they are here. A veteran ghost hunter could say that it is because of a trauma a the time of death. Someone else could say it was because the person never learned how to swim as a child. The fact is nobody knows the answers to your questions.

Perhaps the reason they don't know they're dead is because after the body dies and the spirit dissipates into its surroundings, there is no way to maintain our ego - our idea of self. They don't know who or what they are let alone know their body is dead.

Ghosts being once human and or alive have the ability to when the periods of time occur that the worlds slide closer together their actions become visible to us on this plane. We may be the ghosts to them, even though they are dead. Those interactions between this world and the other worlds inhabitants rarely interact they are what they are, good to use for other things if you have the opertunity to slave them to your purposes then do it. They lost the right to have purpose if they are a ghost, lost between times so they might as well be put to use.

For me I believe they are still tied to out world because they have unfinished business to care for before they can completely cross to the next.

I also believe that ghosts are those that have failed to cross over to the other side. It may be because they have unfinished business, or they died in a sudden, tragic way. I have also heard that ghosts may stay on this earthly realm to console mourning relatives. The pain that their relatives feel from the loss may keep them earthbound.

Yes, I have heard of ghost reincarnation, to an extent. I have heard that some ghosts choose certain people, for whatever reason, as possible parents to be born through them. Some cultures refer to these ghosts as "muertos." I believe Haitians use this term to describe ghosts who do this.

Ghosts is a huge topic... My beliefs are very similar to the googled site's. I'll answer one question quickly though.

A sudden car accident, a penny falls from a 70 story building, and a tragic accident where someone little dies in a unexpectedly in a train accident, these are all examples of what may cause an unexpected death.

alot of spirits stay around to because of what they have done in the past when they were alive .

I don't know if they are actually getting stuck I think they are choosing not to pass on they were not ready to go and maybe once they are they don't know how to let go

ive experienced first hand some ghost activity from a freinds who past who was close to me and people with unfinished buisness i think it that attachment they haveto this workld that keeps them here

I don't know if ghosts and guardians are the same, but the spirits I see are like men who are 'out of body' traveling. Still, I get the feeling they know they don't have earthly bodies and really don't care much about it.

Two good possibilities,other possibilities :those they loved won't let them pass.
Those that despised them keep them from passing.

Spirits "unenlightened"or with taint and corruption.

Then there is the possibility of "Time/Dimensional Travelers" being mistook for ghost.When they are an apparition of a different variation.The dreamers strong enough to fade-in.
I have been spotted outside myself by a friends cat.
and once by her roommate.To pass on I think has a lot to do with the "attachments that they cannot let go of (mostly superficial.) I feel people in deep comas can cross to life upon surreal tears in the fabric/veil.
How many they think of in true memories would perhaps create a draw and appearance .if not visible
at least in dreams.The trick I feel is to elimanate distraction static and be still to hear/feel/see/smell/touch there maybe a connection in the remince of an item.

I have always believed that ghosts were just the spirits of people that have passed on and can not move on because they are either angry or have unfinished business, but I guess the trauma makes more sense.

I believe ghosts are here for a reason or they stay because they want to see their family that exist , Especially around halloween and christmas time. Ghosts have unfinished business to finish and believe that they are trapped to their unfinished business is taking care of.

My personal thoughts on this is ones of simlpicity....
1) They are either trapped by a loved one not ready to let them pass over or they are not ready to leave their loved ones wishing to remain to protect and watch over them
2) They are too attached to possessions they owned while they were alive
3) They passed on so quickly they do not realize they are no longer among the living

they have things they feel were undone on earth and are trying to get them done

If a death come suddenly, or unforseen.. It could lead the person to not know that that have since become deceased. Its possible. Then ther are other who just refuse to let go when it is there time.
